First time at Cotton Patch, really surprised by how clean the place was. My co-worker and I came during lunch. Server was quick and attentive, but not pushy. Menu really has just about anything you could imagine. I should've gotten something healthy, but I went with an order of onion straws to start, and chicken fried steak to finish. Everything was good, portions were HUGE. The broccoli was especially large and well prepared. I can't give just any place five stars, but they certainly didn't do anything wrong. We walked away without being service from this place. We waited and waited for a long period of time and nobody even dare to come to our table and ask us what to drink. Everybody just looked at us knowing we don't even have drinks to start with. What an awful experience. This place is very cute. The service was excellent. We had the queso and chips and skillet cornbread to start. Both were good. The cornbread was a little lacking in flavor but was cooked well. The queso and chips also came with salsa and was covered in brisket. Both were excellent. I had the fried green tomatoes. They were good. Not great. They did not taste homemade. My husband enjoyed the grilled cheese and my son fell in love with the brisket quesadilla. We were too full for dessert but they all look so yummy we ate plan to return another day. read more

Stopped in after moving our MSU student back in. First off, the restaurant was clean and neat. We were greeted by a young man, we later found out was the manager Josh. Were quickly seated by a member of the team. I say team, because that is how they appeared to operate together. Our server was very nice, the meal well cooked and presented in an orderly fashion that flowed nicely. Had the chicken fried steak. It was good! The drink glasses were kept full, and had some nice conversations with each of the staff that helped. The restaurant was not very busy as it was later on in the evening past the dinner crowd. During our meal, Josh the manager came by to check and see if all was well. I was kidding with him that he looked tired, pull up a seat and join us! He replied "Don't mind if I do!" Although he didn't actually eat with my family, we did have a very nice visit. Learned much about him and his philosophy of management in the restaurant business. And it shows. The bottom line; Clean facility, well lit. Warm welcoming at the door. A well prepared meal, served properly and flowed flawlessly. Sad to be writing this review because I love this place but highly disappointed with the last service I had on Monday the 1st of April 2019. Not really the service but the quality of food. Decided to go with the wife, and have the special we both had Chicken Fried Chicken. Sadly mine wasn't cooked all the way. I thought it looked a little pink, but lighting can sometimes make you see things differently. I go to warm it up on Wednesday only to discover my suspicious were true. My chicken wasn't cooked all the way through in the middle, and that can make people feel sick which I did, and now i know why. The front greeters are the rudest people I have experienced in some time. I love the food and the wait staff. The reason I return however the last two times I came the two young ladies were awful!!! They sat us at a table and didn't tell our waitress who was in the back busy, let us sit 15 minutes without even a acknowledgment or get us a drink while they sat up there laugh and on their phone. We had a wonderful experience at the new store in Wichita Falls, TX. Staff were very polite and good to meet our needs without hovering. This is the first time we ever ate at a Cotton Patch Cafe. They were out of the chicken fried bacon, so we will need to find another store when leaving TX for home. Fried green tomatoes were exceptional! Great flavor. This is a bit long but SO worth your time! We called in a curbside order and were on our way to get it when we had a severe emergency with our fur baby. I somehow kept it together to call and cancel so they wouldn't make it. Got bad news at the vet but we did have to eat and I still wanted cotton patch. The talked to the same girl on the phone that took my original order and asked if Emmie was ok and they were SO kind and caring. My hubby went to go pick it up again and the manager brought our order out, explained he'd gone through something similar and said we are gonna take care of this for you! Every time I come to visit my parents I ask to go to the Cotton Patch. We usually go one which ever day has the chicken spaghetti ( it is really yummy). I always have a hard time deciding what to get usually my husband and I will order two different items and then share back and forth. The rolls are very tasty. We also get the queso dip and it comes with a very yummy salsa too. I got the dumpling soup last time and it was really yummy. I am from the part of the county that does not do dumpling soup ( sigh) and so when I can get it I do. They also have yummy iced tea however when I went last time it was cold out so I got hot tea instead. I believe we got an apple crisp which was also tasty. They can get a little busy but the food is tasty and the service is usually good. read more

