How can one not love Costco? As a kid growing up, this place was heaven. My lunch consisted of eating all the samples that they had out there, until one of the sample ladies would scold me for taking too many samples. Even though I have grown up, I always get excited coming here for the samples, and for the food that they sell. My faves: $1.50 polish sausage hot dog $1 churros combo pizza slices chicken caesar salad chicken bake everything else on the menu I wouldn't mind coming here just for lunch. The lines for the gas station outside can be crazy though, so I usually go to the Lynnwood Costco for gas instead. read more

I love the people but not the crowds! We do not need a lot of bulky products but Costco has options for a smaller household these days. Last time I was here the lines where crazy long after the Christmas rush is over. this is good new for our economy but I think they need to open a new store in the area to take away some of the stress on the store and the employees. the supervisors wearing the red vests can be very stressed out which shows when they are busy. if you listen while in line you can hear the employees and supervisors talking....that aside it is my favorite Costco. maybe more employees would be a good answer? Hire people please. DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE ...that is one thing I would stay away from. another tip or idea write a review while you are there for an employee who gives good service or bad they, the employees say the managers pay close attention to these notes. they can use a pat on the back. This review in only pertinent to Tire Center... Had a bad blow-out in my Volvo S60. Got the car towed to the Tire Center right as they were opening. Tech let tow truck know where to drop my car, went to look at stock availability(I bought these tires 6 months ago @ Woodinville Costco), and had my car on a lift in 15 minutes. Unfortunately, screws were found in another tire, and that was replaced, too. In at 10(no appointment), out at 11:30, 2 new tires, nothing out of pocket. And I did not go spend 300 bucks at Costco while I waited. Sat and watched Ms beat Nationals. Yay. Side note: Y'all driving around the Costco parking lot really gotta get over the cranial-rectal inversion thing. Isat outside for ~45 minutes and saw so many wierd/inattentive moves. I returned to this Costco again over the weekend after months and months away and rediscovered why I love this place. Costco is the place you go for large quantities of fairly inexpensive items. I tend to go here for things like flour, sugar, rice, and soy sauce. Those items with a long shelf life that I use a lot. The thing I do not like about Costco is they have a very limited selection. They do not carry vegetarian refried beans, canned soups, or vegetable stock/broth. These items are all meat based or chicken stock/broth. Considering Seattle has a large vegetarian community I would think these items would sell if stocked. However they have begun carrying a number of products in organic varieties which I appreciate. Another amazing thing about Costco is they carry good quality clothes for children at affordable prices. If you need a special occasion dress for a little girl check here. For the price of an item at Target you will get a much better quality outfit. I bought my nieces Easter dress here and was blown away by the quality. I paid only $22. The checkers and staff are hard to find accept at checkout or those sample stations. When you track them down they tend to be uncaring. SODO Costco has much better customer service. The checkers are fast if unfriendly. Overall I like Costco. I bake a lot as a way of saving my family money and this place makes it possible to keep costs down. read more

Not pleased at all with the Costco pharmacy. I stopped in a week ago with a prescription. After giving the pharmacy all the relevant info for a prescription they'd filled before, they said, "this will take an hour, can you wait?" This sounded reasonable (and well-informed) enough, but I said I'd just return in a few days. I returned a week later and found they'd done nothing to follow up on the prescription, other than to say they'd not received a fax from my doctor. I'm pretty sure they faxed to the wrong number and/or failed to follow up in any reasonable way. Because I was traveling the next day I waited around for more than an hour. I also talked with the doc's office twice. Eventually I had to leave, but called back 7 hours later, still no prescription. Now having to travel for a week without the meds. Costco is ok for stuff that doesn't matter, not so much for stuff that does. Pay extra and get the service and follow through that comes with it when you need to. read more

I am a big Costco fan. They have great deals and tons of delicious food. And an awesome return policy! I usually end up spending WAY more here than I really should, but how can I pass up gigantic packages of falafel or enough toilet paper to last me through a nuclear holocaust? SAMPLES = win. When I was little, I used to love going to Costco with my parents on weekends because I could just run up and down the aisles trying all the samples. Plus, as a kid, you don't feel weird about going back and getting another sample of the cream puffs. I still love getting samples now...I just can't take as many as I used to! The berry sundae at their food eatery is sooo delicious. And super cheap! There are a couple cons to this location: traffic/parking sucks. It's very difficult to find spots and there are always tons and tons of people blocking the lanes with their huge carts of purchases. The other con is the lines can often be insanely long. This, of course, mostly happens when I have like three items to buy. Best time to visit this place is early in the morning on a weekend. Not very many people get up early with the plan of hitting up Costco, so the place is usually very empty and lines are quick and easy. read more

