If I could give this place 0 starts, I would. A piece of advice, DON'T COME HERE. My group of friends arrived around 11pm on a Saturday night. Half of us were let in, the other half were given some lame excuse as to why we couldn't enter. The bouncer looked us up and down and refused to let us in even though he just let half the group in. Why you ask? Great question because he could barely keep his lie straight. He said we were drinking outside, which all we had were water and Diet Coke cans. When we questioned him, he switched it up and said they were closing even though he just let half our group in less than 1 minute prior and the stated hours say open until 1:30am. He was rude and had a disgusting ego that unfortunately lost this establishment business. The bouncer was so blatantly disrespectful and if this is a representation of the business itself, I'm glad we were not let in. Such a shame to see a business be so openly discriminatory and take pride in it?! Icing on the cake. We heard from another establishment we went to instead that this is not the first time they've done something like this and looking at some of the other reviews, it's clear the people they hire here continue to discriminate against others. read more

Bottom Line: Overpriced and understaffed The first thing I noticed when we walked into this establishment was an American flag draped across a table with lots of stuff on it. Like it was a tablecloth.... that was an immediate turn-off for me. The flag is never supposed to be used in this capacity - like a prop. Since we were with a group, I did not pick this place. It wasnt busy but it wasnt empty... and there was one gal working the entire place. We really felt badly for her as she was running around doing her absolute best to handle all us tourists. They really need to have more than one overworked person on the floor for this place is its in the middle of this touristy kind of spot. Truly wanted to like this spot. I called prior to the visit and was informed that reservations were not allowed. When we arrived we wanted to move seats due to very loud music from the live band as we were seated right infront of the band and noticed there were several tables with " reserved " signs and the host said -we could not be seated there. What happened to " no reservations allowed" ? The service is spotty and the ambiance missed the mark in several areas. Plastic forks , spoons , knives. Difficult to cut the ribs with a plastic knife. When asked for a real knife- we were asked to reuse a knife that was as dirty and was being taken back to be washed. The worst part of the experience was looking up from my table and seeing a decorative guitar sporting a confederate flag. A couple of things I did like were: the live music. The musicians were great - except the music was so loud -that no one in the main room was able to hear each other speak. The bake potato size is impressive and the Dolly Parton door / decor. My son came up to visit this weekend and loves going here. We've always enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. However this last visit was not so good. He likes the brisket sandwich. It came out looking so sad only 2 thin slices!!! with a tiny portion of fries. Come on!!! This is not cowboy style. ??? Surely. A big 6 foot guy wants a loaded sandwich not just dressing. It was like a kiddies sandwich. What has happened here. It was so hot and the ketchup and sauce were out in the sun because they were hot runny. Nasty . Super disappointed!! Horrible experience- Racial discrimination While dining as a paying customer, I asked one do the hostesses named Gracey for the location of the restroom. She initially informed me that the restaurant did not offer a public bathroom. When I clarified that I was an active dining customer, she altered her response and told me that the bathroom was located outside the restaurant and down the stairs. I later discovered that there is a standard customer restroom located inside the restaurant. As a Latina, I felt like a targeted act of exclusion and racial profiling. This treatment constitutes a violation of equal accommodations under California's Unruh Civil Rights Act. I spoke to the owner, James Dixon, explained him what happened, told him I was emotionally disturbed and humiliated, especially now as a pregnant woman, and he did not recognize or acknowledge anything. We came here for a late lunch. It was busy but the hostess gave a very positive first impression of this place as she cheerfully gave us specific indoor or outdoor seating options. Our server, Macayla (sp?), equally impressed us with her energetic effervescence. She was very attentive without being intrusive. The place has a western theme with a lot of wood and cowboy decor. You'd expect country music on their sound system, some of which was played, but some upbeat modern rock was also thrown into the mix. The menu is small but has some great BBQ options. I chose a brisket sandwich with a side of fries and a hot chocolate to drink (there was a chill in the air and it sounded like a wonderful option). The hot chocolate was very chocolately and sweet. A side of marshmallows was provided and I dumped them all into it to make it perfect. My brisket sandwich was fantastic, although I think the brisket could have been a bit more tender. The smokey flavor, the slaw, and the superb house bbq sauce made this a pleasure to consume. The fries were really good and I used the bottle of bbq sauce on the table to squirt a blob onto my plate, rather than the ketchup, for dipping. They have an impressive bar if you just want to come in for a drink. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this as a good spot for bbq if you find yourself in Arrowhead Village. read more

If you're visiting Lake Arrowhead, then it's a must to stop by Lake Arrowhead Village. Besides shopping, there are a good number of dining options. We arrived during peak lunch hours and there were long waits at every non-chain restaurant, so we decided on bbq at The Cadillac Cowboy because they had the shortest wait. We were originally seated outside under the blazing sun with no available umbrella to provide shade until a table eventually opened up inside. Beer menu didn't offer too big of a selection on draft. I ordered the Ring of Fire Chicken Sandwich which is buttermilk fried chicken, Nashville hot sauce and pickles, and it hit the spot. The meal included choice of a side and I opted for the mac n cheese, but it was very disappointing because it was lukewarm. The minute my friend and I walked into this restaurant the staff was fantastic. It was just about 5 o'clock in the evening in the middle of the week and it was great. We started off with a couple margaritas and the ambience was fantastic. I just can't say enough wonderful things about this place, of course being in the village there was a lot of action going on outside and it's just wonderful. We've been here a number of times but feel it's time to leave a review. This place has a great ambiance and decor and a nice setting. The menu, however, is lousy. They claim to be a BBQ place but the only BBQ plate they sell is ribs. Want a brisket plate or pulled pork plate or combo thereof? Forget it. And the prices...OMG. $19 for a bratwurst. $19 for the tiniest little cup of mac and cheese with a couple of chicken pieces on top. $30 for some ribs! $15 for fried okra. And no napkins or silverware...plastic and paper towels for you. If you want to spend a fortune or eat tiny quantities this place is for you. And on top of their rip off prices they have the gall to charge a 3% credit card fee, nearly unheard of at restaurants (and the only one in Lake Arrowhead I've ever seen) The service is fine--average. But we're done eating meals at this place. It might be good for an overpriced beer and fries while watching a game. read more

