More like -star. I had made a reservation on Booking.com on 6/1. When I got to The hotel on 7/31 at 4 PM the Front desk told me that they had canceled my reservation. They stated that they had emailed me did not get a response and they had no telephone number on file. I checked my booking.com profile my phone number is on there which would be stated on my booking reservation. And I had two credit cards on profile I could've ran. When I got there they told me that they were no rooms available I was pretty upset because this is never happened to me using booking.com before they usually don't cancel your reservation unless you don't show up by midnight. The front desk clerk was a young guy and he was very rude and he treated me as if I did not belong there. I did a search of my emails, they had emailed me while I was driving to the central coast no I don't know about you but I don't check my emails while I'm driving. All of this sounds very fishy to me. So it made me think of my future bookings on booking.com and I called the hotels that I had made advance reservations and they had shirred me yes my reservations were shown and they told me they don't run the credit card until I get there now that really Confirms at this hotel was doing something shady. The front desk did not offer customer service I will never stay here they will never get my money and I gave Them a negative rating a review on booking.com and TripAdvisor. I've stayed at the Marriott in Brooklyn, z.NY. the Marriott in San Francisco the Marriott in central valley I've never had any issues. Courtyard Marriott is a nice three star style hotel near downtown Paso Robles. This medium sized hotel is just off Highway 101 near Spring Street with a decent amount of free onsite parking. The hotel has a bar and restaurant in the lobby and a small outdoor pool and hot tub. You get a lot of Highway noise in the patio area, but it's pretty private. The facility has the modern Marriott look and feel which is nice but can be a bit firm and modern. Everything is clean and comfortable with a great staff. Most of the downtown stuff is a rather long walk for most, and the immediate area is pretty basic. You need a car here, but it's close to everything with no surprises. read more

The Courtyard Marriott is my go to place to stay in Paso Robles. It's in a convenient location right off the freeway and it's also semi secluded so you're able to feel like you're away from the hustle and bustle. They renovated all the rooms about a year ago so it got a face lift where almost everything was updated. The beds are comfortable, depending on which side of the hotel you're at, you'll have a great view of the city or the hills in the back. It's picturesque either way. The team here is very hospitable and are very helpful. If you download the Marriott app, you're able to expedite the check in check out process a little bit. Parking: there's usually tons of parking available but it depends on how far you'll have to walk and if you'll have to drag your luggage down the steps from the upper part of the parking lot down to the lobby. For all you pokemon trainers there's a pokegym in the parking lot and a pokestop in the center of the hotel. read more

Had a very good stay there this past week. Having been at several Marriott hotels over the past few years, this one was definitely one of the nicer ones. Clean and tidy room, comfortable bed, and wine glasses in the room made it easy to enjoy a nice bottle of Sisquoc Cabernet. A couple of people need to be recognized as well.....I called the hotel a few hours before my arrival and spoke with Rianda at the front desk, and requested a ground floor room. She noted it to the file, and the room was ready right when we got there. When we arrived, she was nice, pleasant, and made sure we had everything we needed. Also, there was an employee named Jose who was very helpful in getting us some extra coffee (I made a cup as soon as we got there). He dug all over the place and found it for us, which was appreciated. Definitely will hit this hotel up again if I stay there in the near future. read more

The room was small but clean. In the bathroom, you can hear a vent. This is good because you know the bathroom air is being circulated and not just going into the room. I don't like the toilet seat it is too Thinh. The gym is awful. It is missing dumbbells. It jumps from 15 pounds to 45 pounds and nothing in between. There is one 35 pound dumbbell. Let's start off with the pros about this place, they are located close to everything. Nice pool, clean hotel and kind staff. Very comfy bed and large bathroom. For the price at almost $300 per night, they don't offer free breakfast. Happy hour in the lobby is only $1 off your drinks. The furniture inside the room is slightly dated. I did have a good night's rest after coming back from a concert at Vino Robles. No complaints there. It's just one of those comes down to money and I don't like how they don't include breakfast with your stay. read more

