That said out food cane out separately by over 10 minutes and the waitress did not check on us once after the food was ordered then when were were ready to pay she said "please pay up front" and disappeared. We came here with a large group (8) after a conference and we got seated right away. Amazing! The food came out super quick, too. Lots of noodle dishes and other unique menu items. I absolutely loved the rice noodles and tofu I got. Even my coworkers who don't like tofu had to try it! The Vietnamese coffee was definitely the highlight of the meal. Ordered pick up and when I parked out front, I had some reservations on whether the food was good. It looked like the place had gone out of business when you get a look of the front. However, it does get better once you go in. Taste was spot on for food. Spring rolls were fresh and delicious but both rolls split open down the middle. I would definitely be back regardless of the split spring rolls since it did not detract from the taste. The owner was so sweet and the food was delicious! The spring rolls are probably the best my mom and I have ever had. Crisp, fresh, compact and well put together. I could eat it with or without the sauce! The beef pho was delicious and I can't wait to eat my leftovers later! The noodles were thick strips which I wasn't used to but it was better using chopsticks so I think I now prefer my pho noodles that way because of CoTu. My mom got the special for the day and said that it was also very good (I don't remember what it was called) the bathroom is in the back of the restaurant. Living in Bloomington whenever I had the craving for Vietnamese food we went to Quangs in Minneapolis. That is going to change now that we found this little gem of a restaurant in Bloomington. Went there today and was pleasantly surprised! Wife ordered the vermicelli salad with egg rolls. The portion was huge and very tasty. I had the fried rice noodle seafood dish and it reminded of my moms cooking when I was a kid, which means it was good. We also ordered the chicken wings and cream cheese wontons. The chicken wings were light and crispy and very large compared to other Asian restaurants we go to. The cream cheese wontons were very good, light skin and just the right amount of cream cheese. Two bowls of Pho to go and spring rolls and a big thing of chicken lo mein for the kids....all for $30? Hell yeah! The Pho was great, nice savory broth with nice flavor, and all the fixings in a to go box to add as I like. Plus that spicy sauce is a must. This was seriously the best pork noodle salad that I've ever had. The flavors were all amazing - from the glaze on the pork, to the marinade of the veggies, to the fish sauce, to the flavorful herbs on top. Yum, I'll definitely be back just for this salad! The cream cheese wontons were great as well. And they do a nice job packaging everything for optimal to-go travels...for example wontons were in a paper sack, and egg rolls in a wax paper bag. I did my pho research and found this gem. AMAZING pho! Broth had wonderful depth and it was delicious. Kids had chicken lo mein and they loved it. My most favorite Vietnamese restaurant in Minneapolis area so far. Menu is simple enough and the dishes are delicious. The taste is very authentic, very comparable to the original taste in Vietnam, especially for Pho and Bun Bo Hue. Every time I'm craving of Bun Bo Hue, I need to drive here. For Pho, they also use the kind of fresh flat noodle that is used in Vietnam, not the thin one that is used everywhere in the US (except California). Had the Pho with beef and flank. Very good. The soup broth is very good and a little different from the typical Pho in US. More similar to those that you get in Vietnam now. I live in OC, California and frequent all the Pho restaurants at Westminster, Little Saigon, so I know pho well. I've also visited Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city. This is good pho. My spouse and I LOVE this place. He believes Co Tu's is the best Pho in the universe. I made the mistake of ordering the best thing on the menu my first visit, and now can't order anything else. I won't burden you with the knowledge that will place you in the same trap. My only concern, and it is one I have for many restaurants, is the sad pile of unrecyclable garbage that is left after getting a take out meal. Might be the best Pho I have had in the Twin Cities! This place is a gem with cozy clean ambiance and great service....and back to the Pho. I order it with Beef and the broth is delicate, rich and layered with flavor and beef cooks itself perfectly in the broth.
