We pulled over to the Costco tire center and Dustin, in the tire shop, helped us by showing us how to read the pressure gauge and use the air pump, explained cold/hot pressure and how our ABS system detects and warns us with the tire light. I looked around for some new tires for my Avalon for about a few days. Costco had the best price as well as reviews from other customers for the tires. I bought my car used and it came with crap Walmart tires. They were brand new when I got the car and they only lasted 12,000 before developing bulges on the sidewall. As for the service crew you can expect your run of the mill tire service crew. They are good at their jobs but they don't want to be working on a Sunday nor more than I want to be here either. No small talk, they get straight to work and get you on your way. read more

New tires installed today, driving home tire pressure warning comes up. They filled both passenger side tires at 59psi, both left side 39psi. Double checked at home and readings correct, then noticed dirty thick grease all rims. Widow tag indicated 35psi on all tires. Tires have gray stuff all over outside of tires, guess they don't clean prior. Any way, come on Costco hire the right people and manage what they are doing. read more

Sand City Costco tire center is the best. I am always treated with kindness and they always seem to get me in, in between appointments. I normally just go there, walk to the beach, and come back within 45 minutes. (I had a nail in my tire that created a slow leak) As I headed home, I felt the need to contact a friend that's a manager inside Costco, just to see who helped me out. She told me by my description of him his name was Juan! Thanks Juan! And all staff! I will always recommend you Sand City Tire! As well as the store! Always a great experience!! read more

ZERO STAR Always had a great experience with Costco Tire Center and Costco in general but this location is not professional nor kind. We found this location about 5 mins away from the road because 1 of our rear tires had a small nail punctured, new tire and nothing tear or flat. Instead of helping us, they turned away and said that they don't do anything like that here!! I was so disappoint, can you believe that a Costco tire center can't temporarily patch up a nail ?!? I noticed this draft I started writing when I went to the Sand City Costco Tire Center last year. I didn't finish it, but I will finish my story now. The guy noted on the paragraph below this one was at the front desk at this location. He was a complete punk, I'll explain. After what happened, as described in the paragraph below, I went into Costco's main store and asked for the General Manager. He was located, and I explained what happened to me in the Tire Store. I could see his frustration, and he said what I had been told was ridiculous. He called the Tire area and asked for what I assumed was the Manager to come over. The Manager came over, and the General Manager asked if a specific person was at the Tire desk. He said yes, that person was at the Tire desk. I got the impression that the punk was a problem. They took care of everything, got my tires in the following day, and I had a great experience with the Tire area where tires are replaced. I shop at Costco, and another time I saw the punk walking in the parking lot, he still works there. I don't think they understood that this young man was a complete misogynist who uses his position to harass and simply not do his job if he's assisting a woman. Well... It's time for me to get two new tires again. I hope I won't run into the punk, but I'll return to the General Manager (poor guy) if he's present. I've given this review four stars because the General Manager and Tire Store Manager were great, took me seriously, and fixed the issue immediately. I wonder how the two women in front of me in line during my initial contact would rate their experience. I just had a bad experience at this Costco Tire Front Desk today. Upon arriving, I told the front desk person that I needed to drive out of town on Thursday (3 1/2 days) & that my light for low air on one tire had come on, told him when I checked it, I saw that it was bald. He asked me what type of car I had, and gave him a year, make & model, he said that was "unhelpful"; he needed to go out to my car, which was fine. Upon checking it out, he said I needed to get four new tires, I told him I could only afford 2. He said it was the car maker's policy to get four tires when purchasing tires. He also told me it would take a week to two weeks to get the tires in. I had already told him I needed to leave town in 3 days. This guy was power tripping with me, and I had noticed two women in line in front of me leave exasperated and without getting the service they needed. I went in to the tire center and at a good deal, purchased a full set of Michelin brand tires. As the particular tires purchased were not in stock and had to be ordered, I was given a future appointment date/time to return for the installation. Installation Day: Appointment time: 2:00 PM Vehicle in: 2:04 PM Vehicle out: 2:28 PM! Considering the large volume of customers that Costco has, I went to the installation appointment prepared for a substantial wait but happily and surprisingly, Costco proved me wrong as I never thought I'd be in & out in less than 30 minutes. Great customer service and timeliness contributed to an overall pleasant experience; highly recommend. read more

Outstanding service. Got a flat tyre and drove straight to Costco to see if I they could repair it at 5pm on a Saturday. They were pretty busy but said they'd try to fit me in. Went shopping at Costco and got a call an hour so later saying the car was ready! They even put the emergency tyre, jack etc back in the car neatly. Everything back in its place. Costco Salinas went above and beyond and the tyre repair was even covered under warranty. What an amazing place! read more

Tire center at this costco is absolutely the worst. The manager should literally be fired. This location is a stain on costco's customer friendly reputation. I delivered my tires here and I have been trying to make an appointment by phone for four days. They never pickup calls, and if they do, they just say please be on hold and ignore you forever. I finally gave up and went to to the store and the manager is making a queue of people wait. He just disappeared into the garage until we gave up and left without an appointment. Just awful customer service at this location. I have been buying tires from costco for decades and never experienced such neglect of customers. read more

Experienced the worst customer service at this place. Went to buy four new tires and the guy at the counter was annoyed, belittled me and kept cutting me off when I tried to ask questions. This man could not confirm that I would have new tires within three weeks. No other solutions offered, just arrogant ego bs. I got the feeling he didn't want to sell or do anything. Went a few blocks down to Newton Brothers and they were super easy and pleasant to deal with. Had my new tires the next day and couldn't be happier. Saved $20, too. Had a great experience at the Costco Tire Center. I went into Costco for windshield wipers. The first time I went I was helped by someone who checked to make sure that I had the right measurements for my car, if they had them in stock, and the price point at that time. Then he proceeded to make sure I could find them in the Costco warehouse. I was told by many that they were good and easy to put on. I struggled to put them on and even asked a couple of friends to try. I went back and asked if anyone had the time to help me. George was there and had great customer service.