I had an enjoyable experience here on a Friday afternoon. Good ambience, views of the lake, and tasty food. Service was very attentive. I ordered the Brisket Sandwich which was the perfect balance of tasty smoky meat and a not overwhelming amount of bbq sauce. I wish the burger was a bit bigger, although for its size, it had a good amount of tasty brisket. The side I ordered was the Red Cabbage Salad which was a bit strange in taste first off, but kinda grew on me. I also ordered a salad with breaded Chicken which was a good portion and quite tasty also. I recommend a visit if you feel a theme to accompany lake views. read more

Came here about 6months ago and it was ok. We thought we'd give it another go and it was worse than the first time. Understaffed for a holiday weekend! Waited 10min for drinks and finally went up to the bar and got our own....only to hear the bartender talking about her weight loss journey with a group of men at the bar... not so professional... I finally flagged down a waitress and we ordered food that we waited 35min for and it was just ok. Amazing service, food, and ambiance! Take care of your servers and at a minimum, be nice. My goodness the amount of complainers we encountered on our 3-day stay in Lake Arrowhead. Do better, my people. Anyway back to the review - the staff was attentive, friendly, and all around amazing. The drinks were bomb. I got the mezcal magarita and holy smokes (hah), it had the right amount of flavor and kick. Hubs ordered the alcoholic sweet tea and it was perfectly balanced. The table ordered the Nashville hot chicken (the best hot chicken sandwich I've EVER HAD), the loaded baked potato (they aren't kidding when they say it's Texas sized), the half rack of ribs, and I can't remember what hubs ordered but it was delish (pulled pork sandwich, I think). We had room for dessert so ordered both - the buttered cake and the banana pudding (I think it was banana, who cares order it!). Everything was so good! We sat outside and had a view of the lake. My family came in the afternoon and enjoyed the view from the patio. Our server was very nice and checked on us often. I liked how they give you a pitcher of water. The brisket sandwich with coleslaw was so good 5/5. Loved the flavor and how tender it was. I'd go back and get it again. A little mixed overall. I'll start with the good. Service was good. They were fast with the food and friendly. We ordered to go, so we could take it back to the cabin to eat. Restaurant was clean and had a thick country feel. The food was hit or miss. Here's why. The ribs were on the dry side. We ordered 2 racks of ribs. Even with the BBQ sauce on top, it was still dry. The pulled pork sandwich had the same problem. Dryness. I enjoyed the Mac and cheese. It did have a slight kick to it. I liked that it was creamy. The baked beans do have bacon in them. So, not vegetarian friendly. My husband loved those beans. He also liked the Mac and cheese. Cons: the food is pricey. It isn't cheap by any means. Especially for dry ribs and dry pulled pork. Went here with a party of 6. Came here wondering why it was empty on a Sunday then I figured why after. The food was nothing to be proud of. They need to learn what seasoning is. The basket of fries were $12 dollars and was about the worst fries I've had. Zero salt or any flavor. The brisket sandwich and the rack of ribs were also dry and had no taste. (Flavor) I ordered a beer which they were out of then changed my choice which the waitress came back and told me they're out of that one too so I just ordered a Coke which never came so I had to ask her for it again. The waitress wasn't that bad though she tried. The fact that our bill was $80 dollars for one beer, one coke, fries, pork rinds, and a brisket sandwich was insane. The pork rinds were from the store bag with seasoning on them. Literally the only thing that had seasoning. Basically this place was not worth it and I don't understand how someone would go more than once. Food: small menu for a bbq restaurant but what can you except it's a small little town in the mountains. I order a starter for my entree( the loaded potato with pull pork) cause it brought me back to a AZ restaurant I went to called rednecks. It was delicious but wish they had a sweet bbq and a spicy bbq sauce. Wife order half a rack of ribs and wings. The rack I would say needs more rub. I tasted more meat than all the good bbq spices. We heard country music as we were walking by and I love country music! Whoever they had hired to perform that night was singing a Morgan Wallen song! I love love love Morgan Wallen! So we went in and asked to sit on the patio because I wanted to see the sunset. We ordered 2 different kinds of margaritas... Both delish! We also ordered wings and a salad. Food was just okay. It got a little chilly and it turns out our table had a firepit in the middle! I thought it was a lazy Susan but it was a firepit! The waiter lit it up for us and it was beautiful as the night went on. We met several people who had cabins and homes here and would come up for the weekends. We ended up three rounds of drinks with the "locals". It turned out to be a beautiful evening. The staff were great! The music great! They had line dancing going on inside! I visited the Cadillac Cowboy last week and had a great experience with my server Miki. She was helpful, kind, and expeditious. I had the Bandit Pulled Pork and my wife had the Ring Of Fire Chicken. Both were exquisite! The food was tasty. After our meal we got a drink at the bar from Ashley who was very fast and hard working, and got our drinks right, even while helping other customers. This bar is fun, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the village at Lake Arrowhead. A+ for the staff and food. read more

Tell you what! If you are in the area and hungry keep this place number one on you list. We had brisket sandwiche, red hot chicken sandwich and Cadillac fries (these were with brisket). The fries took the first spot and I filled up on it pretty fast. The chicken sandwich was the best spicy chicken sandwich we have had, better then any other hot chicken sandwich.
