We were looking to stop in Wickenburg on our way home from Vegas and saw this BBQ restaurant come up on Yelp. It was later after lunch when we went in and it wasn't busy at all. The restaurant looks smaller from the outside but they have a decent amount of seating inside. Orders are taken at the counter and delivered to your table. For our meal, we got the BBQ platter with brisket and sides - potato salad, mac & cheese, and beans. Of the sides, I liked the beans the most followed by the potato salad, mac was not bad. The brisket was good with bbq sauce. They have a green chili cheddar cornbread available for purchase, but if the dinner came with a slice or two of bread, that would've been great. Overall, it was quite a pleasant meal with friendly service. We were given boxes for our leftovers along with sides of bbq sauce to take with us. If you're passing through, check them out! read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by this bbq place in Wickenburg. We thought it would be nice to take my Dad up to the area since none of us had been there in a while. Well, this BBQ did not disappoint. It's a charming place and the staff were so welcoming and provided help when looking at the menu. I ordered the Cholla bowl and man, great flavors and so filling. It's not typical at most bbq places out here, but if I could have taken it home, I would. I loved the combo of the pork with beans and cheese and then corn bread to finish it off. My husband got the brisket sandwich which was highly recommended. And that came with 2 large sides. He got the Cole slaw and potato salad. Both were tasty and not over powered with spices. He also added Mac and Cheese , which was so creamy! We stopped in here after a long day of driving trying to find a good meal rather then just fast food. Man, did this BBQ joint do the job! The food was amazing and well seasoned. Large portions for the price being BBQ. The lady who took our order and helped us was very welcoming and always had a smile on her face. I was in Wickenburg on business and needed some lunch before heading back to Phoenix. I looked up the highest rated restaurant in town and this place did not disappoint! Everyone working there was just the nicest, friendliest person. The woman who took my order was patient with me and I listened to her be just as patient with everyone after me. I got the High Desert Combo that she recommended to anyone who hasn't been there before. It's two slices of brisket, 4 ribs, and 1 large spicy sausage with 3 sides for $24. There's no way you can get that much food for that amount of money anywhere else. The building is small and hard to miss on the outside but the inside is super cute and looks like your grandma's kitchen. I will go back anytime! read more

Love this place! Glad we walked a little further to find this eclectic restaurant. The food was excellent - BBQ as good as when we lived in Nashville. I had to return to Wickenburg to try the barbecue haven't driven through and out of my window I smelled some great barbecue. Upon my visit, I was met with a friendly staff and a bustling kitchen. Anyone who has read some of my other reviews knows I love smoked meats. I have had it all over the country, some good some not so good. I'm happy to say this place is in the very good category. We were driving from Tucson to the Vegas area and planned on eating here. We got there a few minutes before they opened and waited in the car, the lady working saw us and opened the door and told us to come in. After looking at the menu I got the brisket sandwich and Bobbie got the pulled pork sandwich. She paired hers with potato salad and I did pit beans and cole slaw. The potato salad was very good with nicely cooked potatoes and a nice creamy dressing. The slaw had a nice tang to it and was seasoned great. The pit beans had nice pieces of smoked meat and a good sauce over the beans with a great flavor. Bobbies pork was tender with good seasoning and was served on a soft bun. My brisket was some of the best moist and tender beef I've had outside of Texas. And to make it even better it was served on plain white bread. Overall this is a great little Q joint and is highly recommended. We will be back!! read more

I have found my new favorite barbecue place. You order at the counter and let the magic happen. The ladies are quick and friendly. The food is delicious. The brisket is wonderfully tender and tasty. The ribs are tender and tasty without depending on sauce for the flavor. The portions are plentiful and inexpensive by today's standards. This Mom and Pop place is head and shoulders above the franchises. We ate outside on the patio which could be extended for all the customers this fall and winter. What a great find this is! It was very near closing time but really wanted to try the BBQ. We arrived with about 20 minutes intending to ask for takeout. They are so friendly, insisting we stay and eat if we'd prefer. We were treated like family. We chose to eat outside on their cute patio area. This has to be the best smoked meat we have had ever! The owner smokes meats every night for the next day's menu. It is a slow process and he has the technique recipes down for the best tasting meats. My husband ordered the habanero sausages. They were spicy but not hot. Perfect - working very well with the honey-mustard provided. I ordered the brisket that was so yummy. The BBQ sauces and honey mustard are perfect pairings to the smoked meats. The sides and green chili cornbread alone are good enough to drive back for. We had the coleslaw, beans, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Wow! the Mac and cheese is a little spicy and so creamy. My husband who doesn't like Mac 'n cheese at all ate half of mine! Wow what a delicious meal with generous portions leaving plenty of leftovers to bring home. No one seemed to mind at all that we were there well past closing time, thanking us for visiting as much when we were leaving as when we arrived. Had some great BBQ there weeks ago with a friend. Yeah 5 stars!! But...... Wanted to take wife now. She's in a wheelchair uses a "real" certified, vested, helper service dog from an accredited ADI facility. A man met us at the door and said we could not bring a dog in there. I tried to explain the ADA rules but they didn't budge. We left the entrance. At that point I wouldn't eat there anyway, if he suddenly changed his mind!! But, thinking back, the place is really small and laid out strange. I would have probably had to take her back outside to the car or eat outside somewhere. At least she would have smelled the great aroma in there. Being denied happens too often. Motels and Chinese mostly. So rather than knuckling under this time,....I calmy called the local police. They investigated and gave me an incident number. Mentioned I could report it to ADA, & reference that number. I'm sorry the people felt that way but the rules have changed years ago. I also realize and empathize that people with purse puppies and ESA's ruin things for people with legitimate service animals. Real ones are well behaved, clean, calm and up to date on all shots, ....not a slobbering mutt or a barking idiot. I wish the business well but without my business. Get the stuffed potato! It's a meal unto itself. Loaded is an understatement. Everything was good. Hope you like your protein with a kick because they serve it jacked up with plenty of bite. I'm not much of a sausage guy (who knows what goes into it), but had the sausage as recommended by the staff and it was gooood, too! Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. You'll feel right at home the moment you walk in. Definitely do not come in looking for white table clothes or a wine list. The couple here were so sweet and welcoming, we were patiently waiting in the car for them to open at 11, so the wife waved us in when she flipped on the open sign. I ordered the Mac and cheese with brisket, a single peach habanero sausage, and a corn bread. My hubs got the brisket sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad, and we got an apple cobbler to share. When I say every bite was perfect, I'm not exaggerating. I may have over ordered but don't regret a single thing because everything was a shining example of that item. All the sauces were excellent, well balanced and enhanced the food. I recommend crumbling the cornbread on top of the brisket mac and cheese, adding another layer of sweet bbq sauce and digging in. You won't regret it. I'm also a dessert snob, they're often too sweet and one note, but the cobbler was just right- not too sweet, caramelized and paired with a nice vanilla ice cream. Why in the world would anyone stop anywhere else for a quick lunch here in Wickenburg?!?! My husband and I stopped here and enjoyed some of the BEST BBQ we've ever had! On the recommendation of the woman at the counter, we split Dan's High Desert Combo, substituting pulled pork for the sausage, and with coleslaw, potato salad & beans as our sides. The kitchen staff was so nice as to even split the meal already in the back for us. Their prices are also extremely reasonable.
