I was in town for a couple of days for the Gambler 500 and when I am away I like to find a good breakfast place. Sets the tone for a good day. I had another place in mind but was met with a boarded up building and Country Nook was across the street, so I checked it out. I was greeted within seconds of walking in and seated promptly with a menu. The booth was clean and the table free from stickiness. Bonus points! Being a certified lover of biscuits and gravy I decided to try the breakfast with that, eggs and hash browns. The food came within five minutes and it was really nice looking. the gravy had a slightly off white thing going on, but the flavor was excellent. Gravy does not have to be stark white to be good. The biscuit was just average, something just a little more special or maybe fresh would have put it over the top. It was not bad at all, just the gravy cries for something above average to be under it. Eggs were cooked the way I asked and the hash browns were very good. The service was really friendly, they checked on me often, but not an annoying amount of times. Prices were very reasonable and the rest room was clean. Could not ask for anything more. This place needs help! First we had to wait while two waitstaff chatted, 2 others just kinda ignored us. Finally one of them sat us and took our drink order. We had a second Waitress, that was friendly she explained they are under new ownership and gave us a few suggestions. She sent the first waitress back to take our order. Our food came to the table and my California omelette was short on 2 of the 6 ingredients. Upon delivery The second waitress told me they were out of those ingredients. This would have been nice to know BEFORE I ordered. I would have ordered something different. Over all the service was bad, food was luke warm, and really meh. I don't think I will be back. The last thing I want to say is servers should not be seen taking bites of food on shift. Also gloves in the kitchen is a good policy. I miss the days of customer service. read more

My family and I have been here a few times, mainly for breakfast. Past visits have been nice, good service, not a long wait for food, good food with nice portions for the price and overall nice experiences. That was NOT the case yesterday. We arrived at 10:17 am (I know because I looked at the time when I parked), there was a gentleman waiting at the host podium and so we got in line to check in, no host in sight. As we were waiting, I was able to observe the staff. There were a handful of tables open, a bit slow for the time and what I have seen before, but good for us, no wait! Ha!! There were a few servers working behind the counter, none of them with any urgency in their work. 2 different servers looked at us but did not acknowledge us. A couple of minutes go by. The gentleman turned around and smiled at me, to which I asked him if he had been helped yet, he relied 'nope". A couple more minutes go by, and every time I think the staff was going to come over and greet us and help, they just kept walking, or more importantly, seemed to really be trying to look busy without having to serve any of us. At one point, one of the servers who was putting together a to go order walked over to the pasty case (that is literally right next to the host stand and where we were standing) grabbed a cinnamon bun from the case and walked away without acknowledging any of us in any way! No smile, no "have you been helped", no "someone will be right with you" NOTHING!! As soon as it was clear we were not going to be helped anytime soon, the gentleman turned around and said "good luck" and walked out. I (foolishly) decided to give it a couple of more minutes. So, we waited. The servers were continuing their busy work attitude, at one point 3 of them were standing behind the counter chatting. The line cook was talking with one of them and looked out and saw us. YES, he saw us, certainly he will say something and we are going to be helped!! WRONG. One of the servers started to walk through the dinning room toward us, we even made eye contact. She turned and walked over to two different tables and picked up the checks that were sitting on them. "Okay, I understand not wanting to leave cash sitting out". She then proceed to stand with her back to us and fiddle with the cash, her check book and awkwardly try to appear like she was busy. That was when I had enough. When we arrived, I looked at the time, it was 10:17, when we got in the car I looked again to see how long we stood there with NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. It was 10:28. We stood at the host stand waiting to be helped for 11 minutes, In that time, no a single employee spoke to us or acknowledged we were even there. I guess they did not need our business. Well, not a problem, I won't be going back any time soon. read more

I have a soft spot for a good county breakfast and I wasn't disappointed. What a helping!. Hash browns were perfect. Denver omelette and two buttered slices of toast. Tasted great too. Not busy, great service, and clean tables. Bit pricey for breakfast but the helpings were large. read more