Never been in any other Costco so I don't have much to compare. This target seems to always be extremely busy. The parking lot and store are like mazes, you need to navigate carefully. If not you will definitely run into something or someone. One thing I don't like is the setup. It's a little random and I don't like that they don't have anything that tells you what is down each aisle. The bathrooms are also pretty unpleasant too. I hope I can find a time to go to avoid the crowds. read more

This used to be one of my favorite stores but in the past month I've gotten stinking rotten black cod (my fault for not checking the pull date) and loads of rotten premium fruit. There's always at least one organic Fuji out of 9 that goes bad in the molded plastic clamshell, and a third of a 5 lb bag of organic mandarins got green mold within two days. I went to return the mandarins last night. It wasn't an anomaly; other organic mandarin bags had moribund fruit and several Fuji packs with a brown rotten apple visible thru the plastic bottom. But much worse were the two male associates, one bearded, whose masks hung off their faces like loose diapers. The bearded guy was stacking apples in the busy produce section with a good 1/2" gap between the mask and his nose and face. The other was stocking a likewise busy frozen food aisle. Bad food; dangerous air... I think I'll cut my visits to Costco and shop at places where the associates are appropriately masked and the fruit is fresher. read more

Who doesn't love Costco? The prices, products and service are always top notch. The thing about this Costco though is their confusing parking situation. Their parking lot bumps up against the parking lot for Home Depot and they clearly don't want you parking there. The problem is that if you aren't familiar with this location, it's easy to park in the wrong place and have it be a huge hassle to get into the store. This is not my primary Costco so I seem to encounter issues with this every time I shop here. read more

More toilet paper than I will ever need! Dearfoam slippers for $9! Free samples of food! CHURROS! Opportunity to walk an extra 1/2 mile or so to and from my car! 100 pair of socks! All for $200! If you have never been to Costco, go. Check in at the front desk and tell them you aren't a member but are considering it and will they let you shop for the day? They will give you a one-time pass, you'll spend $300 or so, on amazing stuff you never knew you needed. Seriously, the stuff there is incredible. The gas is cheap too. read more

When I have the urge to buy 500 sandwich baggies, 40 rolls of TP, or 5lbs of colby jack I head there. The bad thing is that every once and a while I get hooked on a product I buy there (like this body soap I found one time) and after I go through it and need some more (like a year and a half later) they don't carry it anymore. That sucks. Go during off hours to avoid waiting in long checkout lines. Good return policy. I get why they don't accept CC's, but it sucks so I knocked off a star. read more

Used to go to the Costco in SODO but this one's closer and less frenetic traffic wise (well, sorta). Only ended up here on a Sunday noon (this is NOT a recommended time to go to Costco) as Seattle was going through a sweltering heat wave and I had no fans in the house. Called first (Home Depot and Lowes both out), were told there were a few left (guy on the other end answered promptly and gave me the prices for both products and a good description of each). I'm always floored by Costco service; they're always friendly and helpful - especially the staff at this store. Of course, one doesn't ever buy JUST one product when visiting Costco, so ended up with a cartful of crap (which always includes toilet paper and wine - I can start my own toilet paper and wine store). Also filled up on the food demo stuff, some of which is getting to be pretty good, in my opinion (Chicken Basil meatball - doesn't pale in comparison to TJ's!) I hate Costco! No, I love Costco! Wait, no, I hate Costco! You get the idea. I travel to Costco about once a month, usually for basic staples: dog food/treats/toys, TP, and paper towels. Or a 70-inch TV. My love/hate experiences are as follows: Loves: *I save ~$20/bag on the lamb & rice dog food at Costco, and the ingredients are better than the name brand I used to purchase. *Now that we have a garage, I can store the Costco-sized TP and paper towel products, making my purchases for these sundry items less frequent than when we lived in a condo. And I spend less dinero. *Gas is 25-50 cents per gallon cheaper than the station near our house. *When our TV broke down last year, we found the least expensive price on a specific model at Costco. *Husband Stephen J. is a sucker for Mission brand burrito tortillas, and I can get 40 of them for $6. I know everyone is interested in the following detail: the tortillas are packaged in two separate bags, so half of them can be frozen while Stephen's working on the other half. Hates: *Navigating the parking lot, either as a car driver or a pedestrian. I feel like a cat who has used up eight of her nine lives trying to avoid death-by-SUV. *R-r-r-r-r-r-e-e-e-e-e-e-a-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-y-y-y-y-y slow customers. Seriously, don't they think others might be behind them when they are craning their necks to the left and the right as they barely move their carts down the middle of the store aisles? I especially love it when they stop unexpectedly. Pull over, people. *Waiting: waiting in line to check out, waiting in line for an employee standing at the exit to confirm I did indeed purchase four whole items, waiting in line to buy gas, etc. *10am opening/9:30am on the weekends. I could easily avoid most of the other items on my "hate" list if there was an earlier opening time. I haven't had the unpleasant employee-related experiences that other Yelpers have described, thankfully. I think that would push me over the edge. And I've already used up eight of my lives. read more

