Hands down the worst service I ever received was their photo department. I have never been spoken to in such a condescending manner. I got my wedding pictures printed here and they were too dark. We used to live in Daly City and shopped at the Costco in SSF. That Costco was horrible. The Costco in Danville is so much better. The crowds on the evenings are non-existent. Guaranteed not to have more than 3 or 4 people in front of you on weeknight evenings. Weekends are crowded, but not the crazy crowds like SSF. They even have free samples during weeknights. Pretty good when you're going there right after work and missing dinner. The tire shop is not as busy also. Got my tires rotated while shopping and they were done in an hour. When I bought new tires, they called me back immediately to let me know that there was a problem. Great service from the tire shop. The photo developing is good. I always send them online and the pictures are ready when they say(but I always go an hour after to pick up just to be sure). My favorite thing to buy there is the photo albums...holds 600 pictures for $16!!! read more

This is the easiest costco to get in and out of. I can alway find a great parking spot. Plus the return policy at Costco is great!!!

Do not go on the weekend! The parking lot is filled to the max! I spent like 15 minutes just to find parking in the costco lot. I strongly suggest you park at the Marshalls lot if you want to save yourself from pulling out your hair. read more

Frequently have exactly what I am looking for. Often more. Service is similar to other Costco's. Food court is good - pizzas are really good. Even when they are really busy on the weekend, there is always parking available - but you may have to walk a little. The only reason I'm giving 4 vs 5 stars is that their lines can be really long and slow. read more

This is a nicer Costco in terms of clientele than I am used to in the Bay Area. It's a bit smaller, but, the stuff they sell is slightly nicer. I go during the week either at lunch or after work, and it is average busy. Forget it on the weekends. You could not pay me to stand in line there. That being said, there are some negatives. Their produce is usually not very good. Also, they get a lot of food from Mexico, which is fine, but, we live in California and you can't tell me they can't get access to our domestic produce. THE CARTS IN THE PARKING LOT- this drives me crazy as people do not put the carts in the proper place. As a result, you have wandering carts in parking spaces which is terrible since there is limited parking to begin with. All told however, I do like my Costo experience here. This review is regarding the bakery for the special order birthday cake - one whole sheet is $16.99 and only need one day notice! They have two flavors - white vanilla or chocolate mousse. I ordered one sheet chocolate cake in princess design. It was more than enough for 30 people and everyone loved it at my daughter's bday party! Nice little location, I would have given 5 stars if not for the pharmacy. My doctor called in my prescription on may 1 and i went there may 6 and they said they don't have it. They even gave attitude and have me wait 30 mins to get the other prescription that they have on stock. The lady was just chatting and when she saw me by the counter she said to go away and come back that's why she gave me a time frame and she still have other stuff to do before processing my order. Not a good way to run your business, I will not recommend them at all. For pharmacy go to cvs or walgreens. They have longer hours and I never had bad customer service with the pharmacy department. read more

This review is based on their Optical department. I went to fix my son's glasses yesterday. One of the lens was came off. There was a old lady helping me and I told her I will pick it up after finish shopping. So I went back and asked a young lady for the glasses. She gave me the glasses without saying anything. I checked the glasses and found there was a crack on the lens. I asked her if it is the glue mark or it is a crack. She turned back to talk to the same old lady which she was helping someone else. After a while, she asked me for my phone no. and told me to pick up the glasses in couple weeks. I mean, the service of these ladies are so unbelievably bad for the following reasons: 1. If you broke my glasses, you should put a note on the glasses to inform me OR your co worker so they will inform me. If I haven't discovered it myself, I will just bring the glasses home. Then, when I came back, they probably will say it is not their fault and responsibility because I have already brought home. 2. When they found out it is their fault, they didn't say sorry to me or anything. What the heck. 3. Also, they didn't tell me what they are going to do with my glasses. The young lady just asked me the phone no. and said the glasses will be ready in couple weeks. I did confirmed with her that I don't have to pay for it. She did not give me a receipt or anything. Hopefully I will receive their call later. Besides of their service, their choice of children's frame is limited too. But their manager Kevin's services and techniques is very good though. He always have great smile and excellent services. I like him a lot that's why I keep going back. Hope the other ladies have the great customer service as him. The 3 stars is only for Kevin. I have been going to this Costo since 2003, so I kinda take it for granted in terms of quality and service. My sister who lives in Sac keeps telling me how nice and upscale this Costco is. I personally have had good experience with this Costco, from food court, tire store, to return policy and high quality goods. They must have stocked it according to the area, because we find more higher quality foods and merchandise here ($$$). Some of the check out staff are the fastest in all Costco, especially this one Asian (shorter, with cool hair style). He is FAST! My wife and I always look for him to line up, even if that line is twice as long as the others :). Keep it up Costco Danville! read more

I wanted sing praises for an employee, Lorretta Holmes in the jewelry department at the Danville Costco. I have dealt with her for many years. She has always shown a professionalism that should be noted by management. Her knowledge about the display items is not pushy. She listens to the customers needs and make great recommendations. She gives each customer equal time and is worth waiting for. Sometimes some customers do not want to wait and make rude comments. They do not appreciate all that she brings to the Danville Costco. I like this store's customer service. It is difficult to compare their return policy . Once I had forgot some stuff in the cart late in the evening. After going home I realized I had paid for it but forgot to load it into the car as I was in a hurry. I did not venture to go back later that night as it would not be possible for it to be there in the carts and it would be difficult to search all the carts. Next day I decided to go and ask the store and told them about my predicament and they promptly gave me another set to take homr. No other store would do it. Yes, the crowds could be displeasing but it indicates the store's popularity. The quality of products is reasonably good and their return policy attests to it. read more

