Speaking as a Hospitality and Tourism Management student, I was very unimpressed by the customer service that I received at this location. Last weekend, my friends and I were taking the elevator up to our room on the 9th floor. We scanned our key card and selected floor 9. Another man joined us in the elevator who ended up being a hotel security guard, pressed on floor 6. The elevator stopped on the 6th floor and the man got out. The elevator continued up. Approaching floor 9, the elevator stopped, DROPPED roughly a foot and turned off. Being someone with anxiety and fear of elevators (not to mention the feeling of dropping!!!) I panicked. My friends and I were caught off guard. They tried to calm me down while one of my friends tried to contact someone through the emergency phone button. It took a while to reach someone on the other line and when we finally told them that we were stuck, it was very difficult to hear them talking. Left alone in the broken elevator, the car was getting hotter (not sure how - but there were no vents) and we were all sitting in different corners SWEATING. 5 minutes into being stuck, we heard a man knock on the door from the outside and we replied with hi we are stuck in here! (still nervous) we overheard the man say, "yeah we can't get them out right now" I'm sure you can assume how my overall moral was at this point. 20 minutes later, the Boston FD showed up and managed to pull the door open. Unaware of where the bottom of the floor would be I was very nervous to look out. We were no less than a foot off of the floor on level 8 and had to jump out of the elevator.... Overall, customer service was very difficult to deal with and they even had the audacity to accuse us of "breaking" the elevator and wanted to charge me $400 for it to be "fixed". After the manager reviewed the report in the following days, we were told that she did not find it necessary to charge us the $400. The hotel itself is new and very nice but, due to poor customer service, we will not be returning to this location. read more

Excellent! Friendly, helpful staff and brand new, clean, spacious rooms. Great views and awesome location. Very close to the North End of Boston, walkable to the Federal Plaza. Very nice area that is being developed. I felt completely and totally safe the entire time. Super comfortable beds, very spacious shower and free WiFi. Bistro staff is super nice, too. Bartender is a cool dude. There is a bar right across the street that has decent bar food and outside seating. I had a very good Bloody Mary there. I would definitely stay here again. read more

This hotel is very new but they already have it dialed in. The rooms are great and the staff was friendly. Great location with a short walk to Faneuil Hall and the aquarium. Valet parking is $53 a day but incredibly easy and convenient. Places like this are why I love Marriott hotels. read more

My experience was wonderful at this Courtyard Marriott. My friend and I left an Airbnb due to a false advertising of location. We found this Courtyard Marriott available and we were able to check in right away. The staff was more than accommodating and took care of us/our needs the entire time. Especially these staff members... Donald, Megan, Bryan, and Chante. They all made us feel so comfortable and cared for after we were flustered leaving our Airbnb. The hotel also has a really good breakfast, clean rooms/bathroom, was reasonably priced, and is in a great location! I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Boston, especially if it is your first time in Boston. They made our experience one that we'll never forget. read more

The hotel is lovely and so are the staff. Megan is wonderful. The hotel is within walking distance to the North End and the Wharf.

This is a wonderful hotel. Great location, lovely rooms. So why only 3 stars? Unmasked staff during the delta surge. That's an insane business decision. Sure, vaccination rates are pretty high here. They're even higher in San Francisco, and we're getting slammed by delta because that's what it does. Boston is just a few weeks behind us with delta, as we were a few weeks behind the UK, and the UK behind India. There is plenty of data now that smart companies and smart local governments can readily access to predict that delta is going to send case rates soaring, mostly among the unvaccinated but also affecting a fair number of vaccinated people too. The vaccinated are unlikely to be hospitalized or die, but we can get sick and we can spread it. So why would you have public-facing employees without masks? How many unmasked guests do they interact with every day? As I write this, Suffolk county is averaging 145 new cases a day and climbing, and ICUs are at 84% capacity, For once, can Americans be proactive and save some lives? We seem incapable of learning from other places--abroad or in our own country. Why a business would allow public-facing employees to go maskless into a delta surge is unfathomable. The CDC has been slow to react to delta, but many businesses are making the smart decision to get out ahead of this thing and not wait until hospitals are at 90, 95% capacity before taking proactive measures. Mask up, for Pete's sake! Protect your staff. Protect your guests. read more

