I would never buy a car from here. They are so shady. It all started with a piece of junk mail that said we were guaranteed winners. So we go down and enter in all our information, and they'll call us. Sure they'll call us. They of course didn't call us and of course we received nothing but a phone call asking if we wanted to trade in our bran new cars, which of course we did not. Then comes to this time. Another piece of junk mail. Another guaranteed win. So I call, we got an appointment, got an email confirming the appointment. We go in, see the girl at the desk. She asks us to wait in the waiting room and someone will be by to help us. Twenty five minutes later, still nothing. So I go back to the desk. She said she had forgotten us and that she would get someone to help us, she talked to some older guy in an office, I can only assume a manager of some kind, who of course did nothing to help us, finally flagged some poor guy down to help us. We got a dollar scratch off...thanks for being shady and wasting our time, twice. I'm sure you'll have some poor sales person "follow up" with our information in the coming weeks. They will undoubtably hear about our bad experience and that no, we have no interest in selling, trading in, or "upgrading" our vehicles that are both less than a year old. read more

I was sent a mailer with a sweepstakes contest on it. I peeled off the tabs to learn that I won a $1,000 gift card. I'm the worlds biggest skeptic so I read ALL the fine print and it appeared totally legit. I had two friends also look at it to see if they believed I had won. When I went to the dealer I realized it was a scam and they said the confirmation code had to match. It never said that on the flier AT ALL. They are con artists! I also noticed the dealership was an old run down building and I wondered if we were even in the right place. I would never ever do business with this dealership. If they will scam you to get you in the door who knows how they will treat you once they already have your money. read more

I saw a vehicle online that I was interested in so I called to make sure it was still available. Spoke to Jolene and she said it was, took my name and asked when I was coming in. I told her before noon (I live 45 miles away and this was at 10:15). We drove out there and were greeted by someone in the parking lot, he said he could help me even though I talked to Jolene on the phone. He looked up the vehicle and it was just sold. I understand cars can be sold quickly but after taking down my info was it too hard for someone to call and tell me? The place seemed like a Wal-Mart of car dealerships. They had arcade games and it smelled like popcorn. The next day someone called me and left a message saying they wanted to help me out with finding a vehicle. The vehicle I was looking at is still showing available online so they need to get their act together. Very shady business. Tom Mueller, Internet sales manager, told me to bring in my car and they'll beat Carmax's offer for my car. Carmax's appraisal took about 30 minutes total. I was at Cowboy Kia for about 45 and still no offer. I had to leave because I have a baby at home and my wife needed me. I was told that they will call me in 5-10 minutes with an offer. After almost 3 hours and multiple calls/texts to Tom, still no offer. Even if Cowboy Kia offers me more than Carmax, I don't trust this place and will not be trading in my car here. read more

Should've checked Yelp first. Most of the reviews here concerning the deceptive online practices are spot on. Their tag is 'At Cowboy Kia Everything is Negotiable'. Take this at complete face value for it includes: -ethics in advertisement -honesty -quality in customer service -accuracy in vehicle information listing They will retort with disclaimers I'm sure. However disclaimers do not cover blatant copy/pasting of vehicle information of features. For instance all cars listed that I've found show power windows. Not the case. The discounts to get the actual 'buy it now' price require you to qualify for a number of different manufacturer discounts. So if you are former military, have recently graduated from college, have 3 toes on your left foot, are of East Norwegian and Nepalese descent on your mothers side please take advantage and let all the discounts roll in. Seriously most car manufactures offer discounts for military and new college grads and some for Uber drivers. You can find these online on kbb and elsewhere and in total for Kia they add up to $2800. That still doesn't cover the roughly $7000 discounts they list online. They list unobtainable prices just look at the MSRP that's what they are really selling their cars for. Additionally be prepared to wait around while they play the jerk you around game before letting you know the real price. read more

