My husband and I have been going to Cowfish since it opened, and they take amazing care of their guests, its top notch hospitality for a casual dining experience. Eric and Gerald have a terrific team, and the food is always delicious and not your standard fare. The views are terrific and its just a fun happy atmosphere. Literally giving one star because it's the only option, I've been in this industry for eleven years, I have never seen such unprofessional servers, staff, and managers, it was so bad to the point that we cancelled our entrees and went to a better more fabulous and accommodating restaurant down the road. I regularly order blue cheese wedge salads in some of the finest steaks houses around the country and Cowfish by far has the best blue cheese wedge! I topped mine with a perfectly grilled and subtly charred piece of medium rare salmon that was cooked to perfection. The menu mix of other apps and entrees are also amazing. I've been to cowfish a few times now and I have absolutely nothing bad to say. The food is great (I generally get the kale salad with chicken, the guacamole appetizer and/or the french fries). The dressing on the salad is nice and light. The chicken isn't bad - I'm extremely picky about my chicken and will almost always only eat it grilled/blackened. The fries are amazing. The drinks are strong. The service is great. The views, especially during sunset, are absolutely breathtaking. I come for it all. read more

Fabulous!! This is a must visit restaurant! Our waitress was awesome; friendly and super helpful in navigating the menu as we wanted one of everything. Thank you Michelle R! We started with Brussels sprouts, veal chops and spinach artichoke dip and we were thrilled with them all. Entrees we had pork chops, filet mignon, hake special, and scallops. All were impressive and cooked to perfection. The stuffed potato was a crowd pleaser around the table. From the staff to the food we all left amazed that we hadn't been there before. Stopped in last Sun 8/15/21 around 430- went to hostess to get an outside table for two.. told 1.4hr wait/ we said fine we'd be at the bar and gave her my tell no. As we sat down at the bar a very tired looking bartender told us they were closing in 30 minutes due to a lack of staff!!! We had our drinks and with great disappointment(since it was a beautiful day) left the bar to check on the status of our reservation. We were told they gave our table away ... they said they called us / we didn't respond/ so they gave our table away!.. I said we were here all the time at the bar/she insisted they called us and they could only put our name back on the wait list/ I asked what tel no they called and sure enough they put the wrong tel no in the computer!! Instead of apologizing- they just told us to wait and they'd get us a table .. soon..,10 mins later I asked where were out seats/? She had someone take us to what we're supposed to be outside seats/ they weren't/ they were inside .. rather than argue we just sat down! Having told the waitress our story/ she said OMG I feel so badly the way you were treated/ let me get you an appetizer/ so we ordered one - had our meal and asked for the check- we wondered if the waitress charged us for the apply/ we both thought the way she framed it-it would be on the house.... It wasn't lol! Just the way this day went ! Here are my complaints... the manager shud have told the parking lot attendants to inform patrons about the bars closing time/ had we known it was closing in 30 mins we wud hv gone somewhere else.., the situation created by the hostess was incompetence/they shud always confirm the tell no- they didn't.. once they realized they made the error they shud have seated us immediately - they didn't and they did seat others while we waited/ they screwed up again by knowing we wanted an outdoor table which is why we waited almost 1,5hrs/ yet they put us inside...we drove 1hour to get there and it was a huge disappointment- we've been there enough to know they can and should do better/ and that doesn't even deal with the appetizer confusion! If I could give less stars I would. The hospitality at this place totally ruined our wonderful Hamptons escape. Reservations were set for a Family of 9 celebrating one's birthday. Upon arrival a family of "mixed brown people" Black, Korean, and Hispanic we were all greeted with awkward stares. Ok not unusual to be a person of color in a white establishment to be stared at. As we waited on a Wednesday evening you would've thought this placed was packed and overwhelmed. We waited 45 minutes for a table that we reserved days prior to arriving. Went for lunch with friends. Very nice place. We ate upstairs. The furniture and decor are very cool. Our waitress was very nice. We had a salad and the cornbread skillet. The cornbread skillet was sooo good. The salad was great. Then my great friend also treated us to the lobster rolls. They were delicious. I usually go to LUNCH but this roll was the best I've ever had. It was pricey but so worth it. The coffee and the end was great too. It wasn't busy when we went so that was a plus. read more

Local resident from the North Fork, whose first time at CF was last night. I have years in the hospitality biz, so I "get" things, if you will. My girlfriend does, too, so, when we nicely approached the bar tonight (16 July 445 pm), only to receive some dick attitude from the PUTZ wearing his sunglasses behind the bar (check said "Server: 500"), who made us feel completely unwelcome, and who way-too-casually tossed the checkbook onto the bar in front of us, we were not pleased. We finished our drink and left. His attitude, and lack of any welcoming disposition was utterly obnoxious. Seems like the staff was burned out, and we are not even half way through the season. Chin up, jerks! Gf was supremely disappointed bc she has been a regular customer over the years and was showing me the place. Note to Cowfish: have "Server 500" stop being a total douche to customers. The only reason I'll be coming back to try the food is bc the valet kid nicely asked us how everything was. Roomba' s sibling, Cowfish really kicks ass! Went in on a crazy busy Saturday night, the service was spot on and well trained. The food was consistent as well as thoughtful and excellent. Menu items were priced affordable for a family, kids drinks were served in nice sized mason jars, not the tiny glasses you are used to at most Hampton's restaurants that must be filled up again and again. Fish was excellent,steaks, ribs and burgers. We went with older relatives as well as young kids and everybody left happy!! The new decor is clean and simple as well as a sushi bar. It looks like the kitchen is well staffed food arrives quickly and done perfectly. Can't wait to the outside food bar opens up, with look's like connecting water jitney or reggae school bus to Roomba! I give 3 cheers for Cowfish! read more

