Attended a private party at this well hidden gem. We accidentally drove past it because we were looking for and expecting signs - instead this place is nestled by West Coast University in Doral. There's limited seating indoors and some outside - but our first good sign was constant traffic of people getting takeout. We had a full meal consisting of multiple appetizers, a main, a palate cleanser and dessert. We were blown away by the meticulous quality and soul that went into this food! It was artfully and delicately prepared. My absolute favorite was their Osso Bucco Ravioli. Watching the chefs make this from scratch was a delight. The Focaccia trio was also spectacular - toasted flavors and rosemary perfectly set the stage for delicious filling of philly steak, mozarella, and prosciutto. The Osso Bucco was delicately and artistically prepared, both in presentation and in the preparation of the veal. Fantastic....would have it again. After all this we enjoyed a very refreshing raspberry sorbet to cleanse the palate and then finished it off with dessert. First time visit to Cotto pizza. I went for a private birthday party. We had a pre-set menu for the event and I was a bit skeptical. Boy let me tell you, the food and service was outstanding. My husband and I have been looking for good pizza restaurant near our home and chose Cotto because it's outstanding Google reviews. We ordered a Brooklyn large pizza and it really lived up to the good reviews it has received. The pizza had great taste. We enjoyed the amount and quality of the pepperonis on the Brooklyn pizza. It had just the right amount of sauce for my husband who is not a fan of a lot of sauce on his pizza and the cheese tasted fresh and delicious. The location was easy to find and clean and cozy inside. I ordered by phone and the service I've received so far has been good. This little cafe situated underneath the West Coast University may be in an odd location but don't let that stop you, the food is phenomenal. The owner and head chef Mauro really knows what he's doing and that passion for his food is apparent; nothing leaves the kitchen that isn't up to his quality standards. The first time I tried to order a Porchetta sandwich, something that's only available on Thursdays, he told me it wasn't available because he didn't like how the meat came out that day. That's integrity that I can appreciate! I have had it a few times since I can honestly say and the hype is real, right down to the amazing homemade bread it's served on. If pork isn't your thing, the Tuesday special roast lamb is served on the same bread, and there always seems to be something new and different on the menu that warrants frequent repeat visits. Don't recommend this place. The pizzas are pretty much a fancy overpriced Pizza Hut plate. We paid about $90 for 3 pizzas of which two were basic margheritas. The desserts were super expensive, Nutella calzone was $17. Crazy high prices. The margherita was horrible. The other pizza was ok but not anything crazy and definitely not worth the prize. Place was super difficult to find. It's behind a university hidden and it didn't really have a welcoming environment there. The crust has no taste it's not fluffy I didn't enjoy it and overall what they put on the pizza was bad you could tell. Pizza - Above average but not enough to charge $22 for a personal pizza and almost $5 for some toppings. Quality of dough is great as the crust came out near perfect. The Burrata was just thrown as is instead of broken down and spread out as shown in some pics. Not sure why I was stuck with a massive ball of Burrata right in the center of my pie. Tiramisu - Not worth $8 as it was too strong of a taste. I feel this restaurant charges high prices due to the area that they are in and they seemed to be attached to a university. This place was absolutely AMAZING! Cotto is such a cute little place with lots authentic charm and everyone was so sweet and welcoming. The food was some of the best Italian I have ever experienced. The lasagna was my favorite I have ever had out of all of the Italian I've had across United States. The pizza tasted very fresh and all ingredients used in our meal was high quality. Hands down my favorite lunch spot in Doral! It's a small cute little gem hiding. I have yet to have a bad experience. All the food is made fresh to order.
