I really don't need to say much about this place, other than it's absolutely fantastic. Very reasonably priced for what you get. All the sides are so delicious. And the meat is unmatched. We got the "Butcher's Feast" $82 per person. If you can get a ressy - do yourself a favor & come here! Also, hostess are super friendly. There's a bar in the middle of the restaurant you can order drinks at if you have to wait.

Amazing experience from start to finish. The quality of the meat here was incredible and worth every single dollar! Everything was so flavorful and the service was excellent throughout the meal. Our chef cooked everything perfectly right in front of us which was a very fun experience. My group shared the Butcher's Feast, which came with a variety of banchan. I especially loved all the pickled vegetables, specifically the cauliflower, and ended up eating so much of them. By the end of the meal, I was happily stuffed. The vanilla soft serve with soy sauce caramel was also a standout! Ridiculously creamy with one of the smoothest, velvety caramel flavors I've ever had. Overall, I had such a great time here and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality, memorable meal. Definitely come hungry!

Echoing other reviews, COTE is a wonderful high-end KBBQ with an amazing atmosphere although I'm not sure what exactly makes it Michelin star worthy as it feels only a notch fancier than the "nice" ones back home. Service was friendly and attentive even though it was packed from the minute they opened. Shrimp cocktail was delish. Loved the banchan too. Egg soufflé was okay, maybe slightly salty with the cheese. Cocktails and mocktails both lovely. We ordered à la carte cause I preferred the steak cuts and went with an American wagyu strip that was perfectly marbled, a Neiman Ranch ribeye, and some Miyazaki wagyu. All of these came in 8oz portions aside from the wagyu and were great, along with the dolsot bibimbap that had crispy rice at the bottom, and the tangy and refreshing somyeon. 4 stars instead of 5 for the COTE galbi--have you had galbi with the texture of beef tongue? No? Me either! Til dinner here. It was tough, chewy (rubbery), and wholly unexpected. Entire party did not like it which was a huge disappointment since we ended our meal on this. Maybe it was a fluke but a $62 short rib of that quality was a travesty.

The food here is amazing. Every meat was high quality, every side dish was flavorful, and they let you refill all the banchan you like! The soufflé egg was so light and fluffy and the kimchi was honestly a highlight side for me. The butchers feast was more than enough food after a long day of walking around the city. Definitely worth a visit for any special occasion.

Had a really great experience at Cote. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was intimate. We got the butcher's platter which had an array of different meats, including galbi. Although portions were not large, we did feel full by the end of the dinner. Everything was delicious. The meats were all very tender and flavorful. The banchan was limited but did include kimchi and radish cubes, which were yummy. That being said, the price point is high but you are paying also for the service, the ambience and the quality, so probably will not be able to frequent often but I would say definitely worth a visit, especially if on your want-to-go list!

Total (before tip) for two people 03/2026: $471.44 Kingpin drink: $24 ZBiotics drink: $11 Butcher's Feast (for 2): $164 A5 Wagyu tasting (for 2): $170 Steak & Eggs (2): $64 COTE absolutely lives up to the hype, but it's definitely a splurge. The portions are generous, and the experience is clearly designed with sharing in mind. This is one of those places where going with a group gives you the best value and variety as just the 2 of us couldn't finish all the sides. The Butcher's Feast is a great baseline, but adding the A5 Wagyu tasting takes it to another level. Highlights: the hanger steak was incredibly flavorful, and the Kobe wagyu from the Wagyu flight was the best. It was rich, buttery, and worth trying at least once in your life (or every time you go). Service was polished and attentive, and the whole experience felt elevated without being overly stiff. One thing to note: it's surprisingly difficult to get a reservation for just two people (you can only book the first time slot 5PM or after 10:45PM) and those time slots disappear fast as soon as they open. Larger parties seem to have more availability, so if you're planning ahead, it may actually be easier (and more fun) to go with a group.

This was the best KBBQ I've ever had and I'm still thinking about it Not only was the food delicious but the wait staff was very kind and attentive. Good vibes all around! We started with the Korean bacon which was very good. We then ordered the butchers feast and wagyu paella. The butchers feast came with plenty of food so we probably didn't need the paella but it was definitely worth every bite! To start they gave us broth to sip on throughout our meal as a palette cleanser. We then got started with the meats, which they cook for you, and all come with a bunch of sides. The sides varied from pickled vegetables, a salad slaw, kimchi, two types of stews with rice, and lettuce to make lettuce cups with your meat. There is also a delicious dipping sauce for the meat which added a bit of heat to it. To end, you get vanilla soft serve which caramel which was also fantastic. Highly recommend!!

