The food is great. But I cannot understand why they cannot get a to go order right. Two times I told the young man what I wanted to go and he repeated it back to me exactly right. After I got home my order was not right they had left some stuff out. If I lived across the street it would not be too bad. But I live all the way on the other side of town and it makes it hard to turn around and go all the way back to get what you got left off. This request was totally ignored, so she spent her first 15 minutes trying to pick out the bleu cheese. The service was unprofessional in every way. New waitress was obviously overloaded with tables. Ordered sirloin medium with baked potato and baked squash, my mom placed same order except house salad instead of squash. My steak was cooked very well done and even black charred. The toppings for the baked potatoes was so sparse that we had to ask for additional sour cream. The waitress knew my steak was overcooked, but since my mom's steak was properly cooked I decided not to send mine back in an effort to just complete the meal and leave. At the end of the meal my mom asked the waitress for a to go box. I wasn't going to even bother with mine. She came back to present the check and I asked for the meal being boxed. Instead, she brought back a to go box. I went ahead and packed my charred briquettes of a steak. We waited another five minutes or so and finally decided to go to the waitresses station and request the package. At this point we were told the meal had been put in the trash. I asked to speak to a manager and none was available, so I asked for the name in order to contact later. I was told that they do not provide that information. At this point, my blood pressure was going up and my mom sensed that I was about to blow and convinced me to just leave. I'm not a difficult customer as I know how hard that job is, however I hold the restaurant to blame for overloading her and as far as the trashed leftovers go, I was so stunned when she offered to have the meal boxed because NO ONE does that except for the Finest restaurants. In the future I will definitely make sure a box is brought to the table. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences ever. A few years ago this Cotton Patch was decent, but I will find it hard to go back after my last experience. Our waitress was unreasonably inattentive and rude at times. We asked for extra rolls and refills, but never received either. Even though she spent most of her time talking to the table next to ours, she didn't seem to notice that we had been waiting a long time on food or that we didn't have any liquid in some of our cups. The food was a little below average but not the worst thing ever. A couple of our entrees didn't come out as we requested, but were tired of waiting and dealing with our waitress to ask for it to be corrected. read more

I've visited many times, and love certain dishes but...... It is very sad to see this restaurant on such a decline. We stood in line way to be seated probably 15-20 minutes, no host no greeter nothing. We went to bar area and sat and waited, for server, another 20 minutes. We sat there and watched people walk in and walk out. My wife spent more time getting our family silverware, napkins and refills. Their excuse was they were short handed, order wrong never got correct items. Sitting there listening to everyone yelling in the back. Honestly we couldn't wait to get out of there. read more

If your a biracial couple don't bother going to this restaurant. From the time we entered, until we left 30 minutes later without eating, the waitress ignored us on purpose. She started by asking us to move out of her section, never brought a bread basket, and took forever getting our drink order and bringing them. We watched as people that entered ten minutes after us were treated with dignity and respect. Our waitress looked me in the eyes, saw we needed drink refills and walked off with out coming to the table. At this point we were scared of her handling our food and walked out. My mother and I decided to come to this place for dinner Friday, September 21st it starter off completely bad, we both order tea to drink when we got our teas they were sour because the tea was so old our waiter even admitted that the tea was old, we should of left then but we decided to give it a chance that chance turned into a 50min wait for our food, by the time we received our food which was ice cold and over cooked at the same time we asked to speak with a manager we didn't want the meal but we at least wanted to pay for the food we tried to eat, the not so friendly manager stepped to our table and proceeded to tell us we were lying about our experience and that she made prepped our meals so she knows they were right....long story short just go to Chick-fil-A don't waste your money/time here read more

