First visit and I am a huge fan. There are a lot of these go down the line and hold your own Nachos, Burritos, Tacos, Quesadillas type places, but most lack something. My family came out to Costa Vida to try it for the first time. Quick Service where you order your food, its put together as you order and ready as you are checking out. During our trip they seemed swamped with online orders and didn't seem to have a good set up to take care of having a flux of online and walk in orders. As they had a line to the door and a lot of people waiting on their togo orders. It didn't help that it was already warm inside. I could see coming during a down time but honestly after this visit I doubt I will be back until they make some changes. read more

Costa Vida is similar to free birds or chipotle in that they offer similar quick service meals... Just with a few different options for mains but maybe a little fewer topping options to change things up. Of the things I've tried the nachos was the favorite. The regular is easily something I could split with one of my kids. The quesadilla, even the adult one, is pretty basic as it was just meat and cheese... But if you have a kid with big appetite but still on the picky side that works. The staff while super nice, seem easily to get swamped. We came early but they had a steady stream of online orders as well as walk ins and they only have one prep station. So there was a long line of walk ins and we noticed at least 5 people waiting on delayed Togo orders as we got settled to eat. I doubt we will come as a whole family again; I might come back for the nachos if I'm over here at a time I don't think they would be busy. read more

This is my favorite fast food Mexican spot. It's usually pretty consistent with the food quality. Most of the time I order it on delivery, but the restaurant interior has always been nice and clean when I've dined in. My go-to dish is the chicken enchiladas with green chile sauce. I could drink the sauce - it's that good haha. I've also gotten their salad many times and it's delicious as well if you're looking for something lighter. Costa Vida is a weekly visit for our family. The food is consistently good & better than some Tex mex you are waited on. Their queso is top 3 along with Gloria's & Torchy's imo. The restaurant is kept clean & the bright coastal decor gives it a vibrant feel. Their tres leches is also better than many I have had at far more expensive restaurants. Costa Vida took some persuasion from family members before I got onboard. Now, well, I'll eat there without protesting. Baby steps, right?? There's usually a line, and it moves fairly quickly. Part of the reason is the employees behind the counter. They flat get the job done. That's both good and bad. Good, because the line keeps moving. Bad, because you really need to know what you're ordering. There's pressure! Chop, chop! No one likes a lollygagger! Or, at least, that's the way I often feel while in line. Pro tip, look at the online menu before you're in line and know what you want. The food options can be fairly healthy. Or, if you're like me, the food can be fairly healthy, but yeah, not so much. We tend to order the same dishes, probably because we like them. I think you'll find what you like as well. Here's what we buy, and are always happy with it. Specialty Drinks: Horchata: A traditional Mexican rice milk with a creamy-sweet taste and hints of cinnamon.  Quesadillas: Filled with meat and cheese. Served with cilantro lime rice and choice of beans. **If you do not want beans and rice, choose the "A La Carte Entrée" On this visit, we substituted Chips & Queso: house fried tortilla chips served with Costa's custom queso. Also, we ordered the two tacos plate: made with grilled chicken and shredded beef, cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo. Served with cilantro lime rice and choice of beans. **If you do not want beans and rice, choose the "A La Carte Entrée". The ambiance is casual fast food. Anyways clean and well managed. The place I miss the most to eat now that I've moved out of state. The salads are to die for. The queso is supreme. The friendly staff and they are amazing to work with those of us that have to be gluten free. They happily change gloves and do everything to make sure my food is safe to eat. In the long line of semi fast food (order going down a line) TexMex restaurants, this is another one. Food was fresh, service and preparation was fast, portions were very large. It is just hard to distinguish between most of these. If doing a comparison, I would rate this as better than many of the competitors, and as a result I would certainly choose it above some of the more well-known names. In our party of 4 we had the Barbacoa Beef Quesadilla (very good), the Grilled Chicken Burrito (Good), two orders of the Grilled Chicken Enchiladas (excellent). I have been eating Costa Vida for the last 10+ years and I've loved it every single step of the way. It's a local favorite that high school kids love and older people love. The service is always good. I like to go between two and four when it's not as busy. My favorite thing is a half chicken half pork burrito, instead of getting it smothered in queso I like to get the queso inside with all the other ingredients. It keeps the tortilla from getting soggy and makes for an even better burrito I believe. It's always very clean bathrooms included. read more

