Doing a one night stay before a cruise. Check in was quick and painless. It helped that I am a Marriott Bonvoy member. Most of my information was brought as soon as my name was typed in by the front desk. The young lady who checked me in was polite and efficient so the process was smooth. I was provided with 2 complimentary bottles of water so I liked that. Your room key is required to use the elevator and I am on the 12th floor so can't lose that. The room is not large but adequate for a one night stay. The bathroom is small as you can see in the picture. It is okay for just me but I would prefer not to have to share it with someone else. This hotel has potential,but I got an awful room. It was not at the standard Marriott usually is at. There were a couple of employees & amenities that made the stay better, but this place needs an overhaul. Here's a list of things that were wrong. The room smelled. Th toilet was broken where I had to reach into bowl and fix over a dozen times. The toilet was crooked and seat was broken The safe was broken. The conditioner did not pump out of bottle. The AC was loud. The fan in bathroom was loud. The food at the hotel was average. The two employees that were helpful were the maintenance tech. Stephen B. who fixed the safe immediately and was very nice. Also Anna the housekeeper was helpful as I needed something and she got it for me. I liked the pool area. With a couple of upgrades, this place could be very good. Also I think I paid for parking and the hotel was supposed to reimburse me. It is a convenient location in Brickell. If you value your sleep this is NOT the place to stay!Noise cancelling headsets should be provided to every patron until they can sound proof the whole building. Seriously, it sounds like you are sleeping outside! The echoing of the Street races, motorcycle races, angry horn honking, people screaming, sirens......OH MY! It is never ending! On a good note, I appreciate the customer service, hospitality, cleanliness, the nice pool area, the cafe (although pricey), and gym. Pretty much all you need is within walking distance. If you enjoy the hustle and bustle of the downtown life then this is for you. I honor and appreciate my sleep and the health it awards me, so that's a hard pass for me. Pleasant overnight stay, parking was free and this location is very convenient to the arena. The room could have used some cleaning. There were stains in the curtains and the couch. We were in town one night for a concert. There was a low noise level. The staff was courteous and we were checked in and checked out promptly. We would stay here again. read more

My daughter and I stayed for one night post cruise and it hit all of our major wants: pool, restaurants nearby and walking distance from the Frost Museum. Everyone was super nice. Front desk staff was amazing. Pool was immaculate and possibly the best I've ever seen at a Courtyard. Our room was great. Bed was comfy! Our room looked right out onto the pool as we were around the corner from the entrance to the pool. The AC was very loud but for me that's a plus. There was also a white noise machine instead of an alarm clock which was an extra bonus. I have read about noise complaints here but I heard nothing. I live 10 mins from O'hare on a landing path though so I wouldn't have even noticed. This is going to become my go-to for pre and post cruise stays! read more