Cote NYC opened in June 2017 in the Flatiron District by Seoul-born Simon Kim. It earned a Michelin star in under a year - the first and only one in the world for Korean BBQ, which it's held ever since. It also won James Beard for Best New Restaurant in 2018 and Outstanding Wine Program in 2019 and 2020, plus it was named America's Best Steakhouse (No. 10) by the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants list. We went for my girlfriend's birthday, and both ordered the Butcher's Feast with Bi-bim Somyun on the side. The whole meal was spectacular and extremely filling. Honestly for $78 per person, it's a fairly affordable meal. Service stayed impeccable all night. It's a special-occasion place that really delivers. 10/10, no notes.

Reserved a late night booking for 2 on the Butcher's Feast. We decided to opt out of the Wagyu, but had a varieties of classic cuts and banchan. The banchan was nothing unique. The kimchi was not really my favorite, and they had a lot of vegetables to pair the meat. The cost to me comes from the service. They grill the meat and veggies in front of you. The service felt a little bit rushed, and my friend and I felt pressured to keep up with all the meat they end up cooking on our grill. I enjoyed the quality of the meat though, but am taking off points bc I could get heartier portions kbbq for a better price at traditional Korean restaurants. At the very end we got a soy sauce caramel vanilla ice cream, which was surprisingly my favorite bite of the night. that's all from me ty for reading :^)

A must go! The reservation took a little perseverance but I'm happy that we were able to add this one to the list. Host was so pleasant and welcoming which started the night off well. Headed straight to the bar and it was buzzing. Ordered a couple of Okd Fashioned's to get us started. Perfectly made and atop a perfectly clear big rock, it's the small details that stand out to me. Escorted to our table and continued the well executed presentation and meal. Since we had never been we decided to try the Butchers Feast. I highly recommend this option to give yourself opportunity to try a bit of everything. The meat is obviously the star of the meal and prepared with just salt, it needed nothing else. Top quality everything and accompanied by rice, veggies and stews. Ended the meal with the soy sauce Caramel topped ice cream. It's really just the best experience.

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome and provided attentive service throughout the meal. The table-side preparation of the steak was a great touch and made the dining experience feel both interactive and elevated. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the Kimchi Wagyu Paella was the standout dish of the night--packed with incredible flavor and something I would absolutely order again. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience with exceptional food, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that made the evening memorable. I would definitely recommend COTE and look forward to returning.

Fiiiiinally got to try Cote after knowing about it for several years. Touting a Michelin star I was so curious how much Korean bbq can get as a certified kbbq lover. WOW. The meat just melts in your mouth, so so tender and the service is not only extremely attentive but the wait staff really know what they're doing and how to time the cooking process for the best results. We got the affordable option and left completely stuffed. The banchan was plenty full and they were quick to refill. The two soups were also delicious - the spicy one was a favorite. Would go back for sure. Keep it up Cote!

i got the butchers plate selection and had reservations. the staff is very polite. i think th butchers plate package is perfect amount of food it's a lot so i wouldn't recommend ordering anything else because you won't be able to finish it. the quality of the meats is phenomenal and really top tier. i appreciate the ingredients used and simple seasoning as if brought out th flavor. they grease the grill with beef tallow! the server puts food on the grill for you takes care of it during the whole time. i gotta say they have excellent time management. th table is huge so your plus one or team will be hard to hear so speak up when engaging in conversation. i really like the decoration inside however the bench seating is kinda cramped seating just being mindful. because you are pretty much back to back with the next guest table. they take coat check too so your jacket won't smell like bbq. the server spilled soda on me by accident but other than that it was good experience. everyone rushed in to help clean the spillage.

Ask the Community - COTE Korean Steakhouse

Dress? How do people dress here? Taking our teenagers.

I would aim towards "business casual". Treat it like a semi-formal dinner (so a button down shirt with slacks or dress pants works for men).

The butcher feast comes with egg soufflé, kimchi and Doen-jang Stew. For a party of 6, do we all get one of each?

No its shared. Kbbq is family style.... always

Are there any other side dishes other than the very sour Korean vegetables?

Unfortunately, I think the small side dishes are all pickled. When I went a couple months ago, they had kimchi, radish, cauliflower, and perilla leaves.… Read more

Are portions for butcher's feast adjusted based on party size? Curious about that vs portions a la carte. Based on that, for a party of 6-8, is butcher's feast or a la carte better? If the latter are banchan, lettuce, egg included?

The butcher feast is adjusted based on how many people are in your party. It's a lot of food but very pricey. I think depending on how much you want to spend would determine how I would order. To give you an idea we were 5 people and our bill was… Read more

For the Butcher's feast, do the diners pick the 4 cuts of meat, or is it always the same 4 cuts?

You do not pick but you can add whatever youd like.

    Any dress code?

No dress code but people are typically dressed a little nicer when coming to Cote. T-shirt and jeans or shorts are fine as well.

Can 2 people make reservation at all?

yep! but only at the beginning 5pm/5:15pm slot or late.

Has anyone ever sat outside? How's the patio experience?