Let me tell you about a recent experience I had at Cowboy Kia in Conroe, TX and why you should avoid the place like fire. To set the stage, I am a professional man in my mid 40's. I am a father of two girls and I am the GM of a $25 Million dollar business in Houston. I say that not to brag but rather to tell you that my expectations may be higher than some, but after reading this, you will see that they really are not. I would gladly settle for mediocrity from this place.... My girlfriend and I are in the market for a slightly used Jeep Wrangler. They had two that we saw online and decided to drive up and check them out. The first time there, we were met with a group of very aggressive sales people that all seemed to be smoking in front of the dealership. After navigating the nauseating cloud of tobacco, we entered the "showroom" (a term I use very loosely). The first thing I noticed was trash all over the floor and coffee cups everywhere. We were approached by a tall African American gentleman that did not introduce himself, but rather asked "What do you need?" I said "Wow, well, we'd like to check out that Jeep right there" as I pointed to it. It was on the website for $26,500. He said hold on and went to retrieve the keys. When he came back I asked about another Jeep they had on the website and he said he THINKS it was sold but wasn't sure. I asked if he could check to BE SURE and he said it wasn't available anywhere. Then he went on to give us the keys and tell us to test drive it. Mind you, he has not asked for any ID. Hell, he doesn't even know our names at this point. We drove it, liked it a lot actually, and went to bring the keys back. The guy was nowhere to be found. After looking for him for a few minutes, we dropped the keys on his desk and left. Two days later on Saturday the 28th of May, I returned to buy the Jeep as a surprise to my girlfriend. I wasn't about to hunt this guy down again, so I met (I use the word "met" loosely too) a new sales guy. This gentleman said "What are you looking for". Again, no introduction. I'm seeing a theme here. I said I'd like for you to appraise my truck as a trade and I'd like to buy that Jeep right there. He asked if I wanted to drive it and I told him I already had and that I had a very unfavorable experience with the sales guy and wanted to deal with someone else. Not only was he eager, he didn't bother to ask why or what bad experience I had. He just wanted a sale, not a customer. He took my keys and went to survey my truck. Again, this guy still does not know my name.... He came in and directed me to his cubicle and asked me to wait for the appraisal to see if we could "make a deal" (HUGE PET PEEVE). While I was sitting at his cube, I could see the reflection of the manager's "office" in the window I was seated next to. He went in and there began the dance. While he was shoveling food into his mouth, the manager crunched numbers. When he finally came back, he said my name is Steve by the way, what's yours... I told him and he presented the purchase agreement to me where the price of the Jeep had miraculously jumped $3495 to a whopping $29995. I immediately asked why the price on the jeep was not as advertised as on the website and he said our prices change daily. I told him that oil prices change daily, not car prices. Especially when they are advertised... The offer for my 2015 fully loaded Dodge Ram with a Hemi and less than 20,000 miles on the odometer was $20,000. This is a truck that sold only months ago for $46,000. I get depreciation, but come on. Especially when you are pulling prices on you Jeep. I told him it was ridiculous and he said let me see what I can do. He went back to the manager's area and began eating what looked like Chinese food or Ramen noodles. Mind you, the manager's cube has missing windows so when they start yelling, cussing (which they do A LOT HERE, the customer, if he is the only one in the showroom, as I was can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in there.) Here is where it gets good and thanks for hanging on up until now. He tells the manager fellow, and I quote "THIS GUY IS A REAL FUC&ING A$$HOLE" . I got up from my chair and walked towards the cube where there were 5 others beside Steve and they all went "Shhh shhh shhh". I said "give me my keys right now. Nobody gets to call me that. This is the most unprofessional place I've ever been". Then, in a wild show of mockery they all six starting waving and very loudly yelling "BYE. DRIVE SAFE DICK. BYE FELICIA" etc. Since then, I've tried several times to get ahold of the owner and GM. Calls and emails have gone unanswered. In fact, one of the receptionists told me "We don't have no owner right now". Steer clear of this place if you have any self-respect or dignity. They are vultures. read more

THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!!! I have been to several dealerships in my pursuit of finding the right vehicle. I researched prices through smartphone apps and searched web pages for several days when I heard about "Cowboy Kia of Conroe". They advertised a substantially lower price than the competition in my local area. With them being a two hour drive each way I made sure that the price of the same specific car they advertised was in fact the same price I was to expect when I drive all the way there to buy a car. I was assured by the Internet specialist (Angelica Tutter) that they had several cars fitting the exact description of the ones I had shopped for at other dealers and that their price was Definitely the price as advertised, and that is the price I was to pay. I printed up their prices and used it as a tool to shop the local competition in hopes of making the same deal locally. When the local salesman heard what dealership I was referring to, they warned me and told me that (Cowboy Kia) does Not run an honest operation and that I shouldn't waste my time going there. Needless to say, I had to find out for myself... Upon arrival everything seemed to be going as planned. I test drove one of the vehicles I had been looking at online and while sitting in the car I once again asked the salesman (Tommy Mueller) if the car I was driving was indeed the price that was advertised. He emphatically said yes. He even made mention about a bonus care package that went with the car as well. My emotions were swirling in anticipation of the great deal I was about to make... Once I was seated across the desk from the salesman ready to sign the contract, the deception started to unfold. The price Tommy was Now offering was over $10000.00 more than the price I had been told by him, Angelica and the listed price they had on their website, which by the way, had No Fine Print alluding to any special circumstances such as incentives/ rebates associated with the price of the car. I then asked him what happened to the agreed price I was told by Angelica and also by him while sitting in the car just moments before. He shifted the conversation to rebates that were required to get to that price. One of the rebates required me to drive for Uber another required me to install a wheelchair apparatus to the vehicle for handicapped passengers. Another required me to be a veteran or active military. Even if I qualified for every rebate they offered me I would still have been close to $5000.00 more than the previously agreed price! After standing firm on the price I was told multiple times I would be able to purchase the car for, the salesman made a couple of trips to a back office to conference with the sales manager (Paul Jones) who finally made an appearance and Tommy (salesman) was nowhere to be found. After realizing there was not going to be a deal made, I challenged their honesty and integrity bringing up everything they had done deceiving me into driving two hours just to find out that they were just as dishonest as I was warned about in the first place. Buyer beware!!! They lie!!! I confronted them with their lies and they said every dealership in the Houston area practices the same sales techniques... Really??? Is this true? I will definitely not be buying a Kia because if they allow dealerships to deceive the public on multiple levels, I don't believe I want their product! The next business day I shopped at Sterling Kia in Bryan TX. After telling the salesman about the horrible experience at Cowboy Kia, he smiled and acknowledged that it was a familiar story. Evidently this is not the first time someone has experienced the very same thing there, and that Cowboy Kia constantly makes promises they don't intend to uphold! I purchased my Kia Soul from Jeff Wyatt at Sterling Kia. No games, just the usual sales negotiations you would expect while buying a car... So am driving home to The Woodlands from Waco at 5am with my girlfriend and daughter when I have a flat approximately 30 miles from Waco. Not a problem, minus the headache of actually changing the tire, if you own 99% of the cars on the road. Go to get my spare, and all that comes with the car is an air pump and fix a flat. I attempted to use the most ridiculous and unsafe thing to use, but wanted to get my family off the side of the road. The fix a flat just ran out of the hole in the center of my tire tread and onto the road. I should note that even the fix a flat warning said to drive 50 mph or slower for no more than 6 miles. Glad they care about my family's safety. So now I am stranded on the side of the road with my family needing to get home to work a side job I had lined up. Luckily I have insurance and had my car towed back to Waco to have my flat fixed, but the place does not open until 9am. After sitting in the parking lot for two hours I finally get my tire fixed and my family home safe, losing the extra money I had lined up. I call Cowboy Kia and they treated my nightmare as a joke and refused to provide me with a spare, jack, and wrench to keep my family safe in the future. I was told I could buy the kit if I would like, but they would not provide one to me like most of the cars on the road already have. I had the worst service department experience I've ever had and will never return. I made an appointment online and I brought my 2019 Soul in because the tire pressure monitor light would not go off even though I had the tire pressures checked at my last oil change. The service department office is in a very small space. Customers were taking turns going in and out but I counted five employees in the office at the same time and none were wearing masks. When I explained the problem to the service rep stared at me blankly like he was stumped. He asked for my keys and phone number but did not provide an estimate of when service would be completed. I got a text message with a link to a web page that was supposed to show the progress on my vehicle, but it never showed any progress. I waited the full day and heard nothing. I texted the next morning and got no response. After noon the next day I gave up and called. The woman who answered said she had no information and would call me back. When she did she said my car was ready to pick up. I went in about an hour later and asked for my car on the office crowded with unmasked employees. They said they had to go get it and I told them I'd wait outside. After 10 minutes or so the service rep pulled up and gave me my keys and paperwork. He offered no explanation of what if anything they found. The only nice thing I can say is try washed the car and cleaned the interior, but I found an unknown plastic part (a cover of some kind) left on the passenger seat. Communication was abysmal throughout this process. The simplest Covid safety protocols were not being followed. No way will I ever use Cowboy Kia service again! read more