I don't know how they do it. Even when I go in just to return something, I'll end up purchasing more stuff. The "I'll just take a quick look around" idea never works- and I never learn my lesson. What I really like about Costco are their samples- although it promotes bad cart parking habits. The middle of the aisle is not a good place to leave your cart while running off to sample granola! Second, what can be better than a $1.50 hot dog and drink?! Besides their amazing hot dog/drink combo, you can find many, many items at great prices. The items I find most handy are things that are non-perishable. I don't buy a lot of food at Costco because I can't eat 50 pot pies before freezer burn sets in. Lastly, what I love about Costco is their customer service. I hardly return things, but I feel so much better about purchasing an item if I know I won't get hassled if I bring it back. Oh man, I love Costco. 3 pound bag of cut up broccoli? Check. 5 pounds of prime steak? Check. Food Saver vaccuum sealer? Check. This is a good place to stock up on paper products, cleaners, and garbage bags as the bulk prices bring the cost down, and there's little chance such things would spoil or go unused. Beware the appliances aisle, lest you come home with something cool you don't really need. The people working at Costco are always positive and helpful. Even when the lines are crazy long it never feels like they are not moving - those checkers are quick! Okay, great prices, too much of everything... yada, yada. It's Costco! That's my review. Now, for a rant and story. RANT: What happens to people's sense of personal space when they walk into a Costco? All the rules of public protocol go out the window. These are not bumper carts, people! Do you see those five pallets of backup mayonnaise above the one you just ran me over to get to!? And what happens to people when the opportunity for a paper cup full of free food presents itself? Have you ever watched these people? Some poor old lady in a hair-net making minimum wage tries to get her sales pitch out before some uber-breeder tries to feed their rugrats dinner from the tray of toothpick-skewered meatballs. There's something primal afoot at the Costco. Anthropologists should be called in. STORY: I was walking into Costco one day and I wanted to finish my cigarette, so I stayed outside for a few minutes while my friend walked in. As I walked in, I told the socially-challenged greeter/guard that my friend had just walked in ahead of me. I was then informed that I would not be allowed to pass. In these situations, it's hard for me not to laugh. I could tell by the look on the greeters face, that this was no laughing matter for him. Policy clearly dictates that no entry is allowed without seeing a piece of plastic with the Costco logo on it. At this point, I guess I hadn't quite grasped how dearly this man held that particular policy, so I just repeated myself and started to walk in. Now, I can't say this guy stood in my way. But he did make a quite sudden move in my direction and loudly proclaimed, "Sir! You can not enter without a card!" And I did stop... for a moment. More taken aback by the new level of intensity than anything. And then, of course, I smiled and proceeded forward to find my friend; because the only thing funnier than this situation would be getting tackled by a group of Costco employees trying to prevent me from browsing. Because if I really didn't have a card... that's all I could do. So, about five steps later, an even louder," Sir! You can not enter without a card!" Mind you, he hasn't moved from his original space. And, yeah, I keep walking. "Sir! Sir! Stop! Sir!" Each one louder than the previous until I am literally out of eyesight from the individual. I seriously expected the Costco Sphincter Squad to accost me ( which would have been hilarious). But then I remembered, when was the last time you could find a Costco employee to do anything for you. I guess that extends to the staff support as well. You wouldn't know it from my review, but my star rating reflects it... for a monolithic monstrosity of a temple to unabashed consumerism, this place isn't bad. read more

