Who can resist going to Costco and not stopping at the food court? ( Not me!). Today after shopping I had to stop by and check out what the food court has to offer. Surprisingly, they have a new chicken , bacon sandwich, along with the classic staples of the famous polish hotdog and drink for $1.50, Sundaes, and Pizza to name a few. I miss those days where they offered the combo pizza with veggies, meat and everything in between. Tonight, i decided to order a pizza to go and didnt realize it probably would have better to call ahead when ordering to save time. Know I know. Ordering is pretty easy, using the kiosks , and your own membership card, use the touch screen to choose what you want, pay for it, grab the receipt and go in line if its a quick bite, or prepare to wait ( in my case for a pizza). Good news is there is plenty of tables to sit and wait. The bad news, the area closest to the pizza pick up is next to the tire and sales shop. So, you are smelling the smell of tires while you wait. No bueno for me, because Im sensitive to that. But if you are not, then by all means. Wait time was told 15-20min. Once its done, take home, grab some paper plates and eat at home. 2 options for pizza are 18" -1. Cheese pizza 2. Pepperoni Pizza. Or 3. Half cheese/Half Pepperoni. Cost: $9.95 If you choose to call ahead to save time and not wait, 949-389-8707 Or, you could always order ahead prior to shopping, and have it ready by the time you are done.

A day in the life of the Costco food court. Amazing!

This Costco food court is great! Fast, friendly service and inexpensive, tasty food that is better than most fast food. I love the hot dogs here drenched in limitless pumped out yellow mustard (so glad they don't have packets) and fresh onions. Yum! I frequently order the giant pizza slices and I always ask them to give me the one that came out of the oven most recently, and they oblige. The latte freezes here are also delicious, with or without chocolate flavored syrup. Plus, it's fantastic that they take AMEX at the food court so you don't always have to have cash on you. This food court is outdoor only. The other Costco in Laguna Niguel (the one closer to Mission Viejo) is mostly indoors. Dress accordingly.

As much as I want to love the Kaleidoscope, I really liked Union Market, and I would return to this spot, just for the adorable small businesses located inside. This space is huge and really cool with a lot of artwork on the walls. There's great potential, but I think malls are a dying breed since covid. This spot has a couple really cool retail stores, including candle making and events with crafts. They also have a good sized bar, hangout areas, foosball, corn hole and more! They even have live music! It was just so sad to see how empty it was and how many businesses have shut down. I'm thinking this space is probably used more for private events.

I recently placed an order through Uber Eats during a "Buy One, Get One Free" promotion and chose to pick it up myself. When I arrived there, I realized that only one item had been included in my order. I immediately brought this to the staff's attention, but instead of trying to help, I was told that the promotion "didn't apply correctly" in the system. The problem is that I had already paid for the order, and the restaurant had received the payment. Even if there was an issue with Uber Eats, it would have taken very little effort and goodwill to honor the promotion and provide the second item that I reasonably expected to receive. Unfortunately, there was no attempt to resolve the situation, and no concern for a customer who has supported this business for many years. I left with an incomplete order. It's sad to end a relationship with a restaurant I've enjoyed for so long, but customer service matters, and this experience showed me that customer loyalty does not.

Pro tip: you can order halva 2-3 days prior and have it made in small individual servings depending on quantity of people . For non persians reading this: God forbid someone has a funeral, memorial service, celebration of life, "halva " is something that is served along with "khorma" dates with walnuts. People like me, dont know how to make it. So its nice to know if that time comes and its needed , its an option to order ahead of time and have the custom items for our tradition to be available. The guy at the cheese/deli counter was also super helpful with me when ordering my feta bulgar cheese. We love our cheese, with walnuts. So since i was trying this one out, i decided to get a small size with the water in a separate container. Overall i like it here. Only issue, is the pricing. Mission ranch market a few miles down is more cost efficient and lower in cost for the value compared to here. So if you need to grab some items its worth coming here as it's closer. But if you are looking to go full in grocery shopping, i think MR market is better in terms of value and quality. Id come here and see for yourself.

It has so much potential to bring so much to the community of Mission Viejo. Management of this property is absolutely horrible. It could be so beautiful and hip, instead it's becoming a ghost town. Nothing ever lasts in this plaza. What's consistently been here has been the movie theaters and the Burke Williams spa. Everything else comes and goes. They can't even fix the escalator which has been broken for many years. The escalator steps are steep, so they're not simple stairs to go up or down if you have mobility issues. There is an elevator behind the spa if needed. I don't know why I never take them. I think I just forget that they're even there. Parking is available at street and underground level. I love going upstairs and really, that's where they could really bring in the money. There are strung lights making it so pretty and there is a fire pit right outside the theater. It really is nice. The union market would be a money maker and I love the concept of multiple food vendors, drinks, desserts, shops, etc. all in one place. Even bring in live music. There are other places with the exact concept and they bring in so much patrons. They're usually poppin' especially Thursday through the weekend. Some of the businesses still there as of May 2026 by memory. You'll need to check their online directory for the rest. 1)Burke Williams - street level inside the parking area 2)Regal Theaters - upstairs 3)Panini Kabob Grill - street level in front of the building 4)Color Me Mine - upstairs 5)Sal's Pizzeria - upstairs 6)Hana Korean BQ - upstairs 7)Mariner's Church - street level 8)Union Market - upstairs Overall I would still support businesses at The Kaleidoscope.
