My friend was up from MA for the night & the next morning we wanted to go out to breakfast. The place that we were going to go to was closing & this was the only other breakfast place I could think of since it was almost 1pm. It has been years since I've been in here or eaten in here. This use to be one of the "spots" to go late night back in my 20's for some grub. Boy how it has changed over the years. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, one family with a nosy kid (lol) & two other tables with customers @ them. We waited a few minutes before Connie came over to us to give us menus and take our drink order. I got a soda water & man it tasted sooooooo good! They serve Pepsi products which my friend nor I are fans of (I don't drink soda anymore) so my friend just went with a water. I started us off with the cheese curds & I've never seen cheese curds like these before. Small, fried squared pieces of cheese which looked like French toast bits....lol They were OK & came with a nice, sweet & not so spicy dipping sauce. I went with an omelet with Swiss cheese, mushrooms & red onions. It looked pretty sad & small. The onions were long pieces which I would have preferred them to be diced up. They don't mix all the ingredients in the eggs & just fold the egg over the ingredients inside. I prefer the ingredients mixed into the egg mixture. The hash browns were good but another small portion. Their prices are way over priced for the food quality that they serve. This isn't a fancy restaurant, I know it's a truck stop but I feel like it was a better quality many years ago. I thought the raspberry donut cheesecake looked good from the picture of it on their menu & Connie told me it was good, so good that sometimes "she has it for breakfast." LOL I wasn't impressed & it tasted kinda dried out, maybe it was old/older? I don't think that this is a place I would ever venture back to eat at unfortunately. Ok, let me start by saying this rating is not based on my regular rating system. At the end of the day, Country Pride is a truck stop chain restaurant and holding it to the same standards as Mimosa, Silvas, or Satori would be like comparing my 8 year old daughter to LeBron when she picks up a ball. Instead, CP will be reviewed among the other chains who's primary audience is made up of captive truckers. That said, this is the best Country Pride I have been to in the entire country. The salad bar was clean, stocked, fresh, and all the salad and soup bowls were clean and neatly stacked. The lettuce was not wilted, discolored, or wet. The cherry tomatoes were not wrinkled, soft, or soaking in a puddle of juice. The soups were hot and fresh and there was no sloppy mess of spilled soup from people who must think a ladle is a freehanded catapult. The staff (Colleen) was friendly and although she forgot my Tobasco, it wasn't needed because I didn't need to fake flavor. I had a great breakfast and dinner here. The service is great also. I gave them a happy tip for the holidays. The waitress told me she worked 12 hours/day. I said, more more bread for Christmas lots of snow and but I love the blue NE America. Bunch of leftist Democrats, but appreciate their notion of "win win for all." read more

I already knew what I wanted and ordered and ice water with lemon and the Grilled Cajun Whitefish Dinner ($10.99) which included choice of side (I got mashed potatoes with gravy), garlic toast, and the endless soup & salad bar. The salad bar was fresh and had 30 items including iceberg mix, Caesar salad (romaine), 6 dressings, fresh toppings (vine ripe tomatoes, black olives, broccoli, shredded cheese, beets, carrots,...), chick peas, pickled cucumbers, garnishes, macaroni salad, Asian noodle salad, cole slaw, jello, fruits (peaches, pears, Mandarin oranges), cherry fruit mix and bread. The 2 hot soups were creamy vegetable and 3 bean soup. The Grilled Cajun Whitefish Dinner was very good, which had a good/right amount of food. The 2 grilled fish filets were soft and spiced up just right. The mashed potatoes were soft and dense with a standard beef gravy. The thick buttered garlic toast was good with the meal. For dessert, I went with the Brownie Sundae ($2.99), which was made very nicely by my waitress, who zapped the soft fudge brownie in the microwave nice & warm, scooped with vanilla ice cream, topped with whipped cream & cherry, and drizzled the chocolate sauce in artful form. This dessert (in a bowl) was just the right size and a nice ending to a filling dinner. The check total for dinner was $15.24 with tax and before tip. Overall, the food here was solid good homestyle fare, which was very tasty and filling, though not gourmet style food. The service here was good and friendly. I was happy with my meal. I'd continue to stop at the Country Pride or Iron Skillet restaurants around the USA for a satisfying meal at a reasonable price. We used to stop here on our way to maine and it was always good but the last time it was horrible, we was there for honestly an hour and a half. Thankfully we wasn't in a hurry. This place does not even deserve a one-star. Worst customer service ever. I walk in here to get a meal . I ordeeed my food. They told me that my meal comes with soup and salad then I can help myself to it. As I walk towards salad and Soup Bar all the dishes were empty. soup was all dried out when I asked service server to refill she gave me attitude and I told her that there was no broth in the soup. She totally ignored all the customers are asking to fill up the dishes. Why are you even here at the work if you don't want to work and why you even have a restaurant if you don't want to provide a good service. Food was a joke. Funny thing is at the end of the service they want to know if you leaving them tip. I did the same thing what she did to me ignored her. It kind of pissed her off.