Went with my girlfriend to take her Kia in to get it looked at for a code it threw. The OCD-II scanner my dad owned told us the code and problem. The code was accidentally cleared however. We get to the dealership and the mechanic that comes out finds out that the code was cleared and tells us there is not really anything he could do. That's understandable if we didn't know the code, however he chose to continuously ignore me when I tried to tell him what the code was. I'm fairly certain that's because they can charge around $75 if they hook their scanners up. He was extremely rude and rolled his eyes a lot. We left the car regardless to get the brake lights replaced. After my girlfriend called a couple days later to see if the car was ready to be picked up, he was extremely rude and sarcastic with her and spoke with her as if she was a child. She asked when it would be ready and he replied "Now if I don't do anything to it." Let alone the fact that it was already there for 2 days for them to tell us that all they had done was decided the brake lights needed to be replaced. Come to find out after my girlfriend had already paid, he charged her $95 for a brake light replacement. STAY AWAY FROM THE ARROGANT DISHONEST MECHANICS IN THE SHOP!!! The sales staff may be honest, no idea, but you'd be better off finding a family member, friend, or even another mom and pop shop. read more

Sold a faulty used Jeep, the. they expected me to run around and get it fixed at demontrond and they would pay me later. I have 2 lights on the dash, demontrond found 0 electrical faults. I have spent he last 4 months replacing wheel sensors, and various other sensors and still doing it. My buddy also bought a Jeep the next day, I didn't get my referral fee and he has had an engine light on since 2 weeks after he bought his. This is my 3rd car from them with the other two being new cars, needless to say I will not be back. We don't even go back with my Jeep or the kids Kia for services anymore. I have several thousands in upgrades so I will just live with it until 2020 when I can grab a Jeep truck with a diesel. read more

Bought a new 2107 KIA Sorento and it rolls back every time it is put into drive. I took it back 3 days later and complained and they said they would take care of it. The service department said nothing was wrong and to wait 5 seconds when I put it in drive. The dealership offered me another vehicle that was several thousands less for the same payments. I declined. Nobody should have to pay that much money for a vehicle that does not operate correctly. There was also a recall on the vehicle which was not taken care of before they sold it to me. OK...went to get my oil changed from Cowboy Kia. If you buy a car from here, they only charge 9.95 for an oil change for the life of your car. Now THAT'S an awesome deal!! It was a great experience as there was only one guy working the service desk and he did a WONDERFUL job of multi-tasking between the customers and the guys working on the cars. Very honest and very happy to see everyone he came into contact with. There was a gentleman in line before me that was a WW II vet and the guy working the desk was most respectful to the WW II vet. Service writers alert me about everything they can possibly make money off of but when my steering column was making a clunking noise which is immediately noticeable when mechanic has to drive to service bay, nothing is said to me. I was in a hurry that day when getting an oil change. I was going to notify them next oil change... But life happened and I needed to drive my car for my new job. I went over the mileage for my next oil change which unfortunately was right over 60,000. Had my gf bring it in since I work all day and night.
