I've been to cowfish a few times now and I have absolutely nothing bad to say. The food is great (I generally get the kale salad with chicken, the guacamole appetizer and/or the french fries). The dressing on the salad is nice and light. The chicken isn't bad - I'm extremely picky about my chicken and will almost always only eat it grilled/blackened. The fries are amazing. The drinks are strong. The service is great. The views, especially during sunset, are absolutely breathtaking. I come for it all. read more

I called for a last minute reservation and could not get a table but the young woman that answered the phone was pleasant and gave plenty of options to still dine here that night. We were able to walk in and sit in the upper bar area without a wait. Our server was absolutely fantastic. Prompt, friendly and excellent demeanor. We ordered the Buffalo shrimp and deviled eggs (both amazing) and the only complaint was our silverware was taken away after the eggs and before the shrimp came so we had to find our own before we could continue to eat. The clam chowder was probably the best we both have ever had! I had the scallop dinner and was very disappointed in how uneven each one was cooked. Literally one was burned and worked it's way down to one being undercooked. My boyfriend ordered the NY strip and his was inconsistent by ranging from medium rare to well done. The truffle butter was delicious and saved the meal. Over all the appetizers were spot on but the main entrées we felt were over priced for the size and inconsistencies in cooking. Not being local, we weren't sure if this was the norm or just with places opening up that the main cooking was a little rusty. We would try it again but most likely stay away from the main entrées. read more

Fabulous!! This is a must visit restaurant! Our waitress was awesome; friendly and super helpful in navigating the menu as we wanted one of everything. Thank you Michelle R! We started with Brussels sprouts, veal chops and spinach artichoke dip and we were thrilled with them all. Entrees we had pork chops, filet mignon, hake special, and scallops. All were impressive and cooked to perfection. The stuffed potato was a crowd pleaser around the table. From the staff to the food we all left amazed that we hadn't been there before. Stopped in last Sun 8/15/21 around 430- went to hostess to get an outside table for two.. told 1.4hr wait/ we said fine we'd be at the bar and gave her my tell no. As we sat down at the bar a very tired looking bartender told us they were closing in 30 minutes due to a lack of staff!!! We had our drinks and with great disappointment(since it was a beautiful day) left the bar to check on the status of our reservation. We were told they gave our table away ... they said they called us / we didn't respond/ so they gave our table away!.. I said we were here all the time at the bar/she insisted they called us and they could only put our name back on the wait list/ I asked what tel no they called and sure enough they put the wrong tel no in the computer!! Instead of apologizing- they just told us to wait and they'd get us a table .. soon..,10 mins later I asked where were out seats/? She had someone take us to what we're supposed to be outside seats/ they weren't/ they were inside .. rather than argue we just sat down! Having told the waitress our story/ she said OMG I feel so badly the way you were treated/ let me get you an appetizer/ so we ordered one - had our meal and asked for the check- we wondered if the waitress charged us for the apply/ we both thought the way she framed it-it would be on the house.... It wasn't lol! Just the way this day went ! Here are my complaints... the manager shud have told the parking lot attendants to inform patrons about the bars closing time/ had we known it was closing in 30 mins we wud hv gone somewhere else.., the situation created by the hostess was incompetence/they shud always confirm the tell no- they didn't.. once they realized they made the error they shud have seated us immediately - they didn't and they did seat others while we waited/ they screwed up again by knowing we wanted an outdoor table which is why we waited almost 1,5hrs/ yet they put us inside...we drove 1hour to get there and it was a huge disappointment- we've been there enough to know they can and should do better/ and that doesn't even deal with the appetizer confusion! Nice feel/vibe to this place. Not the "stuffy-uptight" Southampton feel. Mixed crowd-young and older. Place was hopping on a Sunday evening. Many different venues and places to sit and walk around. Went for lunch with friends. Very nice place. We ate upstairs. The furniture and decor are very cool. Our waitress was very nice. We had a salad and the cornbread skillet. The cornbread skillet was sooo good. The salad was great. Then my great friend also treated us to the lobster rolls. They were delicious. I usually go to LUNCH but this roll was the best I've ever had. It was pricey but so worth it. The coffee and the end was great too. It wasn't busy when we went so that was a plus. read more

