Can't even remember the last time I went to Denny's. Got off work late and Denny's was one of the only places open after 1:30AM. Had to charge the Tesla as well so we figured why not, since it's in the same parking lot. Wasn't expecting much because in my mind, Denny's was always kind of 'meh' from past experiences. But we ended up having a really great late night dinner/ breakfast! The interior is really bright and newly renovated. We ordered: Berry Stuffed French Toast Slam® w/ eggs, bacon, & sausage links Chicken Country Fried Steak & Eggs I expected a sad, mediocre plate (sorry!) but got tasty and nicely plated meals. Hashbrowns were crisp. Eggs were perfectly fried. The country fried steak was good but seemed processed since it was super soft and easy to cut into but it was still good. Even the ice water was good lol. The stuffed French toast was more like 2 French toast sandwiches, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It was a little too sweet but the strawberries on top helped cut the sweetness. There were maybe 8 other tables as it was a Saturday night, but the servers were super friendly despite it being almost 2AM. Paid using the QR code on the receipt and we were on our way. read more

The restaurant was filthy and service was even worse 0/10. It took hella long for anyone to even come take our order and then on top of that another 15 minutes for our drinks to come. Maybe another 15ish minutes for our food to come and it was cold. I asked for hot syrup and while waiting my boyfriend finished his meal so o had to call the server over for a box and the bill. This entire time nobody has refilled our drinks and I had to get up and go ask for napkins. Server was noticeably irritated when I asked for a Togo box and the bill. I have to say, this is one of the nicest remodeled Denny's I have been to in awhile. Sometimes, I have those guilty pleasures of just having breakfast as my meal. Denny's is just that...comfort food I look forward to when I don't want anything complicated. You know what to expect. It used to be pretty cheap meal deals but inflation. What can you do? We live in the Bay Area. We haven't come to this location in years and it's across from Chabot college. After our hike, we wanted breakfast. We saw how nice it looked from outside and even had some louging area and games for kids or adult kids outside. They had fake grass to help the cost of water and environment. . Plenty of parking but still busy for a weekend. They even had a parking security but not sure you can call it that... Inside was very nicely decorated with Hayward, teams on their wall. Our party of 6 was seated pretty fast as they had plenty of tables. Good for big groups and open 24/7 for those midnight cravings. Service was ok but we know our server did the best she could with the crowd and demand. My strawberry banana pancakes were done the way I liked it as well as my hash browns and bacon. So a couple days ago I went to denny's down the street ordered some side dishes it was the worst food I've ever brought home the biscuits and gravy wasn't really a biscuits they look like little soft crackers with a chopped up sausage and some pepper gravy that you get out of a packet at the grocery store French toast with burnt the fruit didn't taste fresh and the pancakes and no butter now I understand why Denny's is closing down by the thousands the prices went up and the food went way down. read more

My family and I were happy to have found a place that would accommodate our party. We were seated fairly quickly and our waitress was nice. She gathered all of our orders in a timely fashion and we received our food fairly quickly. Our waitress checked on us often and her service was wonderful. The food was served hot, and tasty for the most part. I would ask management or those working in the kitchen to be mindful of the food being served. The yea I asked for came out in a coffee pot that was not washed well and the water that was poured into my tea was brown and smelled like coffee. I wondered why my orange tea tasted like coffee. One of our orders had the sticker of what looks like a package it came out of, stuck at the bottom of the bowl. Both instances, we did not know until we were leaving and about to pay the bill. Not bad! The food here is actually pretty good! I came when this place first opened and was very pleased with the quality of the food, service, and cleanliness. However, my second go around it was a bit unkempt. There was garbage under the table and crumbs on our table from the previous party. So, perhaps that's something that can be worked on. The food was still yummy tho! I had moons over my hammy and strawberry pancake puppies. My daughter had a grand-slam. Denny's is such a staple! This one's pretty cool because of the outside area...it has a seating area, jenga, and a game of cornhole! I frequent this Denny's a lot, and particularly with my grandparents! I have to say I love this location a lot, we often get Miss Ino as our waitress and she's always very kind and attentive, even when it's very busy! The food is always hot and fresh, and I've never received my order wrong for the few years I've been going to this location. As a bonus; I sometimes come here before class (I go to the college across the street) and really enjoy the calm and soothing environment paired with the upbeat music. Overall this is the best location for Denny's in the Bay Area. All of the staff are very sweet with great service, it's nice and clean and the food is great! Will continue to come back. read more

