It truly felt like he was looking out for my best interests. This is irregular for me, as my interaction with sales people in this industry is often unsatisfactory. I called over the phone inquiring about a car I saw advertised online. He was very prompt in answering all questions that I asked, and very thorough. I did my own research before, on the car's pricing and current promotions. Even though I thought I was thorough, Sonny found a promotion that I missed and included it. After coming into the dealership, Sonny went through everything we had discussed. There were no hidden surprises or unmentioned charges. He had some of the paperwork readied beforehand, and made sure that I was comfortable each step of the process. By the end of the interaction I was extremely satisfied and less anxious about seeing pricing post tax/fees, knowing that every line item was expected. We used to come here with earlier Cadillacs when it was owned by Nabors. Somehow recently we received a $50.00 gift card from Orange Coast to put towards service or parts for our 2008 Cadillac SRX which we had never brought here forservicing.This card WORKED! Our Mobile 1 synthetic oil was changed, fluid levels checked along with tire pressure for about $40.00 The car was washed and cleaned inside even tires polished.Fred Lockett did a great job on keeping us informed. I gave 2 stars because the salesperson was nice. Other than that, I have two words....INSPECTION REPORT!!! Insist upon it! Make sure you get it! Don't let them beat around the bush! Long story short, we bought a used truck. Two days later the engine light is on and it's leaking oil (Supposedly it passed all inspections, per their service managers word). The car is dropped off and sent to another dealer to be fixed. Took a week to get it back. The engine light issues have been taken care of. Paul in service states that the oil leak issue was known prior to selling us the car but nobody told us about it. States there's no way they're going to take care of it, since they just spent $1300 fixing engine light issues. Still didn't get the inspection report. Buyer Beware at this place. Definitely a code of ethics lacking. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Who's ready for a story? I'm going to tell you a story and I will let you make your decision on what rating this dealership deserves and hopefully save you some time and money! I live in San Francisco and had made an appointment with Ken Murray to view a 2017 Hyundai Elantra last Tuesday (7/28). The appointment was set I had been communicating back and forth the week prior and he knew I was driving over 6 hours to see this car. Ken tells me on Friday that anything I need just let him know and according to him that means anything and to call or text no matter when it is if I have any questions. His exact words were "just blow my phone up with text messages I'm here for you whether I'm on the clock or not". What a great guy.......... if that were true. However after I chatted with him on Saturday I did not here from him on Sunday. Or Monday. No reply to anything either day. Weird huh? Just wait it'll get weirder so I drive down as planned cash in hand to go buy this car over 400 miles to meet Ken as planned. I show up and you know what the weird thing has silly Ken had scheduled our appointment and then forgot to show up for work it just happened to be his day off although he had scheduled an appointment with me how weird! But wait there's more! Turns out the car isn't there either and Ken had already sold it days prior and just decided that it wasn't worth his time to make a 2 minute phone call to save me close 7 hours of travel. Then after asking to see the General Manager I was brought into his office only to be told after I had already waited that he would speak to me after he was finished writing his emails. So here I am fuming while the supposed "Boss" is not only writing emails but taking calls on speaker phone as I am sitting on the other side of his desk waiting as if I'm not even there. So maybe Kens value of a customers time was a learned habit rather then a mistake.... so sad. All the "Boss" could do was say sorry and tell me how many great reviews Ken had but I have to say I'm having a hard time finding them here. I will say that Willie did absolutely everything in his power to try and turn our experience around which I really appreciate; he seemed to be the only one that actually wanted to fix the problem. All in all the only reason I would go there to buy a car is if..... actually never mind I can't think of even one. Thanks to Jay at Suburban GMC. I've purchased many vehicles during my lifetime. This by far was the easiest experience ever.  Jay was very upfront with me about the cost of the truck I purchased and didn't try to throw in any extra or hidden charges (unlike ALL the other dealers I went to). The paperwork process took about a half hour.  