I was in town taking care of some family matters and opted to stay at the Courtyard by Marriott Cincinnati Covington. The hotel was chosen for the reason that it was near almost everywhere I needed to be. Additionally, the location was enjoyable for the reason that it was near a lot of restaurants. In non-Covid times, this hotel is excellent, as the amenities offered are great. However, in these weird Covid times, those amenities are absent, which is somewhat understandable. The restaurant/bar (The Bistro) is closed, housekeeping is not provided unless you request service. Breakfast items are replaced with a brown paper bag that you have to visit the front desk to acquire. The brown paper bag breakfast consists of a yogurt, a fruit bar, and a snack pack fruit cup (similar to what Happy Gilmore would consume). Coffee is provided at the front desk, but you must ask for it. Additionally, there is a small coffee maker in the hotel room; however, if you consume the one packet of coffee you are issued and you do not request housekeeping for your room, you will need to hump it down to the front desk for your brown bag breakfast and a cup of coffee. Parking is great, but it's literally $10.00/day. I believe the pool and gym are in service? The hotel did observe all the standard Covid protocols, masks, lots of sanitizer stations... If you want something to eat, you can walk 20 yards out front to White Castle and if that's not your thing, you can walk across the street to McDonalds, Taco Bell, GoldStar Chili, Chipotle, Burger King, Frisch's, The Waffle House, Riverfront Pizza, or Skyline Chili. Overall, I would probably stay here again, as its literally near everything. The only knock on the hotel is that the hotel itself is literally 40 yards from a very active railway; therefore, if you are lite sleeper, you may be woken by an early morning freight train, or the occasional Amtrak. Also, the paper bag breakfast could be better provided that the nightly rate is roughly $120.00. Why not toss in a bagel with some cream cheese along with what is already offered? Beyond that, the rooms are nice, they all have mini-fridges, some have views of the River and the staff is insanely nice. Also somewhat related... Do yourself a favor and procure a rental car when in this area, as Uber is literally nonexistent. read more

We've stayed at this location at least 4 times now and continue to come back. Sure, there are some fancier hotels in the area but this Courtyard has everything we could need. We have always gone here for my boyfriend's birthday weekend and they have always accommodated us. This time, I called ahead and asked for a high floor request with a room with a view. Upon check-in I was psyched to find out we were on the ninth floor facing the river! The staff is super nice here and the beds are pretty large. I would totally recommend staying at this court yard - plus it is normally only 25,000 points which is great! read more

One star just because it was clean. Booked online and it said they had pool and hot tub. Got here and was told it was closed due to Covid. Was told oversized parking was behind parking garage. It was small and no room to park. Had to park across street in park n ride. Not a very safe place to park under the bridge! Breakfast is grab and go. At 150.00 a night and the amenities they claim are not provided or accessible, they should have at least given a discount! Won't be back! read more

On a business trip and was impressed with this hotel.. hotels are slightly all the same to me anymore I'm not picky but great customer service? That stands out. It was around 11pm and we were anxious to get out for a drink. The lady working the front desk gave us this adorable map of a trendy local bar scene. Her suggestions were right on and she was even working when we returned for the evening and treated us to a wholesome smile. Some people working hotels late at night look like zombies, our clerk last night 3/18/2017 was alive and well. It's the little things, thanks for the great suggestion. Pros: Staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and fairly large. WIFI is pretty fast. Cons: The location is a bit sketchy and their bistro is understaffed. There are trains running nearby than can wake you up at night, especially if you're on the east end of the building. read more

I've been meaning to start my first review for months. Finally a great experience pushed me to do so. Quick notes: clean hotel, convenient location, stylish new bistro, friendly staff and free parking. Side notes: gym feels a bit small when hotel is busy but comparable to other competitive brands. A train does stroll by hotel. I am a light sleeper but never woke up to noise thanks to initiatives staff has put into play. True reason for 5 stars: Betsy at the front desk. Check-in was smooth and friendly. She assisted me in locating a grocery store and beautiful running route. On top of that she helped secure a room on a close to sold out night that was not selling on line. She started easy conversation because she remembered key parts of earlier convos and genuinely cared. Exactly what is needed when I'm on the road for a week. I was happy when I walked in after a long day and she was at the desk. Great associate - don't lose her, true asset!!! read more

