2/11/2014 I tried the Chicken Enchiladas and the Spanish Rice. The taste was bad, the quality was awful. The Enchiladas were drenched in sour cream and soggy. The Spanish Rice was overcooked and mushy. Nothing flavorful about the Enchiladas or the Rice. Fat was still on the chicken in my food. I could make a box of Rice a Roni that tastes better than the rice I had here. Wouldn't even feed this food to my dog. I don't know if it was the staff that night or what, but this place did not even come close to what they claim to be. If anyone would drive miles just to eat here, they'd be coming a long way to be disappointed. read more

We have been here twice. It is a decent alternative to the same old chains and a definite step up from some of the locally run places that have fallen short. They have some interesting meal choices and we (thankfully) have not run into some of the quality issues that others have noted. read more

It took them over 45 minutes to get us our food, our soup was cold as well and it then took an additional 15 minutes for them to remake the soup when it was evidentially microwaved. The servers were doing nothing to assist the process either and were relatively rude to me and my family. The food was also abysmal. At the end of the meal we were so fed up we asked for them to get a togo box for some of the stuff in our meal, the waiter took it back and after 10 minutes of waiting for what seemed like an easy task we went and asked what happened. The server, as well as several other employees then began to argue about the food we were missing. All in all it was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

Normally. I love this place. But it must be under some new management & employment. The past month, the food quality and the counter staff have declined. The past few times I have been in there, it has taken over 15 minutes to put together my ONE entree (1/4 white with 2 sides) and this last time, the girl at the counter had no interest in being friendly or fast. She left my food in the window for a good 8-10 minutes. I'm really hoping this has just been a bad few visits and it's not completely how things are now. I really do love the food, when it's not cold & dry. It just feels like the staff doesn't really care about their customers or the food their making. The twice baked mashed potatoes were so good! But the chicken was pink and cold. Things didn't change after going twice, so if I were to go, it'd be just for the mashed potatoes. For the chicken, I'd go to Boston Market or Chicken Express. Or Chick-Fil-A. read more

We usually love Cowboy Chicken but not this location. I've given this location 3 tries and there was something wrong each time. Either the food is almost always over cooked (burned) or under cooked (pink chicken) . The last time we went, the chicken was undercooked and had it throw most of it away , I wasn't going to risk getting sick and it was too late to go back for a piece of chicken. They also forgot the rolls for each of our orders and they weren't even busy. I don't get it because the location on Greenville In Dallas, always delivers! This one is lacking so much. I'd rather just pick up a cooked chicken from Walmart or Kroger. At least those are well cooked with plenty of flavor. I will not be going back to this cowboy chicken. read more

A HUGE waste of money!!! My husband and ordered two chicken sandwiches and a whole chicken. The chicken was like a Sams club on their worst day, the sandwiches were dry, the fries( all 11 of them) were half burnt but the okra was pretty good. We ate most of ONE sandwich, the okra, 3 fries, one leg off the chicken (which we brought home for our girls) and the rest of the 27.00 went in the trash. Had we not been starving, 45 minutes from home and tired after a long day of tornado clean up, I would have demanded money back just by looking at it. They should have at least added the side of bbq sauce as advertised to drown out the dryness. read more

Have eaten at this location more times than I can count over the past 2 years with my wife and kids. Service has ALWAYS been excellent. The rotisserie chicken and enchiladas are always great, but the sides are more hit or miss - We love the corn fritters and macaroni, but the fried okra and green beans did not impress. We have also had the cobbler with ice cream several times and it has always been delicious. Family meal menu options are a win and my kids love running to the back when we first arrive to watch the chicken fryers cook over the fire. read more

I ordered 2 meals to be delivered to my home. After taking a shower I opened the bag to sadly find one meal. When I called to request they deliver the 2nd meal I paid for I was informed that the delivery driver was gone (9pm) and they could only offer a credit. I ended up halfing my meal with my spouse for dinner. Bland! read more

I love this place. The chicken and enchiladas are awesome, but even better are the sides. Creamed spinach, fried okra, and mac n cheese are yummy. The service is a bit amateur, but I believe the prices make up for that...just check your order if you're getting it to go. My wife and I ate at the Forney location on 3/31/2016. This was not our first visit at this location and this is not the first time I have been EXTREMELY DISAPOINTED in the food quality that was served to us. We both ordered the 3 piece dark meal. The chicken was WAY BELOW PAR. It was dry and over cooked and it was as though it was left over from 2 days before and reheated. This was not the 1st time our chicken was this way. And the portions were very small. On previous occasions I have returned the food and brought it to the attention of the on duty manager. They tried correct the issue with another plate. The chicken was cooked a little better portion size was smaller that the one I had taken to them. The managers response was "They are ONLY 3 pound whole chickens". Ok... I am not asking for a butter ball turkey leg but dang at least give me something besides bones and skin. You might ask why do I continue to go back. The wife likes it and I am one of those people that will give a place a 2nd and 3rd chance. I think my wife has finally seen the light and we will not be returning. read more
