So i honestly haven't visited this restaurant since before covid. The restaurant has had a face lift since the last visit. I received a coupon so it was the ideal time to try it again. The employee at the front order area was efficient but terse. The cashier did not look like she wanted to be at work. My order was a sweet pork nacho and a salad with chicken. The sweet pork nachos were as I remembered. Plenty of meat and chips. The grilled chicken salad was stuffed full in a freshly made tortilla. A little stingy with the guacamole and sour cream but overall it was good. The restaurant plays their music rather loudly so it's a little hard to carry on a conversation. Every time we go to Yuba City, we stop to eat at Costa Vida. We love the fresh green salad, pico de gallo, warm tortillas, and flavorful meat. Also, everyone is always very friendly there! This visit was very unpleasant. Service Upon getting in line, the staff were not friendly at all. Not a smile, nor greeting whatsoever. This is very off putting to say the least. I've been coming to Costa Vida for a while now and still love their smothered burritos. It's definitely a heavy meal that I'll fill you up. I love their sweet pork which has so much flavor but isn't too sweet. It's very tender as well. The burritos are decent size for the price and all around have a good amount of flavor. I did ask for lettuce and pico which I noticed after they forgot after I left. Definitely check you have everything before you leave. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area for their great burritos. This is one of my go to's whenever I visit. read more

Update to previous review!! Ordering to-go via phone is horrible! Worst experience I have ever had. The other end of the phone is so loud they can never hear what your saying. Have to repeated every sentence(and I mean every sentence) multiple times! So frustrating and the last two times our order has come out wrong. I highly suggest they slip away to a office or the back of the restaurant somewhere where it is more quiet. We visit here often, but recently this place has gone down hill with its cleanliness. We walked in shortly after 7. There was no one in line and 4-5 people behind the counter. We walk past the garbage to order and notice that it was not only full it was overflowing. We order sit down to eat our food and noticed an employee on break eating as well. When she's finished she gets up and just said her trash on top of the already overflowing pile. As we finish eating once again nobody in line and still overflowing trash cans to the point that we must leave our trash at the table. I really hate leaving negative reviews but this place totally sucks. This is the second time the fucked up my order. First they forget my tortilla I had ordered on the side. I had to drive back to get it. Then today I ordered extra dressing and they forgot my dressing but made sure to charge me extra for. I live 20 minutes away so it hard to go back to get it. The workers there seem to be extremely clueless, a gal put chicken in my chicken salad realize she's scooped too much then scooped it out of my plate she was assembling to put back into the tray I wish they would hire competent people or people who knew what the fell they were doing. I frequent this place! I always get a smothered burrito with mango salsa. Their mango salsa is amazing! I always ask for it inside the burrito and a little on top of the smothered sauce. They double charged me! They have never double charged me before. I was just shocked. I come here often and usually know exactly how much it will be but the girl just seemed to charge me for anything and everything. I like this place better than chipotle, and it's cheaper and better tasting but cmon guys. Don't drive away your loyal customers. read more

I was out on friday evening and had the itch to try something new. I have driven by this place several times, but I never got the courage to go in and order. Today I decided to bite the bullet and see what was up in the land of Fresh Mexican Costa Vida. The signage on the outside was colorful and inviting, but it's tucked away in the back end of the shopping plaza. Upon entering the facility, I was a little confused, but found my way against the wall towards the ordering station. The Menu is not hanging behind the kitchen, so its awkward to have to stare at the adjacent wall to your right and memorize what you want before ordering. After standing in line and letting this irritating man behind me go ahead, I decided to try their grilled steak burrito. I enhanced the order with guacamole and a side of tomatillo ranch. That tomatillo ranch was very delicious... The burrito was quite expensive, totaling over 15$ for the burrito, some guacamole, a side of the ranch, and a drink. After settling down at a booth, I dug in and was extremely satisfied. The food was delicious, and the steak was quality. To be honest, that burrito was one of the most satisfying meals I have ever had. The tortilla was toasted, the meat was very good, and the veggies were fresh. Besides the price being a turn off, the cleanliness of the restaurant was very poor. Almost every table was dirty, the trashcans were littered, and the floor was swarming in debris and food. I don't think the place had been swept or wiped down all day. Regardless, the food was very good, the vibe was inviting, and I will be back. The pricing is a little high, but they have an app to earn points. I'm glad i gave it a try, you will as well. read more

Taste was pretty good, but value is terrible. Nearly $40 for one chicken burrito with guacamole, a chicken salad with extra chicken, and chips & queso with two fountain drinks. I priced a similar meal at Chipotle at it came out to just under $30. I also don't like the tipping suggestion on the register screen. I think it's audacious of them to have a 25% tip option on that screen for the type of restaurant. It is counter service, self-service fountain drinks, and you bus your own tables, grab your own sauces etc. I think a few bucks is more than enough, but there is pressure on this type of system to enter at least 15%. read more