If your staying in Covington, I wouldn't recommend staying here. The staff was less than welcoming. The lady at check in told me where the elevator was and that was it. As a platinum member, I expect a little more from customer service. I was totally bummed by the hotel and lack luster service. We used the Courtyard Marriott for our wedding weekend on 7/7 because we had several people from out of town. The shuttle was key for getting our guests to and from our hall, and the front desk staff was friendly and patient with us dropping off all of our welcome bags. The communication with staff in regards to booking our block of rooms was efficient as well as getting info for the shuttle. The lobby where we spent a lot of our time partying was clean and did not mind our late night gatherings. Thanks for making our guests happy during our wedding weekend! read more

Great value for the price! The rooms are very, very nice and very clean and have everything one needs. Honestly, they are no worse (or better even?) than some 5-star hotels I've stayed. Hot tub was definitely a nice addition (beware of very strong chlorine fumes.. and it dries out your skin. I guess it's the price one pays for disinfection), and the lobby is very tasteful. The only comment: when we ordered breakfast, everything was packed to go, which is very wasteful in terms of packaging. I wish there were recycling bins or actual tableware. STAY AWAY!!! Tried to stay Feb 3rd 2018 and it was NOT CLEAN! The ground level hallway was very wet , elevator floor had spit or some unknown liquid all over it, 5th floor hallway had pizza crusts on the floor, our 1st attempt of a bedroom had a dirty sock tucked under the sheets (not washed or changed), 2nd attempt of a room had black spots all over sheets, 3rd attempt of room had hair in sink , on pillows and on sheets... front desk manager knew of our issues and we left, Michelle said we would hear from management asap... still haven't heard back read more

hi, as a reward member I was pleased with the bedding; it was very comfortable and a clean room. I was disappointed in the lack of knowledge of the Cincinnati area which was across the river. I suggest that the manager train the front desk to encourage the residents to use the Purple Peoples bridge and the bridge behind the hotel which they can access through the river walk which has murals about transportation across the rivers. in addition when we asked about a restaurant no one suggested the restaurant at the Radisson. the van driver Mary Ann helped my mother and I a lot. also, Keisha made sure our needs re met. I suggest that the front desks highlight areas in both Cincinnati and Covington. read more

Mixed feelings about this one, first off when we got close to the hotel my eyebrows were raised by the area that it's in. Plenty of fast food restaurants around for a quick meal, and free parking was a plus. I will say, staff was very friendly that is HUGE in my book. Our room was average, I am a stickler about cleanliness, you can tell that they cleaned but I look in corners and crevices (food from previous guests was left) also, I don't think that they vacuumed the 2nd floor hall in a while. I also did my normal bed bug check so I pulled things back to inspect the mattresses and the stain on the mattress almost made me pick up and leave...I didn't want to put a damper on the weekend that my husband planned so I put everything back in its place and slept on the top of the duvet. Was this a terrible place/NO...Will I return/probably not, but you be the judge. read more

This hotel is really nice. There is a lounge & dining area downstairs & an outdoor seating area where you can hang out. The room we had was clean & cozy. The bed was comfortable as were the linens. In all, there is nothing negative I can say about the room. However, me & my husband were extremely disappointed that there is no complimentary breakfast or coffee. Yes, there is a small one in the room. But most hotels offer at least complimentary coffee in their lounge area. They have a cafe-style "restaurant" as well as a Starbucks. But be willing to spend at least $7 for breakfast. I just think its weird that there is no complimentary breakfast. Most of the other hotel competitors offer that & there are several hotels nearby that do. If they changed that I would give this place 5 stars. read more