Very nice new building. Lots of handicapped parking. Huge lobby- with a Starbucks! Easy check in. Large rooms. In-room fridge. Coffee maker. Iron. Hair dryer. Nice flat screen. Good beds (we had a king). Nice linens and great pillows. Nice loveseat and a large credenza. Odd five dollar water in room- five dollars for water? That was weird. Our reservation said "view of mountains"- not sure what that was about. We had a view of the parking lot, and a hill. We didn't need a view- but it was weird to be told we were going to have one and then- well- parking lot. We needed a bed. We got a bed- and it was a decent bed. The people around us were a little loud- and woke my husband up, so maybe bring earplugs. You can definitely hear the other guests. There were some weird stains on the wall paper (coffee maybe? This hotel has the potential to move up to a 4 stars. Let us start with the positives. Good location, it is under a mile walk into town. Overall very clean facility. When we checked in the front desk person was fatigued form the weekend folks leaving and us checking in. Even though we are a Bonvoy Member she gave us an access room on the ground floor,which is ok except the shower has no border so water can go everywhere. I wish she would have asked us. Secondly, the landscapers started work at 7:30 or 8 in the am.right informs of our window. Maybe they could wait a bit. Would I stay again? This was one of the most disappointing Courtyards we have ever stayed at. Checking in was good, very professional. The first room we were given had hair all over the bathroom. The room had fresh towels, but the bathroom was obviously not cleaned. They quickly gave us another room and when we pulled back the sheets for the bed, more hair. It appeared that the sheets were not changed. The sheets were changed while we were at dinner and things were good for the rest of the night. In the morning, we could not get the shower hotter then luke warm. So we had to take warmish showers. Not a good way to start the day. This is a large hotel, not a small B&B, you think you could get hot water. There are a lot of hotels in Paso, we would not stay here again. read more

I had reservation in here today. Their customer service been messaging me back and forth about the room that will be ready for us when we get here We got here and nothing is ready for us. For four hours nothing has been done on their part to check us in. My daughter had used their bathroom at the lobby and it's so filthy! The customer service named Pricilla and Conrad or whatever his name. These two cannot give me any answer of when they can check us in. Do not book here unless you want your booking to be canceled at the last minute without any notice. We booked during July 4th weekend using Expedia and came to the hotel around 4. They told us that they tried emailing us and that we will be sent to Best Western. We were pissed, we paid for a Marriott and they expect us to stay in best western and we'd actually stayed in this particular Best Western before and were not impressed! After wrangling with them for over two hours they were willing to refund us and pay for the Best Western. Overall a thoroughly horrid experience. We will not be returning and will be wary of booking a Courtyard Marriot in the future. read more

I stayed here for my birthday during a terrible heatwave in August. The front desk gave me the best room in the house: next to the laundry room and without a functioning AC system. The AC was not able to get the room to below 76 degrees. We were burning inside. I called the front desk and they didn't apologize and simply said, "we're all booked up. there's nothing we can do". He seemed a little young and, granted, it was around 1am, but still, I'd expect a concierge to be a little more sympathetic. Luckily, I booked with points and called customer service. They refunded me all my points and I also got 2000 points for a 0 night stay. Fortunately, my friend's Airbnb had an extra room, so I just stayed with them. Other than the AC not working, the room was a little dated and smelled dated, but it was a typical 3 star hotel. read more

I have always had a great stay at the Courtyard. The location is perfect for visiting wineries, having a nice dinner in downtown Paso or making a quick trip to the market. I was shocked to find that as I immediately drove off the highway, my GPS told me we were at our final destination. What? I did not just drop $200+ a night on a hotel room off the highway. Oh, but I did. It's literally right off the highway, but so is Paso Robles, so there you go. This Marriott is brand spanking new or recently remodeled and is actually very nice, it costs a pretty penny as well. However there is a pool, free guest laundry and free wifi, all pluses in my book. The rooms were pretty spacious and that bed was comfy. It's about a mile from the downtown Paso Robles area where the main square and restaurants lie, but a nice walk or a quick uber/cab. Definitely a solid hotel and hey, it never hurts to earn those Marriott points! read more

Pretty cool place right in Paso Robles, I happened to stop by during an afternoon where they have a free wine tasting event from a local vineyard. the staff is friendly and they have a bistro open in the mornings and evenings. The room is nice with a couch I wish i could take home and a squishy soft bed,. The room has a tv, desk, fridge, coffee maker, wardrobe and lots of power outlets for charging cell phones and laptops. For those of us who travel a lot with lots of gizmos this comes in very handy. The view is pretty cool, i ended up with a west facing room and have a view of the mountains with houses across the highway which is far enough away not to be heard. I'd suggest staying here and touring the vineyards if you have time. read more

