Let me start by saying, if I could give more stars above , I would. My wife and I were visiting from out of town. We had some not so pleasant experiences at a couple restaurants in Wichita Falls. I want to express my gratitude to Manager Jay, and the entire staff on duty 12 AUG 2020 4PM. First and foremost the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They made certain that our dining experience was both enjoyable and memorable. Our food was hot, delicious and accurate. There were two waitresses on the floor at the time, they worked in tandem to ensure that things got to our table in a timely manner. My wife had the loaded potato soup to start, sirloin steak medium, mac & cheese, broccoli, side of grilled shrimp, and dr. pepper cake. I had the chicken & dumplings to start, ribeye steak medium, loaded baked potato, side if fried shrimp, and butter cake. Everything was spot on, delicious, hot, well portioned and fairly priced. I have been traveling the last week with my mother. We have been through quite a few states and the food we got tonight was the best thing I've eaten all week! 10/10 will definitely have again when we are staying in Texas. I dont like to write review like this one but there is always a first time for everything. We took the all you can eat catfish on Friday. It took them 30 minutes to serve the food (decent time) and kids meal. We had not had a homemade roll by this time so we had to ask the server. The side dish (kids meal) is wrong as well. We then ask for a refill of catfish and it took 30 minutes for a refill. Then we are told that there is no more catfish. After eating, I decided to pay upfront and told the manager about no catfish. He insist that there is catfish but they had to cut up, etc so its low. You offer an all you can eat catfish so if there is none or supply is low I expect a simple apology should suffice but what I hear was trying to defend that he had done nothing wrong. read more

This place looked so interesting we had to try it. We were seated quickly and service was very friendly. The menu had a ton of food to order. We got fried mushrooms, which were really good. My husband got the chicken fried steak with veggie sides...he said it was way more than he could eat and really good. I got the catfish with broc casserole and potatoes, Catfish was flavored well, more than i could eat, had to take some home. Best broc casserole I have ever had, will got back just for that. Dined here for the first time and expected to only order fried green tomatoes and a salad. I ended up having fried green tomatoes, chicken fried steak with baked squash and green beans, and homemade blackberry cobbler with ice cream. Everything was delicious! My friend had bacon cheese fries, grilled fish, and peach cobbler; he enjoyed his food as well. Delicious food topped with AMAZING, friendly service by Jon! Walking in the restaurant was rather slow and took a little longer to get seated but my girlfriend and I came an hour before closing so they more than likely sent the host home. We have reason to believe that since it was an hour before closing they didn't want to make the crispy mushrooms that are a popular choice for an appetizer. The bread was not at all warm and our server sir Anthony only brought out two rolls which was fine given the fact that it was just my girlfriend and I. He was a little slow bringing refills but did consistently check in which was nice. We were seated about 45 minutes before getting our food and it did come out hot. My girlfriend had the true Texas tenders she split the flavors and got the honey barbecue and tajìn with a side of fries and sautéed mushrooms. I myself got the super combo fish and shrimp with jalapeno hush puppies and Mac and cheese. Our dinners were good and well made, can't complain about that. We definitely plan on coming back and giving the restaurant service another chance, the food is what's bringing us back. read more

The service is always great! They are fast, well mannered, I've never had a bad server. The place is never too loud, even when it's busy. Everything is great, I'm just not that big a fan of the food. Everyone else I know loves this place, the chicken strips are bomb. But seriously, try it, it is worth your time. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in Wichita Falls. There isn't a single meal I've tried that I didn't like. We are here on a Thursday lunch rush and sat at the bar. Great food and background music, good service--I will definitely come back. The chicken and dumplings was delicious, as was the peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Mediocre at best. I supposed that Wichita Falls is not geographically setup for fresh seafood. Fish and shrimp had a store bought, flash frozen taste. I could also tell that the oil the food was fried in had not be changed recently. Although, I can not compare this to any other seafood restaurant in Wichita Falls, I am very familiar with fresh seafood from the Northwest, as well as California, and Hawaii. Nothing is wrong with this cotton patch per say but it is really just one of those places you pick because no one can agree on anything to eat and they serve a little bit of it all. It ranks up there next to Chili's. They do not serve endless rolls like they use to which is a downer since that was one of the best things they use to offer & they got rid of the buffalo chicken salad which was the best menu item in my opinion. The table space is really cramped for a Cotton Patch. I have been to the original one in Nacogdoches, TX and it is much more spacious. Other than that everything is equally mediocre, nothing amazing nothing horrific. The wait staff is fine, food is timely, it is just not very impressive. read more

We had a long day, 3 hours of "last minutes" to get on the road and then 10 hrs of driving. After many years of stopping in Wichita Falls on our way to Louisiana we decided to do something besides grab burgers to bring back to the room for dinner. What a great change of pace and delicious food! We ordered Chicken and Dumplings, I had soup cup size, my husband had the dinner. The dumplings were tender and tasty, the chicken had good flavor. The stock was definitely enhanced with prepared broth, but for a chain it was very very good. I had the cob salad which was well proportioned quality ingredients. My desert, blackberry cobbler, reminded me of my grandmother's, again a good restaurant rendition of home cooking. My husband had the Mama's butter cake. It was very good but a little will go a long way. Online ordering was easy, the food was as described and the staff at the "TO GO" entrance and check out was gracious and accommodating. We will definitely order from Cotton Patch Cafe again! And when we aren't so tired we will even "dine in". I can't wait to give the fried catfish a try. read more

When the place first opened it was a lot better. We went there last night and had to leave. We ordered steaks but we were told that they were out of potatoes. So no baked potato with the steak. Every time I go the men's bathroom is never clean. Paper towels in the floor. Gum in the urinal. Last night the restaurant itself was filthy. Floors were very dirty. Waiter wasn't friendly. After all was said and done we just paid for the drinks and left. Years ago the manager would always come to the table and ask how is everything. Not anymore. In fact I don't think the restaurant even has a manager anymore. The food itself is just above fast food. With the food the way it is and the filth I will not be going back. read more

We go here often, it's a bit of a cheaper choice for our family of 5. The food here I think is fairly good, I seem to notice a bit of a southern flair to the food -i.e. chicken fried steak..ect.. but they do have some surf and turf options too. The kids meals come with an oreo cookie which my kids love. They have a few appetizers that ew've gotten and have been pleased with. Sometiems the wait is rather long with little room for a lot of people to sit. Overall the service is a hit or miss type. we've had some really good servers that have been right n t when our glasses were half empty, but then there have been other times when our appetiser got to our table the same time our food did. They normally offer or already have comment cards at the table, we have filled a few out with good and bad comments and each time we were given a 1 free meal ticket with a letter thanking us for our good comments and one o an appology for our bad service. That was nice to see that the comment cards are actually being read. The last time we went my husband filled one out for the waitress because she did a good job and put up with our kids who were not acting the best that night. They sent us a free appetiser ticket, so it's very nice that they are reading and responding to the comment cards. Overall I recommend this palce because the food is good more often than not, and the price is reasonable for our family. read more

I visited cotton patch last night with my girlfriends family. It was a first time visit for me. As i entered i really liked the environment, it seemed laid back but with food that on commercials seemed good. I was impressed with service, great servers who were really friendly. Also manager made time to come by always positive. Where it lacked was the food. I had a chicken fried steak that was not so impressive others tried fish and chips , also not so impressive.