Oh Courtyard. You proved to me that a simple oversight can really ruin a place. It wasn't just that one of our joining rooms wasn't adequately cleaned. Or even that the little bit left behind was disgusting. But after finding a straight up, how to put this politely...used condom in the room, we called the apologetic staff and grabbed all our stuff and moved it into the one room. They offered up another room on the house, but we were just ready to get our stuff in after a long night working and go grab some food. But what escaped me at the time and I maybe should have asked for is to comp the room we stayed in. That took off another star for me. I am too nice and was understanding and thanked them for comping the condom room - but we DIDN'T stay in the room. Of course they didn't charge us for it - we didn't use it! But they acted like that was being accommodating and not to worry about the bill. Then after cramming into one room, there was the bill under the door the next day. I feel like it should have been offered free of charge. Not sure how to explain the grossness of sitting on a bed in pjs about to order in pizza and looking down by your barefoot to see that slimy circle, nice and full. Ughh. The lady working the front desk was so nice during check in, answering the gross call and everything, but this experience just warranted a 1 star no matter how nice she was. I gave this place a middle of the road. I actually liked the price. It's very clean and well taken care of. There is a huge concrete wall so seeing the river is not going to happen. We like to have a view when we stay places. Actual area is a bit rundown, but they use what the have very well. I would stay here again. The staff was very good. read more

If you are looking for a relatively good price, free parking, WiFi, clean rooms, and friendly staff ... also close to downtown Cincinnati - this is the place! They had all the accommodations of a Courtyard and a great view of the Cincinnati skyline. They even have free shuttles that run to downtown.The only downfall of this hotel is the location in Covington. There is nothing within walking distance and its popped in a not so great area. But overall - we will definitely stay here again. read more

We love this hotel! It's not directly across downtown Cincinnati but off to the side, but the view is still spectacular. Clean rooms, friendly staff and service and nice courtyard and pool. We brought our 3 year old and he's loving the train that goes by (as we face the city side). I honestly don't hear the train that much, as others have said, and we're pretty close to it. The rooms are also all updated, so very chic and nice! Also about 1.8 miles from Newport so not far! We will definitely stay again! read more

Usually when my family is going to be in town for the Labor Day holiday we get a river-front room at the Courtyard to watch the fireworks in peace...avoiding the drunken crowds and heat is usually our main goal. Hotel rooms with river-views are very in demand on both the Cincinnati and Kentucky side of the Ohio River on this weekend so call well in advance to reserve a room. The Courtyard, like many other hotels in the area, insists that you reserve a room for a minimum of two nights on the holiday weekend (I'm not sure if this applies to other holidays but I'm sure it does). The price per room, however, stays the same as they normally are...they don't jack them up ridiculously, which is nice. It's by far the most affordable nice hotel on the river, which is why we choose to go there. Rooms are clean and modern and the hotel didn't care that we had a party of about 20 (only half stayed the night, but still) going on in our room, which featured two double beds. read more

I drove all day and got there about dinner time. My first room had hair in the shower, pew on the toilet seat and was not clean. After carrying my 50 lbs of luggage back to the lobby (5 minute hike) I complained and was given another room where the tv didn't work and all of the furniture had cum stains on it. I did not get to eat dinner until 9:00, three hours later. If I wasn't traveling on business I would have gone elsewhere. read more

Never Again will I stay at this Hotel. For the price you pay to stay here you would think things would be top notch. The is by far a subpar hotel. When visiting the pool we noticed there were parts of the area falling apart with missing tiles and brown spots forming. The pool even though the claim it was heated was not and even though the Hot tub was hot not even half of the jets worked and massive subs like I was taking a bubble bath. At night there was a train going all night and woke us up for sleeping constantly. On top of that when we left for the day (gone for about 12 hrs) when we got back our room hadn't be touched. Are used towels were still on the floor, the cups hadn't been replaced, the beds hadn't been made, the toilet paper was out and hadn't been replaced and the floor hadn't been swept. When I informed the staff as soon as we got back that night and the manager in the morning nothing was done. It was as if they didn't care or had no interest in retaining a customer I was never treated so poorly. Definitely will never visit again. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else read more

