    Quarry Lake in a wrap
    Angeli S.

How did I not know this place existed until now?? The sandwiches are hecka good! I actually found them on DoorDash and even through delivery the sandwiches were good! We ordered the whipple - big sized sandwich, good classic Chef's salad with thousand dressing - so much meat and refreshing Quarry lake in a wrap - the grilled chicken was seasoned well and not dry. Love the theme of the sandwiches. All named after places around the area

Ordered 2 sandwiches to try, 15) The Dub City $13.99 Hot Salami, Bomb sauce & Pepper Jack 2) The Whipple $14.49 Hot Turkey, Bacon, Cheddar & Avocado The salami was too salty despite having the veggies to lighten it up...only drove 7 minutes after picking it up but bottom of Dutch Crunch was soggy already...will not order this sandwich again The turkey bacon sandwich had good flavor but again the bread turned out soggy. Maybe option is to have veggies on the sides? Not sure but willing to give this spot another try. Fast friendly service...wish they have online ordering instead of having to call...

    #22 The Rockin Reuben combo

My son and I came here for lunch after we went to a comic book store. He wanted a sandwich and I saw this place while driving. I ordered the #22 The Rockin Reuben and combo chips and drink. My son got a Turkey, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo on sourdough bread roll with a combo as well. Food was really good! Very friendly staff, place is nice and clean. Very chill environment.

Let me tell you, I've had more dates with "The Sandwich Spot" than I have with actual humans and each time it's pure bliss We're talking at least five visits, and the staff, they're not just good, they're BOMB.COM! We're talking customer service so excellent, it could win an Olympic gold medal. They're basically sandwich sorcerers with a side of charm Here are my top picks from their legendary lineup: #8 The Hot One: Because sometimes, you just need a sandwich that brings the heat. #18 The Shark Tank: Dive in, the water's fine (and delicious). #24 The Union City PD: It's so good, it should be illegal. #25 The The Reginator: I'll be back... for more of this sandwich. DON'T SLEEP ON THIS SANDWICH SPOT! It's not just good, it's "official like a referee with a whistle" good LOVE ALL, FEED ALL

Was our first time at this spot in Union City. Newly opened and the place looks nice! The owner was welcoming and friendly. Some of the sandwiches on the menu were named after places in Union City which was super cool. My wife and I ordered the Nile's Canyon and the Quarry Lakes. The owner was nice enough to give us chips on the house since it was our first time at this location. Our sandwiches were delicious. If you're looking for a new sandwich spot to try, we recommend this place.

Let me start this review by saying I have already been to the sandwich spot in Redwood City, so automatically I knew the sandwhiches were going to not dissapoint. The menu has a large variety of sandwiches, I love the fact that they are all named after different things in the area. Pretty cool! I got the #2 the Whipple. It was absolutely delicious! We were greated with friendly smiles and conversation which made the experience that much better. Very up to date inside and. Impeccably clean. Will be def coming here frequently!

A few weeks ago, a man came by our workplace and handed "Patti and me" a flyer for a new sandwich place two parking lots down from the workplace. Told him that "Patti and me" would give the place a try. "Patti and me" went by on a Saturday afternoon, half an hour before closing. "Patti and me" asked for the same sandwich (the Ruben) both with a different bread. Just to be a pain. We got stuck in traffic and showed up 5 minutes before closing. The sandwiches were ready. The staff was friendly and helpful. "Patti and me" didn't see the sandwiches until we got home. We opened the paper wrapper and got our first look. The pictures show the wrapped sandwich's. One sandwich unwrapped. And the other next to my hand. (For size reference) Hope nobody's bored. Hang with us. First of all, the sandwiches smell great and the taste was superb. Just the right amount of condiments including a very nutty Swiss cheese, great thousand island dressing, delicious sauerkraut and a tender and lean pastrami. As much as we loved the sandwiches, as you can see, it isn't very big. For a family of four, the price comes to $56 before taxes. Even two mature Americans such as "Patti and me" it's $30 before taxes. Don't get us wrong about these sandwiches. They are delicious and the establishment is clean and well put together with a family ambiance. It's all there. And we won't say don't try them out. Please do so. However, above all, you have to be truthful. The size of the sandwich and the price, just don't match up. They just seem a little small. That's it. We will leave it to you. Give The Sandwich Shop a try. Delicious food, with fresh ingredients, friendly people in a pleasant atmosphere. Maybe a 6 foot 3 inch tall mature American has big hands. So see for yourself and enjoy.

What won me over was the dairy free drink offerings, which were everything I dreamed of and more. We got the coconut thai tea, perfection, a watermelon smoothie with lychee jelly, it tasted like the most perfect in season watermelon frozen and blended with jelly at the top and bottom of the drink, and the iced coffee with coconut condensed milk, also good but a little stronger/darker than I would prefer but doctored up with just an extra splash of oat milk at home it was rich and energizing. The sandwiches were also excellent and I was so grateful for the employees' flexibility in making a custom sandwich for my picky kids. I love being able to add avocado and love that vegan mayo is an option. The sandwiches were perfect, the tofu is fried and mixed with fried starchy bits that were SO good, the veggies are plentiful and have a great freshly prepared taste, and the balance between ingredients and flavors is just right. They also had some specials available that looked great. The shop is tiny but full of warmth. Everyone was so welcoming, eagerly gave recommendations, and made ordering sandwiches a pleasant and refreshing experience. And there's a nice park and plaza area across the street where you can enjoy your food so the lack of indoor seating (there is a little bench which I'm sure you could use if needed) isn't a problem at all

