Nice clean hotel. Great value if you're looking for a Park and fly. $152 for a clean room and parking when catching a plane for vacation. Shuttle to the airport is nice to avoid the traffic. Our room was close to the highway so there was road noise but with ear plugs it was tolerable and not as bad as other hotels we have had that problem with. We would stay here again because of the good value. read more

We were a bit hesitant to stay here based on previous reviews, but we are totally glad that we did. The lobby was spacious and the staff was excellent and friendly. There is really not anything here to complain about. Need a car to get anywhere, but take my suggestion and get an unlimited train pass if one decides to go downtown. On the blue train line from the airport and the hotel shuttle is awesome. The pizza from the lobby is great for a late night snack. Not fancy, but it works for the family. The ATM on site is a lifesaver. Ed, the manager of the hotel, is very friendly, and ensures that everything is just perfect at this location. It should be the standard that other hotels should follow. Will definitely stay here again. It's just excellent for a near airport stay. read more

I visited Chicago for the first time with my brother for four days. Due to the high prices of downtown hotels and the high parking rates that accompany them, we stayed at this location. This Marriott is very close to the highway and is only about 15-20 minutes to downtown. There is also a Casino next door for entertainment with a nightclub that played pretty good music when we stopped by. The staff was very helpful and nice during our entire stay and the rooms were cleaned daily to perfection. Also since it was probably the only place you didn't have to pay for parking, I would definitely stay there again! read more

Bill the shuttle driver got the visit started off right - he was already waiting at the terminal when I showed up and was super friendly and chatty. Check in was friendly and easy, and my upgraded-for-Gold room had plenty of room and plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Easy back-and-forth to the airport, and good bistro / bar. Not a bad hotel overall but spent 5 minutes standing there watching coffee bar guy count change instead of wait on customers. He actually asked us to wait. Seriously. These are business people in a hustle to get to the airport. Then when we went back to get my associate a coffee he was totally awol from his post. Terrible terrible service. read more

I was torn between two and three stars here. I stayed for three nights and my room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and all of the staff were super nice. My main problems were: 1. The key cards just did not work. I was given two keys at check-in, and when I went upstairs, neither key worked. I had to call staff to come up and try them, and when they didn't work, they gave me another set of keys. Then the same thing happened AGAIN on the same night. And you also need to use your key card to get in the back door (where I was told to park since it was near the elevator to my room), and THAT didn't work, so I had to bang on the door and a (very nice) staff member came out to help me. You also need to use your key card to get both in and out of the parking lot. None of the 6 to 8 keys I was issued ever worked there; every day, several times per day, I had to press the button for assistance. Every SINGLE time. Oh and then on my second night, AGAIN I had to call staff up to let me in my room. It's frustrating when all you want to do after a day at a conference is crash in your room, but instead, you're standing around a hallway waiting for someone to come help you with something so basic. And they were always like "Let me try your card," which I understand, but really, I seriously know how to use a key card. But, when I expressed this key-card frustration at the front desk, they very kindly waived my parking fees, so that was nice. 2. No room service...I think. This was a bit confusing. They do have a "bistro," but when I asked whether they had room service, the server said no. Then she said, "but if you call down we will bring food up to you." I said that that sounded like room service to me, but she said that it wasn't. I didn't try calling, so I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. I AM sure that when I'm paying $220/night for a room, it better have room service. 3. And then there were a few smaller things. I wasn't given a Do Not Disturb sign, which was strange. My door latches sort of overlapped so one of them didn't latch. The fridge wasn't very cold. The first night, my thermostat wouldn't go below 73, and it was just barely too hot to sleep well - but they fixed this the next day. The front desk had no idea if I could watch the Cubs game in my room; surely I wasn't the first to ask? (It was the NLCS!) All minor things, but again, over $200 a night means these things should work. Still, the staff were all terrific and that's really important, so they get an extra star. read more

My husband and I only stayed here one night while on a short turn around trip to Chicago. In short, our entire experience was enjoyable. The rooms were clean, neat, updated and sizable. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms immaculate which is always a super plus in book. The staff was courteous for any need we had. The parking was free which was a huge reason we stayed here over other neighboring hotels. It was within 10 minutes to the airport but you weren't disturbed by any airplanes like other nearby hotels we've stayed at. The location was easy to find and located close to the freeways. Recently stayed at this hotel with my wife, great little hotel. Room was nice size, clean and updated, front desk staff were great. We had breakfast in the bistro and enjoyed our meal. This Courtyard Marriott has the Bistro Cafe that serves Starbucks coffee. They have the best burger and fries platter. The burger is one of the best I've ever had. It's juicy, tender and comes with a Bistro Sauce that really complements the burger. It's just the right size for me which means it might not satisfy some people. The generous portion of fries are very crispy, have a nice flavor and are not greasy. The platter comes with cole slaw and even that's really good. The hotel is clean and the staff are really nice. They were able to grant my room request because the room I prefer has a great shower head! Try not to get a room at the end facing the highway be because its really noisy. read more