This is the first Courtyard Marriott that is old and dated. The lobby is nice and it smells refreshing unlike the rooms. Upon arrival I was greeted with smiling faces. I was maybe 2nd or 3rd in line. Guest services rep reminded me of the restaurant hours and other tasty eateries in the area. After checking in I went to unload my bags. Immediately opening the door I smelled cigarettes and just an overall musty mildew odor. The bathroom had a strong mildew odor. You would think housekeeping would keep the rooms fresh with whatever cleansers they're using The sofa is old and dirty. I did not sit on it :( The bedding was clean from what I could tell. Bed was comfortable pillows always a favorite . I loved the window that faced the busy downtown streets. Great view of all the happenings The price is about the same at all Courtyards it increased bc of an event starting today. I am here for work and had to extend my stay. Initial rate $282. Rate increased to $408 due to the event for the additional 2 nights. Taxi's are coming through on the hour or every 30 min or so. The gentleman who checked us in was so kind and was sure to let us know about the shuttle (although we paid less to take an uber). Location is next to some great restaurants and a Whole Foods. PROS: -Convenient walkability to a DGX convenience store and nearby restaurants and bars -Water provided in the gym CONS: -Odd bathroom layout that requires twisting very far to the side to grab toilet paper, to the extent that I recommend grabbing paper before you sit down...lol -Employees not welcoming and not attentive -Parking system described by an employee as "finicky" My 5-night stay was not terrible, but not good, and tainted by an employee who repeatedly rebuked us unnecessarily, which requires some explanation: On checking in, we explained that we only needed parking until X/XX, so the employee assured us that he reflected that in their system and sent us on our way; but on checking out, a different employee advised that we were charged for parking for the duration of our stay. When we explained that we gave our parking dates on checking in, the employee said that we were supposed to tell the front desk when we were leaving the parking structure with our vehicle for the last time, so they can reflect the correct parking dates and charges, because their system is finicky. Even if that were the case, she did not need to chastise us multiple times as we waited for her to redo our bill. Then on further review after leaving the hotel, I saw that I had actually been emailed a tentative bill copy the night before checking out, and it had the correct parking dates and charges anyway, so I'm not sure why the employee even hassled us. In any case, the best thing about this hotel for me was the location, with convenient walkability to a DGX convenience store, MetroMover stops, and a bunch of good restaurants and bars. On the flip side of walkability though, is the difficulty of driving to the hotel, for you and any unfamiliar rideshare drivers. The hotel is on SE 2nd St which is one-way and has 3 lanes diverging to different routes at the light right before the hotel, which is confusing the first time you encounter it and difficult to navigate because the signs are not legible until you're fairly close to them, and then it's difficult to change lanes if you're in the wrong one. You're supposed to be in the middle lane (to go straight through the light and turn left into the hotel), but the middle lane gets backed up with folks trying to get onto the I-95, so we saw lots of folks take the right lane (through the light and then immediately cutting left to get to the hotel). I appreciated their pool area and gym. The pool area requires a separate keycard and the hours end a bit early at 7 p.m. I had zero good employee interactions, only mediocre and bad ones. The 3 times I went to the front desk and couple of times I went to the hotel restaurant, it took awhile to be acknowledged, even though there was never a line. The time I asked the front desk for a new keycard to enter the pool area because the one I was given did not work, I was met with a blank stare for a few seconds, before the employee took my old keycard and exchanged it for another, literally not saying a word to me, despite my beginning "hello" and ending "thank you." read more

Unbelievable- they overbooked us and sweet talked us to go all the way back downtown to homewood sweets by Hilton all the way back to airport to find out they did not have a room actually reserved for us or gave it away !!! I'm traveling with 86 years old moms and was trying to be so happy for them but this is insane and down right rude will never stay with them again nor will I stay at hilton homeward suites by airport So disappointed because I was trying to be so under stable ! I stayed here for one night before heading out on a cruise with Royal Caribbean. On the plus side, this hotel is super close to the cruise port. It is also very close to a ton of good restaurants that you can easily walk to. The status recognition here was great, as I was upgraded to a big suite-type room with a balcony after booking the cheapest room they offered. Overall, the hotel was clean, and the staff was helpful. As for the downsides, the rooms are dated, and you will see that is a common theme throughout the hotel. There isn't much on property with regards to food or drink either, which with the offerings within walking distance being good, isn't a deal breaker, but it could be problematic if you are not wanting to go out. Overall, I would stay here again, as the price was good, but I'm certain you could do better in the immediate area if you are looking for something a bit nicer. read more

This was my first time staying at the Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Miami and it will be my last. This place came recommended through a third party and they did not do their duedillegence. The hotel is nice but there is major construction going on the 7th floor on the pool. Which the pool is closed. Our executive suite was on the 2nd floor and we could hear drilling. I spoke with the front desk and their only recommendation was to move to another room. In normal circumstances that would work but we were on the second floor so the sound was vibrating through the whole hotel even in the hallways. We asked how long and if they could cut their drilling short but that was a no go. There was no sign posted inside the hotel lobby area. I asked the front desk clerk if they could post a sign and she informed me that she would share this recommendation with her management. The front desk clerk informed me that they had a note on their website and explained I booked through a 3rd party so I didn't see the notice. Or even a notice outside upon arriving. I would have gladly booked another location. The hotel allowed guest to use the Hyatt pool but I didn't find that out until my last day. You have book housekeeping 24hours in advance. So upon checking into the hotel you need to notify them if you need housekeeping. We requested extra toiletries, towels, and toilet paper. The hotel has a weird entrance that appears to be on the side of the building. The room light fixtures were dated and light was very dim. One of the light fixtures was emitting sounds so between the drilling during the day and the light fixture at night it was annoying. read more

