Got the manwich. It was tasty and the Dutch crunch was hollowed out so the ratio of bread to stuff was good. My largest complaint is that the meat is all centered in the middle so it looks like you get a ton of meat but about 1/3 of the sandwich is empty. It's a decent option if you're craving a sandwich but the meat discrepancy makes the sandwich feel cheap. read more

Newish sandwich spot for the area so of course I had to try. They're set up like a chain, clean, organized with a system that seems to know what it is doing. But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props. read more

Went in because I was craving a certain sandwich, and did not have time to shop for all the ingredients then make it at home with everything else I had to do for the day. I didnt know if I would find a primo sandwich location open on a Sunday since they do more of their business Monday to Friday , but I was pleased to find The Sandwich Spot open. I am always down for a good sandwich and this place did not disappoint. I got several sandwiches. The Alvarado- Roast beef drenched in delicious bbq sauce with Monterey jack cheese. The bbq sauce was sweet and finger licking good. The roast beef paired with the jack cheese was literally the perfect combo. I still think about it to this day. The SF Giant- Loaded with turkey, bacon, avocado and their signature bomb sauce. I don't know what they put in their bomb sauce but it was utterly delicious. Each bite was filled with mouthfuls of meat and the Dutch crunch bread was the perfect vessel to bring everything together into a single bite. This wasn't just a sandwich, it was an experience. This is a newer sandwich spot in our area and it is really good! My husband and I are sandwich lovers and we're super excited to see a new spot in the area especially because they are scarce in our area unless it's a big chain like subway (yuck). A few weeks ago, a man came by our workplace and handed "Patti and me" a flyer for a new sandwich place two parking lots down from the workplace. Told him that "Patti and me" would give the place a try. "Patti and me" went by on a Saturday afternoon, half an hour before closing. "Patti and me" asked for the same sandwich (the Ruben) both with a different bread. Just to be a pain. We got stuck in traffic and showed up 5 minutes before closing. The sandwiches were ready. The staff was friendly and helpful. "Patti and me" didn't see the sandwiches until we got home. We opened the paper wrapper and got our first look. The pictures show the wrapped sandwich's. One sandwich unwrapped. And the other next to my hand. (For size reference) Hope nobody's bored. Hang with us. First of all, the sandwiches smell great and the taste was superb. Just the right amount of condiments including a very nutty Swiss cheese, great thousand island dressing, delicious sauerkraut and a tender and lean pastrami. As much as we loved the sandwiches, as you can see, it isn't very big. For a family of four, the price comes to $56 before taxes. Even two mature Americans such as "Patti and me" it's $30 before taxes. Don't get us wrong about these sandwiches. They are delicious and the establishment is clean and well put together with a family ambiance. It's all there. And we won't say don't try them out. Please do so. However, above all, you have to be truthful. The size of the sandwich and the price, just don't match up. They just seem a little small. That's it. We will leave it to you. Give The Sandwich Shop a try. Delicious food, with fresh ingredients, friendly people in a pleasant atmosphere. Maybe a 6 foot 3 inch tall mature American has big hands.
