**Update: Costco fixed the online issue and had great customer service! We like this location! My 4 stars has to do partially with a nightmare experience of ordering an appliance online. We won't be doing that again! This location has a great selection of items and mostly friendly employees! We love going on Saturday and sundays because that's easiest, but obviously you have to plan for lines if that is when you're going to go. The lines are pretty bad all day all weekend, but the employees do a great job getting people through the lines quickly. And Sunday is when they have all of their samples out, so that's always a good addition to the shopping trip! I actually use their optical section as well. The doctor doesn't take my insurance, but the counter where you order contacts and glasses does. I typically go to my normal doctor, but then fill the prescription at Costco. They have a lot of contacts in stock, and if they don't then they can get them ordered to be in the store within the week. One of my favorite parts of this section is that they'll adjust your glasses for free-no matter where you purchase them from! The hearing aide center here is exemplary! The warranty allows you to get stellar service and available appointments. Ron is so patient and does whatever is necessary to get the hearing aids at their peak performance. Stacey and Ivanka are lovely to deal with when making appointments. They have been fantastic in accomodating me on multiple occassions to tweak my volume levels for a new job. Kudos to the hearing aide team! Your service is priceless. The culture at this Cosco is the worst in the valley. I really wish corporate would take a closer look.It completely lacks the customer service That Costco has carried for over the 25+ years that I have been a member. I arrived 5 minutes late to The return counter. An associate finished her conversation with coworkers before coming up to me and saying "can I help you?" in a very curious tone As though there would be any other reason why I was in the return line with a cart containing a HUGE item. Some people are an able to see the obvious, and some people like to act confused so you feel stupid. In her condescending tone, she told me that they were closed. I looked at my watch and I missed it by five minutes. The need to make me feel stupid didn't stop there, because she found it important to point out that since the one side door was closed that means they were closed. Unlike her, the obvious became quite clear to me. Not only the that they were close, but the that she was unwilling to be helpful the moment the clock struck 6pm. Clearly she is one of those employees that cannot wait to lock the customers out. I've had several other rude encounters with employees at this Costco. The staff needs an overhaul. read more

This facility has really really nice staff - I prefer this location rather than one that is closer to us. We have always had a good experience at this location, with plenty of parking and easy fueling station. They get busy on the weekends as does any costco, but it never seems as crowded as some of them, so I prefer it. Their pizza and icecream lunch line goes extrememly quickly and their bathrooms are always clean! Highly recommend this location over other ones. read more

Huge fan of Costco, and my spot for neverending supply of bulk items. It's definitely worth it if you shop frequently for items such as bottled water, cereal, milk, juice, etc. I believe it's worth the membership, and in the end you'll get more than what you think. You can't forget about the samples. Who doesn't love going around, trying out the food samples for a good appetizer before you hit up the food court. Speaking of the food court, that's another reason why I love Costco. Cheap pizza, polish sausage and smoothies. You definitely get the most bang for your buck here. Seriously, what's not to LOVE about Costco? Clothes, food, tires, gas, florist, pharmacy...this store has it all. This particular Costco is always immaculate (with the exception of the clothes area because people are slobs and destroy it). One thing that sets this Costco apart from the ones I have been to on the East Coast is that every day they give out food samples. Back East you could only get samples on the weekends. I've tried some really good stuff (kale, chicken garlic ravioli, pumpkin bread, Vitamix smoothies, coconut snacks, tea) and it has all been delicious. The price of $55 per year for a standard (Gold) membership pays for itself with the discounts in gas alone. As a single girl living on my own, I don't need to buy food in bulk so I basically have the membership for toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, razor blades, and gas. The gas prices are normally 10-20 cents cheaper per gallon than the gas stations in the immediate area and there are 15 or so gas pumps to accommodate people wanting to fuel their vehicles. I definitely prefer Costco to Sam's Club and love coming here. I always walk out with stuff I don't need but simply have to have! Good for Costco, bad for my wallet. read more

Britney at checkout forgot to scan my Mountain Dew. It was picked up on the audit at the exit. The auditor didn't apologize and told me to wait there while they get somebody. Waiting for five minutes 10 minutes and no one came. Wasn't my fault that the checkout person screwed up and I had to wait to buy my product. The auditor seem to not care either. Not only thatThe shelves are very low, the produce didn't have much of a choice, and they didn't have any frozen broccoli. I'll go to the Costco down at Paradise Valley Mall from now on. read more

I freakin love Costco! Since moving to this area over 2 years ago, I am very familiar with this location. My mom & I come here once every 2-3 months & stock up. They have an awesome meat selection! Love getting toilet paper & paper towels in bulk, as well as any cleaning supplies or personal hygiene items. Usually always get water bottles & a case of Dr. Pepper too. The alcohol is a bit cheaper as well so whenever we have a party or get-together we stop by Costco for the booze & sandwich trays/pizza. It's so hard not to spend a ton here though, yesterday we walked out with a $350 total! SOOO worth it though. read more

