stopped by around 8:40am on wednesday to a decent sized line. this cafe is at at a church, specifically w their drink bar in an outdoor plaza/lot. lots of benches and tables. there were only 2 workers were there but they were quite efficient!! waited around 5-8 mins, but drinks came out in less than 5. was worried i would be late to work bc the line took a while but it was fine. the worker that took our order was super welcoming and friendly! maple spice latte (7/10): this is *exactly* how i like my espresso, good strength but creamy w a full mouth feel with no bitterness (i fear la marzoccos are worth the hype). the maple and spice flavors are quite faint though, but i love that it isn't overly sweet. would come back to try their butterscotch latte (originally wanted this UNTIL i got excited & saw their fall menu..) and the tables seem like a great place to read or chat with friends.
I've heard raving things about cowboy coffee and decided to check them out. They're a small coffee cart behind the echo church and city sports gym but they have a big area to hangout or get some work done. Staff is super friendly and very patient as they do get busy depending on what day and time you show up. However drinks come out quick and they're very tasty. Probably one of the better PSLs I've had outside of Starbucks. Definitely give them a try, I hope they're able to get a store front someday.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally had the opportunity to! They're usually closed on Sundays but we got lucky. They had special hours and were open this past Sunday. There was a block party, so it was lively with people around. I ordered an iced Latte and added Strawberry Creamtop, which is seasonal. The strawberry creamtop was light, subtle, and not super sweet. After mixing it into the coffee, I couldn't really taste it. I wished there was just a little bit more creamtop.
The charcoal latte is back! I've been waiting months to have this drink. I like it iced with a vanilla cream top. The service here is great. The staff is so friendly and attentive. I like that they don't call out your drink order until ALL your drinks are ready (if you order multiples, of course).
I love this place - this review is overdue. It's located behind the church - keep driving to the back parking lot and you will see a big grassy/turf area with tables outside. This place is super dog friendly and has good WiFi - a good spot to get some work done. The employees are always super friendly. I love their matcha, it's my go to. However, I tried their charcoal latte today and was blown away. Tastes like an Oreo latte perfection.
I really wanted to try Cowboy Coffee for a while now and was really excited to go today. Unfortunately, it was not worth the drive out. Two stars because this is a very cute location and I think it makes for a cute outdoor cafe/picnic space. The staff was also very nice. It is just very unfortunate that the two drinks we ordered (a matcha latte with blueberry cold foam and the butterscotch latte) were both not to my liking. The matcha was extremely grainy and had a very odd flavor. I don't recommend if you enjoy a strong matcha with smooth flavor and texture. The latte on the other hand was just way too milky for my liking. I can see someone liking it if they like super milky and mellow coffees and if that's you, I recommend that one.
I've only been once and it was a super hot day, so I couldn't enjoy the outdoor space with my kids. I was hoping to try their pastries; unfortunately, the sign said no pastries. Hopefully I can return again and relax with the kids! I liked my drink and I appreciate how they can adjust the sweetness. They did 1/3 the regular sugar and it was just right. One suggestion is to offer reduced fat milk. Otherwise, great spot!
Super happy cowboy coffee opened back up again! I discovered this place through social media because they went viral for their blueberry cold foam, and I will say it's definitely worth the hype! The blueberry is not artificial, and its very light , not super sweet flavor that pairs deliciously with their matcha or lattes. I would recommend adding vanilla syrup to the latte and then adding any of their cold foams since the foam doesn't have much sweetness to it. They have a seasonal cream top which makes me want to come back to try every season! Given that it's an outdoor coffee cart, their drinks are high quality and always consistent. The baristas are super sweet and always helpful when I ask any questions or needed suggestions. There is plenty of outdoor seating, some that have umbrellas. Parking is super easy as there is plenty of spots.
Cute outdoor coffee cart and love their blueberry cream. Got the vanilla latte while some friends got the regular latte and a matcha, all with the blueberry cream, and all huge fans. Overall great espresso flavor and love how complimentary and real the blueberry taste is to all the drinks. Area has super easy parking and lots of seating, but will get toasty on a hot day! Will be coming back because I saw that pistachio cream.... Great staff though and the owners are so sweet, support small businesses!
I've been wanting to try this place because of the reviews but I was disappointed. They're located close to the city sports gym and actually have a good amount of parking. There's plenty of outdoor sitting which is nice. It is a table outside from where you are ordering and picking up your order. After the person in front of me placed their order I was patiently waiting for the guy to take mines. He asked me to wait for awhile long enough for a huge line to form behind me. He seemed nice and no small talk until after I placed my order. Not sure if he was new but he seemed uncomfortable taking my order. It also took awhile for me to get my order since there was only 1 person making the drinks. I also had to cap my own drinks because of how busy they were. I got the butterscotch latte and the Matcha latte with blueberry cream top. First off, for the butterscotch latte it is very plain. Barely has any butterscotch flavoring in it. It's not bad but not good either. Nothing about it stands out. Next the other drink I had higher hopes for, the matcha latte with blueberry cream top. Unfortunately the cream top was more like liquid and barely any was on there. The cream top looked more white than it did blue/purple which is strange because of the other photos on here which is very misleading. Tldr: the drinks are ok but nothing unique/outstanding about them in terms of flavor. They should definitely hire more people as well for the amount of customers they have.
I really want to give this place five stars because the drinks are pretty good and the staff is nice, but I have to knock off a star because it's too pricey (an iced matcha latte with cream top is $8.50) for not having a proper storefront and only offering outdoor seating. The customer seating area feels unfinished. There is some outdoor furniture, non-cushioned seats, and some benches. There's not enough shade, and only some of the tables have umbrellas. I wouldn't mind the setting if the drinks were slightly cheaper. I'll grab a drink when I'm in the area, but I would never meet up with a friend here or go out of my way to come here. If you do come here, I recommend the iced matcha latte ($7.50) with cream top (+$1.00). It's silky and smooth (no clumps, yay!) and has a nice, balanced flavor.
Truly a favorite spot of mine for coffee or matcha. I typically order the matcha latte with the seasonal cream top. It's currently strawberry! The staff is always friendly and speedy. They've added umbrellas to every seating area now, so you can easily sit out and enjoy your drinks on a hot day. In case it's not clear from the other photos, this is an exclusively outdoor space! Very family and pet friendly.

