I think they use chicks or possibly pigeons instead of full-grown chickens. The breading was dense, the meat was dry, and the seasoning was unappealing. I'm fairly picky with fried chicken, so the size is the most important criticism in this case. My husband, however, had a much more pedestrian breakfast, and many points were missed. One would imagine steak and eggs to be near impossible to ruin. His steak was unseasoned (he likes light seasoning, but they were not told that), and his potatoes were greasy and soggy. His eggs had a small shell in them and a puddle of grease underneath. This man literally never uses sauces of any kind because for one reason or another he likes dry food. He drowned his overcooked steak in A1 and his potatoes in ketchup and Tabasco. We should have known this would happen. When we walked in, the hostess and a waitress did not acknowledge us for maybe a solid 3 or 4 mind and nobody else was waiting. They were engaged in private conversation until my husband asked if we were meant to seat ourselves. Not sarcastically mind you, he assumed we made a mistake. BREAKFAST Florentine Benedict- I love benedicts because of the poached egg. When I cut through my egg, I didn't get that beautiful gooey yolk. It was cooked through and didn't ooze at all. I asked for my hashbrowns to be done extra crispy- they came out the same as everyone else's at the table All American platter- corned beef hash. It had a little bit of everything. Came with 3 eggs of your choice. Ordered over easy and they were too easy. The egg whites were not set and undercooked. Eggs do not seem to be the strong suit for Country Waffles. I went on a Sunday Morning me and my daughter ordered waffles I also got eggs and bacon. It took about 30 minutes for our food to arrive. Waffles were great but eggs and bacon were okay. The service in the beginning was good waitress was friendly and attentive. But as we were almost done another lady came and took our plates my daughter still had her fruit to eat but the waitress took her utensils so my daughter didn't finish eating it and I was looking at my phone for a few minutes she took my plate of food without asking if I was done. I normally love going here because the service is usually always A1 and the food is good, but today being back it wasn't the 4 star restaurant that I was used to. The server was absent for most of the time, did not bring out a part of my order (fruit, which had an onion taste toward the bottom of my bowl uhg) and to top it all off they forgot to make my to go order which I initially ordered when I ordered my meal. The veggie omelet was nothing special, very under seasoned in my opinion. My extra crispy hash browns were everything but. Being the only patrons in the restaurant remaining I literally heard them throw my food onto the grill/fryer at 2:02. They close at 2 and I ordered well before they closed so they can get out as soon as they can. There was at least a 15 minute wait for us to get the check after asking for it, and I'm pretty sure this pause was to let the kitchen have time to cook my order. If my server had communicated to me that the order was not punched in I would have understood the wait, but they didn't even give me that option or opportunity to cancel the order or not. Now I'm home looking at my order it looks pretty burnt, and the way they packed the gravy was unacceptable! It was leaking from both sides and all over the bag when I opened it. Went here for brunch after many years, certainly since before the 2020 quarantine. The interior decor changed. It's lighter and brighter, a bit beachy/nautical vibe, definitely updated and modernized. It was nice to see Alvaro and Gonzalo were still there.