Let me start by saying Costco has a good reputation for a reason- usually for excellent service, prices and convenience. Having said that, I can attest that this location isn't one of the stores that bolster that reputation. Recently, I ducked in to buy some milk, and on my way out was accosted by an elderly receipt checker who demanded to search my camera bag to "make sure" I didnt shoplift anything. Much to my shame, I hadn't shoplifted, but I'm thinking that needs to change on my next visit. After being forced to set my purchase on the floor, I then proceeded to show Grandma Moses that there was no room for anything except air in it- something that seemingly only irked her even more. (For the record, I was dressed nice, well groomed, and even smelled good.) What's galling is the fact that this same door warrior let five people with backpacks through without giving them a second look as I walked up. When I pointed this out, I was told (in a tone that you use for retarded six year olds) that in the future I should keep my stuff in my car in their un-patrolled parking lot if I didnt like their policy. A policy she wasn't following- a fact I gleefully pointed out. The look she gave me was as if I had just asked my grandmother to program my cell phone. Total deer in the headlights. Seeing that I was getting nowhere, I scooped up my purchase, dropped it off at home, and then swung back to talk to a manager. Note to self: remember that adage about people rising to their incompetence, and apply it to this store's management team. I had to explain myself once to a nice kid at the member desk, who then found me the asst. manager, a brunette who giggled the entire time I was speaking, and apparently couldn't stop smiling either. She acknowledged the lack of consistency, and the double standard of not searching large bags carried by women, but stated she wasn't going to "do" anything about it. So I move on to the general manager named Carolyn, an earthbound version of Jabba the Hutt, who mouthed platitudes but also acknowledged that she was also going to not really do anything either. The best part? Standing there with her for ten minutes watching the door employees let people go out with unchecked large bags right IN FRONT OF THEIR DAMN BOSS WHO WAS WATCHING THEM DO SO. I don't know about you, but if my boss was hovering over me, I make it a point to do my damn job as close to perfect as I can. Oh yes... they follow policy all right. I could've walked a flat screen out of this place, and I don't think they would have noticed, yet my seven inch wide, two foot long back-zippered camera bag can hold all the treasures that this store offers, and therefore I needed to be treated like a criminal for doing absolutely nothing. At no point did Orca the Landwhale even try to keep my business- she just kept saying that it was odd that the employees she trained weren't following her set policies, yet all she did was stand there and watch it happen. I work for CDS at this Costco. I have asked Spencer as he was doing trash collection if he could take some boxes for me, his answer was "no, I'm busy!! OK, so I know he works for Costco he didn't have to take my boxes but yesterday after my shift was over I became a "Costco customer". I asked an employee if they could please call someone to lift a ceramic planter in my cart. Spencer was walking by and she asked him if he could please lift this in my cart, which would have taken 2 seconds & he said "NO"!!! Pharmacy is probably just as bad as Walgreens or even worse. I guess they don't know how to communicate and let you know there's a problem until you get there in person and even still they can't address the problem you have to call their phone number even though you're standing right in front of them. I guess they called the provider one time and didn't get a call back but they don't have any process to call again? Or maybe let me know there's a problem so I can fix it? Then I'm standing right in front of the pharmacist to relay to my provider what the problem is and she's speaking all over the place so I ask her to just talk to my provider and she gets all rude and makes the provider call the number. I don't understand how this is helpful at all. I only came here because it was cheaper than target but I'll go back to target after this just so I don't have to deal with all of this over a dang prescription. I actually have come to this location quite often however yesterday was the first time I decided to "check in" Costco... great selection, but they can be pretty expensive. Especially if you are trying to budget. It seems that no matter how hard I try, I always spend a minimum of around $50 and always only seem to have a few items in my cart. Oh well. Yes some items are definitely cheaper at their rival locations but you definitely get more of a selection at Costco. In the food section, the servers have to call the order numbers louder. We ordered two pepperoni pizzas. We were told it would be 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, I went to the window to discover that our order had been sitting there for about 5 minutes. I never heard my order number be called. Also, I saw another customer who had ordered two hot dogs. After calling out "two hot dogs" once, the server returned the hot dogs to the preparation table. Oh Costco, you are the bane of my existence. I try to get in and out just with diapers and wipes, however this has been proven impossible in the past two and a half years. Love the free samples they give out. Sunday's are the best days for those. Only open till 8 most days though, so get in early! Their customer service is almost always amazing, the company treats their employees well, and it is definitely noticed how much most of the workers love their job. My husband and I enjoy going to Costco just to walk around. There have been many Saturday afternoons where we were bored and just decided to go to Costco to see what samples they have, and to get a Polish dog and churro. My favorite Costco in the valley. Walking in your always greeted by someone nice and personable. My wife and I were walking past the different selections of meat and noticed they were a little low on rib-eyes. One of the butchers noticed we were looking a litter harder and opened the sliding glass door and asked if he could help. We told him what we were looking for and within 2 minutes he cut us a 4 pack and off we went. We generally like to visit this Costco after 6:30 because the store isn't the busiest.