Cowboy Coffee is one of my new favorite coffee shops. They normally operate outdoors, behind a local church. Plenty of parking and a few tables with seating. I like how it's located outdoors, it gives me a reason to touch some grass on the weekends (literally lol). Most recently I ordered a Matcha Latte w/ Pistachio Cream Top and it was GOOD. All of the flavors for their cream tops are GOOD. One of their most popular drinks is the matcha latte with blueberry cream top, or any of their nitro brews. The baristas seem very nice and it was a bit busy the last time I visited (about a 10-15 minute line to order). Glad to see them getting some more popularity. Will definitely be back! read more
Props to fellow Yelper Mary A for her photos of Cowboy Coffee! They piqued my interest in this 6 month old outdoor coffee shop. Tucked behind a daycare center and church, the space is inviting, relaxing, and perfect when the weather warms up. The staff here, including Bear (dog), are very friendly and outgoing. The Matcha Latte with Blueberry cold foam and oat milk is unique and very good tasting. Their pastries are sourced from Voyager Coffee so it's a no brainer regarding the quality, taste, etc. Bravo to the entrepreneurs for this spot. It's a tough market out there, but I have not doubts regarding their success. read more
I've seen this spot a few times on TikTok, finally got to try. ATMOSPHERE: This is located in the parking lot of a church with some grass and just a few tables! Luckily it was nice outside when we went, so we sat at the tables outside for a bit. If the weather was cloudier, I'd recommend just taking this to go, as there's not a real storefront. Visited on a Saturday at 11am and it was PACKED! SERVICE: Despite the long line, service was great, from joining the line to drink in hand, we only waited about 15 minutes. FOOD: My friend tried their raspberry oat bar. She enjoyed it, a bit too sweet for me. There weren't any other pastries available so I assume they sell out quickly in the morning. DRINKS: I really liked the cream tops. Was hoping that the lavender was available but they rotate flavors throughout the seasons. I opted for the blueberry cream top matcha and was very pleased! PRICE: Definitely on the pricier side, with my matcha coming out to $8 before tax + tip. Comparable for the area. I'd definitely come back if I'm stopping by the area and try a different cream top! read more
What a cute coffee shop for those warmer California days! Grabbed a drink here a couple weekends ago when we had that unseasonably warm Saturday and it was much needed after all the rain. The vibes were great, parking was plenty, and the employees were really nice. I got an iced matcha latte with their seasonal pistachio cream foam and I'm glad I did! The matcha was delicious and the pistachio cream was so unique. My biggest recommendation would be more seating or some beanbag chairs. Something comfy for those days you want to sit and read in the sun! Understandably, it's a small shop behind the school (?) so it's not always feasible. This is the perfect spot to grab a good cup of coffee and hang out when the weather's nice-Most coffee shops nowadays are super crowded, so definitely love all of the open space here! It's dog-friendly as well, with lots of available parking. We ordered an Iced Butterscotch Latte and an Iced Rum Latte topped with their seasonal Pistachio cream and both were 5/5. I regret not getting the Pistachio cream on the Butterscotch Latte, will definitely have to try again if it's still in season! FYI, the drinks were definitely on the sweeter side, but that's my personal preference! read more
Love this spot! I've recently been on a matcha binge, so I've been exploring different shops that offer matcha-based drinks. This spot caught my eye as they offer cream topped drinks, such as blueberry, vanilla, and seasonal cream topped drinks. Seeing blueberry cream topped matcha drinks sounded interesting to try, so off I went! When driving up to the location, I'm happy they had giant banners on the street because you could easily miss it! Their driveway is next to the Omescape escape room driveway, but if you enter the Omescape driveway, the parking lot connects to Cowboy Coffee's parking lot. The setup is nothing more than a coffee stand with a few tables outside. Really great for getting some sunshine, but hopefully they have some umbrellas for the warmer summer months! The owners who run the cart are super friendly and kind. Now for the matcha! I ordered the matcha latte with blueberry cream, and the combination was so yummy! Matcha can be incredibly earthy, so the richness from the milk and blueberry cream really balanced it out and blended well with the matcha. I came back a second time and got the matchacano with blueberry cream, and I found that is my preferred preference. Not too rich like the matcha latte, and the blueberry cream provided just enough sweetness to balance out the matcha. One of my favorite matcha drinks so far! read more

