Ordered on UberEats. They offered a Buy One get One deal. When you do this, both orders are to be identical. Yet, as advertised by this business, no bread was included. The sauce selected for the order was not fulfilled either. One comeback sauce was delivered. We received a tower of 4 regular sauce though. Again, not the selection we made upon placing the order. Best Dickey's Barbecue Pit in East Dallas/Mesquite. My family always goes out of their way to come eat here even if there's another Dickey's close to our house. They provide quality food on a consistent basis. Always top notch for a Dickey's. Great for family outings especially with young kids because they have complimentary ice cream (FREE ). Self serve so you pick how much you want of each side. And even though they weigh the meat like every other DBP, I somehow always get more than other locations (and at a cheaper price too)! This location has been here for years. So it's not in the best condition but the staff clean it regularly and are alway so kind and helpful. They always make you feel welcomed. Fairly close to Town East Mall. Will go again! Today's special was a Chicken plate with 2 sides for $8.99. A great deal!! read more

This location is in a older part of Mesquite off I-30, there is road construction all around to get here. Walked in the aroma was awesome, love that smokey smell. No one here of coarse, l begin to think its me. The cooks suggestion the beef plate, l choose the 2 meat with 2 sides instead. The macaroni and cheese typical taste, the stuffed mash potatoes very delicious. The sausage was very flavorful and good. The top 2 pieces was very good, but the rest was tender but dry and almost warm tasting. The rolls were hot and fresh, no butter. Place was very clean all tables cleared and stocked for customers. While l was here, 5 more groups came in. This makes no sense. When you check in here Dickey's or Yelp offers you a free ice cream coupon to use on next visit when you make a purchase. Went for lunch to go . Tuesday's special was 2 meat and 2 sides with a roll . $13.99 . Got sliced brisket and sausage ,fried okra, and loaded baked potato salad . The meat was tender and the sausage had the right amount of smoke on it both were tasty . The baked potato salad was good and the fried okra was crisp and a good helping . I've eaten at many Dickey's throughout the metroplex for decades. This was by far the worst. I certainly don't mind paying 9.00 for a sandwich if it's made properly. Since I often order the same one, I am well aware of how it should be made. This one lacked about 20% of the typical amount of meat. They usually weigh it to be sure they're not screwing the customer but they refrained today. The bun is supposed to be toasted and I really like them toasted. Their bun toaster wasn't even turned on so they didn't bother. They just put them on the grill for 30 seconds but it wasn't even remotely close to the same. The staff was reasonably courteous, so that's a plus. I'm actually surprised that they were being nice considering that their AC wasn't working or at least was turned up to what felt like 83 degrees. It was also not working earlier this month. I suppose they keep it turned up so that nobody feels welcome to dine in and they won't be bothered with having to bus the tables. Lastly, they now keep the BBQ sauce under lock and key. They place all the other condiments out in individual containers to help avoid the spread of diseases and that's great but why don't they put out BBQ sauce for their dine-in customers? This was definitely far from worth the money. Do yourselves a favor and take the drive under 635 to Spring Creek. Their AC works and their food is absolutely consistently better than this. read more

