Fun fact: Quang is as old as I am, established in 1989 it's truly a childhood staple of mine. We grew up going here every Sunday after church so there's so much nostalgia coming here. We used to go when they were across the street in the small space. To me this is the OG Vietnamese place to recommend when people ask where to get great Vietnamese food. Food is always good and service is great. It has been a long time since I've been here and I'm glad to see they still have a lot of options available, even weekend specials. I had to taste the banh cuon since that is a weekend specials and not easily found in restaurants. It did not disappoint. The nuoc mam was perfect. Filling was good but I wish there were more fresh herbs for garnish. Bun Bo hue was filled with meat and protein!! I can't believe how much was in there. I normally don't like a ton of meat but this was so tender I ate it all. Pho was good. Broth had a strong star anise flavor but I like that. The mi hoanh ton soup was good but not the best. The wontons were huge! I appreciate the amount of protein in it. Cream cheese wontons flavor was good, wish there was more than 4 pieces per order though. Nem nuong serving size was pretty small. Wish we would've ordered the nem nuong spring rolls instead. Bubble tea tasted like strawberry milk, very sweet. Not my favorite but my daughter gave it 10/10. Salmon rice was good, we were able to add eggs for $4. The chili oil is very hot so be careful how much you add. 4% discount if you pay in cash. Gratuity added for parties of 5 or more. Easy to grab to go at the front if you are in a rush. We grabbed more to go after we ate too. The tri color dessert was ok, not my favorite but I liked the sweetness of the coconut milk in there. Got a table right away on a Sunday for dinner. The cream cheese wontons came out quick and were hot, just lacked a little crisp. Lots of cream cheese ratio. Buon Bo Hue was spicy, had a good amount of meat. Pho broth was flavorful and passed for good pho. I hated the bowl, it is so narrow and you can barely fit any additional toppings. Nem Nuong was underwhelming, a lot smaller than expected. Banh Cuon is a weekend special. They were pretty thick and didn't absorb much of the sauce but had a good balance of filling and toppings. I can't believe it's been almost four years since my last visit here. I ordered the Angus Beef Ribyeye Pho. It did not disappoint. The beef broth was delicious and flavorful, there was plenty of the ribeye steak and crunchy vegetables in the pho. The service today was excellent with a smiling attentive waiter. My visit was late afternoon and the restaurant was quiet. There weren't too many people and I had plenty of space to feel comfortable. We went here for dinner on a Saturday evening and it wasn't too busy. Luckily they have lots of space so we were seated right away. The wait staff was friendly and provided good service. We got the cream cheese wontons for our app and dang they were delicious. The table also got a traditional Banh mi, lemongrass chicken and grilled beef & egg roll noodle salad. Hands down the best egg rolls, $8.50 was 10/10 Vermicelli Beef Stir fry, $15 was 4/10 (slimy noodles, meat tastes full of MSG, tender & full of salt) Service 1/10 (took forever to get the check, got the same server that I had last time that never brings the chili oil when asked so I had to ask a different server... nothings changed). Banh Mi 0/10 (their cold cut banh mi does not have authentic head cheese... no head cheese at all... shameful to charge $10 Banh mi with no head cheese & lack of meats & veggies but such a big breaded Banh mi... they charge a "poor man Banh mi" with barely any filling for $10... shameful... We were recommended to come here during our visit in Minneapolis and we're glad we did. We ordered bun bo hue and a grilled chicken vermicelli which was a safe pick. I was blown away by the bun bo hue because of the deep flavors that was also aromatic. It was the best I've had. The grilled chicken vermicelli was standard. The place was packed right as it opened. Quang restaurant. This is our standby for great food. Period. However today's order (ahead of snowpocalypse March 2026) was a bit off, but was redeemed by the delivery service, Grubhub. Thanks Grubhub! The food was delivered in about 40 minutes to our house, which in and of itself is not bad for Minneapolis. When I went outside to get the food from the Grubhub delivery person, the bag seemed a bit wet. I thanked the driver, and said to stay safe with the impending snow storm (up to 2 feet of snow in some areas forecasted). Once I got it into the house, I was impressed that Quang sealed the plastic bag with tape to prevent tampering. However, once I opened the plastic bag, I found out the reason why the bag was so wet. The cover of the pho broth had come loose, and about a cup of the amazing broth had soaked the entire bag. Luckily, everything inside the bag was in its own container (two orders of egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, and a bbq pork salad). No worries thankfully, but Quang should bag the pho broth separately in its own bag IMO. Shoutout to Grubhub though. They made it right and issued a partial refund, and a $5.00 credit. Aside from the minor problem, the food from Quang was still amazing, minus some of that great broth. read more

Finally got to try Quang to see if it was hyped up to be and it turns out... yeah it seemed a little too good to be true. So Quang was highly recommended by countless Minnesotans as being a great example of Vietnamese casual dining, and while there were some big positives, the food itself left something to be desired. Lets begin with the good. You enter and are politely greeted and I was seated immediately. Inside the modern and updated building, it's giving an upscale vibe with tons of businessmen and women chatting about work and seats are extremely close to one another. You order and the food comes out in less than 2 minutes. Service is very fast for American standards. I ordered the Pho Tai, a sliced beef pho which is what I normally get at any other Pho spot, but I also tried the 402. combination platter with pork, fried rice. The dishes are high quality, insulating bowls that don't burn you when you grab it, which are nice touches. Pho Tai: 8/10 Definitely good pho, I thought it met its expectations, but I did feel like the broth here is slightly inferior to what you'd get at Lotus. Little thinner that I would personally like but not bad. Combination Pork Plate (402): Can't remember the exact name, it was 402 on the menu but Imo this is a 4/10, I did not like this. For the price of close to $15 this is easily worse than the $13 Pho, and it definitely feels and tastes mid. I rarely have to add sauce to it but everything was very dry and the pork wasn't great. Balancing it out the food and ambiance combined makes this a 7/10. Positives include the modern look and speed of service while food brings it down. Not what I expected when coming in but I'm confident to say that is Quang currently with these 2 example dishes. read more