Coffee: 4 out of 5 WOW! These folks do coffee well! My coworkers are regulars here and they love it. I didn't believe the hype until I tried it. My coworkers typically get the butterscotch vanilla but I opted for the rum & vanilla. Service: 5 out of 5 Great service & the baristas know their products! Environment: 4 out 5 Pop up outdoor situation. It's tucked away behind a building next to the City Sports. A few seats behind a building. Hopefully they do continue to do well so they have a cafe soon. Overall: 4.25 out 5 Oh I'll be back for sure!! Also they provide a discount for first responders in uniform. This is such a cute little coffee shop tucked away, it is outdoors when the weather is nice with a turf patio seating area. Loved their blueberry matcha, the cream too was very flavorful but it is quite sweet. The scone was great, I wish I cam earlier to try their other pastries they were almost all sold out. read more
Right next to echo church and omescape! The baristas are super friendly and they even have glazed Stan's donuts on saturdays We got the butterscotch latte and vanilla rum latte. Flavors were on point and love how the menu has diff options. Loved the variety of pastries, would love to try their scones next! Will definitely be coming back to try their blueberry cream top. Bonus points is they're close by downtown sunnyvale, so you can swing by farmers market after! read more

I'd been seeing a lot of hype around Cowboy Coffee and finally went to try it out. It was so tucked away that at first, I wasn't sure I was in the right place. The space was entirely outdoors - a large grassy area with picnic tables. I went up to the counter to order, and barely had to wait in line. They had a few specialty coffee options, but I chose the Blueberry Creamtop Flash Brew. I was hoping the Blueberry Creamtop would be a little larger, but it tasted fantastic. The Flash Brew itself was incredibly strong - I was buzzing for the rest of the day! Overall, I really liked this place - would return to try more items. read more

Cowboy Coffee is an outdoor pop-up cafe. The matcha latte with blueberry cold foam was lightly sweetened and didn't taste artificial. I saw a barista using Naoki matcha powder and whisking the matcha by hand. Their raspberry oat bar was delicious too. It's perfectly jammy with a light crispy texture. I want to try more of their pastries and coffee next time! read more

