BAD experience tonight at Cowboy Jacks right off the bat, there were 3 of us that stood in entrance waiting to be seated as the sign said Please wait to be seated, after about 4 minutes I turned around and said loudly well I guess he has no interest in seating us as the employee was texting on his phone (behind the front desk at entrance) finally he said oh "My bad" I forgot to turn the sign around to read seat yourself. So we found a booth and the waitress brought over 2 menus I said there will be a 3rd joining, he is in restroom, could we get another menu. She never did bring one we just shared, Friend ordered burger and fries, I had soup and fiancé had burger and tots, the fries orderer then said, wait can we get a basket of cheese curds, she added them to the order then returned with our drinks. About 15 minutes later we asked where the cheese curds were and her response was "oh we bring all the food out at once" I said really? Even appetizers? Very odd, sure enough all the food with our appetizers get delivered and I said how long do you think it will take her to bring us silverware and napkins? Well she never did, I finally walked up to the bar and asked for them. The cheese curds were mediocre, maybe would have been better if served hot and as an app, my fiancé's tator tots were barely luke warm as well. My soup was a great! Warm and flavorful, I needed to use the restroom, did not bring my phone with and after the mess I saw, thought I need to go back again to snap some pics, this was such a mess and it was 6 hours after the football game had ended, there was enough employees standing around to pick up the restroom, seriously did not one single waitress use that bathroom since the game was over? Nobody cares is the truth, there were pull tabs everywhere on the floor throughout the place. Nah, who the fuck is you to tell us to be quiet when we at a public environment... everyone has been vocal the whole night, and for you to pick on us.... Again just because we as Asian and we don't pop off does not mean you can disrespect us... Well, it is still a good place to stop for Happy Hour. But they doubled their Happy Hour beer prices this spring. A glass of domestic beer that was $2 just a short time ago is now $4. And all the drinks, I think, reflect that doubling of price. The service was always and still is very good. But what used to cost $12 is now $20 to $24. I fully understand the need to raise prices. Our economy is in freewill and everything costs more. But doubling the prices is a bit of a jump. There are other pubs nearby that have Happy Hour prices that are better. I've had really awesome food and service here, but lately, the quality of food prep is going downhill. My husband and I come here for the boneless wings because it is one of the few restaurants that have GF boneless wings. That being said, the wings are always good. For an entree we order the bacon and bleu burger to split, but modify it to a bison burger -medium rare at most. Today we ordered our usual, and were given a medium well bison patty. No bueno.. needless to say we returned it (which we are loathe to do). The next bison burger came out well done, like they literally took our original burger and heated it MORE. SUPER UNHAPPY, but we were not going to return this one too. Our server didn't care and walked away immediately after we told her it was worse. First time trying Cowboy Jack's and I have to say I was pretty impressed. I've seen how packed this place can get on their patio in nice weather, so I've shied away, but on a cooler rainy day it was a great spot to grab a bite. Our small party didn't have any trouble finding a table when we got there, and had a great service experience the whole night. I got the patty melt and was craving tots, so I opted for those instead of fries (which have a corkscrew shape). It came out quickly, hot, and had so much flavor. The tots were crispy and delicious. Lots of space here with old west decor...hence the cowboy name. I could definitely see myself coming back. read more

If i could give a zero i would. I sat for nearly 10 minutes and moved to the bar before I waited another 10 minutes to be greeted. Bartender got my cider, but then it was another 15 minutes before she asked "you want something else?" I ordered the pulled bbq chicken. It came out quickly. And why? Because it was ICED cold, as in came right from the frig cold. This was after eating about ten of the completely overcooked tots waiting for silverware and ketchup. I asked "is this supposed to be cold?" And she said, "no, let me get you a new one." 5 minutes later another guy came back with the same sandwich , complete with my bite taken put of it and said "careful it's hot." It was not. Like the microwaving of my existing sandwich did NOTHING but make the bun soggy and the tots evern more overcooked. The chicken was still cold. And still, no service to be found. No napkins, no ketchup after I asked for both twice. Add to this the drunk people next to me who were broadcasting all over the restaurant their speakerphone conversation with someone who was asking "where's my child