Eating lunch on a Sunday afternoon after all the churches let out is automatically a huge pain. Just about any place that serves some form of cream gravy is going to have a huge wait for artery-clogging food and questionable service. With a 30 minute wait, I guess that's considered reasonable for the time of day. The hostess was incredibly friendly although the host staff had no clue how to manage any party with more than two people. We waited for well over thirty minutes for a table for five while tables of two and three were seated immediately. After finally being seated at table meant for at least eight, I considered mopping up the greasy table with a bread roll so I could feel safe with my hands on the table. Our waiter was friendly but seemed a tad overwhelmed. I attempted to order something that wouldn't triple the size of waist so I went for the grilled salmon. Our food couldn't seem to come out all at once either. My salmon was incredibly rare as if I ordered extra rare tuna. A little unappetizing to say the least. Previous reviews seem to scowl at the "high prices" yet the most expensive item on the menu is about $12. I find that assessment quite false. That's the price of an average suburban chain joint entree. Overall, Cotton Patch isn't much to write home about. I think I'll pass on the "outhouse-chic" decor as well. read more

I read the reviews and was skeptical about coming.... After eating with 8 people 2 of which were in High Chairs, I am glad we did! The most expensive item was around $12. The portions were perfect!! Except for the Cheese Sticks.... They were HUGE! The margarita was perfect (frozen and on the rocks), the peach cobbler is a must!!! The reason I have 4 star instead of 5 is because of the restroom... It was not well kept and I had to inform them to mop the wet floor ( They did immediately). This place has Horrible service!!!! I waited over an hour for my steak, and they never took the bread. I asked the waitress multiple times, and when they finally brought the steak out they did not give us any utensils to eat with. waited about five min and I finally got up to get them and they gave my plastic utensils to eat my steak with. they stated I would have to wait for them because they did not have any. Most of the time this is understandable but there were two customers in that restaurant. And the Hostess was not very nice either. I basically had to take on her job and greet myself to her because she was too busy on her phone and her attitude in general was just god awful. Was so excited to try this place. We used to go here regularly, but lately, seldom. The food is good; the service worse every time. Two months ago, our waitress spent all her time seated in a booth across from us, talking to friends. We were never offered refills on tea or rolls, and had to get the other waitress to ask her to bring our ticket. Even then, she kept talking for several minutes before she brought it, with no pen to sign it, and she was back talking to her friends! This week, we decided to try once more, and husband went to find a waiter after waiting for 10 minutes. Went here for lunch with my daughter. The service was awesome! I ordered the chicken fried chicken which was juicy, but the sides were less desirable. My daughter compared the mac and cheese to the Kraft Mac and cheese you put in the microwave. The green beans were ok. The peach cobbler was amazing! I would definitely order that again. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We pulled up with a party of 7 and was told the wait was 30 minutes which wasn't a problem. We waited and got told it would be another 10 minutes. As we were waiting other party's are being sat as they walked in. We went back up to the host said and kaitlyn the host said they were setting up out table only to find out they sat another big party that came in way after us there. The manager was very rude and the host. We will definitely not be coming back. Rather go to McDonald's and get better services read more

Am giving 1 star because it's the lowest I can give. We went to restaurant about 5:00 today. Wasn't busy and was seated very quickly . Well.... that's the end of good service. 15 min later no one have even came to wait on us even though many servers passed our table. After almost 20 min, young lady that seated us walked by. This review is for the Monday night patio party with live music and free chips and dip. It was our first time here and the patio party made the atmosphere great when otherwise I'm sure it would be similar to any chain atmosphere. As for the food, it was meh. I got the fried catfish and shrimp plate with mac and cheese and broccoli. The sides were good and the shrimp was yummy, but the catfish itself had a fishier flavor, not inedible though. My husband had the one fork pot roast which he enjoyed. What stood out the most was our server. Showed up at Cotton patch about 11:50 AM on Sunday the 21st there was a wait for two for about 20 minutes and then we were seated and never seen anybody for 15 minutes and then was offered tea from the hostess then another 15 minutes go by and still haven't seen a waiter I went up to the hostess counter and asked twice if we could get a waiter I just got stared at so we ended up leaving we were there a total of an hour. I called the store to talk to a manager and when I told him what it happened he didn't really care I told him I'm probably gonna do a review and he said who cares so this will be my last time ever at Cotton patch. All she had to do was acknowledge I was there and I would have been okay with it. I am aware lone diners have a reputation as bad tippers. I usually overcompensate to try to change that.