This hotel is in an odd location in a business park. It is close to the highway and not too far from downtown so it is not too bad, just odd. A few blocks closer to downtown would be great for walking, but it is fine. There is a lot of parking so that is easy. The lobby has been updated. The check in process was fairly easy. The staff was very nice through out our stay. The elevators are a little slow but not horrible. The rooms are standard size and in good shape as they have been updated. The beds were fairly comfortable. They have the updated tv system that allows you to log into your Netflix account. That is a feature I am a big fan of. Overall this is a solid place to stay. We will likely stay here on our next trip. read more

Nice new hotel. Like all of the rebranded Courtyards, they no longer provide free breakfasts. They have a Bistro where they sell light meals from breakfast through dinner. A full bar in the lobby is also another revenue generator. So much for treating loyal guests to perks. $17 for a 2 egg breakfast and coffee - major rip off. You'd think the brand would offer Platinum members free breakfasts & morning coffee. Ask for a room on an upper floor facing away from the highway for extra peace and quiet. Rooms well maintained and clean. No in room safe for laptops & misc items. Free WiFi - moderate speed. TV not loaded with channels. A/C was powerful & quiet. The staff here were incredibly helpful in setting us up with 3 rooms for 6 nights with no prior notice, arrived Monday August 16. (The hotel we originally had reservations at was a dump, so we moved.) All of our interactions with the staff were outstanding -- desk staff, bistro staff, bartenders, cleaning staff......They certainly took the edge off our upset from the other hotel. Our rooms were clean, updated and well appointed. Comfortable bed. Nice updated bathroom. Small refrigerator under the bar. There was a sofa and stool for comfortable seating. Well-functioning A/C. Quiet, even though our room faced the highway. There was a coffee pot in our room, and we easily obtained extra coffee packets every day, since due to COVID restrictions the rooms were not cleaned and stocked daily, only on request. Plenty of clean towels on request. During these times, we actually prefer not to have people coming in our room. Our group enjoyed the large lobby with many seating areas. It was quiet and pleasant to gather there in the evening, rather than crowding into a hotel room. There is a bar that serves wine and beer, so some evenings we ordered from the bar, and sometimes brought our own drinks and snacks. Twice ordered from the bistro as we were too tired to go out-- flatbreads, quesadillas, etc. -- which were good and reasonably priced. Reservations, check. Called ahead 3 day in advance to confirm what I reserved, no down in the room due to severe allergies, check. Check in on the mobile app this morning and specifically call out "no down in the room, severe allergies", check. Get here at 1:30 am and my room is full of down and the best part.......wait for it.....they don't have anything but tiny decorator pillows they left outside of someone else's door. Epic fail!! Somebody better get their bootydown to Walmart. U had one job!!!! Update, I met with the on site manager Zach the next day and he did fix the problems going forward. Bravo to Zach! Second time staying here. Booked for 4 nights but checked out after 2 nights. Did not feel safe and staff at desk just outright rude. Jeff (maybe Jess) checked us in and was no, no, no to simple questions. Just a absolute jerk with no customer service skills. I asked him to stop touching his face with his mask tucked under his nose as he handled my credit card and ID to which he responded "do you know how uncomfortable these are to wear?" Yes we do, everyone is wearing them. Courtyard/Marriott Covid policies very loosely enforced here. Photo of trash in the evening that was still there at 9:00 the next morning, so much for the constant sanitizing... We checked into another Courtyard in Santa Rosa a day later and it was 100 times better, We felt very safe. read more

I'm a recent guest here and am underwhelmed. As a Marriott Gold member I often get upgrades and a bottle of water. Checked in and told no upgrades, that's understandable, but told me they were out of water (1/2 bottle), but I could buy a full bottle if I wanted. Considering Courtyards require a 48 hr advance cancellation and being a Gold and former Platinum doesn't even get a 1/2 bottle of water it's elsewhere for me. Rooms are fine, typical Courtyard, but not upgraded to the latest design. Staff at this particular Courtyard are not as friendly as most. read more