Save yourself the time from reading my review and just know it is overrated and not worth your time or money. Let's start with the buzzers for when your seat is ready not being charged so we had to wait for it. Then once we got one, we decided to go to the bar for drinks. We ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and weren't asked which one we want, automatically given the more expensive glass. Then the glass we received was dirty and still had lipstick on it. When we asked for a new glass, they picked up several glasses on the bar and saw they were all dirty. The bartender went through at least 5 glasses before finding a clean one. Then continued to explain how the lipstick doesn't get cleaned in the kitchen and how they really have to scrub the glasses in the sink and how he has broken several glasses trying to get them clean. At the bar, we ordered hummus and pita- nothing to rave about. The pita was good. Finally, our table was ready we were seated and orders were taken. We thought the menu would have more variety. The service was absolutely terrible! I was eating my salad and my husband finished his chowder and next think I know I had an arm across my face while I was leaning in to take a bite. I literally thought about pretending to bite their arm just to give them the hint. There is no bread, you have to order cornbread for $9 - be warned there are jalapeños in it. The ribeye was very fatty and the buffalo shrimp were not edible. The place was packed and we started wondering if we were the only ones hating our experience but we were not. While we were on line at the valet two different families said how terrible the service was and how they couldn't wait to go on yelp and review. Views weren't even that great... First time here and totally and utterly impressed. The location is amazing, sprawled on its own private island, well at least it feels like that. Parking can be difficult because it is in the same parking lot as a marina, we parked in the rumba(it's sister restaurant down the road) satellite parking field, and walked; although there is a bus straight out of Jamaica blasting reggae and driven by a very cool, laid back guy that picks people up every ten minutes. There was an hour wait on Friday night, so we took a buzzer and went to the upstairs bar. We were immediately greeted by an incredibly sweet and knowledgeable bartender, austin! She made the most amazing 'homewrecker' a martini infused with cucumber and homemade sour mix that is both refreshing and just the rig amount of sweet. A lady at the bar pointed out her favorites, and it was a great mix of people...so we decided after greeted by the owner who was super nice, we would eat at the bar. The tuna poke; the most exotic mix of avocado, strawberries, mango, herbs and fresh tuna accompanied by crispy tostadas was out of this universe. There are no further words, just if you don't order it you are missing out on a once in a Lifetime treat! Then came the shrimp and crab ramoulade which was incredible, but hard to compare to the poke. The wedge salad was the best one I have ever had. The bacon was so finely chopped and crisped to perfectness and the chunks of blue cheese were delectable. It's a ten! Finally, the cowboy steak. Served medium rare...not the rare that is still mooing inside, it was the most spectacular shade of red and pink. The ideal, most even seer on both sides. The loaded baked potato definitely was the most amazing potato. You know it's not helping your heart, but is worth every. It'd. The scallions pop in your mouth and the cheese is the melt you dream about! (yes, sometimes I dream of cheese). Austin told us the banana cream pie was a do not mis, but we were so stuffed. We got a slice to go! We then took the boat ride on the pontoon boat down to rumba and the bus back. If you're seeking a tropical escape with sweeping views of the shinnecock canal, and food that is spectacular, this is your spot! read more

This might be the best restaurant in the Hamptons...maybe even in New York (But then we haven't tried their other place, Roomba, yet...). This comes from a 22-yr veteran in the NYC hotel industry. This brand-new restaurant sits right on the bay, with an outdoor deck and lovely lawn, fabulous food and incredible staff! My husband and I arrived to what we thought was the old Indian Cove Restaurant with our 8-yr-old and his Nintendo DS (since he's always bored at restaurants). We were planning a low-key evening with a couple of lobsters and a kid's meal. Alas, the old stand-by was gone! Cowfish? A 40-minute wait? We put our name on the list, turned around, and our son had already fled to the waiting pirate ship on the lawn overlooking the inlet. I ordered a tap beer for my husband (they had an extensive beer selection), and "homewrecker" for me (a refreshing mango and cucumber martini)...We settled into two Adirondack chairs on the lawn, and enjoyed the breeze from the bay. We were so relaxed, and our son was having so much fun on the pirate ship with some new little friends, we were hesitant to go into the restaurant when our name was called! The restaurant was buzzing with a lively mix of 20-somethings to 50-somethings, and we expected the wait staff to be hurried and unattentive. But instead, they made us feel like we were the only customers in the room! No "this is not my table" attitude here - everyone who walked by glanced at our table to make sure we had everything we needed. Here's the best part...the food! We ordered an appetizer called "Maui Waui" - lobster, crabmeat and scallop sushi, drizzled with a spicy sauce and sprinkled with toasted coconut. AMAZING! (We loved it so much, we ordered it "to go" the next day on our way home to Westchester - Roe, the hostess, packed it on ice for the trip). We ordered guacamole and chips, too, and there was nothing ordinary about that either. It was like I never tasted tortilla chips before! My husband had an outrageous salmon dish and I had smoked BBQ ribs - perfect!! For dessert we had fresh banana cream pie and death by chocolate cake. Delicious! We tried to leave after dinner, but our son ran back to the pirate ship on the lawn, so we gave in and settled back down in our Adirondack chairs and had another drink. Fireworks in the distance put the finishing touch on the perfect evening. read more