If I could give less stars I would. The hospitality at this place totally ruined our wonderful Hamptons escape. Reservations were set for a Family of 9 celebrating one's birthday. Upon arrival a family of "mixed brown people" Black, Korean, and Hispanic we were all greeted with awkward stares. Ok not unusual to be a person of color in a white establishment to be stared at. As we waited on a Wednesday evening you would've thought this placed was packed and overwhelmed. We waited 45 minutes for a table that we reserved days prior to arriving. Wedding My wife and I attended a wedding here today. I just wanted to share what a great spot this is for a wedding or large party. The setting is beautiful, the space is charming and the staff is very professional. We started with Bloody Mary's and they were top notch! The bar staff was fast and deliberate with a smile. The passed hors d'oeuvres just kept coming and were delicious. First course was clam chowder. The chowder was in my top 5 best I've had. My wife had the salad which she enjoyed. Next was the main course. My wife and I had the ribeye with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The steaks were huge and cooked Medium with lots of charcoal flavor- really good! For desert we had ice cream with home made whip cream and chocolate hot fudge etc.... I asked for one more. The day was perfect I didn't hear one complaint from any of my family that attended. Came here for today for lunch. Prior to coming I looked at the menu online and checked out some pictures and reviews from Yelp. I decided I was going to get the Maui wowi sushi roll and my husband was looking forward to the lobster Mac and cheese. We arrived around 2 pm. And we seated shortly after on the upper deck. I searched the menu for the sushi and Mac and cheese but was very disappointed to not see it. We ended up ordering the lobster stuffed mushrooms and a bowl of the clam chowder as appetizers. We could not find nor taste any lobster, but there was definitely tarragon which seems to be the theme this summer. Not much clams in the clam chowder. For our main courses I had the blackened mahi sandwich. Just ok. Was not a fan of the tarragon flavored tartare sauce. My husband had the French dip with cole slaw which was dry. My daughter had a Caesar salad and my son had chicken fingers. Both were nothing to brag about. Do not think I will be returning anytime soon. read more

Today my colleagues and I hosted a luncheon at cowfish for our clients and we were beyond pleased. Too often when hosting a private event at a restaurant are you left making guesses or filling in gaps. The event ran so smoothly thanks to the attentiveness of the management and staff on hand. We were permitted to arrive early to place additional gifts on the counters. They designed printed menus for our guests to make selections from the pre-fixe menu. They even made a last minute accommodation and moved us into a different dining room when a few of us decided we were a bit too warm on the patio in the shade..and made the switch over in minutes. The food was great too! Burgers, salmon and rotisserie chicken..YUM! Definitely consider them for your private event. EXCELLENT!! read more

Local resident from the North Fork, whose first time at CF was last night. I have years in the hospitality biz, so I "get" things, if you will. My girlfriend does, too, so, when we nicely approached the bar tonight (16 July 445 pm), only to receive some dick attitude from the PUTZ wearing his sunglasses behind the bar (check said "Server: 500"), who made us feel completely unwelcome, and who way-too-casually tossed the checkbook onto the bar in front of us, we were not pleased. We finished our drink and left. His attitude, and lack of any welcoming disposition was utterly obnoxious. Seems like the staff was burned out, and we are not even half way through the season. Chin up, jerks! Gf was supremely disappointed bc she has been a regular customer over the years and was showing me the place. Note to Cowfish: have "Server 500" stop being a total douche to customers. The only reason I'll be coming back to try the food is bc the valet kid nicely asked us how everything was. Ordered food for pickup went had to wait a few minutes so food should have been hot ! then 10 minute drive back food was ice cold and packaged like crap . Scallops a $36 entree thrown in a big take out box with a container in the same box of the side juice from scallops all over the box under container the worst presentation I'd ever seen , stuffed mushrooms cold the best thing was the coleslaw so 73 bucks later that's what I got had to heat In Microwave . Will never ever order anything from them again over priced no food excuses for what I got and four scallops medium size horrible . Should call the place blow fish cause it blows !!! I took a friend here on a Thursday night and we ate at the outside bar. Stunning ambiance, very friendly people around you and bartenders knew the menu inside out out. Mostly feasted On the sushi which was inventive and incredibly fresh. Also had to polish off the sea fare with some good old fashioned turf and went with the Cowfish burger. Amazing on all levels. This place has it all and will be taking my family here for dinner often.... it just has a place for everyone at any age less the pretensions of Hampton dining you can get at other places. read more