I've had my eye on this coffee spot for a while but waited for a warm day to visit since it's strictly outdoors. Tucked behind City Sports and next to KinderCare, this place feels like its own little hideaway. Even though it's a bit hidden, I love the private vibe. There's plenty of parking and a spacious setup with string lights, turf, faux plants, and wooden tables. The atmosphere was perfect, especially with the music they had playing. I came on a Friday morning, and it wasn't too busy. We ordered Butterscotch lattes--one with whole milk and one with almond milk. Both were delicious, but the butterscotch flavor came through stronger with the whole milk. My only regret? Not trying it with vanilla foam, which I think would've been better. I also spotted their matcha latte with blueberry cold foam on the menu, but I'll save that for next time--it's definitely on my list! The baristas were so friendly and accommodating. One even asked what we were up to and had a little chat with us about the latest season of Squid Games. It's those small interactions that makes a place memorable. Mark my words--I'll be back for that matcha with blueberry cold foam!!!! read more
This location is next to a day care and gym so I was a bit lost when I put it in the GPS! I love that it's a bit secluded, they have some seating outside and they play country music! I got the blueberry cream top on matcha latte and it's 10/10. I'm so glad I tried it since they typically close at 2pm! Cute little coffee shop tucked inside a larger building. One thing to note: if you're visiting for the first time, make sure to use the front entrance. My GPS took me to the back near the children's daycare, which was a bit confusing. The service was very fast, and the baristas were friendly and efficient. I ordered the butterscotch latte with vanilla cold foam on top. I enjoy sweeter coffee drinks, but unfortunately, this one wasn't for me. It tasted mostly like milk and syrup, and I could barely taste any espresso. It also didn't have much of a butterscotch flavor and came across more like a standard vanilla latte. For a drink that cost a little over $8, I was expecting a stronger coffee flavor and a more balanced taste. I was especially surprised because the shop has nearly perfect five-star reviews, so my expectations were quite high. While the service was great, I left feeling disappointed with the coffee itself. read more
A good spot for coffee and hanging out in the morning. There's room for kids to run around and for dogs to hang out. Some tables have umbrellas and there was adequate seating when I got here around 8am on a weekday. Coffee prices seem reasonable. read more

Cute new coffeeshop addition to Sunnyvale! Coffee: Coffee was solid. I got their special which was orange blossom; it was good but a little too sweet. They made beautiful latte art. ambiance: I came on a gloomy wet day but the area looked like it would be awesome to sit outside on a sunny day. Keep in mind the coffee shop is in the back of echo church so you have to drive around the side till you see it. Food: They were out of the guava pastries (that other reviews say are really good) when I went around 10:30am. they had some others that didn't strike my fancy or look particularly good (regular croissant). Overall, I would come back and get here earlier to try some of the other pastries. read more

Who knew there was a local open air coffee spot behind Echo Church in Sunnyvale? They've been open since end of August just a few buildings down from Panera & City Sports. I'm not a coffee drinker but I spotted iced blueberry cold foam cream topped matcha lattes and was sold! I also appreciate how sugar level can be adjusted. They typically add 30g of their brown sugar simple syrup to the made to order whisked matcha but I ask for 5g. We ask for oat milk too! Not only are the drinks delicious, but the customer service and relaxing ambiance are top notch. What I'd give to just chill on one of their wooden chairs and savor my drink while basking in the sunlight instead of rushing back to work. Shout out to employees Caleb, Cassie, & Camille! Y'all are awesome! Friends and I always return for: *Iced Blueberry Foam Matcha *Masala Chai Their baked goods are tasty as well. We've ordered: *Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaf *Blueberry Scone *Raspberry Oat Bar *Chocolate Croissant Excellent way to support local and get your caffeine fix! Vibes, ambiance, and service: 5/5. Drinks 4/5. Stopped by on a Saturday noon. A good amount of people were there, but parking was plentiful and there were 5-6 ish tables. The employees were super friendly and welcoming! The vibes were immaculate and I love their concept of being an outdoor booth on a grassy area. I got a matcha latte with blueberry foam. The matcha latte itself was a tad watered down and could've used stronger matcha taste in my opinion, but the blueberry foam was delicious and refreshing! I also got the chocolate croissant which was pretty good and quite flaky. Not my drink but I tried some of the butterscotch latte with vanilla foam and it was a good balance of coffee taste and sweetness. My friend did say it tasted burnt towards the end though. I've been hearing all the hype about the blueberry cream top matcha latte and needed to try for myself, and tbh I was underwhelmed :P I do think the blueberry cream top is unique since no other places really have that flavor but it didn't necessarily wow me. The blueberry cream itself wasn't too thick and so by the time I got half way through my drink, I couldn't taste the flavor as much :/ The lawn is such a cute spot to hang out at though!! We waited 30 mins on a Saturday afternoon for our two drinks. It's located behind Echo church and there are multiple tables (some with umbrellas and some without) and there's also 2 blue benches near the playground under a shaded area to sit at. I also saw some girlies meet up for a book club here so it's def a nice place to have a little picnic too! read more
I've been wanting to come here for awhile! I got a mocha which was sooo good. Not too sweet, and had a natural chocolatey taste to it. The butterscotch was a bit nutty, wasn't my preferred flavor. Although it's an outdoor coffee place, they had plenty of seating and it was a nice place to hang out with plenty of parking! The staff were all friendly as well. Would come back for sure! read more