Did they use the blind plumbers union?. building inspector didn't catch it either so I guess that's why buildings collapse in south Florida. Solidly okay hotel for what I intended to do here. I stayed for 3 nights and had no real issues. The showers have great water pressure and the room was clean. If you have a room overlooking the city lights definitely use the blackout curtains. The beds are comfortable and the room was spacious. However, I did not like that there is no real head board (it was more just a white block), and the staff was hit or miss most of the time. There is also no hot breakfast in the morning so it was a bit of a pain to find something to eat. Location wise, it is good. Really close to the Metromover, a little tram that loops around Downtown and nearby Brickell. It is also close by the airport and cruise terminals, as well as a short Uber or Lyft ride to Miami Beach. One thing to note, if you are a light sleeper, keep in mind the planes that fly overhead. It is a common occurrence and might annoy you. But that is easily remedied with a white noise machine in the room (which they provide). All rooms also have a bedside alarm clock which I liked. Overall I recommend this hotel if you are here for only a few days. read more

If you're cruising out of Miami or in town to see a game at Loan Depot Park I definitely recommend this hotel. We were traveling with friends who have Marriott Bonvoy points and fans of the brand. I can be a bit snobby about hotels and this really lived up to my standards. It's the perfect hotel for a one night stay in Miami. I love that the parking deck is connected and accessed through the hotel. My only cons, why is Miami such a Pepsi town and a great perk would be a Tesla supercharger. read more

This was one of two hotels that I stayed out my most recent trip in Miami. One of the better hotels I've stayed at over the years in Miami as well. Check-In and check out was a breeze as both took no more than about 5 minutes. Quite a few things I liked about Courtyard. My room was a on the 15th floor I believe it was so had a decent view looking into the downtown Miami. The room itself was very spacious, clean and well kept. Bed was comfortable and the shower worked great. If I recall correctly there is a happy hour on the days the bar was opened, so took part in a few drinks down stairs. Was also able to get a good workout in at the gym which is located right next to the pool. I got to take a dip in the pool as well, but be aware if you do go that pool time ends at 7pm which for me I consider a bit early, especially if it is a really hot day out. Also, located downtown Courtyard is easily accessible to restaurants in walking distance within the area and a quick 10-15 minute walk to Bayside Marketplace. Added to that Courtyard is not heavily expensive either, so with all the amenities and location it is well worth the price. A definite recommend if you're looking to stay in the Downtown/Brickell area of Miami. read more

My checkin experience was horrible with the front desk, almost to the point that I would not be able to stay with full payment already paid for my stay via Expedia. After almost 15 minutes waiting for my turn, I was only told that I could not stay because the hotel wouldn't accept Apple Pay for security deposit. My payment however would be forfeited. Good spot if you want to be near the Miami arena, the cruise ship port, bayside or in downtown. With that being said, you most likely will hear the roar of car engines or the hooting and hollering of people strolling down the sidewalks. It is located near the Whole Foods and there are plenty of restaurants to walk to. Around rush hour is zero fun if you are driving in then. So I recommend getting to the hotel before 4pm to avoid the one way jammed streets of rush hour. Also, Saturday nights you don't want to be driving past 6pm because the streets get jammed up then too. My room was updated and clean. I was on the 12th floor in 1225. "Kevin H." At check in was welcoming, friendly and efficient. There is parking in their parking garage that is a $35 charge. You must check in first to get the card to scan into the garage. Checking in can be challenging as the area to park to go into check in is small. Another reason to get in during the day when it may be slower. There is a counter that you can order food from. The menu is limited, and just okay. In the morning the same counter serves Starbucks. They also have breakfast, however I was long gone before breakfast started. I was leaving for work, while people were coming in from partying. The shower got super hot in the mornings, however in the evenings was like warm which they may want to check out. When I checked out, I could see they had a complimentary coffee station available. Also, if you use your room key, you can access the hotel through the parking garage on the second and third level. They had a security guard walking downstairs around the garage entrance too. Definitely map out the hotel streets prior since there are one way streets around. If you drive past it, you will be heading back to the highway. The hotel is on 2nd ave keep in mind. So don't let your mind take you to the side where the big sign is because there is no entrance. read more

