Had a quick lunch delivered today from the Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill. I was just looking for something to fill me up as I was working on a project. I ordered a Baja Bowl with grilled steak. It included cheese, rice, beans and sauce. It was garnished with lettuce and pico de gallo and I added some sour cream. A large flour tortilla accompanied my meal. The grilled steak was delicious, tender, and plentiful. I was surprised how much was included. Otherwise, I did not enjoy the meal that much - lacked flavor and not enough lettuce. Let me start by saying that we never had Costa Vida before, however, based on the reviews and pictures posted by the restaurant and other happy customers, we were intrigued. We were in the area many times before, picking out our wedding rings and felt it was serendipitous when we started looking for fresh Mexican food to serve at our wedding. My fiancé and I decided to come in for a tasting and made an appointment to see what they offer and decide what we liked. I can tell you we were both blown away by the superb service, the presentation, the price, and most importantly, the quality and taste of their food! The tasting started with an offering of chips and four different salsas. Their pico de gallo was a delicious and FRESH, it tasted it just like the pico my mom used to make fresh for me every saturday morning to have with her delicious moyetes (if you know, you know). Our favorite salsas were the mango salsa, and the honey-habanero-tomatillo salsa, they had unique flavors which were addictive. The chips were delicious, fresh, and light. Everything tasted super fresh. Then came the enchiladas. We tasted chicken with red sauce and cheese with green sauce. We both enjoyed the green enchiladas as the sauce was tangy and sweet at the same time. After we cleansed our palates with delicious horchata and strawberry limonada (my new favorite) we were introduced to the main course. We got to experience their tacos. We were presented with a grilled chicken taco and sweet carnitas, we were pleasantly surprised by the fusion of the different ingredients, the flavor and, did I mention the freshness and quality of the ingredients? Alongside the tacos we got what we commonly think as a "taco" salad, the base is a flour tortilla, black and pinto beans, cilantro lime rice, cotija cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce, grilled chicken and the right amount of tortilla strips to give it that extra crunch! We settled on the tomatillo ranch dressing which has the perfect amount of salty goodness! It was all so tastyI am still craving it. Finally, I am not a sweets person, but we got desert and it did NOT disappoint, we got treated to the most delicious tres leches cake I've ever had, no joke, the portion was also the perfect amount as tres leches can be very overwhelming if over indulged. Overall, we gave this restaurant the highest marks and definitely will make a great wedding caterer for us and anyone else who dares to be fresh! The next time we are in Roseville we will make it a point to stop and have a great meal. Stay fresh my friends!!! read more

Went here to pick up food to share with friends/watch college football. Four stars only because their website didn't include extras that you can order in person. The lady who was making the tortillas and filling our order was very personable and gave us good suggestions. We got a chicken bowl, a smothered burrito and enchiladas. I got a bean and cheese burrito with red sauce on top plus rice. Our friends got a side of queso with chips-yum! Costa Vida is our son's favorite restaurant, so naturally he requested to have Costa Vida for his graduation party. We opted for the taco bar since we had a variety of people attending with different dietary restrictions. I placed our order in April for a May 31st party date. Placing the order was simple. We selected our meats and beans. We order a side of chips and queso, chips and guacamole, and chips and salsa. My husband and son picked up the order at 10:30 am. It was piping hot! We placed it out for all to enjoy. Our fear of not enough food was unfounded. All of our guests loved the food. They raved about the quality and freshness. Very delicious food. The restaurant is clean and for the price you get a good amount of food. I got a burrito and I should have taken half home but it tasted so good I finished the whole thing. You receive a one star because this is my first time being there and not impressed customer service was not to par especially at five star rating and your delivery service. You're expected to make all the drinks no matter how busy you are and the drink was not made for the delivery service. I provided the customer and I had to make a drink.