My order total was over $22. I get home to find the attached picture. Taste wise, it's like I remember, decent. Price wise, not worth what I paid for two tacos, rice and beans. The tacos don't have hardly any meat on them, hardly any lettuce and includes only 2. 3 would be reasonable especially if they aren't going to have much meat on them. For almost $10. The steak bowl is so small for almost $12. Very odd. At least the dish for steak bowl could be as big as the dish they give for the taco entree. Costa Vida does fresh Mexican food that is light on the stomach, but enough to satisfy you for your meal. I got the Baja bowl with grilled chicken as the protein. They also allow you to add fresh toppings, different types of sauce, cheese and beans. I added lettuce, shredded cheese, black beans and a tangy tomatillo sauce, over a bed of cilantro-lime rice. The protein was cooked just right, not overdone, but with enough char that a good grilling should offer. The rest of the ingredients were fine - the lettuce fresh and crunchy and the sauce was tangy without being overpowering. Two reasons I didn't go for 5 stars - I felt the beans were undone (I little more firm that I'd like it) and I wish we had a choice of adding sour cream or guac, something with a different texture to balance out everything else. Overall, a very solid choice for quick, enjoyable Mexican fare. read more

My first time here I was not impressed with the portion size of my food, so when we came back again I decided to order something different. Needless to say I was much happier this time around. I ordered the loaded nachos and they really pile on the toppings. The end result is more than enough for a full meal. Last time I had gotten the quesadillas and was dissatisfied with the portion size, though they tasted great. If you are comparing the loaded nachos to the quesadillas, I'd definitely go with the loaded nachos. read more

Fast fresh California style Mexican food in a counter/cafeteria style setting (think Chipotle). Very friendly staff with large portions and casual atmosphere. I had a large salad and the it was great. Grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and veggies were fresh, and dressings are made fresh every day (I had the chipotle ranch). Food was great! I have also in the past had a burrito, enchiladas, quesadillas and burrito bowl, all very good. Nachos looked amazing and their salsa is fantastic and queso is good too! Great fast casual restaurant but can get crowded. It also seems like this is where all of Colleyville's students hang out and is seems to be a mainstay for locals. This is not a bad thing, but the line can back up on the weekend since it's across from the movie theater. Great fresh food, friendly staff, and fast service. I will definitely be back! My wife and I were meeting friends of ours for lunch and a visit. They didn't have a preference so I chose Costa Vida since I had passed it several times and never stopped in. It wasn't a good choice for a visit since the restaurant is VERY loud especially on a weekday. It seems to be very popular with the high school crowd. Walking in you go through the line and order what you want. It was very rushed with a packed house. I wife ordered a single chicken taco with rice and beans I ordered the grilled fish tacos with rice and pinto beans along with hot sauce. We also ordered a large guac and queso with chips to share. We munched on chips, queso, and guac while we all waited for our entrees to be delivered to our table. The guac was much better than the queso. It had a really sweet taste to it. My wife's chicken taco was good, she liked it. My fish tacos were good except they forgot the hot sauce and gave me black beans instead of pintos even though it was written on my order. I always love coming here with my kids when they are craving the Mexican version of Chipotle, I guess you can say . I love it because it's quick and easy. Restaurant is always well maintained and cleaned. Everyone is always nice , and help with my orders, I usually don't know know what sauce to go best with my entree. This is the best Costa Vida! It is a great deal on fresh made fast food. The salsa has a nice kick and definitely made from scratch, and so is their queso. I love how they make it all in front of you so you can get exactly how you like things. The chicken is delicious too and they usually don't skimp on the meat! I get filled up! Let me start this off with telling you the food is good. It is not the best of restaurants of their type but the raspberry chicken is worth trying. But the reason for this review is due to their service. I went around 1pm on a Monday and was shocked but How rude the staff was. I felt rushed despite there being nobody behind me. I could ask any question and when I did they just moved on with answering just trying to get me down the line. I ended up ordering something I didn't want because I felt so uncomfortable. I had not been there in a year and was very excited to try costa vida again, but after this I don't think I will go back. The costumer service completely turned me off. I'm normally really forgiving because I have been in the food industry for 13 years and this would never have been accepted anywhere I have worked. Please work on it. read more