I love that I can come for the weekend with my kids and they bring their Xboxes and all their electronics and swim and we just have a great time! 3 stars only because front desk was nice and the room was nice also. Pulling into the parking garage is bad set up. You have to swing out to get in and the Internet is horrible. Network connection lost is what I seen at least 60 times. I complained twice and was told we don't have any complaints, but when checking in the lady told me she lost connection and I heard someone else complain. This is a pretty sad Courtyard. Dated. Clean. Front desk help seemed friendly. No wifi in the rooms, yet they claim to be a business hotel. And, the trains are pretty loud. There are signs in the room telling you about the train noise, but that seems a bit late. They do offer ear plugs though. Guess that tells how loud it can be. It's a tired property, but many Courtyards seem to be these days as Marriott seems to be building and investing in Springhill Suites and Fairfields. read more

I really like the hotel - the room size is good, lay out is fine, well furnished. The best thing is that the free wifi is fast, unlike many other hotels I have been to. Stayed here for business on 2/18-2/20. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful but that was the only upside for me. Was woken up 5 times each night from a passing train next to my window. I also seemed to have a bad allergic reaction to something in the room, air was dry and I got a bad rash after sleeping there. Probably won't stay here again and I visit cinci on a bi-weekly basis. read more

We stayed in this hotel at a rate of 256.00 per night during the Cincinnati Jazz fest. It was our first time attending, and my wife and I were very excited. Though the festival was in late July and we booked in early January somehow we still wound up with a handicap suite. On the first night we realized our ac unit in our room was stuck on even turning the system off on the wall the unit continued to blow. We called the front desk the srnt someone to service it and he was able to get it turned off. However through the middle of the night the unit turned itself back on which left us freezing through the night. We woke up the next day got dressed and left. When we came in later that afternoon we called down again, they sent someone up, and he was able to get the unit turned off for a while. Later we got dressed and went to the concert. We came back to the room after the concert... you guessed it ac unit is blowing again. We went to bed in our clothes and just got the hell out of there early the next day. I called corporate to complain and the assistant general manager Steven Maushart responded   "I am sorry that the air conditioner was coming on randomly throughout your stay.  As soon as we heard about your air conditioner, we sent an engineer to the room to check the unit and it was working properly." What a slap in the face!!!! Cavet Emptor (buyer beware) do not spend your hard earned dollars here. As for me this is my second bad experience with Marriot... We'll never spend another dime with them. read more

Stayed here merely for convenience and did not expect luxury. Didn't get luxury but had a comfortable stay in a clean room. We were only staying one night and we are "Silver Elite" Marriott status so we can usually score free rooms. We did on this occasion as well but were a little disappointed that we did not get a room with a river view. But hey.... FREE is good! The place was completely booked mostly due to five weddings and the Reds in town playing St. Louis. We got a nice room. Just about all Marriott properties are usually clean and very livable. The shower pressure was not great but it was OK. Bedding was very clean which is a high priority for me (I always check the spread because I know a lot of hotels don't always change them regardless of what they tell you). The couch in the room looked old and worn out and they could probably stand to update this location. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. This gets high points for me. Customer service seems to be a thing of the past in many hotels these days but this place has not forgotten who the customer is. If we escape for a weekend again to Covington/Cinci, we would not hesitate to stay here. Convenient to all of the Cinci attractions and restaurants and easy parking at no extra cost. read more

Let me start by saying, I did not stay here. I booked this hotel several months in advance of the WEBN fireworks. Not being from the area, I asked two very important questions: can you see the fireworks from the riverview room? and is it within walking distance to the festivities? I was told Yes on both. I reserved 3 suites. My sister then called to verify and was also told yes. But then she talked to someone from the area and they said "you might want to check that again". And sure enough, when we called and spoke with someone they told us that even paying for the riverview, you could not see the fireworks and that it was a 45 minute walk to the area. Thankfully I was able to cancel before we were charged. The hotel may be fine but I do not appreciate false information just to book a room. read more
