I was undecided about whether to replace the 3 glass blocks with issues or the replace entire window. Glass Block Factory made an on-site visit to assess the window itself and the inside and outside area around the window. Since the window was above an unpaved gangway and on the second-floor scaffolding was necessary for the job. Glass Block Factory provided estimates to replace just the 3 blocks and to replace the entire glass block window. The pros and cons of each option was explained with no pressure. Since the window was 20 years old and there were some grout issues with other glass blocks in the window, I decided to replace the entire window. On the scheduled date, the team arrived. Scaffolding was setup outside the window. Drop cloths were placed inside to contain the debris. The removal of the original window and the installation of the new window was done with skill and efficiency. Work areas were cleaned up prior to their departure. He was upfront about the timeline and was very flexible in scheduling. On the day of the work, the crew sent out was very professional and on time. (A few minutes earlier actually, and that's ok!). They were very polite and got to work right away taking out the old windows. Within an hour and a half, the windows were fine and the new windows were in. We sat with four companies, and Leo sold us on the history of Rusco, quality of craftsmanship and lifetime warranty. We started the process at the start of Sept. and our door was up at the start of Nov. With the cost of the door north of $6K, I was really expecting the contractors to do a seamless job, but that is where Rusco fell short. They were VERY quick to install and during the process chipped our new railing. I understand they were working in a small space, but it couldn't have been the first time working in such a confined location. After they left, the doorframe was not what I had expected in terms of high quality work. I would think they would have enough stain to spare for the ends of the top of the frame (I brought this up to the contractors and they said they didn't have any stain left). There is also white coming through the top doorframe. I reached out to Leo and he told me to wipe it with a wet towel (which obviously already tried prior to reaching out). They assumed it was sheet rock and thought it was dust. The wet cloth did nothing...Leo called on 11/11 and asked if he and another guy could stop by, which they did on that day. The first thing they tried to do was wipe it with a wet cloth (again had already tried that) and then nothing. They were perplexed and said they'd come back the following week with stain and fix it up. It has been radio silence since this moment. Overall, we really do love our door. It is beautiful, but we could have received the same exact door from a number of other companies and we have some regrets with selecting Rusco. After paying the money we have, we should not have to chase and we feel the job should have been completed seamlessly. You live and you learn.

You don't pour 20-30 ft. of hydraulic cement in the holes - you cover the holes with rubber or aluminum & then coat that w/a small amount of hydraulic cement. I personally live in the Chicagoland Area. Simply put this is one of those landlords that attempts to beat down labor after they work on his home in an effort to maximize his profit.
