This was my second time at the local foods kitchen. My mom was with me both times. This place is always packed for breakfast and brunch, it seems to slow down around 130 or 2 PM. There was always a crowd here, but there is a pretty quick turnaround. It's loud so you do have to speak up to hear each other. My mom and I both had combo number one which is a half a sandwich with the soup of the day. Today they had tomato soup and chili. My mom had half a turkey sandwich with tomato soup and I had half of a chicken Panini with a bowl of chili.! The service was quick and the food was fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back to try other items.

Great find in Ft Worth near TCU!!! Awesome quality food with healthy food options for every palate. I highly recommend the chicken cesar wrap and Albacore tuna sandwich along with the kale salad with a ginger lemonade refresher. A must try

Dined here for lunch and I have to say the food was exceptional. It gets pretty packed and you get nervous. You're not gonna get a table, but it always works out perfectly. We had the Kebab Cobb as our entrees but we tore into them so quick I didn't get any photos of those. The thing that you absolutely cannot miss at this place is the Blum's Crunch Cake!

It had been a hot minute but... I went back! And, it still is all the buzz in the community. They have soup, sandwiches, salads and pre-made pick me ups. I recently met a friend for lunch where I tried their Caesar Salad and fresh Strawberry Limeade. Both, were delicious!! So delicious that I actually craved a pick up order the next day where I ordered a Chicken Panini sandwich. If dining in, you can snag a table inside or outside. There's lots of seating options. Either way, you'll have great service and great food! Will I be going back? Clearly, yes. ;D

My favorite go to spot in Fort Worth. Breakfast, lunch or an early dinner you can't go wrong. Fresh and locally sourced ingredients make for a delicious meal. Eat in or takeout. They have a wonderful counter service. Staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. It's is cozy, quaint & s great place to visit over a meal. Parking and seating can be a challenge during busy times, but don't let it deter you. The meal will be worth it. Always be prepared to take a cookie or dessert to go. Yne pastry cabinets are so tempting. You won't be disappointed. Today we popped in for brunch before a football game at TCU. We shared an omelette. It was full of meat and fluffy. Just the way we like our omelettes. We had grilled sourdough bread and potatoes as sides. Absolutely loved the grilled sourdough with the homemade blackberry and strawberry jams. Delectable and just the right mix. Enjoy this locally owned eatery. They are fantastic for catering, too.

Before tip our cost was 62.24 for lunch for 3 people, 2 teas and a water. The food was okay. Go early or late to avoid the lunch crowds. They do have outside seating. The salad was really wet with dressing if we go back I'll ask for it on the side. The Cuban was the favorite of the day.

Wonderful place to have lunch. Excellent service and excellent food, very fresh and fabulous desserts. Wonderful ambience and lovely outdoor seating area.

Delicious food, fast service and great selection of desserts. The only reason I couldn't give a 5th star is the fact that the restaurant ventilation was poor so you smell like food after your meal. I recommend getting a table outside if possible.

The appetizers were outstanding. From the chips and queso to the wings, and especially the crab rangoon mozzarella sticks (a must-try), everything was excellent. Based on that start, we expected the entrees to be just as impressive. For half of our table, they were. Unfortunately, my son's steak was poorly seasoned and cooked to the wrong temperature. He chose not to send it back because we had already experienced significant delays. I, for example, waited far too long for my steak salad to arrive. When it finally did, it was missing nearly every ingredient except the lettuce, steak, and a single sliced cherry tomato. By the time the kitchen was remaking my salad, the rest of my family was already halfway through their meals. Our waitress continued checking on us and seemed genuinely concerned, but the issue clearly wasn't being prioritized in the kitchen. After my husband asked to speak with a manager, my salad arrived within five more minutes. The manager approached with a lengthy series of apologies but didn't really give us an opportunity to explain the situation. The most frustrating part? The salad was still missing two ingredients. When I pointed that out, he initially pushed back, insisting it wasn't possible because the chef had personally prepared it. At that point, my family had finished eating, so I packed the salad to go. Was the salad worth the wait? Surprisingly, yes. Once it was finally assembled correctly, it was very good. What still puzzles me is that the dish requiring the least amount of cooking at our table was the one that took the longest to prepare correctly. Would I return or recommend it to others? Yes, but with reservations. The food has a lot of potential, and the appetizers alone are worth trying. However, the kitchen's execution and the manager's handling of the situation left plenty of room for improvement.

My family ordered salads, some pancakes, a club sandwich, and I went bold with the million dollar breakfast sandwich (I too deserve nice things). Everyone else's food came out together... mine did not. Apparently my sandwich decided to take the scenic route. Our waitress didn't seem to notice or care that I was just sitting there without a plate. When I asked the runners about my plate, they said they'd let our server know since it wasn't on their ticket. That's okay, I get it. It happens! We all forget a thing or two. So I waited til I could locate our server to ask her if she entered it. It took our server a solid 15 minutes to make her way back to us, at which point I asked her for the sandwich I'd ordered a while ago. She did not seem moved by my plight and wandered off to, presumably, locate it. Another 10 minutes later, my sandwich arrived like a conquering hero around 25 minutes after everyone else had basically finished eating. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely not, it was just a breakfast sandwich. It would've been great if it had just shown up with everyone else's food like a normal menu item. The restaurant didn't seem busy, so I don't know what happened. Regardless the food was solid. The service could use some tweaking. Probably will be back, I won't let one bad day ruin my experience.

Went for the biscuits, but our very wise waitress, Adriana, warned us that the biscuits were made with lard. Well that knocked out a bunch or breakfast options. She was so sweet and actually went to the kitchen and marked the menu pointing out lard-free menu choices. On the menu. Using black ink dots. Above and beyond. So we regrouped our breakfast plans and went mainly vegetarian. The Herbivore was absolutely delicious! Antebellum cheese grits topped with garlicky kale, romanesco and a soft boiled egg. We added a second egg. Split with my hubby. So good!! My sister-in-law had the brioche French toast. French toast topped with honey better, fresh berries and pecan granola. Served with maple syrup. Amazing! Added the duck fat breakfast potatoes. Who knew that the flavor would be so enhanced with the onions, peppers and duck fat. Get this side! Not a coffee drinker, but my hubby really enjoyed the coffee that is sourced from Cusco, Peru. Adriana made sure that the cups were always full and hot. Thank you for the VIP service at Fixe Southern House. Resident discount applied. Born from Opelousas, Louisiana, breakfast served with a huge helping of southern hospitality. We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.
