They are located on a corner and parking is limited. I found street parking on the side street, about a block down in front of a house. We walked inside Gus's about 11:30 am on a Wednesday. They were busy' but had a number of open tables. There are mostly square and rectangular 4-top tables. We chose one by the front windows. A moment after we sat down, our server, Joe K came by to greet us and he took our drink order. Menu's are at the table, so we studied a bit and were ready for Joe when he brought our drinks. I ordered: - Unsweetened Iced Tea - 3 Piece Dark Chicken Plate (my choice: leg, leg, thigh) with Greens and BBQ Beans My wife ordered: 2 Piece White Chicken Plate (breast, wing) with Mac-Cheese and BBQ Beans The chicken was the star for sure. The BBQ Beans weren't special but were decent. The Greens, decent. With each meal plate, the chicken is served on a slice of white bread. The chicken was fried to a deep brown and was real tasty. My dark meat was juicy and tender. My wife's white meat was drier but normal for white meat. My wife's felt the chicken skin was maybe overcooked as it was tough. It was fine to me. I ate her skin :) We'll be back to Gus's!

Being a large party we ordered a wide variety of entrees & the general consensus was that everyone was happy with their choice. My one complaint is that, as usual, Cheddar's kitchen does not know how to cook medium-rare salmon & it was over-cooked but had a good flavor with the bourbon glaze on the side for dipping. I have repeatedly made an effort to specify the sear on my salmon but to no avail. I used to send the over-cooked salmon back to the kitchen but due to time constraints I did not on this occasion. Unfortunately, due to the ban on fresh green vegetables for recent safety concerns, they were not serving the side of cooked broccoli which was very disappointing, but understandable. Cynthia was very accommodating to place our bakery-bought cake into refrigeration during our dinner, serving it at the perfect time. She repeatedly asked if anyone needed refills. Cheddar's is one of our go-to places when we want a consistently good & filling meal. And we will continue to be customers. And kudos go to Cynthia for going above & beyond to please us.

What was even more disappointing, however, was the customer service. The woman who appeared to be part of the ownership was once again rude and unprofessional. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I've had this type of interaction with her. I really wanted to be able to say that things had improved, but based on today's visit, I don't feel comfortable recommending this restaurant or returning anytime soon. Good food and welcoming customer service both matter, and unfortunately, neither met my expectations today.

My husband and I went here to get dinner. We were seated to our table and were handed our menus. We sat at the table for 5 to 7 minutes while other waiters and waitress taking care of their tables and NO ONE came to see if anyone has been to our table. nor offer us drinks Another older couple comes in 7 minutes AFTER us and was seated in a booth and they got their drinks just as soon as THEY were seated. WE got up and left and told the manager our BAD experience and he attempted to make it up to us. We were both to mad at the service and told them, they don't have a 2nd chance to make a 1st impression.. Needless to say, we will NOT be back!! read more

My family and I flew in from New York and stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. We were immediately greeted by a friendly waiter named Fransisco, who made our dining experience even better. The food was absolutely delicious and served hot, which made us excited to come back for more. The paintings adorning the walls were particularly captivating, and added an air of sophistication to the already delightful ambiance. A step above your usual chain restaurants like Outback Steakhouse or Red Lobster. Their prices are not ridiculous and you get a food portion for the price. I liked that they had a lot of options that were gluten free as my daughter has an intolerance. If you go, definitely get the fried green tomatoes. "Towanda!!" haha They're very good and come with an avocado ranch that is creamy with a slight spice. My sister claimed she didn't taste the spice though, so maybe I'm just crazy. read more

And, sadly, I had some pretty regrettable memories from the last 15 or so years where the quality dipped significantly. Happy to report though, this new remodel has seen a return to quality. They have new menu options including apps, desserts, and the usual Fish/Chicken/Shrimp you'd expect. I bought a combo plate and was happy with every bite. Fish was flaky and tasted great, the shrimp had a good crunch, the chicken suffered a bit by comparison since we just ate at a Bojangles a couple days ago, but still it was fresh and good. They have waffle fries now which was nice and I even got a side of rice, which was a nice change of pace. Overall I was very happy with this trip to the new LJS. Highly recommend.

Missing pieces of fish or chicken is typical. No sides or missing drinks is also common. They do play stingy with the packets of hot sauce, tartar and vinegar. Either way I'll still give them a chance. Just a heads up though for those who end up getting caught off guard.