Cotton Patch is a typical chain restaurant along the lines of Applebee's, but they seem to be located in mid-sized Texas towns. Overall, my experience here was good. I ordered fried shrimp and catfish and it was flavorful. Broccoli as a side was spiced with pepper, and was from frozen stock, but was still pretty good. I also got broccoli rice casserole (on a broccoli kick that night, i guess). It was really cheesy (kind of reminicient of velveeta). I was alone and sat at the bar for service. Corn was corn, but I wished they would have drained it before serving. Potato's appears to have been scooped out with an ice cream scooper. We love this place. Down home, Southern style cooking. Beer and wine is available. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff. My Mom uses a walker and a couple of staff members held the door for her and greeted us warmly. We love the veggie plates, the cheese sticks are fantastic. Excellent comfort food. read more

Been going to Cotton Patch for several years but last two times haven't been very good. Last time we went, I got a Hamburger and the bun was so stale I didn't even eat my meal. They never brought my husbands salad till we asked about it again and he was finished with his meal. Waiter only came once during entire meal and it wasn't that busy. I hate writing bad reviews but as for us, we won't be back! They now have surcharges added so I'll spend my money where at least food is good. My sister had similar experience in Chickasha with stale food and up charge so they said they was done going there also. Such a shame because they were good at one time. read more

I recently went in for lunch and ordered the hamburger steak lunch with mashed potatoes and green beans. I was told I could only have one side with the new menu, so I went with mashed potatoes. The steak was very small and the potatoes was an ice cream scoop of potatoes. I asked if bread was served with the new menu lunch and I was told that I had to request bread. The new lunch menu is very small servings and only ok taste. I have been a customer for years but given the stingy small menu and having to ask for bread I will lunch elsewhere. Have enjoyed Cotton Patch for many years, but looks like that has come to an end. We went in for the Monday special, as we have for quite a while. Were told it had been discontinued, so we ended up paying more and got less meat when we ordered the regular chicken fried steak. The meat was tough and the outer crust was hollow in places, making the steak look larger. We were told the beef tips and rice had been discontinued. We had tried to order that last Monday, and were told they were out. Had to ask for our bread and didn't get it until we were almost finished with the meal. Never got drink refills. ll be honest, I can't give the CPC chain anything bad, but again it's all about location, location, location with these chains. This one in particular blows me away. It's one thing that the food has always filled me up when I eat, but the servers at this location are friendly, all the waiters seem willing to check on all the customers, and of course the manager walks around rather than hiding away in the corner. The server I had seemed new and gave me the option of cup or bowl with the soup that went with my meal, only to come back to say she messed up and asked which I wanted and that the bowl would be the extra charge. I went with cup, but they brought the bowl soon after and told me I wouldn't be charged for it. I do appreciate that. All in all, food filled me up and the service was great. I visited Cotton Patch Cafe for the first time yesterday. I came away mightily impressed. The entire ambience is friendly and "comfortable". The menu is very complete and offers choices for all tastes and budgets. Two things stood out to me. First - the food. SENSATIONAL flavor palette and the portion size was beyond generous. The food was delicious and the service was really praise-worth. I mentioned to my wonderful waitress that I was new to the area and about 10 minutes later the General Manager came by to introduce himself and he presented me with a lovely gift bag. I was blown away. The gifts were really nice and the manner in which Josh Cragg presented them was memorable. I will be back often - I see many things on the menu that I was to try. I understand things are different and certainly more complicated for restaurants during Covid, but all that aside, it is no reason to treat customers poorly. Today, we decided to go to Cotton Patch because they advertised a special on Facebook of $5 chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steaks and my great grandkids (11 & 6) love chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak. We arrived at the restaurant at 4:15, masks on, and it seemed we were well ahead of the rush. Still, we were told there would be a 45 minute wait because of the size of our party and that we could not wait inside the restaurant. Got it, so we went to the car to wait and ran a couple of quick errands. I came back at 5:00 to check on our table but the hostess said they were not ready to seat us. Went back to the car. At 5:10 a young lady from the restaurant called to inform us that they were out of both chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. Great! We had now been waiting an hour and the special we came for was off. Finally, at 5:24, they called and said they were ready to seat us, but by that time, we had two very disappointed children and so we decided not to eat there. Instead, we went to Pioneer on Maplewood, got right in, and the great grandkids got what they wanted. Wish we had gone to Pioneer first -- next time we definitely will. read more

It was fried perfectly and my plate was loaded with more food than I could eat so I had leftovers! AMAZING FOOD! I can't wait to go back and try something else!