0 stars is not an option! My room was changed from 2 queens to 1 king and a pullout due to over booking! The elite members took my room that I booked 2 months in advance!! Never again will I ever stay at this one! They are NOT kid friendly!!! The older people stay there and run the rules of the hotel! My baseball team was kicked out of swimming pool because some of the older adults complained! They can not hear us! My daughter was in the room and I called the room to see if she could hear us. We had a room by the pool on the 3rd floor. She said no not at all which was exactly what I thought! We were told the boys needed to quit throwing the water toys and settle down. We did that as the older people looked out their top windows they must have called again and we were told to leave the pool! Wow we pay just as much money as these people! Will never ever stay here again! Ever!!! Another funny point one of the ladies working said it's a breath of fresh air to see kids here. I should have took that comment and knew what I was going to be dealing with. Rooms are small and outdated as well. The iPhone clock in my room was for the old iPhone 4. This Marriott property (accessible right off the freeway) has been purchased by PeachTree Hospitality Management--what a great team! GM Tyler Anderson greeted us and made us feel welcome throughout the week. Front desk staff was always smiling and helpful, especially Rein! The bistro menu was adequate for all dietary tastes. Fast and friendly food service presentation by Amy and Richard was outstanding! Room coordination and endless recoding of keys by Cassandra was especially helpful. Although the hotel will be renovated it is still in great shape and absolutely spotless. Beautiful outdoor dining area, pool, small indoor bar with cold beer on tap (805!) Lots of space in main area and in double queen bed rooms. 7 minute drive from the Paso square chalk full of super cool restaurants and even a hidden SpeakEasy! 2 minute walk from Urgent Care (Covid testing), dental, wellness, CPA and real estate businesses. 2 minute walk from Thai and sushi takeout. Wine country is fabulous! DAOU, Justin, J. Lohr, Cass etc. This last minute trip worked out extremely well for us. We have stayed in many hotels and this was a pleasant surprise! read more

Small room Listed microwave but wasn't in our room. Maid came in to clean but we were getting ready for our event so asked to come back, but she never came back to clean our room. Called the front desk to complain and somehow he put us on "No clean " status. Three nights we stayed and the room was never cleaned, unacceptable. They offered to give us the Reward points but who cares! They had a sign " Happy Hour" at the cocktail lounge. NOTHING WAS COMPLIMENTARY. You get a dollar off on beer and wine. No nuts, No pretzels. What the heck?! My sister had to go buy a bag of pretzels from the hotel store. Marriott is a big name but they did not impress us one bit. read more

I recently booked a reservation here with a 48 hour cancellation policy. I cancelled prior to 48 hours and the hotel is still refusing to refund my money. Further, when I asked to speak to a manager they said he/she was in a meeting, even though they had just put me on hold to confirm with the manager that I couldn't get my refund. And when I stated that I would hold for the manager to get out of the meeting, they hung up on me. HORRIFIC customer service and falsely advertised cancellation policy. read more

Our stay of October 18th: THIS...is a VERY HARD REVIEW TO WRITE! As we have stayed at this property probably 100 nights since opening...and we LOVELOVELOVE IT. We are very frequent Paso visitors, and honestly, could not even consider any other place to stay. UNTIL NOW! Briefly: NO protective barrier on the check in counter between staff and guests. I asked about that and was told it wasn't necessary because there was probably a 6 foot separation between check in guests and staff. People sitting in lobby visiting, without facemasks. People walking through lobby without facemasks. Employee serving coffee at the Bistro Bar without facemask, and when I asked her shouldn't she have on a facemask, her reply: "You're wearing one, so you're protected." Then I went to speak to the manager who came out of his office without facemask. When I told him my experiences and observations and pointed out the mandates, AND THE SIGN in the lobby entrance saying :"Masks required at all times while in the lobby, elevator and other public spaces, thank you Courtyard Paso Robles" HIS reply was that this was really just a suggestion and anyway no one in SLO Country would probably enforce that anyway. My comfort level went to about zero at that point, questioning how complete sanitizing, etc. was. We checked out after one night instead of staying three. VERY VERY disappointed because as I said...we love this hotel, the staff, the service, etc. But...will not come back anytime soon now. read more