He was very welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable of the area plus, gave good recommendation for things to see or do in the area. The view from my room was ok, just a building with graffiti ruined the skyline but I know Marriott has very little control over this. I'd definitely return to this property if I'm staying in Miami. Check in process was a hassle as my reservation was in the system under the wrong name. Took nearly a half hour. Was then placed on the 7th floor directly across from the pool construction which was so Loud you could not have a conversation in the room. When I went down to address it, they moved me to the 8th floor, which was still incredibly loud. Someone else in our party had gone to complain And were moved to the 14th floor with a balcony - WHY WASNT I OFFERED THIS ROOM IN THE FIRST PLACE???? For two days had to listen to construction which we were told was "9-5" but was well outside of those hours as well. Manager was aloof and didn't care about displeasure of many guests, and everyone seemed to either be training or just not know what was going on. Hotel bar only open 5-10??? Stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. The hotel is centrally located with access to Brickell shopping area and only two miles to the cruise terminal. They have a fabulous outdoor pool deck with great views of the city and they have a small gym. The lobby is spacious with a Starbucks and other eating areas. However, it is so expensive and because it was so expensive I was expecting a very nice room but not so unfortunately. It was average, clean and old, very old. It was fine. I guess it's because we are in Miami, the city the prices.. I can't even imagine what I would get for just $200 a night elsewhere close by. So, the three stars are for the high price and deflated expectations. Parking by the way was $39 per night . Cheaper at the cruise terminal where it is $22 per night!! read more

This will be a rather interesting review because overall the hotel is in a great location and a great place to get some rest. Checkin was painless, the hotel appears to be clean, the shower feels great, and the king bed and pillows are relatively comfy. The Uber/Lyft ride is $20-$30 to south beach and $10-$15 to Wynnwood, I like the location a lot because it's away from the commotion when you're ready to relax after a long eventful day. My biggest gripes are that my bath towel had hair on it upon checkin, and the phone to front desk didn't work so when I needed service I had to call the hotel # from my cell phone. The "city view" is pretty miss-leading, and the bathroom is tiny. I paid $350/night for the room and definitely didn't get my money's worth so I'm not very happy about the money spent. $200 should be the absolute max for the rooms, and that's pushing it. Hotel staff is pleasant and I'm thankful for the stay but wouldn't do it again. Unfortunately, the value of this property doesn't hold true to the nightly rate. If I could do it all over I'd spend extra $50-$100/night to stay elsewhere. Hope this helps. read more

SERVICE Did not use any. ROOM  Clean and had a nice ocean feel to it.   I love they had a hidden microwave and fridge inside the room.   This, I am sure is underutilized.   However, if you are there for many nights, always nice to have. PRICE $118 a night. OTHER THOUGHTS Unless you need to drive, I would recommend walking/Uber to whatever location you need to go to.   With the overnight rate of $40, it is arguable it Uber won't get the job done for you. Last day here someone had charged my room with food purchased at the restaurant.   Upon checkout, staff was really good about getting that corrected.   I give them kudos for that. read more