I was craving barbecue tonight. I came here definition for closing ordered the three meat platter which came with two sides breast and drink was extra. Sausage, brisket, and the ribs where's and my two sides for BBQ beans and pasta salad. The ribs was still moist and tender. The sausage was the perfect mixed with spice and heat. The brisket was very tender and falling apart though it was a bit dry. I believe it was that it was the last of the brisket and that it sat in the heat lamp too long. All in all, all the meat was flavorful and didn't need any sauce though the sauce enhanced the meat. My two sides were great and made me wish I had a bigger portion. I ordered off the website. They inundate my email with 3+ messages a week. They listed a 6 rib plate dinner on their menu with 2 sides, roll- about $18. It was for pickup at the Gus Thomasson location. I payed by credit card to the website. When I got home, there were 4 ribs in the order. 4 ribs and beans for $18. I called back to the store and the person who answered said they were a franchisee and only gave 4 ribs on the 6 rib dinner plate. She said corporate offices knew this. I am furious. I told her that amounted to false advertising and stealing. She said call the corporate office to complain. I have submitted a complaint to the corporate site to point out how deceptive this is. I know Dickie's isn't Franklins or ever going to make Tx monthly's top 50 list, but usually dickies delivers a decent meal, with a short wait at a reasonable price. This location in particular has been going gradually downhill for the last couple years though. Keep in mind I eat at several dickies locations around Texas when working so I hold them all to the same standard since its a true chain place, and the original store on henderson in dallas sets the bar. Today was one of the worst bbq sandwiches ive had in a while. It wasnt so bad id call it pot roast, but it was somewhere around an arby's beef sandwich and I dont mean that in a good way. 1. The brisket. It was DRY. I think i set a personal record for amount of sauce used to consume a sandwich. It wasnt tough thankfully. The flavor was mediocre. Before I drown it in sauce, you could barely tell it was smoked, and bark was almost non existent. It just had zero flavor. Very disappointing. My sandwich meat was cut from the lean end but even for lean, this was exceptionally off the scale of dry. I also didnt want lean(see service comments below) to begin with. 2. The meat slicer. When you cut meat at a bbq joint, you should cut what the customer asks you. Thats the point of the little window and interaction with person slicing last time i checked. When i say id like a sandwich, cut from the moist/ends and point to the back end of the brisket, do not acknowledge me and then slice from the lean anyway. Why even ask? When i told him thats not what i wanted he just returned with "brisket sandwich right?".. ugh. I suspect he may be on autopilot or not have as good of a grasp on english as a counter person should have, but i can only judge by what he did and that was what he wanted, not what i asked. I just took the sandwich because it was pretty clear he didn't understand what i wanted. The sides were on point despite everything else, but the tea was less than stellar too. It had a sour taste that wanst "fresh".. the free ice cream was free, cold and sweet, so cant complain there either. read more

I'm giving 5 stars because I have never walked into a restaurant 10 minutes before closing and be treated as if they just opened. They did not care at all and were so nice! This Dickey's quality and quantity of food has gone down tremendously. The ribs were dry, tough and had no "BBQ" taste at all. The chopped beef was also tasteLESS. I love that they have a drive-through!!! These are my favs and what I recommend on their menu. Pork & Tangler tater. Hubby's fav! It's a baked potato with fried onions and chopped pork Marinated Chicken breast. Very Tender and tasty. Sliced beef Brisket. Tender! Cucumber salad. Fresh! BBQ beans. My fav of any BBQ franchise. Fried onion tanglers. Also good on a tater. Green beans. Sweet tea. Usually get a gallon to go. Rolls. These are gone before I get home from the drive through. I have been in Dallas for several years and when I first tried Dickey's ( another location in North Dallas) I was not impressed. However, I have recently started eating here again and I am very impressed. I don't know how they get their chicken as tender as they do but it is probably one of the best things that they offer. I also must say that their sausage and ribs( which practically fall off the bone) are great as well. In regards to their sides, I am not a coleslaw type of a person, so I can not give an opinion on that since I have never tasted it. I have been eating at Dickey's BBQ located at 3700 Gus Thomasson Rd, Mesquite, TX 75150 (Towne Crossing) for over 40 years ever since it opened. The building was first opened and used as a Roy Rogers Roast Beef Sandwich Restaurant when they closed Dickey's opened up there and they have never disappoint me. Dickey's has set the standard in BBQ many many years ago. They have the best melt-in-your-mouth Beef Brisket, Pulled Pork and Polish Kielbasa Sausage with a choice of three different Texas Style BBQ Sauces, some of the best in Texas. I will admit I like to mix them to get that just right taste, tangy with a touch of sweet and with a bit of heat. They've got very good sides as well including the best baked beans, fried okra plus a few unique ones like baked potato casserole that's amazing, I like to add extra butter, sour cream. cheese and chives. Service is always super fast and their staff is always smiling and friendly. I would give it 5 stars but I will admit the building is getting a little tired and could use a make over but that does not effect the food. read more
