I've tried this place a couple times with my co-workers, but we always do a take-out lunch. We keep coming back to this spot, cause the food is never short on their quality & just so ʻono. I decided that I wanted to take my husband to dine-in for a Saturday breakfast. Nice & spacious restaurant in the Kea'au shopping center. Gives off those diner vibes. Lots of dining inside with some dining outside as well. Breakfast was pretty busy when we came around 9:30am. Service was still quick & you definitely feel the ALOHA spirit. When I asked questions about the menu, our waitress was very knowledgeable & helpful. I had a hard time choosing between the pork adobo bennie or the crab cake bennie. Ultimately, I had to go with the pork bennie. For my starch, I chose the Lilikoi Biscuits. My husband had Da Braddahs Breakfast with White Rice. The Ube pancakes caught my eye on the daily specials board, so I knew I had to order that to share between the both of us. Our food came out quick & hot! The bennie was amazing. Next time, I'll have to try the crab cake bennie. I usually have a hard time cutting my bennie, but the english muffin was so easy to cut through. Eggs were poached perfectly & that hollandaise sauce is to die for. In comparison to Ken's or iHop's bennie, I think this is the best bennie I have tried so far on the island. Everything on my plate was ʻono, especially those Lilikoi Biscuits. Crispy on the outside yet so soft and tasty with the Lilikoi sauce. My husband finished his plate, but he thought it was a bit oily. The Ube pancakes were huge, but we both really enjoyed it and had to take home the leftovers. The interior decor and the plates really added to the diner vibes which made it feel more homey. They also made it easy to pay. You can pay from your receipt by scanning the QR code or pay up at the front. We want to try their lunch for next time. We actually could have ordered lunch, since their whole menu is served all day. read more

9/20 Spent the morning their having breakfast I ordered an Benedict I must say the hollandaise was the worst color was way to dark an no flavor an thick like mayonnaise what a disappointment luckily the egg saved the dish. I would also like to add as I sat in my car getting ready to leave I witnessed one of ur worker's which was wearing a white hat doing a exchange of what look like a Drug deal I was parked right behind his car watching it go down. We live up in Volcano part time and come down here for breakfast when we make Hilo runs for shopping. They are now open at 7am and on Sundays which is great. The breakfast options in Volcano are limited and open at 9am. For us early birds, this is the best. We have tried a few items, Country fried steak and gravy, their lilikoi biscuits and the fried rice are some of my favorites. Support small business and give this place a try. read more

This morning I had breakfast with two other people at the Countryside Café. Two, including myself, had the Meat Lover's Scrambler. Both of us found it to be absolutely delicious. The country potatoes were flavorful, The eggs perfectly cooked and the lilikoi biscuit delightful. The third guest who can't eat meat at all had the Veggie Omelet and told the waitress it was the best omelet she had ever had, fresh veggies, and flavorful. The service was good, the ambience fits with the restaurant's name. It was reasonably priced and plentiful. I will go back again and again. read more

This place is truly amazing. I just wish they were open for dinner. We have been going to one of their competitors in Pahoa for a couple of years and it is just really nice to have another option if you're headed towards Hilo from Hpp to stop and eat. They have good size portions, fair prices and fresh ingredients. I never give anybody a five star review for anything so that should say how much I appreciate the owners of this establishment moving in where they did. The staff is attentive and treat you well and professionally and courteously. One of the owners stop by our table just to see how things were going and I appreciate that. It tells me as a customer that this person really cares about their business and they care what sort of job the their doing. This is one of our favorite restaurants. The service is excellent and so is the food. Some of our favorites are their lilikoi biscuits, breakfast burrito and vegie sandwich. Visiting family in Keaau and stopped here on our way back to Hilo. Fantastic service, huge portions, super tasty. The food was about average for breakfast. Nothing to write home about but it hit the spot. The macadamia nut pancakes had some nuts and honey or syrup on top and a few throughout but it wasn't something I would go out of my way to visit. Tried out this new restaurant the other day. Although I was sad that they replaced the Samoan restaurant in that spot, I was very impressed by the food. When you first enter, the staff acknowledges you right off the bat. My first impression felt great, not only did the staff acknowledge me but the theme of the cafe felt very much like my Midwest roots. Our waitress was Ash and she was incredible with my kids. She also was very knowledgeable about the menu. This restaurant takes great pride in their food. You can definitely tell that their breakfast meals are from scratch. I also had the wonderful opportunity of trying one of the most delicious burgers I have ever had. They call it the Terry Burger and it was incredible. They also went the extra mile and the way they made my plate look was art work. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for some great food and great service. read more

Warm ambience and very delicious Hawaiian style breakfast. We went in around 8:30am and it was very busy. It seemed that Naialyn, our server, was the only waiter there. The garlic shrimp omelet with lobster sauce was delicious. But service was slow. The worse part was that we had a party of five but the check could only be split in two. Ok, I only went one time and it was a to-go order, but the kindness and services blew my socks off. I'm looking forward to going back and dining-in next time. The location is great but for some reason, the 9,000 restaurants that were in this space previously did not survive long. I'm hoping it will be different for this crew because the food is good and their current staff act like they live to make you feel welcome. If I were forced to say something negative, I'd say they need to extend their hours to include dinner, especially since the 2.7 billion people that live in HPP and work in Hilo, pass right by every day.
