    Crispy chicken sandwich

Its been several years since eating here and it is still a great place to eat. From breakfast to lunch if your hungry stop here. Plenty of seating for small to large groups. The food is served hot and fresh tasting. The servers are attentive and always topping off drinks whether its coffee or water. If your near the area stop by.

Country Waffles is a small NorCal chain restaurant with a country kitchen vibe. The Hayward location is operated by an independent young woman who goes above and beyond in making the place welcoming. Nice flourishes of seasonal decor, such as adorning walls with vibrantly colored leaves in autumn, Christmas-oriented decoration during the holiday season, and so on. The menu offers an ample selection of comfort food kinds of dishes for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. Often, there are seasonal variations such as pumpkin pancakes, cinnamon spiced French toast, patriotic red, white, and blue waffles, etc. Service is sometimes a tad on the slow side here but it typically holds up ok. Not rude or inattentive just that I occasionally will find myself with an empty drink that doesn't get noticed for 5 minutes or so. You generally wouldn't come here if you were in a hurry, so it's acceptable. The food and value of Country Waffles Hayward really shines though! I went with a garden omelette, added avocado, side of fruit, and a half-waffle combo, along with an iced tea. Food portions are typically on the generous side and everything tasted fantastic. The owner, whenever she's here, will often come around, acknowledging her regular customers and ensuring that all visitors are satisfied. My entire meal, after tax and before tip, came out to ~$25. Pretty great value for the quality and amount of food served!

I used to go here with my family when I was younger and I've recently come back with a group of friends. The restaurant is like medium size with a good amount of space. The decorations give off a western country vibe which I find very fitting for American brunch and breakfast. I really like there waffles they are on the softer side and are quite fluffy! The fried chicken is also crispy, flavorful, and moist. The service is quite quick, I got a table within 5 minutes. The servers were also very friendly and patient!

This is the breakfast restaurant where it is both good and not-so-good depending on what you order. Chicken and waffle is good... and safe, because we had dark meat for the chicken. Omelet had a generous serving.

There is something comforting about chain breakfast restaurants. Country Waffles is an example of this. It's been years since we've dined here & nothing has changed, except the prices. Service is attentive, courteous, & fast. Dining room is well lit, spacious, & feels like home. This time we ordered from the Senior Menu. Portions are smaller & prices, cheaper. My Cheese & Mushroom Omelette with biscuit & fruit was just right. Coffee is free. I added gravy to the buscuit to complete the meal. It was a great dining experience!

I've driven past this place a thousand times and finally gave it a shot. The restaurant is located in a strip mall which is a bit unusual and the parking lot directly in front of the restaurant is a little hard to navigate. On the inside, the restaurant itself is nicely decorated and bigger than I thought it would be. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. My breakfast order came with half a waffle. I saved it to the end and it was delicious. I almost wish I ate it first because it cooled down by the time I ate it and I assume it's even better warm. It's also worth mentioning that the service was super fast and they had a large team working the front of the house to keep things moving efficiently on a busy morning. I'll definitely be back.

Stopped by after a nice hike in Hayward and was craving waffles. The service was great and the restaurant was clean. The restroom is really spacious as well and very clean. We ordered the Californian omelette - was good, but the potatoes were kind of bland Western Burger- Was great Side of waffles - The best thing we ordered French Toast- Very disappointing and was ok Southwest Scrambled- Very dissatisfied and maybe the worst dish ordered. Was very spicy, with less eggs and so much jalapeño. Please see picture attached Overall not a place I'd go out my way to eat at.

I came here for brunch on Sunday. There is lots of parking and it is in a strip next to Yogurtland, Target, and Panda Express. We came Sunday and were seated quickly despite brunch rush. I ordered the Denver omelette. You can choose between potatoes or hash browns. I chose hash browns. You can also choose toast or 1/2 waffle. I got half waffle. My boyfriend got chicken and waffles. He didn't get to choose any side/toast etc. He got eggs on the side. The portions were average. I was full and ate all my food. My boyfriend ate all his and said he was full also. All the booths were busy yet the servers were attentive. The food is basic American brunch and the inside was giving diner vibes. It was nice and will be back.