We did a quick walk through of the truck (they offered to spend more time going over the truck but I had a previous appointment) . I would give 3.5 stars if that was an option. Not quite a 4 star dealership, but better than average. We didn't end up buying a vehicle here, but the trade-in offer they gave us for our truck was higher than any other dealership we went to that day. We brought our 15 month old toddler with us for a day of car shopping (and yes, it was a loooong day!), so I appreciated that Orange Coast GMC had a separate play room for her to hang out in while my husband looked at cars. They have a large inventory, and the employees aren't overly pushy. They listen to you and try to find a car based on the criteria you give them. Our sales rep (I think his name was Rob) was very helpful, and the manager was willing to work with us on the price, but in the end, we just found a better deal elsewhere. Ultimately, you would have to shop around for the best deal on a car, but this place is worth checking out. read more

Great service area, great waiting area with refreshments, and personalized attention. My check engine went on earlier in the week, so I made an appt online. Cruz greeted me right away, helped me check in, and saw to it that my truck was given attention. They had to order a part and keep it overnight but they provided me with a loaner. I worked with someone awesome over the phone. I wont use any names on an online review. I live in San Diego and called them on a 2017 GMC Acadia. The price was listed online for over 26K. I worked with a gentleman over the phone, exchanged a bunch of pictures and info and I decided I wanted it. So they said they will get it all ready. I then show up and everything looks good, test drive was great! I brought my wife and my son, everyone was excited!!! Ok now fast forward to "the back office" we get to a sales rep desk and I'm told I need to run a hard credit check, even though I was paying cash. I made a huge deal about it and after "talking with the manager" they come back and say they have to run it per policy to verify my identification, mind you I have a Real ID and multiple forms of ID. I make an even bigger fit showing them online articles about how dealers run credit when it isnt needed as a marketing scam to get info, and I did not want to affect my credit report due to purchasing a home in the very near future (hence paying with cash) So then the manager asks me about some invisible shield for the car that is 800$ I said no(the material is 50$ and I can do myself) So they leave to talk to the GM supposedly. They eventually come back and said they got approval to not run my credit on a cash purchase. But tell me I have to purchase the invisible shield, but they can do it for 600$ now, because as it turns out they already installed it on the car. I said no and that this car has been listed for 4 months without showing these mandatory upgrades and i was walking out over this. They said OK sorry but we cant sell it without you purchasing the invisible shield. Ok so I leave. It isnt until I hit the freeway before I get a call. Another rep says he can get them to back off the upgrades. So I turn around and drove back from the freeway. About 5-10 minutes. When I get there, me and my wife sit down and they say they can do it for 550$. At this point I'm pretty upset because i made it very clear that i dont like B.S. and was assured i wouldnt have any shady buisness. I did not want the optional invisible shield because as it is stated (optional) But in the end i felt like this was a typical used car lot with shady tactics. All in all I am very disappointed. Time is money, and wasting a half a day from San Diego was not necessary. Now this dealer can sit on a car that hasnt sold for 4 months over something so pety. I work for a fortune100 company and know customer service, and unfortunately for Suburban GMC Buik, they failed miserably. Had they honored the price that I was quoted to get me up there it would have been a completely different situation. I am disappointed and shocked that a legit GM dealer could do this sort of bait and switch. Wouldnt you assume that all options that came with the vehicle that would affect price would be 1. Listed online 2. Disclosed during multiple calls and texts asking for final quote price 3.have the option to not get something that is basically expensive scotch tape and force me to pay 800$ for it then go to 550$. Sounds like the margins at this dealer are large coming down 32% in a matter of minutes. Does anyone believe the tape cost them 550? New update: I ended up taking my car to Buick in Tustin and they estimated and diagnosed my vehicle as expected and I will be submitting a complaint to GMC in regards to the service department. Lost for words with service department. They totally tried to screw my mom over during a time she needed to leave town to go