Wanting to try something different in the area, we decided on 20/59 Restaurant & Bar. It is in a…read morefamiliar space off the interstate, so no problems finding the location. We were seated by the owner since we bumped into him while entering the restaurant. Our server explained it was the owner's birthday and we would be receiving complimentary bran muffins (those were delicious)!!! My mom ordered the grilled shrimp, cheese grits and braised cabbage. She would try another side in place of the grits next time but overall she enjoyed her meal. I ordered the catfish dinner (requested fried hard/crispy) loaded baked potato (prefer to be a little hotter) and green beans. Check them out if in the area.

It seemed as if they only had one server working at the time but she was nice and patient. I ordered a margarita which took a good minute to arrive but it was good. I will say the service was kind of slow but I can't complain since there was only one server (from what I could see). The food was very flavorful and hot when it arrived to the table. I was surprised at how big the shrimp were but the wings were somewhat small. Overall this was an okay experience, it would be a great place for early-day dining instead of dinner.

Wow! A spot-on real deal Mexican restaurant in the outskirts of Tuscaloosa! Who would have thunk…read moreit? OK, we're big-time Tex-Mex food fans, but we find it quite difficult to find high-quality Tex-Mex or even Mexican restaurants in the US south outside of Texas. This place is a game changer. When we stopped here, we were prepared to be disappointed in issuing two or three star rating at the most. Every single item we ordered was tasty and delectable. Our entrées were Carne Asada; and, Shrimp of the Devil (Camerones el Diablo). Both were fresh, tasty, and delicious. The shrimp were prepared in a special hot sauce, which was in an of itself, delectable (but only if you have a big glass of water to drink). My wife liked it so much she just wanted to taste the sauce! We weren't going to have dessert, but after watching several dessert pass by via the waitress to other tables, we decided order Flan and a mixture of a sopsvilla with fried ice cream. Ugh! Spectacular! If you're in the Tuscaloosa area, go and enjoy. It's worth it. Prices are reasonable. There's a happy hour for drinks. We had two margaritas each: very very good. This restaurant is located directly across the street from brand new Holiday Inn in Tuscaloosa at Cottondale, AL 35453.

Attached to a gas station with a door between the two; and restrooms in the gas station side only. The food was not to my taste, service was slow (and there were only four tables with customers at the time, including ours), and the wrestling decor was just a turnoff for me. I must be more of a Tex-Mex person. But if what I'm describing is your thing, then you may enjoy it. I will say that the other couple dining with my husband and me did really enjoy their food. But hubby and I won't be returning.