This is my local go-to spot for Vietnamese sandwiches and drinks for take out…read more I've visited for over a decade and appreciate how their food is no nonsense and solid. They are consistently very good at what they do! Sure, this isn't cutting-edge, fusion type of Vietnamese sandwiches and drinks but through all these years their tradition of delicious foods are stellar. In addition to their various selection of sandwiches and fresh-made drinks/desserts, they also have hot foods at their hofbrau section for various sides of carbs (rice/noodles), proteins, and veggies. Tips: - no credit cards establishment so bring cash for easiest transacting. - try to visit during non-lunch windows as the store gets quite busy. - their rice rolls with pork or shrimp, in addition to their vietnamese rolls are sneaky addictive. I also tried nem chua for the first time, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I thought it was really yummy. Next time, I definitely want to try their shrimp rice rolls. She also has a nice selection of candy for the kiddos, but we want to delay giving our baby sweets until much later haha. We ordered the beef bulgogi sandwich and it came out pretty quickly. The bulgogi was flavorful and the sauce that came with it was really tasty too. The veggies gave it a nice crunch. I enjoyed the cucumber, but the carrots didn't seem as fresh. Location is near the Mirchi cafe on Fremont Blvd in the plaza right next to Wonderland smoke shop. There is plenty of parking. Staff was super nice and helped me open the stuck door that you have to pull really hard on to get in. The market is small but curated and I was drawn to the imported potato chips. I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. I did enjoy the blueberry jam and pepperoncini combo.

I opted for their ham and cheese isaac toast and an egg salad sandwich. I appreciate the food being made fresh and the workers were efficient, but the isaac toast had one slice of ham and A LOT of cabbage, both fried in a puck and non-fried. The egg salad sandwich looked good, but didn't have much flavor to rave about. The rwc baller which is a meatball sandwich and the farmers market with turkey. For $50 dollars the quality was just not there. I don't mind spending money on food but when it's not good for the price I just have to speak up. My fries got cold waiting for my sandwich even tho the timer they handed me was ringing. But I was fine with that. When I got my sandwich the marinara was hot and the cheese too but the meatball it self was still cold to touch. That's when I asked for a refund. I only took one bite so I didn't think it was a big deal. But the lady making the sandwiches started smirking as if she got offended that I was asking for a refund. The cashier was also upset that I was telling them exactly how I felt with my sandwich and overall experience. Then the owner comes and takes a picture of me for what ever reason and tells me to just forget about it and he will give me my refund. I got my refund but he kept trying to have the last word in. Saying I'm those type of people. Not sure what "people" he is talking about. But like I told him, I don't mind spending money on food but if the quality is not there then it's not my fault. Because honestly for 50 bucks I could have gone to the woodside delicatessen or togos and got a way better sandwich. It just seemed like they were trying to make it like I was the problem. When all I asked was for a better sandwich. The farmers market looked like a plain old simple sandwich. Nothing to make it worth the money it cost. All I can say is that if you're looking for a sandwich this place might not fill your satisfaction. I guess I was expecting more for what I paid for. The owner was rude but I'm not going to get into that because it's irrelevant. I'm just here to talk about the quality of the food. It's not worth your hard earned money. It's downtown redwood city so you would expect a decent meal. There are so many restaurants around here, that I regret I spent my time and money here. They refunded me the money for one combo which was nice of them but they didn't want to refund the other combo even tho only one bite was taken from the sandwich. We left all the food on the table including the sodas. I know the owner will respond and say otherwise but it's ok I'll be glad to respond back. I just cant pay 50 bucks for two Simple sandwiches that show they were made with no love. You have to be drunk or high to enjoy this food. Or maybe it's just the food i ordered. Not sure but I just know that this place is just a simple sandwich spot. Nothing fancy or great about it. They have a hookah time outside which is nice but that doesn't mask the quality of the food for me. If you know about food like I do you'll feel the same way I do. I won't be coming back but maybe it's different for everyone. This is just my opinion about the quality. If the owner doesn't agree he can respond back and I'll be glad to put more insight on this visit. I would have given this place two stars but the owner made things worse. So overall it's a nice looking place but don't expect a bomb sandwich or a fair price. It's just an over priced sandwich spot in downtown Redwood City. I came here once a few years back and it was decent which is why I came back this time. But I guess times have changed according to the owner so I guess the quality and service changed as well. And you responded saying you have video of my visit. Please upload it so everyone can see I was never out of pocket. I never raised my voice or used any curse words. I was just saying what I felt and your staff took offense to it. You took a picture of me even tho I never took out my phone. Not sure what was the purpose of that. Like I said, I'm just being honest about my experience and you did not make it better. You kept telling me to not speak about it no more, but you were the only one to try to have the last word in and also speaking to your other customers about it even though I was already getting ready to leave. So please don't make it seem like I was being an issue or a problem. I simply didn't have a good experience with the quality of the food. Like I said sir, please upload the video. Stop calling me "miserable". I have done nothing but gave my two cents. You're taking this too far. You're just upset that I pointed out the obvious.
