Let me start by saying that we never had Costa Vida before, however, based on the reviews and pictures posted by the restaurant and other happy customers, we were intrigued. We were in the area many times before, picking out our wedding rings and felt it was serendipitous when we started looking for fresh Mexican food to serve at our wedding. My fiancé and I decided to come in for a tasting and made an appointment to see what they offer and decide what we liked. I can tell you we were both blown away by the superb service, the presentation, the price, and most importantly, the quality and taste of their food! The tasting started with an offering of chips and four different salsas. Their pico de gallo was a delicious and FRESH, it tasted it just like the pico my mom used to make fresh for me every saturday morning to have with her delicious moyetes (if you know, you know). Our favorite salsas were the mango salsa, and the honey-habanero-tomatillo salsa, they had unique flavors which were addictive. The chips were delicious, fresh, and light. Everything tasted super fresh. Then came the enchiladas. We tasted chicken with red sauce and cheese with green sauce. We both enjoyed the green enchiladas as the sauce was tangy and sweet at the same time. After we cleansed our palates with delicious horchata and strawberry limonada (my new favorite) we were introduced to the main course. We got to experience their tacos. We were presented with a grilled chicken taco and sweet carnitas, we were pleasantly surprised by the fusion of the different ingredients, the flavor and, did I mention the freshness and quality of the ingredients? Alongside the tacos we got what we commonly think as a "taco" salad, the base is a flour tortilla, black and pinto beans, cilantro lime rice, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce, grilled chicken and the right amount of tortilla strips to give it that extra crunch! We settled on the tomatillo ranch dressing which has the perfect amount of salty goodness! It was all so tastyI am still craving it. Finally,

Tonight, I ate at Costa Vida for dinner. I ordered three tacos and a side of rice. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. I liked going down the line to pick what goes on my plate. There were lots of options, and the staff was patient while I decided.The tortillas were made fresh right in front of me. You could see them press and cook each one. That made a big difference. The place had a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Easy to sit and enjoy your food without feeling rushed. I left full and happy. I'll definitely come back.

I was in Roseville running errands and feeling a bit peckish. I wanted a quick snack, not junk, but real food to tide me over and sit a spell. I used Yelp to find nearby places. Costa Vida, counter service chain, specializing in Baja Mexican food popped up. Overall I had a good experience. Awesome customer service. Taco was not bad at all. Comfortable dining area. I ordered a single shredded beef taco ~$6. The flour tortilla is grilled slightly. The staff assembles the taco with the fixings right in front of you. Made your way. The taco is full size, not street taco size. The fixings were fresh looking and tasting. The shredded beef was ok, a bit bland. Not knock my socks off flavor wise but not bad at all. The dining area had a lot of seating. Chill place to eat and relax. No one rushing you out. They also have some outdoor tables.

If you're looking for affordable GOOD food, you've food it. Fresh tortillas, where else do they do that?! The portions are massive too. One burrito can easily feed 2 people. And the kids meals are the best deal in town! Today, we tried their new chili lime shredded chicken- I hope it stays on the menu forever!! So juicy and flavorful. Pinto beans are my fav. And I love that they have a ton of options for toppings too- make sure to try the salsa Fresca and avocado ranch! Don't forget to check what their daily special is! On Sunday, you can pick any special. So worth it!! Okay so the food is great, service is good. But I will say the inside isn't the best. Usually people get food to go, or we chose to sit outside today. But the drink area and indoor tables needed some attention. But we will for sure come back! Oh and pro-tip- get their app because the points add up and you get great rewards: free entree, free dessert, or up to like $1000 off catering. Especially if you have a business that you purchase for frequently.

