The food truck was in my city, so this time I actually went and bought food. I ordered the Lobster Quesadilla, and I was debating on getting extra meat for $8 more, but didn't. The quesadilla was $23. I can't say that I've had better, since this was my first lobster quesadilla and I have nothing to compare it to. But I'd imagine that's what it's supposed to taste like. My palette was looking forward to the taste of lobster, so thats all I was focused on. Meals range from $22-$29 and soups are $9/$11....they also have kids meals with a grilled cheese or quesadilla. I've eaten Cousins Maine Lobster when they were at OhanaFest in Dana Point. Festival food is pricey, thanks to the cut that goes to the festival so their lobster rolls were a heart-stopping $36. If you are hungry, you may not be full at all. I attached some photos and it happens to be sitting on a napkin but you can see that the box is smaller than the napkin. And these are your generic, diner napkins. So it's small! Positive is that the quality is good. My disappointment is the high price and small quantity. However everything is expensive these days. This is a food truck so there isn't much to say about ambiance but we ate in our car. We ordered the Connecticut style lobster roll which is warm and the lobster quesadilla. I was a little disappointed after opening the boxes. The roll was smaller than expected and had less lobster. Other places I've been put more lobster. However the roll was tasty, but for $25 I was hoping for more. The quesadilla was the same. The quesadilla came cut into 4 triangles. Most of the quesadillas were either missing cheese or missing lobster. Only the tip of each of the four pieces had both lobster and cheese. As you make your way to the edges, it became only tortilla. Attended an outdoor concert at a park and decided to give Cousins Maine Lobster a try since I do love anything lobster. Unfortunately a very disappointing foodie experience! The lobster bisque had no flavor nor lobster. I had to add a ton of crystal's hot sauce and some seasoning just for it to be palatable. The Connecticut lobster roll was comically small in size and it came out cold and a tad fishy smelling. Not hot, buttery and delicious as expected. Almost $50 total for a mediocre meal. Today being a Tuesday, I thought why not try the lobster tacos since I had never had them before. They were delicious, at first I was a bit confused because I thought they would be served warm, with that being said the tortillas and the lobster were fresh but I would've Asked for the lobster and the tortillas to be heated. This review is for the Maine Lobster truck- my husband ordered the lobster tail and tots to go, upon opening our order we saw Little to no "lobster tail meat" $26 dollars for just tots and bunch of tomatoes and pico de gallo and maybe 5 pieces of lobsters (cut up) is definitely not worth the money. The company should invest into making sure that buyers get their money's worth when it comes to what they ordered. I've never been to Maine or anywhere on the East Coast, so I can't compare to "the real deal" as I've seen in other reviews, BUT I love their Connecticut Lobster Rolls! I tried Cousins twice already, once in Irvine and most recently in Garden Grove. The line can get long. We got there right at the start time, but we didn't get to order until an hour later. We didn't know about ordering ahead online until we saw some people come and pick up their order. The Connecticut roll is super flavorful, and I enjoy the warmed lobster a lot. I also like the bun they use. $23 is pricy for a sandwich that size, so I'd only get this once in a while. I rand into this particular food truck at 13 Point Brewery in Lemon Grove when they were visiting San Diego from Orange County, CA. I had the three lobster tacos for $18 and some change. They were alright. i felt they needed more flavor. The lobster was cooked properly and was tender, but it was very simple in flavor. I wish the tacos would of come with some drawn butter too. The cilantro lime sauce was pretty good but it needed a little more oomph, if you now what I mean. I wish I would of know that they serve them with corn tortillas too. I missed that on the menu. I recently drove out to Irvine CA, to give Cousin's a try. The truck was parked just outside an apartment complex in an easy to find parking lot. I walked up to the truck and asked the server to tell me about their most popular dish. He explained that it was the Connecticut lobster roll, served warm. Sounded good, so I ordered two of them as combos with tots. I found the rolls to be a little smaller than I had expected them to be, but they were loaded with lobster. So much so, that the lobster was spilling over the side of the roll. I love lobster and the roll was absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed the generous portion of the tots. Found them on on-line and saw that they were gonna set up shop five minutes away from the homestead...to the rear of Four Sons Brewing in HB. Planned for a week to go. We went. Apparently, there was some type of controversy with the location and they were closing up when we got there around 2PM. They had to move to a different location right down the street. So, we drove here to Hangar 24 Redlands to try the food truck. Love lobster. Went to order. They only take cash. No sign posted stating this. Thought, no prob, I'll just order from their app. Unfortunately, the truck location wasn't on their app. When I went up to ask, I was told they turn it off when it's a busy place. Funny!!! Only saw one or two people at most at a time. Amateur move, Cousin's! Get with the times. I watched you lose sales because there's no atm, no way to order on the app. I'm sure Barbara would be surprised at the lack of business acumen. Update: appreciate the challenges faced. But it would behoove you to post a sign on the truck stating cash only. And have an update posted on your website cash only. If you know this is a problem at that location or any other location with poor reception, then be proactive. You are a business! It hurts you way more than it hurts me.
