This is one of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley area. Consistently good, attentive, and friendly service. Nice selection of beers and drinks. Ambience is usually lively with a number of tv screens showing various sports games. The food is fantastic - party ordered the fish and chips, which were good portions of fish with a soft batter and excellent fries. Some of the best fish and chips I've had anywhere. The sweet Orr burger was also very tasty, my friend ate it quickly and loved it. The appetizers are also highly recommended. I've been here several times and have bought many people with me. I have yet to have a bad experience at County Fare. Their fried calamari is delicious as is the Sweet Orr burger. They Thai Chili Ribs they used to have on the menu were phenomenal. The owner seems like a great guy. I would often see him behind the bar. The rest of the staff has always been friendly. Love that they have more than 1 vegan option on the menu, they actually have a handful and I still need to try them all! So far I've had the vegan Reuben which was phenomenal, then I had a "b"LT which was not as stellar, and then I had the sloppy Josephine (tempeh twist on sloppy joe) which was pretty good. County Fare is my favorite restaurant in town. My friends and I discovered this place a little over a year ago and now it's been our staple go to. This restaurant caters to everyone's needs from great vegan, vegetarian options to even those who eat meat which never disappoints. They always have a great craft beer selection and cocktails. My personal favorite is their pretzels and their tempeh blt! What really also brings my friends and I back all the time, is the very friendly and welcoming staff and the owner Dana who is one of the most friendliest local business owner I've come across. Had an amazing lunch this week. I ordered a burger with pepper jack cheese and jalapeños. It came out with roasted jalapeños ... what a great surprise! The burger and fries were cooked to perfection. We also ordered their barbecue special... 1/2 rack of ribs, chicken breast, pulled pork, Mac n cheese, cole slaw. It was excellent and the price was very affordable. So this place hosts trivia every wednesday and its about 9:30. my party and I are getting bitten up by bugs at this outside event and we do every time and forget to bring bug spray. We ask the waitress Cary for bug spray, she says we don't have any but she has a personal can in her car that she can get. she gave us it and she donated it to the restaurant for wednesday's trivia. We were looking for a quick bite to eat after a trip to the mall and our expectations were blown away. From the moment we stepped through the door, my friend and I both noted that the atmosphere gave off excellent "vibes". The service was prompt, and the entire party was thoroughly satisfied with their food. Our waitress was friendly and informative. The Buffalo Calamari is a definite must try. As for the entrées, the salmon was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Two members of our party raved about the burgers, one going as far to say "that really was a freaking good burger". I would give this zero stars... I've gone there about 3 times.. the food is never good, the bartenders always are rude and the drinks are also so so. I was there with 2 other girls sitting laughing having good conversation and multiple times were rudely told to be quiet and we aren't aloud to curse(we prob did curse here or there a few times). First time out, it was medium well, sent it back and then got quite a rare burger. Took it home, I can cook it and have it for lunch tomorrow. Didn't have time to wait yet again for another game. Husband's mozzarella wedges were overcooked and my fried green tomatoes were undercooked. Don't know if I'll be back. Their fries were good, though. Would have loved to have had them with my burger. Drinks were good but that's all! Service was abhorrent! The staff were eating and texting at the bar ,the cook and the "manager" were just hanging out. It took 30+minutes for our order to be taken and another 10+to be given to the kitchen! Then, the staff broke out cleaning products and we're spraying it on one another. I know this review sounds ridiculous at this point but that's what happened. It got so bad we had to leave and cancel our food order. We were looking for a good burger and like to support local businesses, but we were so disappointed here. The buns were soggy and the bacon on my husbands burger was completely black. I asked for my burger well done (no pink) and it came out raw. Our server was very nice and apologized. Waited 20 minutes for a new burger to come out and it was completely charred to the point of being inedible. It tasted like eating grill charcoal. Apparently there's no middle ground here. Really cozy and intimate atmosphere with such delicious food. My husband and I went here a few days ago on a date and really loved it. They have a large selection of local craft beers and a very diverse menu. One of their tags on Yelp is vegan so I was so happy to see about four different vegan dishes that were not salad (Yay!). I ordered the veggie burger with fries and my husband ordered the veggie pot pie. The veggie burger and fries were delicious but after sampling my husband's food, I really wanted one of those pot pies. The veggies in the pot pie were so flavorful and the crust was perfect, just slightly crispy on the outside but so moist and flavorful throughout. A very hearty dish, perfect for a cold winter night.
