Overall food was good and service is excellent, and I'm glad to have finally experienced Cote, but it shouldn't be that hard to get a reservation to eat there. It's dim and modern with club music playing. We got the shrimp cocktail, Butcher's Feast, A5 horizontal tasting, Fifth and Vine, Apollo, and Riesling. We were very full by the end. A5 is very rich and fatty so there isn't a need to eat too much of it. Favorite cuts are the American Wagyu and Sendai Ribeye. The soybean stew and soft serve with salted caramel were really enjoyable. Tables are expected to take 1.5 hours. They asked us to move our drinks to the bar at the end and put it on the house, which was really nice. Banchan were cauliflower, celtuce, perilla leaves, kimchi, radish, and pea shoots. We arrived much earlier than our reservation but were seated within 10 minutes. The booth fit seven of us comfortably. Amazing experience from start to finish. The quality of the meat here was incredible and worth every single dollar! Everything was so flavorful and the service was excellent throughout the meal. Our chef cooked everything perfectly right in front of us which was a very fun experience. My group shared the Butcher's Feast, which came with a variety of banchan. I especially loved all the pickled vegetables, specifically the cauliflower, and ended up eating so much of them. By the end of the meal, I was happily stuffed. Had a really great experience at Cote. Service was very attentive and the atmosphere was intimate. We got the butcher's platter which had an array of different meats, including galbi. Although portions were not large, we did feel full by the end of the dinner. Everything was delicious. The meats were all very tender and flavorful. We started with the Korean bacon which was very good. We then ordered the butchers feast and wagyu paella. To start they gave us broth to sip on throughout our meal as a palette cleanser. We then got started with the meats, which they cook for you, and all come with a bunch of sides. The sides varied from pickled vegetables, a salad slaw, kimchi, two types of stews with rice, and lettuce to make lettuce cups with your meat. The steak was thick, tender, and full of flavor. You can really tell you're getting high-quality cuts, and it shows in the taste. One thing to know before going: if you plan on ordering one of the prix fixe options, the entire table has to choose the same one (unless someone at the table is pescatarian, in which case they can order the seafood option). So your group will have to decide together between the Butcher's Feast or the Steak Omakase. Our table went with the Butcher's Feast and added a few extra items. Honestly, the Butcher's Feast alone was already a generous amount of food, and the add-ons probably weren't necessary but everything we had was delicious. After we finished eating, we stayed chatting for a bit since we were catching up. We also ordered the Wagyu tartare for our appetizer. It was also very delicious and I would recommend ordering that for an appetizer as well. The soft serve that was given at the end was amazing. I could literally eat their ssamjang paste (that yummy fermented soybean paste they bring for you to dip your meat in) by the spoonful, it's the best I've ever had so far. Honestly I wouldn't even bother with appetizers, you'll be stuffed enough with the feast. If I had more disposable income, I would certainly get the Steak Omakase with the wine pairing ($335 per person) but that would need to be a very special occasion. The caviar service also looks incredible but again, need mo' money haha. I have never walked out of this restaurant hungry and this girl loves to eat. If you do, you better be a professional athlete that burns 10k calories a day. COTE has never disappointed me and I try to go every 6 months to satisfy my expensive Korean BBQ cravings! My family came here for Father's Day and we weren't really impressed. It's really dark here so my parents had a hard time looking at the menu, but we ended up doing the Butcher's Feast for everyone. Also, the lady assigned to our table wasn't really present so my dad grilled a lot of the meat for us.. The first round of the meat was salted too much and they did not like it at all ): I wish they asked us how much salt we would want before they sprinkled it on, because when we saw it happen even I was a bit shocked at how much salt she sprinkled. My parents and my brother liked the kimchi jjigae more than the meat, given its price and value of everything. The steamed egg was really fluffy which I personally liked! Not sure what I was expecting, but first impression I got when I walked in was that this place surprisingly had a hip casual vibe, not the uptight/snobby atmosphere like some other Michelin places in NYC. It came with assortment of ban-chan, steam egg, salad, and soups. It was like 80'ish per person, but we also added on the optional 1oz A5 wagyu for $32 per person. Again, everything was delicious.....but tinyyyy. The set definitely did not have enough meat for me, so I added another order of the dry aged ribeye (68$). Beautiful restaurant, nice ambiance. Three of us ordered the butchers feast which was delicious! The side dishes were excellent and the egg casserole, kimchi stew were delicious.
