The lobster truck happened to be at an event we were attending so I thought why not try something that I am always craving- lobster roll specifically the Connecticut style. I can't comment and other items they serve so this review is strictly for the lobster roll. I will tell you the clam chowder was super popular and people were coming back for seconds. I felt the roll was reasonable given the amount of lobster meat. At first I was like this is a tiny roll but when you really take a look at it, it was less bread and more just gorgeous pieces of tender meat. The lobster was super tender, and the bun soft and the perfect addition. I probably could've eaten 10 of these. So yummy. The Cousins Maine Lobster food truck was in Bay Ridge and I just had to give it a try since we never seem to be on the same schedule on its previous visits. Historically speaking, while I've long heard of this delicacy I never had tried a lobster roll before today. The menu had quite a few tasty sounding options but it was time to clear up this oversight and so order one I did. The truck itself is black and has enough signage to know what they are serving up and the prices. They also line out what their social media apps are because that it what's done nowadays. So the lobster roll was priced at $25 but you can pay with your mobile if you don't have surplus cash on hand and I did that since this was a spur of the moment notion. As it was getting windy and cooler than it was when I ventured out I decided to take this home with me. Upon opening up the roll I saw that it did have quite a bit of lobster and since this is an expensive dining option, it kind of justifies the price. It's not too big though and also includes a lemon for those who like the lemon juice on their lobster. I ate this rather quickly and felt it could have used some kind of signature sauce. Though I had plenty of these things in my cabinet, I wanted my first try to be as authentic as it was intended. Overall this didn't disappoint but I am probably not going to be a repeat customer more out of financials at the moment. $25 can go a long way as opposed to a single small lobster roll and while I did like it and can recommend you visiting this food truck if you see it, I can safely say that this was one and done for me. I've followed their story since shark tank and was super excited to find this food truck at a local Jersey City event. They have a small menu of lobster items as expected, but they did have lobster grilled cheese, which is two of my favorite things so I opted for that. For the price of $18, I felt like it was a good amount of lobster and super flavorful. I wanted to get a second one but was too stuffed at that point from all the food from the night. It's a food truck; so it's almost impossible to check in unless you're in Wayne New Jersey or parts of Connecticut. They have an app that you can use to find out where they will be next. It seems a little pricey, considering it's a food truck, but you do get your moneys worth. No surimi here. It's all whole chunks of claw and leg meat in the lobster roll. See photo. Ambience? They had a truck sitting outside of the Trader Joe's in Millburn, so popped over to see what we could try. Clam chowder was on the watery end and didn't have too much clam. Lobster Bisque wasn't as good as the trader Joe's version, although it did have a claw in it. Connecticut style was warm with butter and lemon, which was okay but the bread was on the weak side. And not all that warm. Maine style was cold with mayo but the mayo only made its way halfway through (One of the few times I can say they don't have enough mayo in America). Both lobster rolls were a little over $20 and were filled with crab meat from the claw but no tail meat all. Is it worth it? For me, no. I've had better, richer soups even from Trader Joe's right there, and the bread disappointed for me on the rolls. Legal Seafood in the Short Hills Mall does a better job in my opinion. For more than $60 bucks all-in, I would recommend going somewhere else. Also I don't appreciate that the tip defaults to 18%, definitely not worth it. read more

Just happened to stumble upon this great food truck. We were driving along 23 S. when I saw a black colored food truck. It was Cousins Maine Lobster. We stopped to pick up a Connecticut lobster roll- Cost $18.95. This lobster roll was one of the best! There were quite a few people waiting to pick up lobster rolls and other lobster goods. The food truck menu included lobster bisque, clam chowder, shrimp and lobster tacos, Lobster grilled cheese, Lobster and Chowder tots and Lobster Tail! We asked the woman how long they've been at this location. She told me they were leaving after 7 PM tonight. After that, they would be going down to the Trenton/Philadelphia area. The woman told me that Cousins is a franchise. I did notice that Shark Tank appeared to have some association with Cousins. Anyway, if anyone has a chance to try Cousins Maine Lobster truck, you're in for a wonderful treat! read more

This place is a RIP OFF! 3 lobster tacos with mostly cubed tomatoes. Still wondering where the lobster went and if what was there was actually real or imitation. I must say, I was really disappointed. Have seen this company on Shark Tank and never had to chance to try it before today. The food truck was at a local brewery and we stood outside in the rain for 15 minutes to try their offerings. My wife and I had the lobster roll. Cost is $49 for 2 tiny rolls served on a hot dog roll. Mine went down in 4 or 5 bites. I won't say it tasted bad but definitely left a bad taste in my mouth because you feel almost ripped off like you do paying $14 for a beer at a football game. At least give me a reason to come back again. Nope, sorry, you only get one chance at a first impression and I wasn't impressed. Been there, done that. I will never eat their food again. read more

Overpriced for what they offer. NE chowder was watery, runny, with not a clam to be found. Lobster roll was amply filled, but with claw meat only. For $20 they could have at least included some of the tail , I guess they do something else with the tails. Rolls are simply cheap hot dog buns. Overrated. Lobster was hard and rubbery. Ample amount of lobster. Roll was grilled and buttery. Lobster had barely any butter on it. Bisque was clearly made with a roux-which is not my preference.