It's been years since I've been to a Denny's. Ah yes, great memories of family vacations stopping at a Denny's along the way to Disneyland. Mmm, soft fluffy pancakes, with a scoop of butter on top and lots of sweet syrup....good times. Decided to visit this NEW location as my mom received coupons for their grand opening. Nice, clean, plenty of seating, games out front and sadly, that's about it. On this first visit, sister and I went on a Monday, 9:30am. Walked in (hostess wasn't the friendliest) with no wait and quickly seated. Dining area nice and bright, picture menu that makes everything look appetizing and hard to decide Ordered my usual, breakfast item: Classic Eggs Benedict (according to friends, that was the first big NO!) as to me, that's a good indicator if things are done right. Poached egg, toasted muffin, slice of ham and hollandaise...I'm not expecting hollandaise made from scratch or an artisan muffin but wasn't expecting a fried egg (yup brown edges and cooked on the griddle) on an untoasted (doughy) muffin! Hashbrowns weren't even cooked properly. Sure, there was some brown on the surface (sans any oil, aka not crispy) with the inside being al dente and lukewarm. Let's say I deconstructed it: ate the egg and ham and the outside of the hashbrown and took the muffins home for my 4-legged kids. Yeah well, I hate wasting food and a big treat for them! Sister ordered the Philly cheesesteak omelet...cubed beef with a rubbery texture. She said it wasn't good and wouldn't get again. I guess next time I visit (with a coupon) I'll stick to the popular items: Grand Slam breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns or the Moon Over My Hammy breakfast sandwich. When a friend asked how my visit went, he gave a smart remark "hello? why would you get an Eggs Benedict, you get the club sandwich or pancakes for breakfast!" Oh right....I didn't know...my bad as I've been out of the Denny's Dining Loop for awhile. smh Service was slow and breakfast ended up being about 2 hours with most of it being wait time. I'm not going to knock our server, Alex as he was working hard of clearing tables and taking orders but not much follow up as it seemed they were short-staffed so extra star for Alex for doing his best. I really like this place , it's been the best dennys i've had and the service has always been good . On this particular night , not only was I disappointed but also felt disrespected. The young man who worked at 1:30am monday morning , needs to be reprimanded and I hope the GM watches the camera footage to see how I was treated ( with audio ) . I came in with a uber eats order , and the guy working ( hispanic dude 20s , heavily tatted , gage earring , horrible edgar haircut ) told me the order didn't exist . He then double downed multiple times and said " your probably got the wrong dennys ". I then asked him if it was 25010 hesperian and he said " i don't know ". I then gave him the order number and he said they didn't have it . He then proceeded to help some other people who seem like friends or employees and then started making extra convo and hanging out to avoid helping me . I then ask him to look it by order number and he says he didn't have it . 20 minutes later he brings out the orders and sure enough the order is there , by now the food cold and the customer very upset . He said " my bad " and walked away . I'm not a crazy yelp person , i don't even write reviews often but this was over the top . I visited Denny's on a Thursday afternoon. There were seven or eight tables full of people, and only one server greeted, seated, served, and cashiered everyone. I did not see another employee while I was there. Despite being so busy, the server, whose name on the receipt was Yaritza G, was cheerful, friendly, quick, and efficient. TOGO REVIEW: I placed the order online and i saw that their everyday value slam includes french toast!! My fave! My whole bill was $30.00 with tip. I ordered Two french toast slam, 1 buttermilk pancakes, and two oreo shakes. I ordered online and it specifically said ready by 6:30pm. I get there and theres like nobody to help me until 5 minutes later and i waited till 6:45pm and finally had my order. A few things: Missing utensils and condiments! How am i going to eat my french toast without syrup?! No straws either! I asked her directly if syrup and all was in there she said of course but wen i get home there was none!!! The food was pretty good , we came for breakfast about late morning. It was not too busy yet one section was empty except for two tables. The service was very good, I didn't get his name but he sure was bouncing around all over the place. Which was good, but he could have used some help for other staffers. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I got my usual three eggs sunny side up along with assorted meats. My wife got her regular order along with pancakes with bananas and strawberries. She did have to request some whip cream. I thought they came with whip cream automatic, I guess not? Everything was pretty good. The pancakes where hot and fluffy, they were the best I have had in a long time. The atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. I do have to mention one thing about the coffee. They gave us a Carafe of coffee! This must be something new, we got several great cups of java out of that thing. I haven't been to this Denny's since the remodel but it's really nice to see such a nice location here in Hayward. Their parking lot is a decent size but I'm sure it fills up entirely on Sunday mornings or Friday evenings. The tables all look very nice and the booths are very comfortable. Seems like they had plenty of seating inside to accommodate a larger crowd but I'll have to come back during a busy day to know for sure. They have a nice turf lawn out front with lawn chairs and lawn games you can really use which is cool. The host was very friendly and alert and found my party a good sized booth which fit us very well. Our drink orders were taken immediately as we sat down, and I always appreciate that. I immediately noticed updates to their menu in a good way. They added a few new items and options while still having all the classics that you know and love. Despite having done this expensive remodel they didn't remove the value menu which truly has good options for people who want to spend less money or even just have a smaller appetite. Our food came quickly but we noticed one plate was given extra bacon and missing pancakes. When we told the server, she didn't even hesitate to fix the problem. She ran to the kitchen and somehow within a minute she had the missing pancakes added to the plate. We even got to keep the extra bacon. I noticed the servers were taking orders in both Spanish and English so it's nice to see they can accommodate both. I also noticed they have two 'claw arcade machines' that were both functional and updated with new toys. So we tested them to see if they were rigged for failure and my 10yo son won a prize on his first attempt. This completed our trip to this Denny's with a smile. I'll definitely be back. read more

This restaurant has greatly improved. When it first opened the service was sketchy at best. Now when I arrive someone actually greets me and I get seated within the first few minutes. The table service is good and the food is solid diner food. Also, I like how they leave the personal pot of coffee at the table (one of my gripes about many diners anymore is trying to get a refill. There are approximately four Denny's restaurants where I live. By far Denny's on Hesperian is second among the farthest where I live; yet I'd drive there to satisfy my hunger. I gave them 5 stars because they rank among the VERY BEST of them all. The place is clean and sanitary looking, the foods I order were always GREAT, and the waiters were very friendly and attentive to my needs.