This is probably the worst Costco I've ever been to. Employees are rude & feel a sense of entitlement. The manager, Al is truly a nice man but his staff runs the store to the ground. When I have more time, I always drive to the Concord or Livermore location because the staff is so much friendlier & I rather support a store that understands the definition of customer service. read more

Been shopping here ~30 years without any cashier declaring that the name on my Costco ID card did not match the name on my driver's license! (ID card has middle initial while driver's license has full middle name) & therefore unacceptable to use. (Called today to verify if this is true -- nope, they said should be OK just having middle initial on card) Yesterday has been the most humiliating & upsetting experience in my life -- she treated me like I was some criminal, trying to cheat them by using someone's Costco card while insisting that they are protecting my identity which makes no sense. She solicited the team leader and then the manager to further complain about my credentials. From now on, I recommend everyone to avoid this San Ramon Costco on Fostoria and shop at Costco Livermore instead -- do not patronize this store that does not value or treat customers with respect! Parking here is lousy and very dangerous with people competing for car spaces with nearby Marshall/Office Depot shoppers. read more

This review is for Costco's Graber Custom Window Fashions. I was in need of some new window treatments and I chose Costco because it received good reviews in our local Nextdoor. So I called for my complimentary in-home consultation. It was almost two weeks before they could come out, but I figured that was good sign; they were in demand. Well needless to say my appointment with designer Beryl Mccuistion did not disappoint! She was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. I never felt pressured, or hurried. She was very patient. And if that wasn't enough, in the end, when I put in my order, she called her supervisor and painted this beautiful picture of me and my home, and went on to try and get the price down. As I stood by and listened in, it became apparent that even her supervsior was equally interested in bringing the price down. To say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. In the end, much to my delight the price did come down. And once all is said and done, because I have an executive membership I will enjoy the Cash Rewards and a Costco 10% Card. read more

I regularly visit the Danville and San Leandro Costcos and they are different experiences. Parking in Danville is always a challenge, parking is never an issue at San Leandro. The Danville Costco serves a mostly rich, professional clientele (just check out the fancy cars in the parking lot!), and has some additional expensive stuff to serve their sophisticated wants and big wallets. It seems a little bit less crowded (probably because people can't find parking spaces) and the clientele is more "space aware" than at San Leandro--that is, they pay attention to other shoppers and are less likely to block the asiles for extended periods of time for no apparent reason. This last difference is my main reasons to go to Danville over San Leandro. San Leandro serves a less affluent and more international crowd, and does not have all of the fancier stuff you will find at Danville. Simple things are different---you can't get unflavored Calistoga in San Leandro, but no problem in Danville, for example. Slightly more knowledgable folks behind the counter in the photo center in Danville, although both stores offer quite sophisticated printing services if you know how to use them. It is much easier to find empty boxes for your food at San Leandro. Danville seems to make an serious effort to not allow boxes to be used by customers. I now have big bags for Costco shopping that I got at Ikea, so it is not as important as it once was. This was a hassle in the past that actually caused me to avoid this store. The differences are subtle, in the end all Costcos are 90% the same. If you go to Danville, try to go off-hours, as parking really is a substantial issue here during rush periods. You may have to prowl the parking lot waiting for somebody to leave, where you will be in heated competition with Lexus's and BMWs piloted by agressive drivers. read more

I have been recovering from a broken back and the staff at this Danville store always make sure I am taken care of and assist me with getting my purchases to my car. One of my favorite places to go and shop, it's just missing a gas station. Deserted in the evenings, but check-out is not nearly as bad and long as those in SF. I find that the Livermore Costco will have a few things the Danville one will not. Friendly staff, always clean and stocked. I always park near the tire shop, it's easier to come out with your cart and exit the lot on that side. Good return policy, sometimes a long line at returns. Go on a Friday to check out the samples they pass out. Whatever you buy on-line, you can return to a Costco store and you get fuill credit back, including the shipping. I hate clipping the stupid little coupons they mail to you, just give the discounts to everyone and save on the printing and mailing costs. read more

i LOVE costco. i espeically LOVE THIS costco. pretty well organized, nicely stocked and not too crazy. best to get there in the early hours - otherwise prepare for the lines and families milling around. been there on weekdays and it is quite crowded during the lunch hours - lots of moms and kids. staff is generally pretty good as well - more good than rude folks (im thinking of a particularly rude lady at customer service)... gas is available - also best to go really early or really late to avoid the lines. read more

Also, a few times they were out of what I wanted either that or they moved it and I could not for the life of me find it. This is my Costco of choice for general shopping! I live closer to the San Leandro store, but I prefer to do my major shopping at this one. The lines are always shorter, there is always much more merchandise to choose from primarily because of where it is and the type of member who shops here. The only negative to this Costco is as others have said, the parking lot design stinks. The inside more than makes up for the horrible parking lot though. read more

A warehouse full of goodies. I personally like this Costco better than the others around me. Its clean and the staff is nice. A word to the wise... come early to avoid the crowds. I made the mistake going Saturday afternoon... never again. Its extremely crowded and the clientele is rude and let me tell you, watch out for those carts! The parking can be difficult so beware. Overall, the place is great if you need bulk items. Additional tips, the only form of credit Costco takes is American Express. However, they will except debit cards with the Visa or MasterCard logos. Sampling is awesome over the weekends. This is the place to go for bigger quantity at lower prices. Cheap lunch/dinner if you want the $1.50 polish dog with fountain soda, or a $10 whole pizza pie.