make funeral arrangements for her mom. I'll start with the Service Manager Jim Maloney. After having issues with Fred in the past and now Jason, I decided to go directly to the manager (Jim) knowing my moms car is under warranty. He persisted it was a tire problem and demanded getting new tires when legally they cant quote for new tires unless they measure under 4. All I needed is the barrings replaced which are covered under warranty!! He claims he's been in the business for 35 years and my moms car needs new tires when all he needs to do is drive it and will know it's the barrings. Jason originally quoted tires at $950 then knocked down to $720(also shady) after having car for a full day and sending her for a rental. The barring's need to be replaced and are covered under warranty, therefore, replace my barrings and I'll get my tires elsewhere for cheaper!?! I don't understand. Classic though, try to pull this on a lady that they think knows nothing about cars only to find out that she has a daughter who worked around cars her whole life. This is not the first time either cause I had issues with a leased Verano in the past from same dealership and service department. I have no problem taking legal action for breach of contract in the warranty just to prove a point at this point. They simply can't continue to get away with this especially with card through their dealership that have covered warranties. Highly advise anyone looking to lease or purchase go elsewhere. read more

I bought my 2014 XTS Cadillac here 2 years ago. I must say I love my car and I have been treated with great service ever since! I want to share with you my experience today. Yesterday my (Duchess) Cadi automatic rear level control suspension gave out while I was driving my family on an errand. I pulled over and got out of my vehicle and I noticed my rear body was on top of my two rear tires. I called the dealer about 5:45 pm and the operator or service receptionist advised me not to bring my car in until the next morning due to they were closing. She also let me know that I would not be given a courtesy vehicle while my duchess was being serviced due to they did not have extra loan vehicle for another week. She also stated that I would have to provide my own transportation from the dealer and get my own rental while my vehicle was being serviced at Suburban Buick GMC of Costa Mesa. 25 minutes later she took a message and stated a service technician would call me the next day. At this point I was about to call triple AAA to get towed to my home. I noticed the rear automatic suspension control leveled out again. I was able to drive my vehicle home safely. The next morning I never received a return courtesy phone call. Around 9:00 am I called Suburban Buick GMC of Costa Mesa, and spoke to an operator. She was trying to locate a auto service member technician. After 5 minutes I finally said let me speak to the manager or let me please speak to Cruz. I have had such awesome customer service with Mr. Cruz that I really don't like to deal with anyone else. So to make a long story short, Cruz answered the call and addressed my concern. He was quick to give a solution and resolution. When I arrived at the dealer 15 minutes later praying that my duchess would not lose any rear suspension leveling Cruz immediately greeted me, walked me into the Service Department desk got my paperwork, and had a vehicle ready for me to drive while my duchess (CADI) was being serviced. I was so amazed at the Customer Service Cruz provided. He made my previous experience with the operator and lack of vigilance of the Service Auto Department as though it never happened. Within less than a 1/2 hour I was in and out of Suburban Buick GMC of Costa Mesa. Mr. Cruz made my day! This blew me away. So if you ever need a Cadillac and want great customer service come here and ask for Cruz. You will feel confident and safe. He takes care of customers. I know my duchess is safe and I'm able to still run around town and get my errands and appointments done due to Mr. Cruz vigilance and great customer service. I also told him I'm in the market for this vehicle and would be able to close the deal within 48 hours as I already have the financing lined up. I proceeded to ask what was their bottom line on the car since I don't want to go back and forth. No clue how this place has 4 stars. Bought a car from them in November and traded in my car at the same time. Car I bought was missing the second key fob and the owners manual. My sales guy promised to send the items out ASAP. 2 weeks later I call. He promises to send them out again. 