When I say this place brings back memories, I mean it really brings back memories; I'm pretty sure this entire aspect of the restaurant was the fourth earliest memories that came to mind--right after my dinosaur toys, eating crayons, and watching Blue's Clues. To this day, this well-deserved recognition of a classic gem Vietnamese restaurant has made it my family's go-to spot, with every dish evoking both my childhood memories and theirs from when they lived in Vietnam. Of course, I always vouch for the pho, but you really can't go wrong with any of the other options. A smart touch to display and showcase a variety of Vietnamese foods and drinks near the entrance for those stopping by for a quick bite or takeout. Visited 12/14/25. I've been wanting to pay my first visit to Quang for years and I finally made it (will definitely return sooner though). They have a lot out front, which is super nice parking-wise. We didn't make a reservation and came in for lunch on a Sunday. We were seated right away and our waitress was kind throughout. She made really great suggestions when we asked our specific questions and I was so glad I took her advice of what weekend special to order. I got the bun rieu (crab and pork noodle soup) Sunday special, my mom got the grilled beef noodle salad, and my sister got the vegetarian egg roll noodle salad. I have a bit of a cream cheese wonton addiction so I added those on last minute as well. Wow am I glad I did. These were the best wontons I've had in a really long time. Something about the dough of them made them have a slight chew to them and both my sister and I agreed we were so glad we got them. Everything else was phenomenal too. The bun rieu Sunday special warms your soul and if you like seafood type flavors with a beautiful tomato broth, you will absolutely love this. The salads were both delicious in their own right-shout out to both the beef and the veg egg rolls. The best part was how much extra food we ended up with-lots of leftovers for a future meal. I love a no-frills Vietnamese spot serving up big delicious bowls of pho. No roadside robbery, or "creative" Asian inspired cocktails, what you see is what you get. While Quang offers other Vietnamese classics like bahn mi, rice platters, and bun, I'm a sucker for pho and their pho slaps. I got the pho with the works: angus, tendon, brisket, tripe, meatballs and they gave plenty of noodles and protein. Even without the condiments, you can tell the soup was boiled for hours. Remember to ask for some chili oil and throw that in with the aromatics. That's a perfect meal for a rainy day . My partner enjoyed himself the pork chop platter which came with rice and a side salad. The pork was tender and well seasoned. To wash it all down, my partner and I downed two coconut juices to balance our savory entrees. The only additional thing we had was the fried vegetable dumplings that we could've skipped on. The holy trinity of delicious food, quick service, and affordability makes Quang the ideal food spot, especially if you're coming out of the MIA. This is my favorite pho place in the twin cities. Its a bit expensive but the pho is consistently delicious. On the weekend they have this ribeye pho that melts in your mouth - oh its so gooood. I love the broth here, the flavors are so deep. I usually recommend the cream cheese wontons and the honeycomb bread here. The taste for this soup tasted a bit different to me, I am not sure what the seasoning that was added but it was not familiar for me and I couldn't pinpoint it. It did not taste veg full. Loved this place! If you're looking for a vibrant spot on a Friday night, this is where the crowd is. We were visiting out of town and decided to try their bun bo hue - it did not disappoint! The flavors were packed with spice, just the way I love it. The dish came out in about 5 minutes, which was impressive. We also tried the rice plate with grilled pork. The pork was delicious, but I would have liked a little more spice in the nuoc mam (sauce). The only thing missing was a side of soup, but that's a small detail compared to the overall experience. I thought the Chicken Pad Thai was delicious and the portion was so large it gave me three meals! Lovely spice to it, chicken was nicely cooked, and the noodles had just the right bite to them. The Pork Egg Rolls were outstanding, with a crispy wrapper that shatters with every bite yet not overly greasy. I love fish sauce, so I got extra. My mouth is watering as I type this! The only miss - but it was a big one - was the Shrimp Spring Rolls. I had the pho tai. it was tasty and had a good amount of noodles and meat. I did end up adding some Sriracha and hoisin sauce to the broth to add a little bit more depth to the flavor. We also had the cream cheese wontons, which were good and filling. They have a parking lot, which is nice for the area so you don't need to stress looking for some. They only have two bathrooms for the restaurant, and every time I've visited, there's been a line or wait to get to the bathroom. Every time I come here I get the LEMONGRASS CHICKEN! 10/10 Highly recommend. The pickled veggies and rice are the perfect touch. Sometimes I just mix it all together just to enjoy all of the wonderful flavors together. Funny thing too, I had never tasted lemongrass chicken, until years ago I saw it some someone's plate looking all delicious. And decided to try it. It was love at first bite.