This was my first time getting new tires, and a few of my friends have gotten tires at Costco before, so I took their recommendation. I came in on a Monday mid-afternoon, and there was no customers - score! (I was afraid of a long wait, but I do recommend going in on a weekday to avoid wait times, etc.) The customer rep asked me for my car model, what kind of tires I was looking for (seasonal, pricing, etc), & gave me two selections for all seasonal tires for my corolla. (Michelin or Bridgestone). Another score, was that Costco had a $70 off any Bridgestone tires..so I took that set of tires. (There is a installation charge for each tire $14, and a $1 fee per tire for disposal). Transaction was quick I probably was in there for less than 10 minutes, estimated wait time was 30 minutes. Went into the Costco store to do my shopping, came out & was done. The next day, I turned on my car, noticed the tire pressure light on. Didn't think too much, since I thought it was the new tires adjusting, etc. Drove to work, got out of the car and noticed the right back tire was a little deflated...weird. Came out again during lunch break, and my entire tire was flat! Uh oh...a bit upset, since It was less than 24 hours and I already had a flat! (It could not be that I drove over a nail, or something sharp to cause that...after all, I luckily somehow made it to work). Called the tire center, told me to bring it in...thank goodness I had a spare...it would be awful if I had to call AAA or have it towed...came back to Costco, and this time it was a 1.5 hour wait! Bummer! Ok, fine, I couldn't do anything about that, so tried to kill some time again in the store. Got a call back about 30 minutes later, and said my turn would be delayed by another 30 minutes, because a employee got into a car accident while backing out a car from the garage and bumped into another car...wow. Anyway, came out about 2 hours later, saw my car already done outside the parking lot...where was my call back?? Went in to ask, and apparently it JUST got done 5 minutes ago. I asked for the cause of the flat...the guy couldn't really give me a answer, but did clarify that it had nothing to do with my car, there was no holes, tears, etc. Was it a installation error? He said probably not... but maybe it was the tire itself... Ok? It probably was a installation error I'm thinking, but they didn't want to admit to it. Left with a new replaced tire, without charge (of course, since it was Costco's error). The only downside was the wait time... and I got lucky for having a spare tire with me... Remember to always keep one in your car! I'm satisfied with the experience, despite the tire error.. and the bonus coupon for $70 off. I shall see how the product lasts! read more

It's a typical Costco. You have to pay attention and not get sucked in to buying items you really don't need. This is a busy shopping center that shares its parking lot with Home Depot, Starbucks, Petco among others, plus it has a gas station. I found all the staff helpful and fairly friendly. There were lots of samples for the tasting. I wish Costco would change its checkout strategy to use a single wrapped line going to the next available cashier instead of allowing lines to form at each register -- it's difficult to navigate the checkout around the merchandise and all the other shoppers trying to get to the other side of the store. The gal who was checking carts at the exit was really good at reviewing the carts; she could count the number of items instantaneously and everyone was able to walk out with little slow down. Overall, a great Costco to visit. read more

It's crowded and takes forever to get to from most of Seattle, but when you need A LOT of anything, CostCo is the way to go. I don't buy produce here because I simply can't get through it fast enough, but the frozen food section has been a lifeline for me in busy weeks. I like to stock up on the frozen salmon filets (and they have wild salmon at this location!) as well as shrimp, plus frozen fruit for smoothies. They have fairly cheap essentials like olive oil as well-- I'd buy more if my apartment had more storage. If you're in the market for electronics, CostCo usually has great prices. I've bought a TV and an iPod previously from different locations. Important note: American Express, cash, or debit only. No other credit cards accepted. read more

This place makes me want to kill myself but also makes me want to save my own life so I usually come out unscathed. Our house is old, built in 1904, and we don't have a whole lot of pantry-space so we don't use Costco too often but when we do, I often want to buy a television set or a tent that has multiple rooms in it. Being a pescetarian, I noticed that they had a ton of toilet paper in the very back. First time I came here, many years ago, one of my friends hit another one of my friends really hard on the arm. This is my favorite Costco in the area. The good The employees are quite friendly most of the time. They are generally helpful. They usually have their products in stock and their produce is fresh. The checkers are fast. The not so good The parking lot is a nightmare - the past 2 times I've almost been run over by ladies driving Honda CRV's - no lie. 2 different women, too. So I caution you, watch out because the drivers are not watching for pedestrians! The aisles are a little tight. The checkstands tend to be a little congested, even when everyone is open. read more

Hotdogs, samples and stuff oh my. Costco is a consumers paradise. Where else can you get $1.50 hot dogs and soda. $1 lattes. Aisles full of samples and some of the best prices on groceries. Two gallons of milk for $4. 2 Dozen eggs for $2 6lbs of Chicken breast for $13. If you;ve got a large family this is a great place to pick up the staples. Tire service was absolutely appalling! Made simple tire change appointment at 11, didn't get to meet with us until 11:30, tried to sell us tires that they didn't have in stock (though inventory said they did) and ended up sending us to the Lynwood location to pick them up ourselves! To make matters worse, they promised (after some argument) that our car would be seen once we brought the tires back and instead they stuck us behind everyone else who had appointments after us. This place is BUSY! I hate busy places...makes me all social anxiety like or something and this place is packed! But it's COSTCO so it's good selection...fresh and price is on par with quantity. The customer service as always been good though at any location I've been too but this one is one step above the rest. Any saving or add-on items that I forget to get they just say hurry back over there after they ring me up and grab it before you head out. read more