Always a clean hotel, but it's getting dated with the carpeting and room decor. I don't understand why they don't have a real soap dish for the bathroom sink and a cup for brushing your teeth. Remote controls for the tv don't always work and should be checked on occasion. Bathrooms have a weird configuration. Overall a convenient place to stay but needs some upgrades. read more

My husband and I come to Chicago at least once a year to visit family, and normally we stay in the Springhill Suites on Higgins. It was booked this year, so we stayed at The Courtyard instead. We were so pleased! Beautiful lobby and courtyard. Spacious, clean and modern room with a very comfortable bed! We didn't eat in the cafe, but did appreciated the Starbucks coffee. It was also fun to stay next door to the Rivers casino. Love that there's free parking. Only thing missing is free breakfast, but we know that's rare! read more

Not bad for a Courtyard..Nicely done on the lobby. Great breakfast menu! The staff is courteous and friendly. Housekeepers were very friendly. The only drawback were the ants marching through the desk. I thought it wasn't a big deal but there were a lot of them the next day. I had to call their engineer to spray those bastards out. I couldn't muster the bug spray after an hour in the room so I asked them to switch me to a new room. Luckily they had a room available. read more

My two year old daughter and I accompanied my husband on a business trip and the staff here went out of their way to help me. The front desk staff was beyond friendly and helpful when I had several requests. They provided change for the laundry services, charged our snacks to the room to save us the trouble, let us stay in the room while we waited for my husband to return and even gave my daughter a little toy. I was recently forced to overnight at O'Hare because of storms and flight cancellations. As a Marriott Platinum Elite member I choose Marriott whenever I can, so the airport Courtyard was an easy choice. I stay in Courtyards all over the country, but this one is exceptional. The front desk staff was courteous and accommodating, even putting together a little bag of toiletries and snacks. The bistro staff was very quick with my meal, and even the housekeeping staff showed that there is a strong commitment to training at this property. Overall my stay simply could not have been any better, and considering I was only there for one night, it is remarkable that they made such a powerful impression. I will definitely return to this hotel the next chance I get. read more

I had the opposite experience from Matthew Q. Everyone at the hotel provided excellent service, including the bus driver and those working checkin. I was forced to find a place to stay at the last minute due to a weather cancellation and this courtyard had good rates. Others were in the same boat and the shuttle from the airport was full but the driver took care of us professionally. After the shuttle dropped us off there was a long line to check in. The line moved fairly fast, and a person from the bistro came offer and offered us drinks while we waited in line. Nice. The hotel is a bit run down but I'd instantly stay here again given the rates and service. read more

We did the Mudderella in Chicago this weekend. We came to the hotel after the race with super muddy shoes from the race. We asked the hotel staff if we could clean off our shoes with a hose outside. The staff took our shoes and cleaned off ALL the mud in the laundry room. Wouldn't take any money from us. They just said write a review...so here it is! Great place to stay! read more

I only stayed here for a night two weeks ago but thoroughly enjoyed my experience. We utilized the airport shuttle and the driver (I think his name was Latisse?) was extremely kind and pleasant. I enjoyed having dinner at the bistro (I had a Turkey BLT with some veggies and chips), the bartender, Maria, was so nice! We booked this hotel because it was next door to Rivers Casino. We had a party planned and did not want to be driving. Mind you we just booked this exact hotel in May and did not have nearly the problems we had this time. My friend who booked the room was stuck in gridlock traffic and was unable to get there to check in, she called to see if I could gain access to the room and they told her I would have to pay the fee for the room. When in May another friend booked a room and they would give access to the room to someone else with a $100 cash deposit and it would be returned the next day. He was incredibly rude to my friend even though she explained what we did the last time we stayed there, he was incredibly rude and was not interested in assisting her. She then ended the conversation, finally we arrived to check in and upon our arrival we were informed there was an $18 parking fee for each car that stays overnight after we just paid $200 for the room... No one mentioned this on the phone nor was it posted on hotels.com where the room was booked. Again he was insistent the fee was charged in May when in fact it was not... So on top of the $200 for the room us and our friends were expected to pay an additional $72 to park overnight... A little ridiculous, it is not downtown Chicago. Finally we get up to our room and discover it is a handicapped room, none of are handicapped... We called to ask for another room that was not and of course there were no other rooms available. Needless to say we will not be booking at this hotel ever again. read more
