Late post but had to say that Costa Mesa Smog will always be my go-to place for a smog check! I've come here throughout the years and they have always been so quick, clean and efficient! Honestly I don't take the time to write letters or reviews but this place should be absolutely avoided so I'm doing this as a public service announcement! If you have a coupon its the regular price plus the coupon price minus the coupon price. The two guys I dealt with were both Iranian A-Holes. They had a crap attitude and were very rude. There's dozens of smog check stations in the area do yourself a favor and chose any one of them. The one star is because there's not a negative star option available. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! read more

I actually haven't been here so I picked a middle star rating - just note that they have a $20 off coupon but it is really that they bring their prices up by $20 and then give you the "coupon price" of $20 off. I figured that out once I called multiple other smog check places and they all gave me the same price as this place but without a coupon in play. So basically this place is exactly the same cost as all the others out there but they just pretend there is a coupon they are applying. I did find one place that had a coupon for $10 off which brought it down to $10 lower than their usual price (and $10 lower than this company's $20 off rate) Neither bad nor good but just something to be aware of :) read more

Fraud Alert!!! They Charged my card three times. I spent a month on the phone with the owner and multiple trips to their location to try to rectify the situation. He felt it was my responsibility to contact his bank. Very rude and condescending had no intentions of lifting a finger to help me out. Charged me 144.60 for one smog check. I had to contact the fraud department at my credit union to get the money back. read more

So, upon looking at the other yelp reviews I thought to myself, well okay, they are rated well, let me try them! Well, the guy didn't even mention the price, he just kind of rushed me in. So, I thought, okay well, faster service is better. Then, he did some stuff I guess and he pulled my car out and said it failed and it would be around $40 bucks. I said, well, why would I pay for something that I had no idea if you failed, you still had to pay. I understand, but you can at least let your clients know, so that we can be aware of it. read more

Decent place until my car didn't pass the smog test. They offered a free retest, but by the time I came back in I had to repay. Guess retest only is valid for 30 days. I was 10 days late and they refused to help me out with waiving the fee. read more

Show up on Sunday as the hours on yelp say they are open till 4pm. Place is closed. Even the sign on the window says open on Sunday till 4pm. I really needed to get smogged by Monday morning so that totally sucked. Try being open during your scheduled hours or change them so I don't waste my time and gas! read more

Great experience today at Costa Mesa Smog . My truck failed to pass, but well worth the drive from Lake Forest to Costa Mesa. The test was completed in 15 min.