I kind of like the place. However, I didn't like how the customer service rep. Aden who signed me up kept yapping forever about deal after deal w/ the membership sign-up. It took 30 whole minutes before I was shopping. Plus she has a mustace so that made me giggle and smile back at least. Besides that the place is generally competitive in wholesale. Come on people it's not wal-mart here. This place has "some" of the best foods at pretty good prices. I shop for healthy food so you'll find plenty of that there. I love their food stand. What can I say....Costco rules! My husband and I went to get a laptop and he found one he really liked. It was a great price, plus there was a coupon for an additional $100.00 off. I had forgotten the coupon book and asked one of the associates if they had spare coupon books. She was nice and helpful, but explained that they no longer have extras to give out. This was mildly annoying, but truthfully, understandable. It's easy to imagine how this might be abused. The quick dash home was well worth it, and now he has a snappy HP notebook with every conceivable bell and whistle. Office Max in the same plaza wanted $150.00 more for the exact model. The deli department is also outstanding, but they are in the process of doing a remodel so there wasn't a roasted chicken to be found. This is a real bummer when you're hungry. In addition to the roasted chickens they also have baby back ribs, Spinach salads, Caesar salads and numerous dinner entrees. Excellent food, generous portions and, of course, terrific prices. The food court saved the day and took care of our noisy stomachs. They crank out pizzas like mad, so you're guaranteed to get a fresh and tasty slice. (Or a whole giant pizza for a measly 9.95.) They also have hot dogs, turkey roller sandwiches, baked chicken Caesar sandwiches, and a smaller version of the deli Caesar salad that's still big enough for two to share....I didn't, but it is possible. If you still have room for dessert there's ice cream sundaes, ice cream bars covered with nuts, churros and mocha's frozen or hot. There is usually a long line, but the crew moves like a well oiled machine, so the wait isn't too bad. The only unfortunate thing about the food court is the garb that is required for employees with facial hair. It's this silly white puffy thing that covers them from just under their nose to the top of their neck. The first time I saw this I thought the employee has some contagious illness and I didn't want him to wait on me. The best time to shop at Costco is either early morning or later in the evening. Weekends are like Christmas Eve on steroids. And finally, thank God they don't take credit cards. If they did I would have a hot tub, a giant cover for the camper, a jungle gym, and a new desktop computer. read more

It's Costco, what can you expect. Nice wide parking spots that fill up immediately after opening. After successful parking, it's a mob scene inside. You are lured by wonderful prices on more than larger than life portions. After justifiying that you will use/eat/NEED a case of whatever, you leave full from eating samples and about $250 lighter. First let me say that I Love Costco! So lowering the rating to two stars makes me feel terrible, but I must do it because of what happened to me there today. I was looking at a watch to buy at Aurora Village Costco and a worker asks me if he could show me a watch in the display case. I was excited to try on the watch because I've been looking at it for my last six visits and this time I could actually see myself wearing it. It looked GREAT!, I was going to buy it until I asked the worker if he could size it for me and set the time, he told me he could'nt that I could take it to a Jeweler and they could set it up for me. Well I'm thinking about all the extra expenses that would be. I have a Tag watch and ever time I take it in for work they charge me at least a Hundred Dollars, so I declined the watch and probably will have to buy it at the Bon or Nordstroms. I am thinking about some tires, a set of four for my car and was going to purchase them at Costco.... I hope I don't have to take them to Les Schwab to get them balanced and installed!? read more

A friend took me with here as I've never been to Costco before. Well... I don't think that I missed much. A big warehouse, even bigger packages of everything (not that sizes and packages aren't big enough here in the US ^^), plan industrial warehouse design and security checkpoints that give you the feeling they sell diamonds in plastic bags. I know these kind of stores from germany but never got quite into that "industrial" and "business" kind of shopping feeling. This Costco location is in the Shoreline district right on the border of the Edmonds area. It is my favorite one even though the 'downtown' Seattle location may be a little closer as the parking lot seems easier to navigate and the gas station a little easier to get out of as well. The store itself is pretty clean although the layout of each Costco seems to be just a tad bit different from the others. This one has the paper products in the back of the store and a coffee grinder at the front of the store by the food court. You can't go wrong with some of the deals but be weary of the meat department as not all things are 'deals' just because you bought them in bulk. My husband & I can't possibly finish 6 lbs of hamburger meat or 'need' that much! The food court is always great for a pizza slice ($1.99) and a soda for $0.59 to wash it down with.
