Country Carpet..BIG MISTAKE. I Learned a costly lesson from a local established business. SHAME ON THEM!! I purchased a 5 X7 area rug for $3,000, waited 6 months for delivery, upon receiving questioned its size,& was told they would view rug in house and evaluate. Never happened. Because I'm not a designer, I believed the sales rep, Sherry, that all was good. MY BIG Mistake. This rug is not the right size, everyone tells me, it's too small... WORSE, I went back to Country Carpet, to get an indoor /outdoor runner for the inside entrance to my house.I picked 1 out and was told that this 3x7 rug was $800, and that there was nothing under that price. I can't believe this is such a DISHONEST ESTABLISHMENT!! every business should make a profit, but this business is incredibly greedy, I purchased the same rug Sherry at Country Carpet showed me for $354. I used them 10 years ago and was not happy with my wood floor installation. I decided to give them another try this year because we wanted carpet. We spoke to a sales person who helped us look at rugs, window treatments and wallpaper. Said she would call us. Never did. I called and left a message and sent 2 emails. No response at all. Currently switched to stark carpet which is about a block away and they have been responsive and far superior in every way. I will never recommend country carpet to anyone. read more

We spent $15,000+ on carpets for our entire home, we are now 4 months out and still issues cannot get the sales rep to call me back. Worst experience ever with a carpet company. Rep Laura could care less once the order was installed and there were issues. She told me there was nothing she could do but that she would forward my concerns to the Service manager Paul and he would call me. When I never heard from Paul I emailed her letting her know and she never responded either. Agree with the other reviews that once they have your money they could care less. We purchased two rooms of wall to wall Stanton carpet from Country Carpet in Syosset and have been very disappointed. We chose them because they had a relationship to Stanton carpet, and we thought that if anybody knew how to install this carpet, it would be them. The Trouble started with the installation. A team of subcontractors showed up and laid the pad and carpet down on our wood floor. Out of the corner of my eye I saw one of the installers using a knife to cut the pad on my floor! I said, "stop, stop" but he did not speak English. In the master bedroom the installers did such a poor seam at the entrance to both closets that they looked crooked and the pattern did not match. As we were looking at the poor seams, we noticed many loops of carpet that were sticking up, especially around the perimeter. Some loops were actually cut and frayed, not just sticking up. We called Paul, the contact at Country Carpet to complain, and sent him photos of the unacceptable installation. He said this was one of his best teams. He then told us that the one who spoke English was the leader, and his brother the assistant. What about the third guy? Oh, he was just up from Florida visiting! He was the one who was cutting the pad on my floor!! In the guest bedroom the carpet had wrinkles, buckles and waves, plus mismatched seams in the two closets and many loops again pulled up and/or cut along the perimeter. Unacceptable! He agreed to have another team come out to "repair" the carpets. They tried to tuck the loops in but could do nothing for the seams. More photos and calls to Paul at Country Carpet. Paul sent out an "inspector"on another day to look at the crooked mismatched seams. All this took time - our time! After another set of phone calls, they agreed to replace the master bedroom carpet. The team that did this was a world apart from the original installer. But they could do nothing for the guest bedroom carpet, which still had the wrinkles, buckles, waves and mismatched seams in the closet. We emailed more photos to Paul. When we did not hear back we again called him, resent the photos and called him to be sure that he received them. Although he was very polite, nothing has been done to fix or replace the guest bedroom carpet. These carpets cost over $11,000. I would not recommend this company. read more

I always return for their fantastic selection, the quality of their carpets, their professional staff, their installation services and their follow up if necessary. This time I purchased both flooring and carpeting for my new home. Greg Penny in the flooring department could not have been more helpful. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and accommodating. I love that the carpet salespeople have design experience. The staff have been there for years (which says so much), they know their inventory and are so helpful with making selections. I worked with Robin this time and she helped me make a wonderful carpet selection. It's difficult for me to understand that there are any negative reviews about this company. I had Country Carpet install a floating wood floor in my home. I was told that in order to have that type of floor installed it required saddle transitions. The saddles that Country Carpet installed are terrible. In no way does it come close to blending into the floor. The saddles look like speed bumps. It is more of a safety hazard than anything else. Not only did they do a poor job on the saddle transitions, but I have also seen numerous homes since that do not require saddles. It seems that Country Carpet just wanted a quick way out of doing the job. It is a shame because the price already seemed expensive in the first place. I would definitely not recommend using Country Carpet for floors. read more