Great location. Nicely kept hotel rooms. So clean. Great hotel overall. The valet parking wasn't great. A lot of the workers didn't know to take my ticket or keep it. Went to pick up my girlfriend at the airport, valet worker was sleeping, took a while to get my car. But the hotel was great. read more

We booked our room two months ago we show up the room is not ready they ask us to call back in an hour so we do we do that three times the room still isn't ready now it's 4 o'clock and the room is not ready and now it is supposed to so they say 15 more minutes we wait 20 minutes go back up they say maybe 45 minutes so now it is 511 in the p.m. after a two-month early booking time and waiting another hour and 15 fucking minutes these guys are terrible and Andrew at the front desk sucks read more

We recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown/North Station Boston for the wedding of my niece starting on a Saturday at 4:00. This was one of the recommended hotels, and closest to the venue. Our stay was a problem from when we pulled up to the hotel. We had my elderly parents with us (90+ years) and we were harassed by parking attendants coming and going. The hotel had one wheelchair for 14 floors of people. And no carts for luggage. No wedding bags with itinerary handed out. After calling many times for early check in throughout the months and weeks before, we received room keys at 3:15, still carrying our luggage. Fifteen minutes to prepare ourselves, and my elderly parents, for a wedding beginning at 4:00. I made reservations at various hotels in the area for other people in my family. Everyone, EVERYONE, at other hotels was checked in early. Except for us at the Marriott Courtyard, the most expensive hotel we reserved. We were recently asked to become Marriott Members/Bonvoy for points and benefits. I will think twice before ever spending time in this Marriott, or any Marriott again. read more

Here now, staff is dumb. Hotel in Boston with no room service, so I had to go to Bistro to order. Waited 10 minutes for the bartender to ask what I needed. He was too busy trying to pick up the only 2 people who were sitting at the bar and telling them he was an uber driver and proceeded to get his phone and show them his app. I was asking a few questions about the menu and he walked away to help someone who needed a coffee. I'm guessing he doesn't make much in tips, which is why he also has to drive uber. Booked a cityview room and when we checked in I asked to make sure that was the kind of room we were getting and I was told that all of their rooms at booking show city view and that it is something that has to be fixed with the online ordering. We were able to get a so called city room, but its more a view of north end and boston harbor, not the actual city itself. The other strange thing is that we are on one of the penthouse floor, but there is no difference than any other floor. Ok location. Staff needs ALOT of training!! read more

As Kathryn L. experienced, the Front Desk Associate got our perfect stay off to a great start. He was welcoming and efficient. The property is modern and clean (and yes, brand new). The location is very close to North Station, for easy access to the rest of the city, and the North End and its attraction. The granola/fresh strawberries/banana bread breakfast was quite good and reasonably priced. read more

Stayed here a handful of times. Great location and nice enough facilities, but beware of their cancellation policy. They offer no flexibility/ zero tolerance within the 3 day notice, even if you have Marriott status. I spend around 50 nights/year in Marriott properties, and have only had to cancel one other reservation in the last five years - which that property did not charge me for. I would have expected a little more understanding here. What really surprised me was that I felt deceived - I had booked the room with points and when I called to see about cancelling, was told the points would be returned to me. They were, but it would have been nice of them to mention they'd charge my card $600 as a cancellation fee instead. I guess one could argue I should have asked the right questions, but in my business, I wouldn't withhold that information. I wouldn't suggest using this property if you have other options. Ill be looking for a property with more transparency and honesty, and likely using a non-Marriott brand moving forward as a result of this experience. read more