I absolutely love Costa Vida, so I really hate to be leaving a negative review--but my last visit here was full of issues. When we first walked up to the front door, there was a horrible smell outside. I'm not sure what it was, but it was very unpleasant. Inside, I noticed several tables with puddles of water underneath them--not just in one area, but throughout the restaurant. We proceeded to order at the counter. My teenage daughter went first and ordered the quesadilla special. I ordered my favorite, the sweet pork burrito (which, to be fair, was delicious as always). My husband ordered last, the daily special--sweet pork enchiladas. As we moved down the line, we realized my daughter's order hadn't been made at all. I brought it up, and only then did they start preparing it--but they ended up making her a kids quesadilla meal instead of the quesadilla special she had asked for. After paying, we found a table and went to fill our drinks. My husband poured iced tea from the separate tea container. When he took a sip, it tasted awful. He opened the lid and saw things floating in it that looked like mold. Checking the container, we saw the prep sticker--made on Tuesday 8/26, use by Friday 8/29--but this visit was on Tuesday 9/2. That's four days past the "use by" date and a full week since it was prepped. Finally, I tried to scan my receipt in the Costa Vida app for rewards. It kept saying "invalid." After trying multiple times, I asked an employee for help. She told me, "Oh, no problem, I'll add it in for you." But several days later, no rewards were ever added. Overall, the food itself (at least my burrito) was great, but everything else about this visit was disappointing--from cleanliness and order accuracy to expired tea and unhelpful rewards support. I truly hope management addresses these issues, because I normally love Costa Vida and want this location to succeed.

Took a detour from my usual chicken nachos (which never miss) yesterday and went with the sweet pork salad. That pork is ridiculously tender and packed with flavor, with just the right balance of sweetness and smokiness. Add in that fresh tortilla at the base, black beans, the mountain of crisp romaine, the creamy house dressing, and a scoop of guac to crown it all? Chef's kiss. You've got a salad that doesn't feel like a compromise--it feels like a celebration. Friendly service, clean space, and food that hits every time. Still firmly in my 5-star rotation.

Food is good and I definitely get their salad every time. The burritos are huge and definitely will have leftovers. Pricing is ok and staff is doing what they can. I believe they are under staffed with only two people working during lunch hours. Nothing special with the scenery and that is what they can do extra. Fabulous! The Raspberry Chicken is so delicious, but the service from the amazing ladies was even better! They really cared about their us having a nice experience- when we asked about the different dressings, she insisted that my wife tasted all three and she loved them all. It was a hard decision which made it so nice to have the options. We LOVED the great service (which you can't get as much as you hope to) and we loved the food, definitely big portions which we took home and had for dinner and that is really fun. This is really a fun alternative to Chipotle or any other corporate owned fast food restaurant. We saw one review where the guy said they are short staffed, but he should be grateful that this place is here and settled down a little bit and enjoy himself instead of feeling like he has to be rushing all of the time. I get it if you only have a certain amount of time for lunch, but that's something that you have to account for. read more

Just finished a tasting. This place is amazing. There prices are reasonable, the food is wonderful. They use wonderful fresh ingredients. We tried the fajitas with freshly made flour and corn tortillas so tasty with the fire roasted salsa. The enchiladas were really good the red sauce and the tanginess of the green sauced enchiladas with shredded Chicken. And super accommodating for some modifications for our event. Ok, I have to start stating that I do like the food but the customer service is pretty weak. We went today with my wife and in-laws. I ordered a chicken burrito, my wife 2 chicken taco's, my mother in-law asked about some cholesterol things like what has fat, oil etc. The lard that was in the wheat tortilla deterred her so she went with the corn tortillas and ordered 2 chicken tacos as well. Right after the tortilla selection the gal serving her slapped butter all over the tortilla! Amazing? She asked for 2 without butter and complied. So when I get to the register I ask for water the checker pulls out 2 plastic Dixie cups. I asked for a larger one but she was going to charge me for the cup. Never mind! It amazes me that restaurants do this. Especially since we all have choices to go to other restaurants. Probably won't return. read more

Ate here on Tuesday for lunch. I got the chicken tacos. They hand press the tortilla and this is a nice touch. Unfortunately, that is where the good part ends. The employees were very robotic. Not one of them smiled at me and didn't see them smile at anyone. After receiving my meal, I sat outside and ate. The tortillas were soggy with chicken juice as it sits in a broth of some kind. who knows for how long. the rice was very dry and the beans lacked any flavor. I didn't spend much money and in this case I got exactly what I paid for. worst part, is there is a pizza place right next to it. I absolutely love this restaurant. I used to live in Utah and would often go to Cafe Rio (very similar to Costa Vida) or Costa Vida. When I moved to CA that was one of the things I really missed. I was SO excited when my husband found Costa Vida here. Whenever friends come from out of town to visit it is the only place we go to eat. We also go at least every few weeks. This place used to be awesome before the new owners took over. It's run like it's owned by accountants - too worried about saving a nickel than providing good customer service and what customers want. Don't nickel and dime us! I hope they change - because I do crave their chipotle chicken burrito - but not going to support a company like this. We used to go there nearly every week. Bummer. read more
