We contacted Michael to repair a small scratch in a VERY expensive mirror. Although it was a hassle to get a hold of him in the beginning, it was worth it in the end! For $100 and about an hour of time, the scratch is gone! Michael explained that the difficulty in our initial contact was due to an employment issue. He explained that his secretary wasn't answering the phone and he had to field all of the calls while balancing the repairs. I expect that his phone issue is resolved now. From the start, I felt like they didn't really wants business. I wanted a cracked window in my condo replaced and had to call 3 times to get a quote, and 4 times to get a confirmation on when the work would be done. Having taken the day off work to let them in to do the job, they didn't show, and didn't call. When I called them, I found they rescheduled the job without telling me. I have received a 50% discount but they still haven't finished the job and....shocker....no one had called me to let me know what's happening. I've used guardian glass for a few different things. I have sliding glass doors in my kitchen leading to the patio. I didn't want to put curtains up and a friend suggested I contact them. They came out and tinted my back doors with a mirror tint. We love it! I also used them to remove graffiti off my glass on the windows on my storefront and install a two way mirror inside my lounge area and they installed a privacy film in my bathroom. I called to get them to come out to fix a broken window... didn't even want a quote, just wanted to get it fixed. I have a cracked window (still have) and called this company yesterday. They said they were checking on the location of their worker and would call me back. This was at 9:00am on May 12th. I finally got a call back after 4:30pm yesterday. I understand companies can be busy, so OK... no big deal. We scheduled for them to come out today (5/13/2015) at 10:30am. My wife took the morning off so that we could get this fixed... NO CALL/NO SHOW... Maybe they just have too much business and can't keep up or this isn't a big enough job, but either way, don't waste your time. UNPROFESSIONAL! Had an appointment schedule 4 days out. Called at time of appointment and was told they are reaching out to technician and will call me back in 5-10 mins with update. No call back. I followed up 30 mins later, twice by phone, both times went to voicemail but inbox full. Feels as if I am being screened/avoided. Granted my project was for an estimate that was stated as free. Just small work on a door window pane replacement but likely would have hired on the spot and done the project. Don't offer estimate if not the case. Frustrating as I took day off to get window repaired for renters who had been broken into and wanted to get them a sense of security. If you need to cancel or reschedule that is understandable but a follow up call is generally a requirement to not be classified as unprofessional. read more

Very professional, friendly & quick. Not only did he go above & beyond to make me happy with my acid-etch film install (little bitty bits of dirt required him to re-do 1 of the 4 huge windows, to which he did without a grumble) but when the window got smashed it held the glass together! I paid for a new window & got a new film when BAM! They came & tried again, this time a little worse break but the film *again* held the glass together too. Terrible business do not even waste your time. I had a cracked window in my condo building that needed repair so I called this company thinking since they were nearby it would be convenient. That was not the case! Spoke with Mike the initial consult and it took 5 conversations before he could even get me scheduled for an appointment and even then he NEVER calls back or calls to confirm my appt. After calling them for the 6th time my appointment was confirmed for a Friday on which I had to call off work to be at my apt to let them in and no one showed up during my appointment time noon-1pm. So I call them at 1pm to verify where the technician is and they state they will check and call me back and I never heard from him again. After another hour goes by I call and talk with Mike and start to get the run around on having to talk with his manager Alex. Having spoken with Alex I was told that a technician would be coming out soon and he would call me back, but that again was false. I did not hear from anyone and had to follow up on my own. After getting a hold of Alex he told me the technician would now not be able to come out for the day. They wanted to reschedule me for the next day, and I said that would be fine but they needed to confirm a time so they said they would call me back. Another hour later, I called them again and they said they would let me know by the end of the day what time tomorrow they could come and get the job done. After Alex spoke with his boss Javier, I received a phone call late in the evening about how they could no longer do the job tomorrow and they wanted to reschedule for the following week asking me to call off another day of work. I asked to speak with his manager Javier and he stated he was not available and he would not be able to help me. The only thing they said was "Sorry, we didn't know you were calling off work." I hardly find this any compensation for missing work and getting the run around from this company. I will never go through them again, and do not recommend anyone use them for their services. read more

The guy who came out to do measurements for my broken window seemed to know what he was doing. However, I never got an estimate even after 3-4 weeks! I finally had to go elsewhere. It wasn't worth my time calling them to get an estimate and each time being told they were still working on it. I can't speak to the quality of their work. Michael at Guardian Glass came over and buffed out a acid graffiti perfectly and did it in between other graphics I had on the outside of the storefront window. I'm glad he came by and found us as I called several window places (including the one that made my front display) and nobody had any ideas. Other companies suggest replacing the entire window which seemed crazy. All I needed was someone who actually knew how to use a glass buffer and do the job, I guess it's not as easy as you would think. The Logan Square area, where I'm from, in Chicago is well known for lots of graffiti and it was no surprise that when my husband and I started looking for a new store front location for our expanding microblading business, we saw lots of commercial glass that looked really bad with deep scratches etched on it and some type of chemical residue stain from old graffiti that never seems to come all the way off. We also found that all too often the business owner was left to deal with it and not the landlord building owner. I received a quote for replacing the glass for my windows. I contacted the company and want to replace one window for now since it beginning to turn brown. The guy said he will have to call me back with schedule, that was a month ago.
