It has been awhile since I stepped inside a Cotton Patch Cafe, for no other reason than there just is not one close to me. I have always enjoyed them so when I was close to one I gave it a try... Walking in, not much has changed in the decor and ambiance. It's straight up a Texas cafe with stone and wood walls and booths. Our service was good. We were attended to not too long after being seated. Our drinks and some warm rolls arrived shortly later. The rolls were a nice start as they tasted delicious. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything was just as it should be!

Well well, I finally got over to this little country spot that I've never tried before although I had heard a lot about. It was a cold day so I was in the mood for some good old comfort food and my friend at work suggested the Cotton Patch and I said okay I've never been there let's give it a try and I wasn't disappointed. I ordered the country fried steak with jalapeno cream gravy garlic mashed potatoes and mac and cheese and it was delicious, especially the country fried steak with that jalapeno cream gravy in the portion was huge. Now I know if I want a good country fried steak at a good price close to the house I know where to go, I will say the service was a little slow in the food took a little too long to come out but at least it came out well. All in all I would recommend Cotton Patch to others and I will be back.

I placed a to-go order this evening and am very pleased! I normally don't order out much and decided I wanted to order from Cotton Patch. I called in my order at 7:50pm and after Rachel was done taking my order she said my food would be ready around 8:15pm. I ordered the Chicken fried chicken plate with garlic potatoes and southern green beans. I got there a little early (at 8:05) and my food was already ready so I paid for my food and out the door. Quick and easy transaction! Rachel was very professional over the phone and in person. The environment when I walked in seemed very homey. My food tasted great and I will definitely consider ordering again from them in the future!

My late grandmother was a superb country cook and her name was Maggie. Good omen! We got there about 11:45 and got a table right away. Our server was Devin and she was terrific. We split the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. The portion that they brought out was gigantic....plenty for two average appetites. What I really liked about it was - it was not over-breaded and it was fork-tender. (in my humble opinion, too many places are giving you a lot more breading that doesn't have meat under it. Yes, it's a first-world problem.) The mashed potatoes were also quite good, along with the cream gravy. I'm not a huge green bean fan, but my wife really liked them. This place has a cool vibe and we plan to return sometime soon. It's one of the top 3 CFS's we've had in Fort Worth / mid-cities.

We ordered nachos as an appetizer to split, along with two beers and a kids meal. What arrived was Motley Crue waking from a drug binge, raiding the pantry and trash, then declaring "let's do it." What was supposed to be nachos was anything but. The only explanation is someone who had never seen nachos tried to recreate them after hearing a rumor from someone at a Lowe's parking lot. The "chips" were not tortilla chips. They were rectangular strips of pale, flimsy material that looked like scraps of drywall film pulled out of a new construction site. An albino drywall experiment that somehow escaped the kitchen and landed on a plate. The entire thing was covered in barbecue sauce, with some mystery white liquid poured over the top. We assume it was supposed to be queso, but it definitely was not queso. Calling it queso feels disrespectful to actual queso. We ate maybe a quarter of it and decided we needed to leave before things got worse. Six hours later, we received an unannounced encore performance in the bathroom. I would avoid this place like a plague outbreak--unless you have an upcoming colonoscopy and want to skip the bowel prep.

A nice lady greeted me at the cash register. My order was ready to go on time. There was a sign at the register stating that an order of sweet potato fries is smaller than an order of regular fries. I'm not sure why that is. Each order actually had the same amount of fries, but the fries were scant. The burgers are good size, but they were definitely lacking in flavor. They were OK, but for the price, I wish they had been tastier. Years ago, I tried this spot, so I was re-trying it. They are one of the few non-chain options nearby. Always clean, made to order and they are always located in a shopping mall with ample parking. I had the supreme with a double patty( not sure I said double but I took one of the Pattie's off and grounded it into tacos for dinner it was that big) The burger itself was huge, juicy, seasoned and piled high with everything you could think of. They are right around the corner from the outdoor paint hall place so when it was time for lunch I just called in my order, ate and went back to paint balling!