Honestly this place gets packed because it's really delish and they give you lots of food. I loved it and so did my wife. If you got time to wait for awhile for a table then I recommend. It's like dennys 3000 lol. Casual place like a mom and pop.

First time here and we were seated quickly. waitress was pleasant but took awhile to take our order. Seems like a busy breakfast spot! ordered the california omelete with country potatoes and a waffle & coffee and water. Waffle was average. omelette was good. Took a while with coffee refills.

    Good amount of seating.

Hidden location off of Whipple / Industrial. Located in the Target shopping center. Lived in area for years but our first time. Not busy on a Sunday Brunch time 11am. Staff very friendly, seems to have regular customers coming in so shows that they been here for while. Ordered iced caramel macchiato Chicken waffles Chicken fried steak with hash browns &pancakes. Hours 10-2pm Would visit again if craving American breakfast.

A little bit of everything and keto friendly!

Let's start with the positive. The service was friendly and attentive. The coffee was fresh & hot. However the main dishes were just average. They lacked seasoning. The hollandaise sauce was bland, not lemony and it was room temp and thick. My English muffins were only slightly toasted. The fried chicken was hot but lacked seasoning also. Hash browns were average. I recognize this is a chain so expectations were not high but the food should be served warm to hot.

Luckily there was no line at 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday. Rating Breakdown: 1/2 Stars for Taste -- The menu is HUGE and it was difficult to pick just one thing to order. I ended up choosing the Tio Pancho because I can never resist biscuits and gravy. The scramble itself was good, I'm a big fan of their chorizo as it's not overpoweringly sour/tangy like some other places. It was also mild enough that my kids were able to try a little. I opted for the hash browns which added a nice crispiness into the mix. I would actually skip the biscuits and gravy next time -- the biscuits are on the cake-y side and the gravy is a bit bland. My husband ordered the Mexican chicken fried steak. The steak itself was also bland, but it was fine paired with the chorizo and sauce on top. Their hashbrowns are crispy on the outside but made thick with a more mushy inside, not our favorite. My husband's sunny side eggs were also a bit underdone, the egg whites were still runny. We were both fans of the salsa that came on the side. For the kiddos, we got one pancake. We're glad we only got one because it was literally the same size as the dinner plate it came on. It was super fluffy and thiccccc, just how I love it. It was also not too sweet by itself so I felt less bad about giving it to the kiddos. I would say the dishes are served "rustic", it's not the most instagrammable if that matters to you, but it is a mountain of food and a veritable feast. 1/1 Stars for Value -- It's about $20 per entree and the serving sizes are humongous. Definitely enough to share or take home as leftovers. Coffee was $4 but it was actually good coffee, not the watery stuff diners sometimes serve. It only cost $3.95 to upgrade the side of toast to a pancake, which is a steal...I mean, why wouldn't you do it? 1/1 Stars for Customer Service -- The food came out unbelievably quickly. We literally said "That can't be it" when we saw them bringing it over. This place is optimized for efficiency -- everything from seating, serving, coffee refills, to bringing the bill was streamlined yet not rushed. Bonus star because we would come back when we are craving brunch. We would come early to avoid the lines.

We were put on the wait list which was almost a 30-minute wait. It was pretty busy that day, Sunday around brunch. We were seated in a table where one side is a booth and the other side is a chair, but you can tell that they just wanted to cram as many tables as they could in the restaurant. The spacing in between the tables to our sides was so small, we had to physically move our table just to get in and out of the booth. And we did the same thing when other tables were getting out of the booth. It was also really loud in there. We didn't really like it since we were there to have a nice, chill brunch. We could barely hear each other talking. The service was really slow and it was hard to flag down our server. The food was good and reasonably priced, but the space and ambiance wasn't what we hoped it would be. Another downside is the parking lot. There are so many shops in one small plaza, they didn't plan enough parking spaces for customers. We noticed people having to park in the plaza next door, which I wasn't sure if we were allowed to do. So we just had to drive around the plaza and find whatever spot we could. After being there twice, I don't think I would eat at the restaurant again. I would maybe order to go, but since we don't live in the area it's not likely we would drive all the way there to pick up food.