As a girl on matcha TikTok/Instagram Reels, Cowboy Coffee has popped up on my feed quite a few times. I visited on a Saturday afternoon since they're not open on Sundays. There was a bit of a line, but the line moved quickly. The location was an unexpected spot in a grassy area in an elementary school parking lot and almost looked like a pop-up cafe. It was a bright sunny day and the grassy area was nice and open which I liked. I ordered a matcha latte with blueberry cold foam with less sugar and my boyfriend got a butterscotch latte. The drinks came out relatively good quickly and the matcha drink came out so pretty with the purple foam at the top! I loved the sweetness blueberry cold foam and it kind of resembled the yogurt I grew up eating as a kid in the plastic pouches. So nostalgic! The matcha itself wasn't the highest quality and was slightly grainy, but I think for this type of drink where the blueberry flavor overpowers it anyway, it was okay that it wasn't the highest quality. I could subtly taste the tea flavor overpowers the blueberry. I tried both sipping my matcha and mixing the blueberry cold foam in and loved it both ways. Even though I got it less sweet, the drink was still pretty sweet. I thought the drink was creative and delicious, but if you're coming for a high-quality matcha, I think there are other places in San Jose that have better matcha. I tried some of the butterscotch coffee and I must admit that we aren't big coffee drinkers, but just wanted to try it. The drink was just what I would expect. It tasted like regular coffee with a hint of butterscotch, but it didn't wow us. I thought it could've used more butterscotch flavor. Prices were standard/maybe a little on the expensive side for cafes nowadays. It was $14.19 for 2 drinks (excluding tip). Service was good and the cafe was a nice spot to hang out. Coming here was a bit out of the way for me, but I'm glad I tried it. read more

after seeing this place all over instagram we decided to try it! we've been here a few times before and they were really good. although today the vanilla cream top tasted different. it tasted more like cereal than it did vanilla. my friend also got the matcha latte with lavender cream top, she said the lavender was overpowering the matcha the employees were really sweet and the vibe of the entire place was cool ! easy parking too if it's not crowded read more

I've been wanting to try Cowboy Coffee after coming across them on IG, so I finally got to stop by. They're located in the back of Echo Church. There's plenty of free parking, outdoor seating & WiFi. They have a wide variety of drinks to choose from and some yummy baked goods! I tried the chocolate chip cookie & the corn empanada and it did not disappoint. The cookie was so soft and chewy with just the right amount of sweetness & the corn empanada had such a nice crisp and the filling was cream cheese, corn & some jalapeños. As for the coffee, we ordered the Butterscotch Latte w/ Vanilla Top & Vanilla Latte w/ Blueberry Top. The Blueberry was sooo fresh and vibrant. It tasted like a blueberry muffin. The Butterscotch Latte w/ the Vanilla top was literally perfect. The drinks aren't overly sweet & was the perfect drink to sip on during a nice sunny day. They were also soooo nice. A cute local gem! We were surprised to find this coffee stand so close to our house and had to give it a try! Owners are super friendly and kind. They have two cute dogs just lounging nearby; both were friendly and well behaved. Plenty of outdoor seating and tables with shade covers. It's behind Echo church and next to a daycare so the ambiance is very relaxed and casual. We ordered a decaf pourover and an iced matcha latte. Both were excellent. My husband said it was one of the best decaf pour overs he's ever had and my matcha latte tasted strong and earthy. Just sweet enough but not overly filled with sugar. It was perfect. We'll definitely be back! Note they're closed on Sundays and the parking lot is usually full during that Sunday morning anyway read more