support?" The server AJ seemed annoyed to have to help us, brought our appetizer out with dinner, which tells me she forgot to bring it out beforehand, and couldn't make it over to see if we needed refills until she was ready to drop off the check. atmosphere Extremely dirty!! the amount of dust behind the hostess stand set the stage.. we were sat in a booth the permanent light fixture at the table had a tremendous amount of dirt/crud caked around the fixture. the table was dirty and felt like a film was all over it. no air conditioning!!! we were so hot we couldn't even finish our food. i ordered a moscow mule that was served in a copper cup that was warped and wouldn't even sit on the table. it was straight ginger beer no alcohol that could be tasted.. no lime at all... so I ordered a michelob ultra which they brought to me on draft in a hot glass so needless to say the beer was already warm when it arrived to our table. food was ok I can't review on the food real well because we were so hot we couldn't even eat. service was very unprofessional. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyome. it needs a complete overhaul. I'm surprised they haven't been shut down for cleanliness. if it was a option I'd give them 0 stars read more

This location has the absolute worst service. Every time we stop here we sit and sit and sit forever until we finally go ask one of the 5-6 employees clustered around one of the server stations if we can be served. Typically they say the waitress is busy elsewhere. Then you sit for another 10 minutes or so. If it's happy hour don't plan on actually getting drinks unless you sit at the bar. Speaking of nuts, no peanuts, unlike other Western themed places.) What wasn't so good: the portions of both of our appetizers, the hot cauliflower bites and potato skins, were small for the price. What was quite good: half off some apps during happy hour and $2 domestic taps and rail drinks. The lasso fries are a worthwhile upgrade. What was so so: The food all tasted good, but most things were warm instead of hot. Service was friendly but hit or miss on the timing. A few improvements would make this a great place! We stopped in for a quick bite to eat on the way home from work. Luckily for us, it was happy hour! The bar was quite crowded, but the restaurant was very open and had a lot of seating. Luckily for us, happy hour is served in the restaurant as well. The good: I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. Country and rock music came from the jukebox (not too loudly), there was interesting decor, and we were actually seated near a roaring fire, which was nice, since it was a blizzard outside! Our server was very nice. They were patient with us, even though we were taking quite a while to sort through the options. We really enjoyed the spicy cauliflower. It was unique and had a great flavor. The bad: Our server was inattentive. After our food came, we didn't see them for quite some time. Also, when I asked for extra pickles, I was charged for them and not told that there's a charge for that. I don't mind extras costing extra, but that should definitely be mentioned. Our food wasn't hot. Strangely, only the fries that came with our burger were hot. Our appetizers and burger were served at the same time, but it's like they left they appetizers sitting there, and I'm not sure why. I'm not a fan of lukewarm potato skins. The ugly? Although I enjoyed the decor, the first table we were sat at was so wobbly that our glasses were moving around if we touched the table even lightly. We were moved, and told that the manager would be told, but I can't imagine that this just suddenly happened. The table must have been broken for a while. Our second table was better, but still not sturdy. Would I go back? Berhaps. Most likely it would be because I get in the mood for some spicy cauliflower, or a $2 domestic tap during happy hour. The latest Cowboy Jack's moved into my neighborhood and I couldn't be happier. It's in the old Champp's location just North of 694 on Silver Lake Road. The menu seems more varied than what I remember from the other locations but has all the standard Cowboy Jack's fare. My burger had a flame grilled goodness to it and the service was quick at lunch today (first day open). The decor consists of barn wood and rustic corrugated metal (complete with rust). It's the sort of place a rhinestone cowboy might hang out, but heck that's the fun of it - if you wanted real country you'd be someplace other than New Brighton. I'm not sure why they have all the 'lounge' seating with couches and leather chairs but the patio - once open will certainly be a go to place on a pleasant Minnesota night. It was a busy Saturday night (1/14/23) which is fine. I understand waitstaff shortage. It was obvious with how many tables had not been cleared. What I had an issue with is the waitress walking by me and not checking in. Asking for a sauce and having to hunt her down only to find out they didn't have any. Behind me at the bar, she hung out flirting with a guy. Again, I don't have a problem with that as long as you handle your customers first.