2 weeks later I text him. He promises to check with the service department and get back to me Monday (I text on Fri). Another week and nothing. I call the service department and they send me the manual but can't sort out the key fob situation. Just walked to my mailbox and found the second toll evasion ticket on my old car (post trade in date) the he last 3 days. Worst car buying experience of my life. Having to pay way over MSRP is brutal enough. Negotiated and agreed to a price over the phone and when I arrived the dealer added $2,000. Was told this was dealer options but was never told about this. They explained it was part of the "out the door" price, when all I ever talked about was the price of the truck plus tax and registration, then to be told about this once I was signing was so unscrupulous and unprofessional. Dealership still managed to choke half of that $2,000 ambush out of me because I was desperate to get the truck. Ray and whoever his boss was, that I never got to meet, robbed me of any pleasure I could have experienced in driving away in this truck. The only positives on this was the person who did the finance was very professional and patient when I had to go back to negotiating due to getting ambushed with $2000. Additionally, Tom who did the "walk through" showing me the feature was amazing, and the original sales guy Tony was good. Cruz promptly notified me that a part was needed and that he had set up for me to have a loaner car - wow! Although he advised that the needed part would arrive in a couple of days, it actually arrived the next day. Well done!! Mr. Pena went over and beyond the call of duty, thank you. Cruz is why I now drive over 58 miles each way to have my Cadillac serviced. Oh and the service department offers appointments on Saturdays, and the customer lounge is spacious and clean. I recently took my car to Suburban for them to diagnose what I thought might be a wheel bearing issue, which Jason the service rep confirmed would be under warranty. Jason called me later in the day and advised they needed to keep my car overnight. The next morning Jason called and told me I needed four new tires and if that didn't fix the problem I could bring it back in! I picked up my car and took it directly to American Tire Depot and Dave measured all tires and confirmed none were needed at this time. He also drove the car and agreed it sounded like a bad wheel bearing. I called Suburban's Service Manager, Jim Maloney and left a message. I had to leave town for my mother's funeral so my daughter had to handle his return call in which he offered no apology for their lack of 'service' nor an accurate diagnosis. She then contacted Morgan, the General Manager to make him aware of the lack of service, and wrong diagnosis. he said he would look into it and call back. A week passes and no return call from him. When I returned, I contacted Tustin Buick spoke to their Service Manager, Howard and made an appt to bring my car in. Felipe, the Service Advisor contacted me to let me know it would take more than a day and arranged for a loaner car for me when I dropped my car off. They completed the repair (see below). Obviously I will never go back to Suburban and highly recommend Tustin Buick for excellent service and correct diagnosis of the problem. If I had believed Suburban, I would be out nearly $1000 for new tires that I didn't need yet! read more

I went here to look at a car I saw online. The sticker price was way higher than the carfax value. So they're playing a game to get people to come in, pay regular price and think they're getting some kind of deal. Anyways, that's not the worst part. I liked the car, was considering if I'd want to finance or pay cash, so I went inside to talk to Willy, the car salesman. He explained to me what the terms and interest would likely be, but we agreed it was not great terms, so I said don't submit it to the bank, I'll come back with cash. Later that same day, I sent a text asking what the cost of other car I was looking at would be, and then got a call from someone saying I was approved for a loan and to come back. What? I didn't want a loan... so now I have 3 credit check hits on my report for nothing. I called the manager and he said, oh he was just trying to help, it doesn't affect your credit that much. Of course you're not worried about the affect it has on MY credit. He said there's nothing they can do to fix it. Got my car brand new 5 years ago from this dealership. Paid extra for the Denali. After the 5 year warranty is up (at less than 40K miles) the car falls apart. Dash board has cracked 2 times and had to replace both pieces, door handle has broken off, paint is chipping off the other handles, back trunk makes an awful loud noise when I open the back, paint looks like crap and GMC and this dealership I got it from isn't helping with any. You would think the good faith would kick in and they would fix it. I paid so much money to get my Yukon Denali new at this dealership and 5 years later and at JUST now hitting 40k miles it looks like a cheap old car. I get washes and details on a regular bases and it's looks awful. I would think twice before getting a Denali from here. read more