Yippie ki-yay coffee lovers! Cowboy Coffee rustles up some great coffee and good tunes! Right now it's an outdoor pop up at Echo Church (they head indoors in inclement weather). I heard from the owner, Caleb, they have plans to open a brick and mortar shop in San Jose (border of Campbell) at Hamilton and San Tomas Aquinas. The coffee is great, the matcha lattes are Instagram worthy, the staff are super nice, and the outdoor space is puppy friendly, a big plus for us. The country music, interspersed with other genres, is an ol' hootenanny! There's limited food options (mostly pastries, scones, brownies, and cookies). The baller move is to stop by Stan's Donuts on Homestead or In-N-Out in Sunnyvale, grab your food to go and picnic at Cowboy Coffee! read more

My handy dandy Yelp app popped up this coffee shop as a new spot to check out. Early am before a meeting I was close by to check it out. GPS brought me close to the area where they had Fry's electronics a ton of years ago. I drove into what looked like industrial buildings parking lot but there was a ton of signage for Cowboy coffee as you enter and park. It's an outdoor set up with cute tables, plants, and can't remember if the grass is fake but it's a vibe. The coffee set up is simple. Cashier to one end. On the other is the coffee machine prep area. I asked the cashier if the buterscotch latte was too sweet and he noted their drinks are balanced in sweetness so I ordered it. The lady making the coffee was pumping out orders quickly so my order was ready in not time. My drink was true to the butterscotch flavor and not artificial tasting. I enjoyed it throughly. My only downfall was a lot of the coffee got caught on the plastic lid which led to it spilling on my white shirt so that wasn't fun. The coffee itself was great. The interactions with the cashier and the lady making coffee were friendly. The space is cute with tables to sit in open air. Will return and try something new. read more

This cafe has a very cute setup outside and nice vibes to it. Good amount of seating for working/studying or hanging out. Came here to try the matcha latte with the blueberry cream top since I heard such good things about it through friends and social media. The people were right..... their blueberry cream top with the matcha is just chefs kiss. It's such a good combination! The flavors pair so perfectly. Definitely can't wait to come back to try their butterscotch latte and other unique flavors they offer! read more
Very consistent drinks from Cowboy Coffee. Easy to find and have plenty of standing room as they are located outside with a couple of places to sit. The staff are super friendly and answer all the questions you have about drinks and pastries. Definitely caught myself trying to find people to go on coffee runs with me so I could try various creamtops -- definitely worth trying! read more

Outdoor coffee shop in Sunnyvale with outdoor seating and next to city sports. We came in at around 8:40am and waited for about 5-10 min to order. Drinks came out pretty fast- we got the butterscotch latte with vanilla cream top and cold brew with lavender cream top. I enjoyed the butterscotch latte but a bit too much cream top imo. The cold brew itself was very good but we were not a fan of the lavender cream top- it tasted almost like an air freshener? They have donuts from Stan donuts that were fresh and yummy. YIPPEE! Ok so I had to come back and give Cowboy another shot! I returned to try the vanilla oat latte again and it was much better, much stronger coffee taste! This time around I caved and decided to face my lactose intolerance head on and try the cream top. Ordered the vanilla cream top flash brew (sweetened with a bit of brown sugar simply syrup). Delicious, and incredibly refreshing on this very very hot day. Besides the drinks, and pastries (guava croissant is phenomenal) I love love the staff here. Caleb and his wife are the absolute sweetest and all the other ladies are so kind and so willing to help you find the right drink! It's a lovely spot to do work and I'm incredibly happy I came back to give it another shot. read more

It has been a month since I first found Cowboy and the quality still gets me! Today I got an ice vanilla latte with their seasonal lavender cold foam--no surprise, it was yummy. It paired nicely with their lavender lemon scone. I originally wanted decaf but their grinder was broken, so they very kindly gave me a lil discount. Being a pop up outside on a warm sunny morning was a nice way to start the work day. read more
