We stopped by in town to get gas before heading up to big bear with our RV. We noticed that one of our RVs tire thread start to split. We called Geico's emergency roadside assistance and waited for about an hour to get a dispatch. We called again and they still haven't found one. Luckily, we found Cota's tire service and they are so helpful. They changed the tire to our spare for $20 and he even helped us get out of the driveway easily. The owner is very unprofessional. I tried to help him on jack placement on the bottom rockers of my car because does not have marked lift points. He told me he has done tires for 40 years and he knew what he was doing. I backed off and let him do his thing. He then says that my car has no lift points, so I again explained the reason why I was trying to help him. I should have left but stayed out of respect to the guy. He changed my tires and replaced the wheels back on my car. I later checked my wheels when I get home and I notice he cracked the powder coating on my wheels on the inner lip of one of my wheels and surface scratches where along all the lips of the wheels. I was able to clean and buff out most of the surface scratches but the crack was obviously permanent. Yeah I should have checked them when I was at the shop but I trusted he knew how to change a tire and not damage a wheel. I went back and found the powder coating particles next to the machine which confirmed he was responsible. He was a prick about it. It wasn't worth my time sitting there arguing with him. Even his shop assistant nodded his head to me as I left, insinuating he knew the owner was responsible. read more

First time here and the owners son JR was very friendly and informative about what I needed. Did not inspect for any extra issues just got straight to the point on the problem I had explained to him. He listened and took action right away and let me know it was a cylinder problem and I also wanted an oil change. I love that he gave me options for the oil change of course I chose the higher quality for more miles. As JR worked on the car he would check in with me here and there to explain what he was doing which gave me a peace of mind. He gave me a very reasonable price and for that I'm especially grateful!! I was only there maybe and hr and a half and before I walked off the lot JR put a little extra fluid in so that I'd be all set and showed me where he put the new part in the car so that I'd be able to show my pops if I wanted. Next day I went back, two employees were there at 8:35, NOT one employee approached me to ask if they could help me, they saw me and didn't say a word but instead went to circle K for coffee. I would recommend Cota's Tire Service to anyone looking for fast dependable, quality service. My wife and I recently moved to the neighborhood. She needed brakes and an oil change desperately. We had contacted several mechanics in the neighborhood that had good ratings on Yelp. They either never responded with a quote as promised or didn't keep their appointment. Monday was a perfect example. I had scheduled an appointment with a mechanic at another shop up the street from Cota's for 9am when they first opened. It got to be 9:30 and the mechanic still wasn't there. That's when we decided to try Cota's. Cota's took us immediately without an appointment and got our car back to us the same day. The brake job was extremely well done and the oil change made the car run a lot smoother. He even charged 300 dollars less than the mechanic up that street. I got a flat up in big bear. None of the shops carries my tires. I had a friend driving up the mountain. I called Cota and they had a tire. They had a used one. I asked him how many miles on the tire and he said he didn't know. That should have been a giant flag! By the time I got the tire and took it to the shop, the guy could NOT Mount the tire bc it was completely dry rot. It was cracked in the middle of the tire throughout the entire tire. Cota should have never sold the tire and the fact that he was willing to mount it if my car was there is frightening!! Driving an suv in the mountains with a dry rot tire would have been a disaster! He just not trustworthy to sell a tire that wasn't functional. I mean he made $40 bucks but to think that he was willing to slap that tire on my car... yelpers... THINK TWICE!!!! Came to this place to get my tire patched for $15 dollars and the next morning it was flat again. I didn't bother calling them or even coming back to this place and I don't plan on ever coming back. I ended up going to Norco speedy tires and they had informed me that my tire had no sign of ever being patched. If it wasn't for them I would of never know my tire hadn't even been patched. We hit some rocks coming down the road from Big Bear and Mentone was the first city we hit after putting on the donut tire. Pedro Cato (the owner) helped us out right away. He didn't have our tire on hand and had to order a special tire from the warehouse, but his son drove over to pick it up and they got us on the road in 45 minutes! A great thing about this mom & pop shop is that there's an A&W right across the street. We popped over for lunch and when we came back everything was set to go. The bottom line. this is a good shop for reasonably priced tires. They carry many off brands that are less priced than the standards brands but do as well. If you need used tires they can get you moving with as little as 20 bucks a tire. I recently purchased a used Pick up that had two good tires on the ground and a new spare. they dropped the spare on the back i bought a used spare and one more tire to match the new tire on the ground for 100 buck including mounting and balancing. If you need a motor or breaks or welding or just about most repairs you will be treated fair. I have been told by another shop that dose front end aliments that they are not a good shop for this type of work, no one is qualified to run the aliment equipment. Wow! I just want to say first and foremost that the quality, professionalism, and efficiency that Cota's provides is top notch. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon for a patch and plug on a Chevy Silverado 1500 rear tire with no appointment, no call ahead, or never been there before. As soon as I pulled up, I was quoted a price ($25) and stated I would be waiting. Sure enough, 20 minutes later my tire was patched and plugged, the TPMS system was reset, and all tires had the appropriate air pressure.