Two unclean rooms after room change. On-duty manager Dale Nysetvold stated second room could not be cleaned due to COVID. Worse than sanitation: bad management. Rude, condescending. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Elite Gold Member. This was most hostile representative ("General Manager") and unclean hotel that I've ever seen in my life. We took a 2/3 financial loss as Dale refused to refund or transfer (a transfer approved by a different Marriott Hotel Manager at separate location) and we took the loss since we really just wanted to get away and also because of his hostility. We did not feel safe in this unclean hotel. I will let the check-in room pictures speak for themselves. I wish in Florida that recording was allowed for his communication. read more

We stayed at the Courtyard Miami Downtown/Brickell Area on the night of 03/08/2019. We had a problem with parking being charged to our room in error after the parking kiosk was out of order and a parking attendant took our payment in cash. Once the General Manager of the hotel was made aware of the problem, she corrected the matter immediately and made things right. Now, we are very satisfied that our concerns were addressed and taken care of. We were on the 9th floor and our sleep was somewhat interrupted due to the loud noise from the many jets flying over the hotel. read more

This Courtyard Marriott location wasn't as nice as the last one that I visited in San Diego. The facility was clean. The internal door to the adjoining room would not lock so I had to prop some furniture up against it as a safety precaution. I did not inform the hotel staff as I was only staying overnight. The Bistro restaurant food was quite tasty. The most memorable part of my stay was the professionalism of the staff. They were nice and accommodating to me. I think 3 stars is more than generous for this hotel. Location is good and staff was friendly and helpful but the rest is not so great. First room they gave us smelled like wet socks but they happily moved us to a better room. There is also no cleaning of rooms here because of covid unless you stay for 7+ nights. The worst thing about this hotel was their parking garage. $35 + $8 tax for a night?? I wish I could recommend staying here, but I can't because they seem to have a bug problem. I was in town for work and had a perfectly decent stay. The hotel is centrally located and the staff was very friendly. The rooms are a little on the shabby side, with very noisy AC. The pool area was nice and served as a nice way to unwind after work. Now, onto the bugs. The morning I checked out, I was packing my bags and notice this guy dead at the end of my bed. The picture doesn't do it justice because this sucker was huge. We all know any place can have bugs, but what concerns me about this hotel is that when I told the two colleagues I was traveling with about my new roommate, they both had seen some unregistered guests during their stay. One coworker noticed a bug in the hallway of the floor above mine, and then later saw staff spraying the hallway. My other coworker was working downstairs in the bar area across from a lady who was also on her laptop. She began yelling and jumped up as a huge bug scurried across her keyboard. This leads me to believe the hotel has a systemic problem. I did mention it to the front desk as I checked out, and showed the photos attached to this review. They were very apologetic and credited 5,000 MR points to my account. I'm not entirely sure that was fair considering I am Gold, but I was checking out and wasn't going to ask for a free breakfast or drink as I was catching a flight. In closing, I would avoid staying here until they get their bug problem under control. read more

We stayed one night, before boarding a cruise ship. We booked way in advance. The check-in process was quick, friendly and efficient. The room was nice and clean. Like others have mentioned, you're right downtown in a busy area, so there were car noises. My wife and I slept fine, not bothered at all by horns or racing engines. As an aside, there was a "sleep sound machine" on a side table that produces white noise...and that was cool. There's a small Starbucks cafeteria in the lobby and that was handy. There's a CVS a block away and we picked up some water and snacks. We were to board our ship at 1pm so I asked Kevin at the front desk to extend our 11am check-out and he said, "No problem...how does 12:30 sound?" Perfect! That's Marriott service right there! I can highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a nice hotel close to the cruise ship terminal. read more