Wish there was a ZERO star option. HORRIBLE customer service and the installers are even worse. Ordered high end carpet. Installers seemed they were on Medicare/AARP. The carpet was defective. Took them over 6 months to replace it. Customer service was beyond pathetic. They don't give a s__t ! The second installment was even worse ! Have called more than 10 times without a response! I wouldn't even have them carpet my dog house! Owners should be ashamed of themselves. Hope they go out of business. Based on reading other reviews, that's where they're headed. Don't use this company. They tried bait and switch on us. We had a written quote of $4500 for approximately 170 square yards of carpet. The measurement was 172 square yards, but all of a sudden they wanted $4950 or else they would put 5 seams in our not huge living room. When we said no, all of a sudden the price came down to $4750. At that point we didn't believe anything they said. They then inundated us with calls. The salesperson even drove to our house and stuck an invoice for the "reduced" price in our door. Bottom line- we found the same thing elsewhere for almost $2000 less and they lost a big sale. read more

I thought Country Carpet would be overpriced, but at a friend's urging I went to them nonetheless. Boy was I wrong ! First, Bruce and Dina were amazing! Not only did they get my vision and aesthetic very quickly but they completely respected that I had a budget and worked very hard to keep me within it. Their professionalism and kindness were above and beyond. Add to that the wonderful people who installed my carpet (just today). They were also amazing and went to great lengths to make sure the installation was exactly how I wanted it. The job they did lining up the pattern was fabulous. Purchased carpet in June 2011. Installers arrived hours past the scheduled appointment, around 5 PM at night. To say they were rushing to get out, is an understatement. After they finally finished, I had issues regarding how the carpet appeared. Carpet was cut short in some aread and poorly seamed where 2 pieces were joined. While the color & pattern were the same as the swatch I had brought home to make my decision, the quality of the carpet was far inferior to what I was told to expect. Despite a hefty price tag, the carpet looked very cheap and the poor installation (which is now unraveling less than a year later) made it look even worse. Calls to Country Carpet to voice my concerns went unanswered. When a rep finally came to look, they thought it looked just fine. Bottom line, they had no reason to address my problems once they were paid in full. Less than a year later, the carpet is wearing poorly. Will never ever set foot in there again, and strongly urge any looking to find a more reputable, high quality business concern than Country Carpet & Cleaning. read more

I purchased a few area rugs from country carpet over the last year or so and was always very happy with them. My feelings changed after I just recently had a runner installed in my hallway. They had to sew two pieces together and where the seam is, there is an obvious bump in the runner. They sent someone more than once to come and look at the bump and finally someone came to repair it. Unfortunately, it looks exactly the same and the problem hasn't been corrected. I spent a lot of money on this runner and it is unacceptable to tell me that there is nothing else that can be done. I find it very hard to believe that all runners installed in homes have bumps like this where the seam is. It's half fast work and I won't be purchasing another rug from here because I do not feel like they did the right thing by us. Especially since we have bought quite a few rugs from them in the past. I can only guess that this business survives because of over-pricing their cheap materials and dealing mostly with designers whom they fawn all over, but ignore the regular customers. After only a short time of having our carpet installed, the wear began to show very heavily on it, even though there's not actually a lot of foot traffic that we put on the carpet. In fact, a carpet cleaner came and was remarking how he sees a lot of carpet & my carpet looks as if it had been there for 15 years already!! They cut the carpet so that the seam was in an odd place, and when I had remnants they said to bring them back and they would create runners for the higher traffic hallway area, which I did but they never returned them to me and subsequent phone calls fell on deaf ears. I had also requested that the transition from carpet to wood floor be silver in color, and they installed gold, then made a big deal about having to come back and install the color I had actually asked for. The main sales man/manager always acted annoyed that I was calling him about anything... and this is not a "discount" store in their prices!! In short, don't buy your carpet here, you will get better service & quality somewhere else. read more

Not only was the new carpet installed poorly, with nails and staples hurting us routinely, he quickly abandoned the property into foreclosure and left us without water during the whole process(6 months of no water!!)Refused to fix the plumbing, continued to tell his other tenants to trespass and park on the property and refused to ever refund the deposit. The service we get at Country Carpet each time we go there is amazing. The staff is so knowledgable and patient. Our salesperson Laura and the manager Bruce worked within our price range and even found us a beautiful remnant for our son's room at a really reasonable price . When our bedroom carpet was not wearing well, Bruce the manager was so nice and wonderful at helping us out. The service and the follow through is really impressive at this store and that is why I am writing this review. So often stores forget about you after your purchase and that not the case with Country Carpet. From our first visit to the store, to the installers, every one was professional and on time.
