Wife and I ordered the 2 for $18 chicken fried steak plus a $7 lunch special. This was the restaurant in Lake Worth. I arrived and was directed to pick up my to go order at the bar. A young heavy set Hispanic woman asked me for a name, she seemed very rushed and short at this point . I stated my name and she says no order was called in . I told her I had just called it in myself 15 mi ago. This employee became very agitated and started to yell " It's not here" She then goes up toward the kitchen counter and grabs an order, screaming at this point saying "it was sent online" By this time you have an entire dining room watching this, problem 50 people. This woman throws my order on the bar, still screaming at me . I told her I called it in , not online , she grabs my ticket saying it was. I then asked to see a manager. She still screaming saying "I don't give a shit" I said all these customers are looking at you which she stated I don't care about any GOD DAMN customers. This point a short Hispanic male came out of the kitchen who was now physically try to come at it, he said he was a manager. She looked at manager and said screaming "you want to send me home, I don't give a shit" I'm 68 years old and I have never been treated like this from an employee. Called in my order for lunch, and it was hot and ready at pickup. The chicken fried steak was delicious and tender. The lunch specials are great and it only took 15 min. I highly recommend for lunch and for the price, you can't beat it. read more

2nd time I have made an online order from this restaurant to go for a family of six and multiple items missing. I made a point to ask, is everyone no here last time it wasn't. I was aassured it was. Let's see we are missing a chick fried steak, gravy on another meal, fries on another, and the chips and salsa order is missing the salsa!! I would drive back to have the order corrected, but given itS 40min round trip this time a day. I'm going to the chicken express down the street to replace the missing food. I have always been a fan of cotton patch. However, I went into this one on Friday January 15th for lunch. The hostess seated me, and that was it. I waited approximately 15 minutes while several servers and the hostess walked by my table multiple times, noticed me sitting there with no drink, and never said a word. I got my coat and walked out. I went in to get a Dr pepper cake to go and while I was waiting for it near the front I saw one of the cooks put hot fried foods on several plates with his bare hands. I e-mailed Cotton Patch from their web site to report this and no one replied. I can't help but think about all that burnt dead skin sticking to french fries and stuff. Gross. read more

30 minute wait time to get seated at dinner rush, not bad, most places were 40 minutes + wait. Misunderstanding between waiters on who's table we were so no one came to our table for 15 minutes but when a waiter finally came, he explained, apologized and gave us a free appetizer. Food was good, best chicken fried chicken I had ever had. Mac n cheese was dull but edible. Rolls cold but it was fine. Fries and cheese sticks very good, good portions on all. Don't order the chicken pot pie skillet. Waited forever to be served a skillet filled with what looked like runny gravy with a biscuit on top, and maybe one or two pieces of carrots and chicken. Another member in our party ordered chicken fried chicken- it was the size of a chicken tender. The waitress was nice- offered to get everyone something else. This is a casual sit-down restaurant with a mix of southern food, hamburgers, and American classics. Service has always been adequate, have never had a problem when dining. I recently traveled to Texas for Christmas vacation. I am from Texas, but now live in Idaho. All my family lives in Texas. While I was there, I asked where to get a good chicken fried steak. My parents told me they like to go here. So here we went. Since these are Texas Chicken Fried Steaks, I will rate it like this. If this had been served here in Idaho, I would have given it a 10 out of 10. These people in Idaho have no idea how to make a real Texas Chicken Fried Steak. We were here around 2pm, so we were given a choice of lunch or supper. In other words, the small or the large portion. I ordered the supper (large) portion of Chicken Fried Steak (CFS). My daughter had a medium well sirloin Steak. The CFS was what I would consider a lunch portion. But I was fine with this. I suspect that the kitchen messed up and gave me the lunch portion, but I was fine with the sie of the steak, so I didnt say anything. My dad who ate with me here as well got the lunch sized portion of CFS. Both of ours were the exact same size. A pretty good confirmation that the kitchen did indeed mess up. The CFS was good and crispy. The batter looked identical to what was on their other Chicken Fried things. The batter was crispy as I would expect for a good CFS. I give this part of it a 10 out of 10. The meat inside of the batter was pressed down, not very tender and just didnt look of taste that great. This part of it I will give a 4 out of 10. A good CFS should be so tender that it cuts with a fork and practically melts in your mouth. The gravy that goes on the CFS is just as important as the CFS itself. The gravy was good. I will give this part of the CFS a 7 out of 10. The flavor of the CFS is very important. Even though the CFS met most of the other criteria for a good CFS, it had very little flavor. On the flavor scale, I give it a 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. That makes this CFS get an overall score of around 6. It was not the best I have ever had, but not the worst either. Oh yeah, the sirloin steak was pretty poor. It was overcooked and pressed down and dry. It had little flavor and was just ok. read more

Nice facility and great staff. My wife needs gluten-free (celiac not a fad), cross contamination has occurred twice out of 5 times there. (They were glaring mistakes too, Country Gravy on mashed potatoes, etc.) The cajun duo is delicious, good flavor on steaks, but the rest is pretty boring. Produce- salads and etc, came out with frozen and tasteless tomatoes, and frozen/soggy lettuce. The buns while you wait are delicious. Flavored lemonade is extremely tart and not very good. They make cash on high volume and always busy... If they put cash into the menu and quality, they would be far tastier and we would be raving fans. read more

Awhile back, we had excellent all you can eat fried catfish and all the sides in decent sized servings - not huge, but just right. I hoped to get that today. They no longer have all you can eat catfish, so we each ordered chicken fried steak, fried okra, mac & cheese, and side salads. The portion sizes were tiny. One of us got what we ordered, the other got chicken fried chicken. We did not send it back as we didn't want to wait for the correct order while the the other order got cold The rolls came out way too early so were cold by the time our meal came out. Salads were ordered WITHOUT cucumbers. The server forgot our salads. We had to ask for them and then wait awhile. They were very small servings and loaded with cucumbers. Mac and cheese was just okay. The entire meal and was mediocre, at best. Will not be reluctant to go back. Too many other places to eat in the Lake Worth, Fort Worth and Saginaw areas. It was too expensive for tiny portions on the lunch special. For two lunch specials with water, it was $21 + tax and tip. Ridiculous. However, the service was acceptable. read more

Cold and rainy outside so we went in for lunch to warm us up. Although the food was good the restaurant was freezing cold inside. I had a coat on the whole time and had to get another coat from the car to put over my legs. I noticed almost everyone in the restaurant was still wearing their coats inside too. That is not a pleasant way to eat a meal out. I went to the hostess station to ask them to turn the heat up but was told "sorry, too bad. That's just the way it is." I love the food but twice now they put my family at a table on the side of the building, they are quick to take your order and then forget about you. I told the waitress that I was going to drink a lot of tea. I sat with a empty glass for about 30 minutes, finally she refills my glass and asked if we would like more bread and I said yes and about 30 minutes later our food comes and no bread. This was probably my worst experience at this location. I placed my order online and arrived at exactly the time it was estimated to be ready. However, I had to wait an additional 27 minutes before my order was even ready. I wasn't offered anything to drink while I waited, there was even a customer who became upset due to the long wait and walked out. No one, not even a manager acknowledged me during the time I waited to apologize for the wait or to offer anything for the inconvenience. This was the first time this place has disappointed me. Cotton Patch has been one of my favorite places since moving to Texas 3years ago, and when I curbside or carry out I can check my order and get it fixed, BUT every time I go with delivery something is missing or incorrect. I try to not be difficult but no gravy with fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Salad without cucumbers an tomatoes, requested and got salad covered in both. Does anyone check these orders before doordash or uber picks up????? read more