Not what we expected from a Marriott Courtyard. This hotel is way below what Marriott standards are. I could not believe that they made everyone at the pool move out of the sun because they were doing some painting . They had a surprise inspection the next day. They could have done it in the morning (early) or late afternoon when the sun was almost gone. The Hotel Mgr gave everyone a free drink coupon. The lobby was nice and the breakfast was good. This was easily booked through hotels.com. However, since it was booked well in advance, there was some issue with the check-in process. Luckily, I was able to screenshot the email confirmation # along with notes written for non-smoking and each guest names, so that my friends that arrived first could check-in. There was another hiccup with the room we requested and since the double bed wasn't available the first night, our friends were comped with 4 complimentary breakfast tickets for the next two days of stay. They then offered to switch them from the King bed to double bed room the following day. Not too shabby! The double bed was quite spacious with a sofa that turns into a pull-out bed if needed. Their restroom and walk in closet was more spacious if compared to the Yve Hotel in Miami. It was within walking distance to the UMF event and elevators were fast! Their lobby had a "Proudly Serving" Starbucks, which I was content with, but if you're looking to use your Gold card, go down the street to the real Starbucks. It's not so bad when they serve you delicious breakfast before 11am with the complimentary tickets. Their lobby had plenty of comfy seating for guests to wait and even two long couches on the way to the restroom. If you're on an adventure and do walk past the restrooms, there are even more single couches to be found! The only downside to this place is the pungent odor/fragrance that smacks you in the face when you step into the lounge. If you're not into that type of smell, then you're probably quite allergic to other fragrances like me. That smell was so bad it paralyzed my senses and made me forget what I was doing there in the first place! It makes me so nauseated until I either go upstairs or leave the lobby area. read more

The pool was great and there's a shuttle to the cruise port for $6 per person, the shuttle runs late so you're better off booking it an hour before you actually need to be at the port. The area is in waking distance to shopping and food. Those reasons are the only reason for the 2 stars. When we checked in we asked to use our AAA discount, we were told we could only use it online when booking but there's no option online to use the discount and the desk rep said he couldn't apply it. We almost always stay at a Marriott and that was the first time we've ever been told that. We checked in and just dropped the bags in the room. We finally got ready for bed around 2am only to find dried blood on the blanket. Called down to the front desk and they came up and took the blanket and gave us two sets of sheets because they were out of blankets. The manager originally wanted to give us a small discount for the blood but after my husband insisted they do more he gave us a little more off. Courtyard by Marriott Miami Downtown/Brickell Area - Hotels Near Me - Miami, Florida

I was working an event about a mile and a half away from this location. Prices were really high around this time, as I would've preferred to stay at a Marriott or a hotel closer to the water but Courtyard's are usually pretty nice so I decided this would be fine for three nights.I arrived at around 8:30 at night and there was only one person checking people in and a long line. Luckily, I got there pretty quickly before the line started getting very long. I finally had to speak up and Kevin came right over to me to check me in. He was kind and helpful and answered all of my questions, offered me breakfast vouchers because they don't have a concierge lounge for platinum members. He thanked me for my platinum status and also offered waters which I needed and thanked him for. The hotel was at capacity, so I didn't get my corner room but I did get a nice room on one of the higher floors. My room was a decent size and nice couch area as well as a big comfy bed, a view of the pool, and a TV that you can stream showtime, HBO, Netflix. There was a pube and something that appeared to be a blood stain in my shower so I felt like I needed to clean my shower before getting in. They have a nice outdoor pool area with an Bar that is open on Friday and Saturday. The fitness center has a lot crammed into it but the space is v small. One morning there was 7 of us and we were on top of each other. I dined at the Bistro each morning and the service was lovely. I tried the avocado toast and the breakfast bowl which is a new item they added. Both were good. The breakfast bowl has mostly potatoes and although they are delicious, they should cut the bowl with more veggies or lettuce to keep it in the light and healthy side. It's a good location in downtown Brickell area and in walking distance to Whole Foods and some restaurants and the Bayside Marketplace. The prices are affordable for downtown Miami. Do not recommend. We stayed here over a weekend. - Our room smelled like cigarettes and the walls were paper thin and we were woken up by the people in neighboring room. They eventually did move us as after we complained about it. - One of our car tires was slashed in the parking garage. There are no cameras to record it. When we informed the staff they gave me the Miami PD number and hung up the phone. Just be sure to park in an area with more people to avoid that problem if you decide to stay here. read more