We went to eat there tonight and Dawn the waitress was Rude. We had my Friends service Dog with us She had on her vest stating she was one. As soon as we walked in Dawn said " Pretty sure that's not a service dog" She lied and told the owner she tried to jump on her that didn't happen. Daisy went right to the table and got under it. My husband and I tried breakfast here. We had visited once before about 18 months ago and ended up walking out for a number of reasons. We had a coupon that enticed us to return plus we heard they were under new management. WIN-WIN! We were greeted by Cassie immediately when we walked in. She seated us and brought our drink of choice (awesome fresh brewed iced tea) right away. We saw many mouth watering items on the menu and chose what we would have. My husband enjoys a fresh made sausage patty and asked if that was the case with the sausage on the menu. When the answer was yes, he ordered it along with bacon, eggs and toast. I ordered corn beef hash (don't judge) along with fresh fruit and an English muffin. Our meal came fairly quickly and was perfect! The fruit was a nice blend of fresh strawberries, pineapple, grapes and sweet melon. My husband's eggs and bacon were prepared to perfection along with the fresh sausage patty. We asked Cassie about the fish and chips which is fresh battered on the premises and you can have halibut or cod any day of the week and not just on Friday. We'll be back to try those along with other menu items that sounded completely delicious. Cassie did a wonderful job serving and answering our questions. She kept our beverages full (a must for us) and was so kind and attentive in spite of getting increasingly busy while we were there. Our first visit to the Country Nook was wonderful. My husband had steak salad and I had chicken salad. Both salads were very good. The server was professional and friendly. We were excited to find a restaurant that we really liked. Two nights later we went back. The service was extremely slow. Only one booth in the restaurant was occupied . We waited for several minutes to be seated. Then we waited a while for menus and water. We ordered 2 glasses of Chardonnay. It took several minutes for the server to come back and tell us that there was only one glass of chardonnay left. We waited several minutes for the wine to arrive. We waited several more minutes for the server to come back and take our order. Our steaks arrived a while later. The food on the plates was crowded together and the roll (which had been nuked too long) piled on top of the dinner. There was no butter on the baked potato or butter for the roll. After asking we were brought a small container of butter for both rolls and the potato. The entrée came with a mixture of vegetables, one of which we could not identify and could not cut with a knife or bite through. When we were halfway through our meal the salads and steak knives arrived. The only good part of the meal was that the steaks were good. So disappointing. read more

When you enter this establishment, you're greeted with a sign for the outhouses. It's a funny sort of introduction to the western themed country diner. Metal signs don one wall taking you back a few decades to the old food guide pyramid and Gene Autry on the radio. It sets up an old school dining experience for sure. But the food here is good. We made it here on International Bacon Day and the menu provided many options to satisfy our bacon-loving tendencies. We split the bacon waffle and California omelette; both offered the deliciousness a girl needs to celebrate a day for meaty pig fat. The omelette lacked the amount or quality of avocado to deserve the "California" title, but satisfied the taste buds all the same. The coffee was standard diner quality and the service was great - we never had to ask for a warm-up. Me and my boyfriend go out to breakfast every Sunday so we always like to try new places when we got out. We decided to try country nook and was kind of disappointed. The server was kind of rude to us the whole time we almost had a sense of being forgotten and our food was good but the one part that really bugged me the most was the fact we heard both serves standing behind the counter behind us complaining about how thy didn't get a big enough tip from a couple they got a 2$ tip and started going off about how they yelled/ would have yelled at them for not giving them a big enough tip. Tips are earned. And they are also not a requirement. Needless to say we won't be going back for awhile. read more

One of my favorite places to eat in Redmond! Pros: Good food selection. I really like the pancakes and my eggs are always cooked correctly. The one time my eggs were to runny, the cook sent three extra strips of bacon for the trouble. Good seating. I can always find a place to sit, even when the parking lot is packed. Good service. The waiters swing by frequently to ensure your drinks are filled and to see how everything is going. Also, the coffee is the best I've ever had in a diner. Cons: There aren't any. You just can't go wrong with Country Nook. It has the charm of an old diner, and it is a locals hangout, especially on Sundays. This is definitely one of Redmond's best hidden gems.