Yes. I saw many patrons sat outside. They look happy and enjoyable.

What is the dining experience like if you're seated outside in a cabana?

I think the ambiance inside is so much better. For the price point , you want to be able to maximize the experience .

For a party of 8 how many Butchers Choice do I have to order and what is the price of each Butchers Choice?

They require each person at the table to order Butcher Choice. You have to do it all or none. These… Read more

How many pieces of USDA Prime and Anerican wagyu do you get in the Butcher’s Feast?

Its around 8 oz of meat per person. With all of the banchan, it's enough.

Hi, is there a cake cutting fee if I wanted to bring a birthday cake for a reservation?

they require a $5 per person cutting fee!

If I order a prefix could I dine solo with a grill?

I would call. But i know for 2 ppl you can only do 5pm or 1045pm. No inbetween seating

If ordering butcher's feast, do you have to order for kids too? 8 and 3 year olds?

No you do not :) When I went, we had a party of 6 including two kids and we only ordered 4 butcher's feast but I believe we could've even ordered 3 feasts if we wanted to.

How can I make a reservation for 2 people?

    Visit the following link: https://www.sevenrooms.com/reservations/cote

What happens if someone in your party cannot make the reservation? Do they charge a fee?

This happened to me! It's okay if its just one or two in my experience, and doesn't hugely change the table size you'd be at, but I think if you cancel all together there may be a fee.

This might be a silly question but are there any vegan options? My fiancée and I want to go but the friend joining us is vegan.

There are vegetarian/vegan options but they're more a la carts menu items! The staff is also pretty accommodating so I'd ask as well.

Are the outdoor cabanas suitable for summer? Worried it might get too hot since we are also getting BBQ.

Your meal is not prepared tableside so no worry of extra heat outside of the temperature/weather.

I cannot make a reservation for party of 2?

This is directly from an email from them in March - "If you are booking for a party of 2-3, please be aware that all of our tables are sized for parties of 4 and larger, so we only accept parties of 2 and 3 for our first and last seating, which are… Read more

How long can you stay to eat? Is there a time limit?

I had a 5pm reservation on a Monday and was told they needed to turn it by 8:15. It's probably not a hard and fast limit each night, and likely depends on time and demand.

I was seated right near the stairs and could feel cold air from outside every time the door opened, which made the experience uncomfortable. I was also surprised to see how much the cocktail menu had been reduced. When I asked about it, the response was that "the place changed a lot." That's fair -- places evolve -- but instead of highlighting the improvements or new strengths, the explanation focused negatively on what the bar used to be. As someone who really enjoyed the former version, that wasn't reassuring. Unfortunately, the drinks themselves didn't make up for it. One of the two cocktails was simply not good. No one came back to check on the drinks, and when I asked for the check after about 20 minutes, there was no acknowledgment that I had barely touched mine or any inquiry about my experience. Overall, a place I once enjoyed and recommended now feels more like a standard dive bar where " Mixologist " were replaced by bartender and were fun cool looking and tasty drinks were replaced by " less complex cocktail ", lacking the warmth and attention to detail that once made it special.

We started with half a dozen oysters, which were fresh, briny, and exactly what you want with serious cocktails. Crisp, clean, gone in about three minutes. For drinks, we ordered the Smoke Show and the King Tusk. The Smoke Show was beautifully balanced. The Grey Goose vodka and Dolin Dry gave it that classic martini backbone, but the fino sherry and brine added depth. The smoked olive oil and blue cheese olive brought just enough savory drama without overpowering the glass. It was complex but not fussy. The King Tusk leaned more aromatic and layered. The vermouths gave it richness, while the Buddha's Hand and osmanthus flower added subtle citrus and floral notes that lingered in a really elegant way. It felt like a cocktail designed to be savored slowly. The music fit the mood perfectly, not too loud, just enough to give the room energy without killing conversation. Overall, it's a great spot if you want elevated drinks in a space that feels transportive without being pretentious. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm in the mood for a refined, slightly cinematic night out in Flatiron.

A special shoutout to Abel, our server, who made excellent recommendations based on our flavor preferences and helped us discover some incredible drinks. We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.

Top recommendation for apps: the fried tuna nigiri bites. The duck ball things were really good too, and the truffle fries. Heads up, there's absolutely no phone service in the downstairs area (which is spacious and great for a big party), but they have wifi that works really well which is great. Would definitely come back here for dinner sometime.

Angel helped guide our order, paced the food well for a group, and made us feel taken care of from start to finish. Drinks were a highlight: bright, refreshing cocktails (we loved the mint/cucumber moment and a spritz-y option). We ordered a few plates to share and everything hit. The bao were fluffy and satisfying, and the crispy chicken was a standout. Finished with a light, not-too-sweet dessert that was the perfect ending. Would recommend for a casual celebration or a coworker night out.
